  1. Yeah any stuff I couldn't find, I just don't know what the hell it controls. I went through testing everything for about two months with someone who spoke Italian and we managed to get just about everything. If you have any questions, just let me know. I'll periodically check back.

  2. Sorry about the absence. My computer got some nasty malware.

    BFG -> Emo: Here I see the worker must be Heavyweight and not heel. Any reason to bind Emo to these limits?

    I never thought of it as being a heel gimmick but the heavyweight is a constraint.

    Clown -> Child: I find it a bit useless if you cannot employ a proper child.

    I would have liked to change the age requirement but finding specific values has been very tough for some reason. For now, I figured this would do.

    Country Singer -> Legal Attorney: Worker must be american, so no foreign lawyers?

    Yeah I forgot that it had to be American only

    Dealer -> Sadist: I don't think sadist is as risky as drug dealer.

    Agreed but it matches Masochist in terms of risk

    Evil Knight -> Art Is Life: Worker must be male but I can imagine females with this gimnick.

    True but none came to mind

    Evil Pimp -> New Money: High risk and only male do not match exactly with the gimnick.

    Yeah I didn't like this one too much in the end. Suggestions?

    Evil Preacher -> Fake Babyface: I don't see why at least 40% risk to have a fake babyface.

    I felt that no one really uses a promotion under 40% but I admit it's not optimal

    Evolution -> Knock-Off: Sorry, my primary languages is not English. What does knock-off mean?

    Copy or imitation

    Fun Drunk -> 'Animal': Risky and not heel, non perfect for the gimnick, which I found a bit useless afterall.

    Yeah usually they have a gimmick in addition to having an animal. Suggestions?

    Junkie -> Robber: Robber is not as risky as junkie in my opinion.

    Agreed

    Lawyer -> Snitch: What's a snitch?

    Someone who tells on someone else for their own gain or to cause trouble

    Lumberjack -> Pretty Boy: Why only american or canadian?

    I forgot the requirements of lumberjack in doing this

    Man Beast -> Primitive: A bit useless I think.

    Yep. Suggestions?

    Man in Black -> Jive Brother: Why the need for superstar look?

    Ideally would have liked Fonz Factor

    Manic Depressive -> Past Their Prime: Why not face? And isn't it almost the same as grizzled veteran?

    I'd say a grizzled veteran is different. This is moreso for someone who's old but isn't tough or anything.

    Ninja -> Gypsy: Is so frequent the gypsy gimnick?

    Haha no

    Postal Worker -> Faith Beliefs: I'd assign it a minimum risk.

    Maybe. Mind elaborating?

    Racist -> Coarse: Is there a need for this gimnick?

    It's so common, especially in ECW

    Rasta -> Irish: Why limit it only to men? I'd let rasta alone and rename pacifist irish.

    Oh didn't realize it was men only

    Religious Zealot -> 'Mature' Villain: I don't catch the L&O innuendo.

    It's a scripted American TV show about catching and prosecuting criminals of various types

    Suave -> Clown: Why clown not be menacing?

    Because they aren't LOL

    That 80's Guy -> Fashion Model: Why not face?

    It's moreso a heel gimmick the way it would come off in wrestling

    The Ryland Effect -> Self Hype Machine: Why not heel?

    Yeah I need to revise that

    Trash -> Giant: Yes, but I think menacing should be a must.

    Ideally but it doesn't hurt anything by not being so

    Violent Drunk -> No Boundaries: Is not the same as man on a mission?

    I'd say one is goal oriented and this one is just about winning by any means

    I honestly got tired of the questions although I have to thank you for the amount of time and effort you put into proofing it. I really do appreciate it. I am more than welcome to any suggestions you have and from anyone for that matter. The only thing that needs to be kept in mind is that I can't change any values already in place and that the character limit needs to be the same.

  3. Doesn't the Big Friendly Giant gimmick require that "Menacing" be checked? And that the person be a babyface? So, for example, you could give Big Show an emo gimmick but not Raven.

    No, it's simply a face gimmick and given the description I came up with, it fits for face only.

    Beyond that, you've replaced the incredible useful Bad Ass and Man Beast gimmicks

    This is why I requested that people read. Bad Ass is still in the game. On the count of Man Beast, it seemed redundant to me given that it was probably only in there for Rhyno, who can be given any number of similar gimmicks such as the aforementioned Bad Ass.

    with a generic "fantasy" gimmick

    Which is actually quite useful in my opinion given how many countless ones there have been in wrestling.

    and a caveman gimmick that, while fun, I have never seen in a wrestling promotion ever.

    That one will probably be changed in the next revision as I kinda veered off track with what I wanted it to be.

    You've given Whole Damn Show a far more generic name than it had before that suggests the same sort of gimmick.

    Because the gimmick as it stood was meant only for RVD even though it had stats to benefit any range of heels. Early heel AJ Styles in TNA could have this gimmick but there was far more to the RVD moniker than Styles did so someone might choose something else.

    "Foreign Royalty"--which requires merely a non-USA gimmick and could thus apply to a broad range of gimmicks from William Regal to Prince Nana to Tiger Ali Singh to The Sultan--is now strictly European.

    As C-MIL pointed out, it's European only. It was also a little redundant as Royalty is already in the game.

    I mean, good on you for learning hex editing and all, but I know how to make clay pots and fire them in a kiln, too; I just don't do so because I suck at it.

    Very unnecessary. I was going to thank you for your feedback so that this could be improved for the community but you don't even need to be acknowledged given that you didn't even put any thought into your responses and came off like a jerk. Heck, I had someone else defending my decisions because your thought was so clearly poor.

    Oh, and don't even get me started with the implication that JYD and Harlem Heat had the same gimmick.

    I would have put Harlem Heat if that was the case. Personality-wise, they pretty much gave Booker T the same shtick as JYD when he came to WWF. Sure JYD was a powerhouse and Booker T was more athletic, but to Vince they were all just black. Same thing with Slick. Stevie Ray doing commentary on Thunder is another great example where he would talk about "Suckas gots ta know" and "yaks." I kinda didn't like this gimmick because it's so broad but its frequency is high.

    Through some careful renaming and with the use of Dalymir's Gimmick FAQ, I have revamped the gimmicks in EWR 4.2 to give some new life and to fix existing problems. I have included a color-coded Excel spreadsheet which gives all the information necessary on every gimmick's requirements. Below I have posted the change log with brief descriptions. Please read everything before throwing out complaints as this was done with A LOT of time and effort and thought. I am open to suggestions and am willing to explain why I did what I did.

    New

    ----------------

    Bad Ass -> Fantasy (Max Moon, Tekno Team 2000, etc.)

    BFG -> Emo

    Clown -> Child (Dominick, Sandman's son, etc.)

    The minimum age is still 18 but atleast this is somewhat of a workaround for having kids in games

    Coach -> Rowdy

    Braveheart is supposed to be for him but Piper isn't British so the gimmick would never work.

    Cocky -> Drunk

    I thought that fun/evil drunk as two gimmicks was unnecessary so I made a neutral drunk gimmick

    Comedian -> Radio DJ

    Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers DJ Ran from WCW

    Country Singer -> Legal Attorney

    I axed lawyer along the way and this gimmick needs high charisma so I thought it was a natural fit

    Dealer -> Sadist

    High risk gimmick so I thought it fit, especially with masochist being in the game

    Evil Clown -> Evil Clone

    I don't think there was a proper version of this in the game before

    Evil Dentist -> Troubled Man (Abyss, Mankind, Jake Roberts, etc.)

    Someone who can't deal with their troubles

    Evil Knight -> Art Is Life (Undertaker in 1999, Vampiro)

    A wrestler who thinks that they're their gimmick

    Evil Pimp -> New Money

    Someone who is rich or has inherited money but is trashy

    Evil Preacher -> Fake Babyface (Rougeaus, Kurt Angle near his debut)

    A wrestler who thinks they're a face but is hated by fans

    Evolution -> Knock-Off

    Wrestling, especially WCW, is known for its knockoffs

    Fun Drunk -> 'Animal' (Bulldogs, Jake Roberts, Koko B. Ware, etc.)

    Wrestling is also known for lots of involvement involving animals

    Glam Rocker -> High Energy

    Gothic -> Masked

    Informer -> Musician

    Journalist -> Technician

    Junkie -> Robber

    Lawyer -> Snitch

    Lumberjack -> Pretty Boy

    Man Beast -> Primitive

    This worker is more or less a caveman

    Man in Black -> Jive Brother (JYD, Booker T, Stevie Ray, etc.)

    Manic Depressive -> Past Their Prime

    Mentor -> Legend

    Standard fare legend that doesn't even have a gimmick anymore

    Ninja -> Gypsy

    Pacifist -> Jamaican

    Paper Boy -> Low Class

    Postal Worker -> Faith Beliefs (Dustin Runnels, Reverend D-Von, etc.)

    Pretentious Artist -> Muscled-Up Egotist (Masterpiece, Narcissist)

    Putz -> Vile (Bastion Booger)

    Racist -> Coarse (RVD, Shane Douglas, Scott Steiner, Rhyno, etc.)

    This wrestler is talented and charismatic but prone to swearing A LOT

    Rasta -> Irish (Finlay, Sheamus, etc.)

    Religious Zealot -> 'Mature' Villain (Se7en)

    This is a gimmick if you want someone to be something you'd find on Law & Order

    Slob -> Jerk

    Suave -> Clown

    Neutral gimmick for face or heel

    Sucka -> Power (Ted Arcidi, Hercules, Bill Kazmaier, etc.)

    Sumo -> Fuji (Mr. Fuji, Sonny Onoo, etc.)

    That 80's Guy -> Fashion Model

    The Ryland Effect -> Self Hype Machine (Ken Kennedy)

    Trash -> Giant

    Neutral gimmick

    Troublemaker -> Cheer Leader

    Neutral gimmick for Spirit Squad or Daffney

    Weirdo -> Shrink

    Psychiatrist

    White Witch -> Feisty Girl

    Violent Drunk -> No Boundaries (Jake Roberts, Kane, etc.)

    A heel that will stop at nothing to succeed

  5. Debra - 70 OVA and cheerleader?

    She was probably more over than that and you might try seductress.

    Ed Ferrera - 65 OVA and active wrestler?

    Since he never appeared on TV at all in WWF he probably should only be staff. I'd get rid of him as a worker.

    Paul Bearer - 77 OVA

    Bearer had just returned to be with Undertaker and Kane from what I remember but didn't do much. I'd say drop him down to 55-60.

    Shane McMahon - 90 OVA - yet hardly wrestles

    I'd drop that number but Shane was very popular amongst the regular crowd and smarks because everyone was fooled into thinking he was a great wrestler

    Shawn Michaels - 92 OVA, 83 Brawl, Speed 80, Tech 77, Charisma 83, Condition 100 - yet has largely been off TV since 1997 and has back pain.

    Shawn Michaels was an authority figure at the time. Change what you see fit.

    Stephanie McMahon - 85 OVA - yet was wholesome 'daddies little girl' Steph until Armegeddon 1999.

    Agreed. Too high as I'm not even sure she was even on TV yet.

    Steve Austin - 100 OVA, Brawl 90, Speed 10, Tech 75, Carisma 100, Condition 100 - yet lost a lot of technical skill, most likely condition, becoming more of a brawler following the piledriver from Owen in 97

    The gripe about condition is nullified when you realize that wrestlers in EWR gain it back with rest.

    Tori - 70 OVA and bad ass

    I'd say Obsessed Fan is most appropriate as this was her angle with Sable at the time

    Triple H - 97 OVA - Was he this popular in early 1999, separated from DX as a Corporation lackey? I wouldn't have said so until late 1999 when he won the WWF title

    If it's January 1999, he's still the head of DX. Definitely not that over but original DX was very popular.

    The Kat - 80 OVA and cheerleader

    Kat wasn't around yet.

    The Rock - 100 OVA - in early 1999 as a heel member of the Corporation?

    While he was really over, he wasn't quite a superstar yet.

    Vince Russo - 100 OVA and an active wrestler

    See Ferrara

    Vince McMahon - 100 OVA - Really? I know some people like the 'Mr. McMahon' character and all, but to rate it the same as Austin/Rock and higher than Shawn Micheals, Kane, Undertaker, Mankind,

    I'd lower if it if you want but this was during him winning the Royal Rumble and facing Austin in the next month's PPV. There'd be no Austin/McMahon without McMahon.

    All in all use your best judgment as people are generally not thorough with the scenarios.

  6. You do realise that all you've done is change the names of the gimmicks? They'll still have the same requirements as before, so this is going to be completely skewed and unrealistic. Someone will need the stats to be a "Postal Worker" to class as a "Living Legend" or "Informer" to work a "Canadian" gimmick...all a bit of a waste of time if you ask me.

    And you can't add new matches into EWR without obtaining the source code, which Ryland has long since claimed to no longer own. Whether that's true or not, you're not getting hold of it.

    You want new matches? Buy TEW.

    Even though it was three years ago...you do realize that I put just a bit more thought into this than you did right?

    The two examples you gave me do not conflict with the renamings. I took Dalymir's work on gimmick requirements into consideration.

  7. **New Download Coming**

    This is my hex edited version of the EWR 4.2 to create some new gimmicks and fix some existing problems with gimmick requirements.

    If any of your workers are using gimmicks that have been replaced, they will now have the new ones. Change them accordingly as you may have had someone as an Informer that will now be Canadian for example.

    This is my hex edited version of the EWR Program.

    I have obtained permission from Adam Ryland.

    It's the regular EWR 4.2 program, but I've simply changed text. All the inner workings have stayed the same. Nothing has been technically added or removed that wasn't there before. I have just replaced names, descriptions, and examples.

    If any of your workers are using gimmicks that have been replaced, they will now have the new ones. It's up to you to fix it. If you need gimmick requirements, look up the old gimmick for the one you're interested in, and use those requirements. Descriptions are in the game where they usually are. Old gimmicks are in parentheses.
