  1. So after checking through the Play.com sale and finding several albums I'd been monitoring for a while cheap I also discovered that there are plenty of Paradise Lost and Opeth albums there too.

So with student loans to burn, what Opeth or Paradise Lost should I be checking out?

For Opeth I'd say Blackwater Park, Watershed and Damnation. :)

Add Ghost Reveries to that mix. Not quite on the same level as the 3 afformentioned albums but it's still great.

  3. Has Australia gotten BR1 yet? :shifty:

Yeah we finally got it released here a week before World Tour came out. Should've got the RB instruments though because my WT drums have screwed up twice (once the Yellow Cymbal, now the Red Pad) and my guitar i got with it doesn't register up strums, which sucks because i play on expert.

EDIT I was wondering why there was a runner up in the winners match but not the runner up match. Makes sense now.

  5. So I've got the game coming tomorrow according to multiplayer.it, while i wait for my next pay to come in so i can order a MAX drive, could someone direct me to any sites that have Formulas for CAWs? I've found a fair few saves, but i want to just get a feel of how accurate the CAW system is by making someone I'm familiar with like Jericho, RVD, Benoit, Guerrero etc.

  6. TMV are pretty hit or miss live, from the bootlegs I've gathered over the years. Cedric and the boys have their nights when they're spot on, and then sometimes it's just awful.

Yeah but for Melbourne they've been hit 4 times and miss once. The only thing that's ever shoddy is Cedric's Vocals when he's running around too much and loses his breath. It's pretty cool anyways because the band's always spot on, and Cedric's either nailing the vocals or not nailing the vocals but going apeshit around the stage, which is still cool.

  7. 1988 - The Pixies - Surfer Rosa

1989 - Faith No More - The Real Thing

    1990 - Pantera - Cowboys from Hell

1991 - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik

1992 - Rage Against the Machine - Self Titled

    1993 - Tool - Undertow

    1994 - Weezer - Blue Album

1995 - Red Hot Chili Peppers - One Hot Minute

    1996 - Tool - Ænema

1997 - Buena Vista Social Club

1998 - The Living End - Self Titled

    1999 - Dream Theater - Scenes from a memory (Metropolis pt2)

    2000 - At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command

2001 - Opeth - Blackwater Park and Tool - Lateralus

2002 - Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf

2003 - The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium and Opeth - Damnation

2004 - John Frusciante - Shadows Collide with People

2005 - The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute

2006 - Hilltop Hoods - The Hard Road, Mastodon - Blood Mountain and Tool - 10,000 Days

2007 - The Fall of Troy - Manipulator

2008 - Opeth - Watershed, The Mars Volta - Bedlam in Goliath and Weezer - Red Album

  8. Get some of the text message cars when you can, or at least don't let the messages get deleted or have too many that they'll be pushed off your saved ones. My Mate's finished the game and he doesn't know how the hell to start the text message missions now because he can't find the SMS'.

  9. Fall of Troy and Circa Survive remind me of the Mars volta, but i think that's the spacey sound of CC and the prog aspects of FoT, along with the fact that all 3 bands have high pitched singers

Also Opeth and Mastodon remind me of one another, because i got into both of them within a week of each other and listened almost exclusively to them for the next week. Great stuff

  10. The thing with the Rumble match, or any match at that (particularly Iron Man, Submission, etc.) is a more varied and indepth damage system with a way to regain health and/or stamina/whatever in the match.

The way the Smackdown games are designed is for 3-8 minute matches if you're lucky. The rare longer one may happen. But it's rather difficult to effectively pull a Flair/Mysterio/Benoit/Michaels/et al Rumble performance on a system designed for such short matches when these matches (and even in the game) can go for a time. Also once both guys are red in a Iron Man match it's effectively redundant as either can whip off a pin or submission with relative ease.

I agree completely with this. I think they should implement a system where say in a singles match, moves do 100% damage, but on say a hardcore match where people get hit in the head with chairs and the likes all the time they should only have a 50% damage or something. It'd be like the wrestlers going into a big match like a Royal Rumble or a title match would step it up and bring their 'A' game, so they're a bit more versatile in kicking out. It's silly that you play through season mode and get to hardcore matches and they're over in like 5 minutes because it only takes that long to get your opponent in the red for a pin.
