Random workers are excellent. Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. Right now, without any of the workers added from this topic, I have about 100 in the database with about 30 staff members, as well as 4 promotions [1 global, 2 national, and 1 cult].

Once everything is up and running, yes. I hope to, anyway. Like I said, I know nothing about uploading data and things like that, so I'd have to have some assistance in that area. But that is my plan. Once I have a solid group of I'd say upwards of 600 workers [or more, depends on how much others are willing to contribute], and then enough staff members to make the game functional, I'll release the data as well as a pic pack for at least the promotions I created.

Background: During the early-to-middle years of the 1900s, wrestling was predominantly a regional venture. The stars of yesterday were known mainly throughout the region in which they wrestled. However, that all changed when a collection of promotions, headed by the Midwest Championship Wrestling and William Jennings. Opening its doors in1979, Big Time Wrestling took the industry by storm. The companyquickly exploded onto the scene and rose to National prominence within only twoyears. BTW would obtain the top spot in the wrestling world a year later due totheir great wrestling and their exciting younger workers. However, as timepassed, and more companies starting popping up, BTW began losing steam. By 1994, Big Time Wrestling had fallen fromgrace after their product had become stale [but they were still the biggest wrestling promotion in the US] with the wrestling fans of the erachoosing the storylines and next generation of stars in the other promotionsover their current happenings. It was at this time that BTW brass decided thepromotion was in need of an influx of young talent that had helped bring it toprominence nearly ten years earlier. Theyouth movement was on, and with it, Big Time Wrestling hit its stride oncemore. The promotions most financiallysuccessful year came only five years later in 1999 when BTW's most popularstar, One Man Army, won his first Ascension battle royal and was well on hisway to becoming the most recognized man in the history of sportsentertainment. At the beginning of 1999,BTW's largest competitor, the UWA, closed its doors as it was bought out by thecompetition. With the purchase of itsrival company, Big Time Wrestling was the only major promotion left in theUS. It was in the Summer of '99 that anew competitor run by a former BTW staff member would open its doors. Over the course of the next decade, BTW andits new rival, the Extreme Wrestling Alliance (EWA), would be the leadingpromotions not only in the US, but in the entire world. Despite EWA's enormous growth in the tenyears since its inception, BTW has managed to keep hold of the top spot. However, with the EWA on the brink of goingglobal, many question if they'll be able to keep it heading into the newdecade. 2010 would be a solid year forthe company as it began to phase out some of the older stars in favor of somefresh faces. The rise of the likes of Vance Wildish, Cam Kaeden, Joe Smith, and other young workers has breathed some air into the lungs of the companyand has kept them clutching to their number one spot. Even now, with 2012 in its last quarter, BigTime Wrestling is the number one wrestling promotion in the world. The EWA, however, is still almost neck-and-neck with BTW.

Okay, so, I've been working on creating an alternate wrestling world on and off for the last two years and have come, for the most part, to a creative stand-still. I have the majority of the largest promotion done, including a complete history [up to August 2012] of the main event & midcard championships [Heavyweight and Grand Prix, respectively]. I have an almost complete roster for the promotion and a good amount of staff members. I have the beginning stages of the second largest promotion completed, with a few workers, some staff, and a bit of a backstory for the company. I have the basis of two other promotions laid out, with one being a UK-based, soon-to-be global promotion. I've run out of ideas for workers, however, and am now reaching out to the EWB community for some suggestions. I'll likely be creating a picture pack to go with the scenario once it is complete, as I have taken pictures of real-life workers and used them as a base for my created individuals. However, I have no idea how to upload files and what not, so if there is anyone out there that would be willing to play this scenario and has the knowledge of how to do such things, you're more than welcome to shoot me a message.
Things I'm looking for are ideas for more promotions [preferably anything below National. I already have two National Promotions - one in the UK - and a Global. There is one Cult level promotion as well, but that is all.], more workers [both active and retired, as I'd like to have some history for the scenario as opposed to just some random created folks], staff members, etc. If anyone is interested, I'll gladly post some of the stuff that I already have done. I think it would be cool for those of us that find EWR more enjoyable to have something like the CornellVerse to toy around with.

I get that this is a fantasy scenario and all, but to have 6 global promotions? The idea that they'd all have a sustainable audience, and then to have them ALL owned and operated out of the US? I like the idea that WCW and ECW are still around, but to have these others companies also at the global level? However, to each their own I suppose. Good luck with the scenario!

For any one that should choose to make a wrestler for EWA, think ECW-style workers. That's the main focus of the promotion is characters and hard-hitting slug fest violence. Oh, and of course sprinkling in some nice, crisp, technically-fundamental wrestling as well.

A Bit of Background: In 1998, a young write by the name of Wes Jackson was employed by Big Time Wrestling. However, his ideas and storylines were very suggestive and controversial, and because none of his ideas were being used, he was fired. Jackson vowed revenge on the company in any way he could get it. A year later, with financial backing, Jackson opened up the Extreme Wrestling Alliance. The promotion would be a more edgey depiction of wrestling. In 1990, Thames debuted as a local worker, and for the next year, he was a jobber to the bigger stars in the company. However, during that time, Thames impressed people backstage with his work ethic and his solid in-ring capabilities. It was decided that he would receive a push. In several months, Thames was elevated from jobber to mid-card status, capturing the companies equivalent of the real world Intercontinental Championship, the Grand Prix title. He first honed his craft in the former BTW developmental territory Mid-Western Wrestling, or MWW for short. There Washington came up with his gimmick idea. He wasn't quite a pimp, but he had some of the qualities of one, what with the hat, the glasses, and occasionally a cane. He would wear a long jacket and used his charisma to connect with the fans. When he debuted on BTW television in 1995, his act had been toned down quite a bit to avoid his character from coming off as too cartoonish. Washington soon would turn heel after capturing the Grand Prix Championship in 1998, attacking his partner following the loss of their Tag Team Championships. The team had been very successful. Him and his partner captured gold on seven different occasions from their debut up until that point. However, with his new bad attitude, Washington's career would soar to new highs. After winning the Ascension Battle Royale in 2000, Washington would go on to defeat One Man Army for his first reign as Heavyweight Champion. He would hold the belt four more times after that. Background: One of BTW's finest, Taku Michinoru is a world class athlete. He's one of the best technicians in the sport, and has the resume to back it up. His ideas were rather controversial, and a bit sketchy, so BTW decided it'd be best to cut ties with the young man. Needless to say, Jackson didn't much like the fact that he'd been canned, and vowed he'd find some way to get revenge on the company. Background: Marc Lorenson was brought in to Big Time Wrestling during OMA's rise to fame. The formed a superb tandem that captured the Tag Team titles on two separate occasions. When it was clear that OMA was ready for the next step, the two had a feud with one another after Lorenson's character developed the Spider personality during the feud for his underhanded tactics and general sneaky behavior. Needless to say the feud was a smash hit with the fans and helped propel OMA to the level he needed to be at by going over in the feud. It wasn't long before Lorenson was himself rewarded for his hard work. Soon after OMA, in 1998, Lorenson earned himself a title shot by winning the Ascension battle royal. He would go on to feud once again with his long-time friend/rival One Man Army, but this time with the stakes much higher.
