  1. If the third round had lasted ten seconds longer Santiago could've pulled off the upset. Nelson had his hands down and got caught at the bell, hopefully teaches him to stay on his toes right until the end. Good fight.

Now let's hope for the first main card finish of the night, courtesy of Jimi Manuwa. Can't wait.

  2. Sass sporting a tattoo of Liverpool's club crest. Go Castillo!

I'm surely not the one who's incredibly excited about this card? I tried to buy the UFC.com stream (first time for me) but I have no money on my PayPal account and you can't pay with a Visa Electron card. :/ Rooting big time for Manuwa and Nelson tonight.

  4. 300,000 buys from people who would buy most of the following shows anyhow, or 10-20 million people who will never watch again if this fight isn't Bonnar/Griffin-level exciting?

I never liked boxing and I was never interested in any form of combat sport before I was introduced to MMA by watching UFC 92. None of the fights were "Bonnar/Griffin-level exciting", yet I became a fan instantly and I'm still watching it almost three years later. Sure, some probably won't get the spark and will just go "meh, this is stupid" and never watch it again, but they're people who most likely wouldn't even get into this stuff even if it was another Bonnar vs. Griffin type of brawl. It doesn't have to be the greatest fight ever in order for someone to become interested.

I seriously don't get how you can say "there is no way this will not be a great fight". Neither of these guys has ever been entertaining when they're not knocking people out in the first round.

While I do agree that Cain Velasquez isn't the most entertaining fighter in the world, that statement is absolute bullshit when it comes to Junior Dos Santos. He's gone past the first round three times during his career and two of them were, if not great, then at the very least fun stand-up wars with Carwin and Nelson. I can't seem to remember a thing about the Cro Cop fight, so it might've been dull, but not calling JDS an entertaining fighter is just stupid.

  5. I'm afraid there won't be any "UNITED UNBEATEN" talk anymore, I can't recall us looking this shit this season. No real chances, no real creativity - except Rooney and Evra trying to impress each other with some useless backheels -, no nothing. Sir Alex must pull out the good ol' hairdryer if we wanna even dream of escaping with a point from this one.

  6. Fucking relieved with that result after Rafael's sending off. Vidic was ace again, there's just not enough superlatives to describe the man.

Disappointed, though, that even with two strikers the tactic was clearly to have Rooney play a more defensive role. Had Rafael not been sent off either team could've easily snatched the win. It was up for grabs but we didn't really even bother reaching out.
