So thanks to YouTube I saw this strange couple people have been running into and I have a question for anyone that encountered them.

Spoiler

The incest couple. After they drug you, steal your cash and leave you for dead. What happens if you go back to their home?

I went back, and the answer is nothing too crazy. They freak out that you're back, you kill them, and get your money back from behind a portrait of their mother.

Yeah, I went back and blew both of their heads off with a shotgun. The pricks.

Spoiler

When I woke up, I walked back down to the house carrying the corpse I was under. Dumped it right in front of the sister and then executed her with a sawed-off. The brother caught a dynamite as he got down the stairs.
Also, around the side of the house, there's a window you can shoot out and jump through. There's more cash hidden in there.

I'm only midway through chapter 2 ange just got a trophy for donating $250 to the camp. Most of that money coming from blackjack.

How much of a grind was it to get a large percentage of that through Blackjack?

Just finished it this evening and it's so emotional at the end.

Spoiler

I shed a tear when my horse died. Not sure if I'll do the epilogue right away, not playing as Arthur doesn't feel right, the immediate time jump seems a bit jarring and I don't have any link to RDR to interest me. That said I am invested enough in the surviving characters that I want the loose ends tied up.

Blackjack isn't too much of a grind, luck pending. You can do pretty big bets and it's a lot quicker than poker. Plus I genuinely enjoyed drinking a glass of wine or two and playing blackjack. Stops me going to the real casino which I'm trying to ease up on. At the same time though this game is not helping with trying to quit chewing.

Just finished the epilogue at last. I started out thinking I wouldn't like Arthur Morgan as much as John Marston, because for such a long time RDR1 was pretty much my gold standard for games and for a while I didn't but now, at the end? Yeah, Morgan is possibly my favourite video game protagonist ever.

So obviously the games both end with the main character dying and they're both tragic stories but fuckin hell, Morgans life is so bleak. From getting tuberculosis, losing his mentor to a scumbag traitor, watching his father figure and friends killed in front of him, to stuff like Mary returning his ring and breaking his heart, and the revelation about his son, he just never get a chance to be happy. It's amazing how Rockstar can go from creating such unlikable characters in GTAV to making you genuinely feel sad for Arthur. Even his bloody horse gets killed at the end.

It might be down to RDR2 being on a much bigger scale, being more refined and having generally more activities to do as Arthur but you really feel connected to him in a way I didn't with Marston, and its devastating when almost every avenue for success or happiness is ruthlessly torn away from him. Its fantastic writing that I didn't expect, and it is actually far more involving than the first game. The only downside really is that Micah has no depth as the villain other than being a huge dickhead. Everything else was so spot on.

Arthur was just too good for this world :(

So yeah. When's RDR3 out?
