  1. Funny how they nearly won the game, Stuttgart started off at 100mph and they were never going to be able to keep it up.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, especially after they looked awful after 10 minutes <_<

But yeah I'll admit I was wrong, but I guess my prediction of a Scottish team getting humbled DID come true.

Rangers when away never show up till the second half...even in Scotland. It is something that needs addressed before it costs us any more points, and Celtic losing away is a given. The bookies won't take bets on Celtic away soon. :P

  2. They rap on about English fans going mad and its in the news for days. I've heard nothing on TV. Rangers were warned many times about their fans. It is time Fifa took serious action.

Shut the fuck up! Until last night Rangers didn't have one arrest against our name in this years Euro travels. I was in Manchester last night and the bullshit could have easily been avoided. The fan zones could not cope with the amount of support that showed and there were just as many people trying to get in as were actually in the place. Riot police forming baselines and trying to force the fans away from the "fan zone" didnt really help. There were two big screens, One for adverts and one to show the game. The one to show the game broke yet the adverts kept on coming.

And the car that got smashed up could have easily been avoided. The road near the fanzone should have been closed considering the amount of people on it, police and fans. The road remained open and the driver of the car forced his way through the crowd and knocked down and hospitalised a Rangers fan.

Manchester were underprepared and the police were aggresive as fuck, what did they expect in return?

On another note, RIP Tommy Burns.

  3. one hell of a wirred final, Glascow who played crap and somehow got thrugh (if i only thing back to how they played in Bremen, their goaly was barly able to have a kick off not go out over the side lines....) and St. Petersburg who aperently play great but no one ever realy noticed.

Asides he fact that bremen lost i like it :-p But Sorry Kraig, in the final i will be against the non soccer team :-p

We don't play soccer in Scotland. We play football, bitch. (H)

Call it whatever you want, in the end it´s still not playing, more like surviving. ;-)

We survived to knock you nazi cunts out....Love you. :P

  4. As per yesterdays forum post, we have decided to make a beta version of the 8.01 patch available for people to try.

For those who don't know what a "beta" is, it's a test version that we would normally use internally to test the fixes that have been made.

We have decided to release this to you due to people having issues with the workaround for the closing down bug, and a couple of other long term issues that people have discovered, as well as a few compatibility issues that a few users have experienced on their machines and the Securom copy protection that is being used on the game.

We will be releasing a final version of the patch in a couple of weeks, once we're happy with it and have gone through a full test cycle internally. The final version will also include data changes.

There will be many different versions of the "beta" patch available for the different variations of the game. As these become available, the game name will be in bold lettering.

    Football Manager 2008 PC boxed - http://download.sega.com/u/fm2008_patch/fm...1_betapatch.exe

Football Manager 2008 Mac boxed - coming soon (hopefully this week)

WWSM 2008 PC boxed - coming soon (likely early next week)

WWSM 2008 Mac boxed - coming soon (likely early next week)

WWSM 2008 Digital Download - coming soon (likely early next week)

Futbol Manager 2008 Digital Download - coming soon (likely early next week)

The reason for them being available at different times is that the different versions all need different installers, which take quite a bit of time to build, and also need to be tested (the installer) before we can make them live. We appreciate your patience during this time, and they will all go live as soon as we can get them done.

Hastily written, *then edited by Matt - see me after class, Mr Jacobson* legal blurb - please note that, as this is a "beta" version of the patch, it is a test version and therefore not the final version. We haven't finished testing it yet, so use it at your own risk, but we expect it to be ok. Whilst we believe we've fixed the issues, We'd like to hear, of course, if you encounter further problems, so we can try and rectify them.

  5. PS3 League is up if anyone is interested

  6. Yea, it's easy to get caught up in the moment and as i'm sure you're all aware it tends to be the standard reflex on here to go for the near the knuckle humour. So, sorry for that.

It is a sad loss of life though, like Johnny I was never too much into the old Rally thing but it's sad for people with their whole lives ahead of them to pass away. RIP to all.

I'm not into the "old rally thing," but I did meet the guy, An approachable down to earth family guy. I'm not one to grieve over someone I met and spoke to for the best part of a minute but where are all the shitty remarks and jokes when it is a wrestler chocking on his own vomit or dying of a heart attack due to drugs misuse?

  7. Stop being inconsiderate pricks.

Tom Gordon for The Sunday Times

THE former rally driving champion Colin McRae was killed and his five year-old son feared dead in a helicopter crash yesterday afternoon. The aircraft came down in Jerviswood, Lanarkshire, half a mile from the family's home and burst into flames just after 4pm.

Jean-Eric Freudiger, McRae's agent, said the 39-year-old driver had been piloting the helicopter himself. Also on board were believed to be his son Johnny, another adult and another child. Police said there were no survivors.

McRae's wife Alison and their daughter Hollie, 9, were not on board, friends said.

McRae became Britain's first World Rally champion in 1995. He was one of the country's most successful sportsmen, achieving 25 wins in World Rally events and 42 podium places. He was a flamboyant driver, inspiring one the world's best-selling computer rally games.

The helicopter came down within half a mile of McRae's home, Jervis House, a 16th-century tower house, which has an adjacent helipad. The weather had been overcast, with a light breeze, but visibility was good.

Strathclyde police said the extent of the fire damage was making identification a problem.

McRae's wife, a childhood sweetheart and his former co-driver, was taken back to the house under police escort shortly after 6pm. She looked calm, but neighbours gathering outside the house looked shaken with grief.

McRae's friend the rally journalist Jeremy Hart who flew with the champion several times described him as a "very good, very measured pilot whose natural ability with machinery was second to none". "Colin regularly flew all over the UK and into Europe," said Hart. "He knew the terrain and conditions at Jerviswood very well. It was the place he flew into most regularly.

"As a driver Colin was misunderstood slightly as being reckless but everything you saw with him came from pure raw talent as opposed to being learnt. He was the Michael Schumacher of rally driving.

"It's so ironic that he should die in a helicopter crash when he had competed and had brushed with death so many times as a rally driver."

    R.I.P Colin McRae

  8. That's not a Be the Pro demo, that's been in all of EA's next gen football ventures during the loading screen

I was under the impression that it was a taster of the engine for "Be a pro." Controlling one player from the 3rd person...Sounded about right. Guess not.

Although it's not really anything to do with the be a pro mode, essentially that's what be a pro is going to be like. The camera works in the same way i believe (zooming on the player as he has the ball/move towards goal or giving a wider view the further away from the ball you are etc.) and obviously the way the player is controlled will be exactly the same. So even though it's not an official demo of the mode you could class it as a taster of what to expect.

So by adding this to the demo I assumed it was to try-out the "Be a Pro" gameplay which in turn could of course be classed as a demo.

  10. PS3 Sixaxis device drivers for Windows. It's recommended Windows XP or higher.

    1. Download and install the filter driver (libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe).

    2. Unpack ps3sixaxis_en.exe

    3. Plug the SIXAXIS into your PC.

    4. Run ps3sixaxis_en.exe once.

    5. Push the PS button on the SIXAXIS once if it doesn't see it straight away.

To test, check controller properties in Control Panel.

It's good to see that the location has shifted back to Liberty City. I was really impressed by the lighting and the level of detail in each of the buildings; the animations and activity shown by the passers-by was great too, and the new Jean Reno lead character certainly looks different from past protagonists. Of course, he's not really Jean Reno, but it certainly looks like him only with a Russian accent. It's great to hear that everything shown in the trailer, according to Rockstar reps, is all in-game as well. I'm left highly impressed.

Hilary Goldstein, Chief News and Features Editor, IGN .com

The problem with building month-long hype for a trailer is that each day leading up to the trailer grows fan expectation. There's no way the GTA IV trailer could give fans everything they wanted or reveal too much about the game. But I liked what I saw. Seeing a true New York revealed -- with numerous identifiable landmarks, including the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal -- gave me a bit of a charge. It's about time Rockstar gave up on "impressions" of real places, buckled down and gave us free reign in over a real city. What better place to debut a true GTA adventure than in the city that never sleeps?

The trailer showed a day/night cycle, some swanky next-gen graphics and revealed one character who apparently belongs to the Russian mob. If Rockstar uses real gangs, as Erik Brudvig suggested after seeing the trailer, GTA IV could be pretty brilliant. I expect nothing less than a full-scale New York City with functional subway system, a true blue Yankees Stadium and lots of innocent pedestrians to endanger. Though the gameplay remains a hidden secret, I am still slightly apprehensive about falling in love with GTA IV. So far it looks fantastic -- but if Rockstar doesn't fix its controls and give me something more than what's come in past GTA games, I'll be disappointed. That said, following the trailer debut, GTA IV is definitely a game that is high on my wish list.
