  1. I had completely forgotten this one came out... glad to hear though it was better than the second one. I thought the first was great and a real good throwback to Futurama episodes, but Beast with a Billion Backs was pretty meh for me.

  2. I can't imagine they would. He has a good record in the past, but in the last couple years he's been nothing short of disappointing. Granted he's lost against three top 10 talents, but I don't think he's going to get the Silva or Rampage treatment. His last three wins are against two overmatched Korean fighters and Marvin Eastman, not terribly impressive.

  3. Not a good start. A really bad episode. It wasn't even about being uncomfortable, because that's what South Park is about, the content just wasn't funny. The whole Cartman/Butters plot felt added on at the last second just to fill time and Butters shooting people in the crotch as the main on-going joke of the episode (aside from the rape) just wasn't funny. I thought it was a good idea to take on the Indiana Jones movie, especially when it was revealed that the rape was the movie, but nothing else clicked. The repeated rape scenes and people crying wasn't funny, Cartman and Butters in P.F. Chang's wasn't funny. Very poor episode.

  4. Double post, but whatever.

Gina Carano had trouble AGAIN making weight last night, but on her third try did hit 141 pounds.

And Ken Shamrock came in at 206.5 pounds. I don't know if Shamrock was trying to cut weight, or if he just came in that light. He came in around 220 if I remember correctly for his Cage Rage fight against Robert Berry, so what happened? If he is actually weighing in at 206 for heavyweight fights without cutting at all, just go back to light heavyweight, it makes no sense.

  5. UFC 92 (the year end, December show in Las Vegas) currently features:

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir (UFC Heavyweight Titlte)

Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans (UFC Light Heavyweight Title)

    Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva

Plus Yushin Okami vs. Dean Lister, in what I would assume is a #1 contender's fight to see who challenges Anderson Silva next.

  6. UFC announced on January 17th (the same day as Affliction's next show...) they'll be going back to Ireland, this time in Dublin. On the slate right now is:

Rich Franklin vs. Dan Henderson @ Light Heavyweight.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Mark Coleman @ Heavyweight.

  7. Would Urijah Faber make it in the UFC? I have a strong feeling he would and that he is past due to be called up to the big leagues. Opinions?

Well, do you mean aside from the fact that he'd be moving up a weight class and would be undersized? I think he's got a well-rounded enough game and strong enough wrestling to do all right, but I don't think he would fare very well against the top 10 or so lightweights in UFC.

  8. I watched a good couple hours of it today. I really don't have much to add other than the fact that I am excited that the U.S. has a pretty big lead, albeit after only one day. Plus, I'm really excited to watch Anthony Kim develop over the next few years and see what kind of golfer he becomes.

  9. Cal has played piss poor so far, absolutely terrible. Offense has been really, really bad, defense has been even worse. Just embarrassing. I know it's tough, it's an early game on the east coast, but come on.

My Blue Hens held Maryland to 14 points in the whole game. Clearly, UD's defense is better than Cal's defense. :shifty: Clairely.

And Cal's defense was supposed to be the one thing we had an idea of what to expect from this season. Just ridiculous. But Nevada is only losing to Missouri by a touchdown! ...yeah.

Oh, and that was a nice job of Kevin Riley leaving Jahvid Best out to dry on a screen pass.

And that was a nice shot of Jahvid lying on the ground, puking. Looks like he just got the wind knocked out of him hopefully...

  10. White confirmed it will be Forrest Griffin defending vs. Rashad Evans. No date announced, though. But I am sure that even if UFC probably wanted Liddell to win, they can at least continue to shut up those haters of TUF (are there still any of them? I don't really read other MMA forums) with a battle of season 1 winner vs. season 2 winner for the Light Heavyweight title.

They're saying Griffin/Evans could be at UFC 92 in December.
  11. I know it was against Washington State, but Cal absolutely kicked the shit out of them today. Jahvid Best is a freak and will hopefully get some national recognition now, he is sick on the field.

And a disappointing showing from my Nevada Wolf Pack who lost to Texas Tech. 6 field goal attempts, if even just two of those had become touchdowns, the game would have been entirely different down the stretch. I was not impressed with Tech at all. Harrell looked extremely flat and was either underthrowing or throwing everything behind his receivers.

  12. Plus, didn't Nog get a title shot after a decision victory Herring? Why can't Lesnar get one too?

Because Nogueira didn't need 3 or 4 victories in UFC to get a title shot due to his past history of work. He got his one win that he needed to familiarize the fans with him, and got the title shot.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I don't think someone deserves a title shot after only one match in an organization. They should do what Cro Cop did and fight a couple of times first. No way does Brock deserve a title, but it Nog gets one after beating Herring, than there's no reason why Brock shouldn't get one either.

Fair enough, but comparing Nogueira to Lesnar simply because they both beat a common opponent is pushing it a bit, in my opinion. And I know you're not comparing them directly in terms of talent or skill, but Nogueira has obviously accomplished a lot more than Lesnar had. But back to the subject, Anderson Silva and Quinton Jackson?
