Argh, i've tried the new version and even that won't get past the first loading screen for me. I've tried it three times, and each time i've had nothing else going in the background, and each time i've waited more than 10 minutes.

when you first load up the game it will take a while for me it takes around 10 -30 minutes. if you check the editor you'll notice that several errors are present such as duplicates and such i tried deleting the duplicates but no luck i think that could be causing some errors. I haven't tried yet but maybe renaming all the duplicates could solve some things. as for the load times the new exe has less load times except at the start. just wait it out and don't Ctrl Alt Delte

Through my inexperience at CW and my mindless shilling of Hoobastank and Saliva I am now 70m in debt. Rock on. Crud, just played through for ages and didn't save. Then I got a "Bad record number" error and it closed. Just when U2 had got their album to 6x platinum worldwide. They helped me get the debt down to 25m.

this game is realyl pissing me off, it works good for awhile, then it starts freezing up[, and taking forever to load, even with the new version.

it could be your computer. try playing the game with everything off I mena disconnect from the interent, close your antivirus programs and any webpages and apps that are open, now start a new game and play. I don't have too good of a computer and i can stay online and still play the game. Just be patient it will load even though you think it isn't. and if you hit ctr; Alt Delete to it will automatically show it as not responding so don't do it

Also, it's normal to load slower around Mondays because thats when the game handles new releases, chart updates, album progresses, etc...

Thanks to everyone who has been reporting problems with Chart Wars 3 via the messageboard, and especially thanks to all those people who have sent me zipped copies of their saved games, this has made tracking bugs much easier. If you have a saved game just before you experienced a Runtime Error please send a zipped copy to me at rob@osirisgames.com. To get the correct files you need to subtract 1 from the slot you saved the game in, all the files in the data directory with the extension .sg followed by that number should then be zipped and sent. For example, if you saved the game in slot 10 send all the files with the extension .sg9, if you saved in slot 3 then the files ending in .sg2 are the ones i'm interested in etc.

I would also like to mention at this point that running the game and the editor at the same time will cause a Runtime Error 438, please avoid this. Oh and also, as with any other game, disabling any antivirus software you may have running should noticeably increase the speed of the game.

Anyway, onto the new version, i've tracked down a few bugs and i'm fairly confident they have now been eliminated, i'm also fairly sure that the two bugs i've fixed are the main cause of the problems people have been getting with runtime error 63 which is very good news. Further good news is that saved games from version 1.0.4 are compatible with the new version so if you already have the game installed you need only replace the .exe - click here to get the file. As before however to be on the safe side I recommend you completely remove and reinstall the game, to do this (or if you don't have a copy of the game yet) please download the full installer from here. As always comments, questions and suggestions are welcome.

The only thing I havn't updated in a while is the video card, as it's still a Voodoo... III I think. We've got two drives with lots of space and RAM and shit.

I hate computers.

I've still got Voodoo III as well and it works fine. Graphics aren't a major thing in this game, if you couldn't tell.

Firstly today I want to say a huge thnk you to all the people who sent me a zipped copy of their saved games, it has made diagnosing problems in the game a LOT easier. Though my hard drive is now beginning to creak under the strain of Chart Wars games it's great to know you guys are able to pretty much play the game properly now.

I've spent a good part of today fixing problems raised by you guys over the last 24 hours and I think i've cleared them all up. Saved games from version 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 are compatible with the new version so, as before if you already have the game installed you need only replace the .exe - click here to get the file. Again though I would like to say that I recommend completely removing and reinstalling the game. Also, I have fixed the Shakira/50 Cent problem, the Missy Higgins problem and also added Pink (someone pointed out she was missing from the game.)
