Chapter 4, anyone managed to pressure the Fonadu in the optional combat encounter thing? I know you've got to evade his Death From Above ability, but he barely ever does it and it's super tight on timing. Very annoying. Bah.

This was the fight that made me use Tifa for the first time. I managed to pull it off after several attempts having the same issues as you but switching to her seemed to help with getting the bar to climb.

I barely caught it but I think I saw that players can opt in and have their real names be used too. That's a neat feature I think

Yeah each player gets $600 and a copy of the game every year they are included

I think that Stadium Stampede looks really fun if you were playing it with friends but it's more likely you'll be playing against jerks who found the cheapest way possible to win

I'm hoping down the line they put in other modes with duos or trios because this is my big worry about it being single player.

I'm not even going to subject ya'll to the gameplay footage. This game sucks.

If you told me this was a live reading of a reddit post on WWEGames I'd 100% believe it.

I don't have the game yet but if I get it it'll be because I want to play as AEW wrestlers in an AEW game.

  5. Just beat Tales of Arise and it really was the adult version of DQ11 for me, right down to the multiple false finishes like I was watching an old DIY/Revival match.

The gameplay was the weakest part but once I switched to playing as the mage that area wasn't quite as lacking.

I'll admit to not watching the game today, only a couple of highlights. And while Curry is great at pretty much everything, and I know my strategy would result in a bunch of fouls...but put a freaking body on him. If you give him any space at all, he's either dribbling the ball through you, or he's shooting it. Make him work more. Tire him out. Foul out your bench players, but get Curry as tired as possible, so that when you put your best defenders on him, he's not moving as quick.

This will at least result in him only scoring 35 or 40, not 50. Good luck with Klay and Wiggins.

I thought they did a really good job of trying to exploit Curry as much as possible but the Warriors experience in negating that along with having two players who were welcomed to shoot made the difference. The Kings tried but this is the excellence of Curry shining through.

I've been playing Horizon: Forbidden West. It's been long enough since I played Zero Dawn that it all feels the right combination of new and familiar, without treading over old ground. The story so far isn't quite as compelling, in terms of pushing me on to figure out what happened in the past, but it's interesting enough to keep me guessing, and I still love the combat in these games even if I'm not great when it comes to anything more advanced than "keep hoying arrows at them til their dead".

Trying to sneak into rebel camps and kill everyone without being spotted is the kind of occasional stealth gameplay I love, and last night (after three attempts) I (at level 24) managed to kill a Shellsnapper, which thus far has been the hardest machine I've encountered (I've stayed clear of the Thunderjaw). It took a long time, and only a slightly more advanced strategy than "keep hoying arrows", in that I focused my efforts on attacking the shell clamps to remove part of the outer shell, then rained fire arrows down on him to do more damage once he was exposed. Given that he's not remotely attached to the plot, and there were still other machines nearby I needed to finish off once I was done with him, it was a bit of an anticlimactic feel having beaten him, though I managed to bring down a nearby drone at least.

I had the same feelings about the story and then it seemed to really pick up and grab me maybe halfway through. Hopefully it does the same for you!

  8. That along with neither side cares enough about it to give something up in negotiations to make it a reality.

Excited to see the new extension rules and the 65 game threshold for winning awards and the tournament will seem a lot less silly in a decade.

They said they could not verify if it was ever his gun except when he was filming with it. The 2 days of therapy to magically be better is so classic, he'll be back doing some shit soon enough. Some people can't help themselves.

You don't think this edition of "Scared Straight" worked?

  10. Have they fixed the issues of random wrestlers showing up as the preview for CAWs a majority of the time once you downloaded a good chunk of them?

I know it seems small but it drove me absolutely crazy having half my roster looking like the same person as I'm scrolling through and was just curious. Really wanted to wait for AEW's game since I have 2k22 but the positive reviews are tempting.

And now Durant is out for the season, possibly the start of the playoffs, with a sprained ankle. Off to a great start.

If he is back for the playoffs I still think I'm picking them over any team in the West and I say that as a Booker/Paul hater. They made it look so easy with unbelievably simple concepts with him in there I'm not betting against them until the Finals.

My wife just beat Mass Effect 1 after I've been trying to get her to try it out for years so that's exciting stuff in this household.

Never having played FemShep, watching all the main quest stuff has been the best part for me and I'm ready to get her started on 2

She beat 2 last night and got lucky with everyone surviving. After how 2 ended she's anxious about starting 3 which just shows how well they build the story arc over the games.

I beat Hogwarts Legacy clocking in at 30 hours, a lot of fun with a combat system I'd like to see implemented elsewhere.

I can't really think of an FM that is the go-to as a lot of players just jump in at the most recent one.

The thing with FM is that you reassign a lot of tasks or pointless clicks to staff members on your team so you don't need to get bogged down in training, press conferences etc, and can eventually find out these things as you go along.

Zealand is a pretty good YouTube guy for FM stuff:

As Gorka said, latest is the best choice unless you can get 22 for super duper cheap. If you have Game Pass, FM23 is also available on there.

Thanks to you both for the answers; I had also seen from places I don't trust as much as EWB that latest is usually best. People also say that about Madden though so I wanted to make sure FM23 isn't the same game as FM20/21 with just a fresh coat of paint.

And yet somehow an improvement over Sarver.

He and Dan Gilbert probably have an incredible amount of blackmail on each other. Just mortgage slimeballs, both of them.

Are there any owners that would be worth rooting for? Balmer is the closest I can think of but I feel like anyone who has that much money has it because they are happy to step on people.

    See also Thunder, OKC.

    ***

The East is much stronger. The West's best chance is if the Eastern teams batter one another.

What about the Thunder? Durant carried that team to the Finals, watched them trade away his best teammate and future MVP so they could keep Kendrick Perkins around, and then gave him Westbrook as his running mate. He was more loyal to that franchise than that franchise was to him.

And yeah, the top of the East is better than the West but I would have said that last year also and we saw how that turned out. It's like Zach Lowe says, if you have Durant you have a shot at the title. Add Booker and Ayton to that mix and they are going to be a tough out when rotations get shortened and that depth isn't as glaring.

  16. I've really had that simulator itch for something other than TEW/WMMA and remembered I really enjoyed the last Football Manager even if I didn't 100% grasp everything.

After looking it up it seems to have been FM13 so my question is what year would you recommend a novice football fan who knows nothing of the sport?

    What was your party?

Black Mage, Knight, White Mage, Monk for the fourth I'm pretty sure.

I blitzed through pretty much everything until the final boss. My Monk wasn't doing any damage so I reloaded my save from right before the fight and went and got Masamune to fix that.

  18. I'm only about 10 hours in on Hogwarts Legacy and it's been just about everything I could have asked for in a first attempt for a game in the HP universe.

The spell system is fluid and lends itself to fun combat as well as interesting puzzle options going forward.

It has some pacing issues and other flaws but for the first installment I couldn't be happier with how it has started out.
