  1. I'll be honest - I really like the album. From the edgier closer-to-old Guns stuff of Chinese Democracy, Shackler's Revenge and I.R.S. through to the more balladic (is that a word) efforts in Madagascar and Catcher in the Rye they do kick quite a lot of ass.

I really can't think of any actually poor songs on the album. Sure there's some filler, but all in all I think Axl (and his 50 million helpers :)) have put together an album worth remembering.

Here's hoping for CD democracy tour nearby (last time they toured they only played 1, maybe 2 songs of it).

The last time I saw them in 06 they played The Blues(Street of dreams now :o), the title track, madagascar(All 3 we're played in 02 though), IRS, Better, and There Was a Time(At the first hammerstein show I was at). So they played a few more then 1 or 2, but I agree, I hope to hear Sorry/CITR/Rhiad etc during the next tour.

  2. Huh, should see a change then, does your TV have a game mode or whatever their calling it now? Might be something with that if you have one. I know on my sony I have to have something like 50 -45 for calibration or I couldn't pass easy :P

  3. The only thing I don't like about it is the auto-calibration feature, as before I was running on the default settings of zero. It changed it, and I had all sorts of problems on the solos and fast sections. Calibrated manually, still had troubles. So I switched it back to the default settings, and now everything is fine. Just didn't really seem to help that well in calibrating for me personally, I'm sure it's helped other people though.

Do you have an HD tv? Thats what the calibration is for.

  4. Please tell me I'm doing it wrong, and the pedal doesn't cane your feet after mere minutes of playing?

I have to keep switching feet, it bloody hurts :(

Most likely your playing wrong. You don't want to move your leg at all really, keep it at about a 90 degree angle and only use your ankle/foot to play. Either heel up or heel down(I play with heel down, keeping the pedal pressed down between hits.) and then you should be fine after alittle bit of practice/getting used to it all.

  5. Just to jump in this conversation I've been into Guns since I can remember, started following the 'new' Guns in about 98/99 when Chinese Democracy was called 2000 Intentions. The stuff thats leaked out has been pretty damn good, T.W.A.T. is one of the best songs they've ever produced in any formation of the band. The Blues would most likely be a big hit. Chinese Democracy the song is a good throw back to the AFD era, just updated. IRS, Better, Madagascar, Rhiad are all good songs and a polished Catcher in the Rye could be a classic(Keeping Brian Mays guitar playing on the track would be a huge plus). I just wish they could get the damn thing out to hear the rest of the material(The General, Atlas Shrugged, Prostitute, This I Love, Thyme, etc etc)

2nd on the Buckethead/Slash debate, I'm not really a fan of Buckethead himself, just don't/can't get into his solo stuff. But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the talent he has. He's a hugely gifted guitar player and can play better then Slash does. Listen to Slash with Guns in the 88-93 range and then listen to Buckethead with them playing the same songs, he absolutely kills him. Just listen the solo in Nighttrain (

) that he pulls out and it just sounds alot better then the person that help create the song :P. Not bashing Slash, he can play, I just don't think he's in Bucketheads league.
  6. The physics run at 320+ FPS so you feel every little bump in the road as your playing, the graphics are good, theirs a good selection of cars(300+) but its a pure simulation between the way they handle, the way you can tune everything on your car so if you like NFS you wouldn't like this ;o.

  7. Just to mention you can make a silver account(free...) and get a free month of gold to play, alittle better then 48 hours.

Yes, but what about when that month runs out? I don't want to be creating new profiles each month.

    Thanks a bunch Triple H 86.

  8. I was at the may 12th NYC show, first show for them in almost 4 years(Which I also saw them in 2002) and the band is so much better, together then there were in 02. Axl actually looks like he's having fun again on stage and the songs are amazing. If your on the fence about seeing them, just go. Better and There Was A Time are worth going for alone.

  9. IRS is better then 95% of the music on the charts now. And Better sounds like it would kill as a single, but it cuts out about 3 secs into the chorus :(. If you do a search on some GnR boards I'm sure you'll find the links, I'd post them but GNR management seems to be looking into sites that posted the links(Or so they say, theres the rumor of them actually leeking it to get hype for a march release)

  10. Madden 2004, you could bomb it every play, but if you play this years on all pro or all madden you can't do that at all. I also like that you have to stick to the running game for it to work, not just pick a play and run like ESPN. Madden is much more realistic. And every song on the soundtrack blows, thats why you can add your own :D .

  11. Yeah you can edit the rookies in ESPN but some times they come way too good(90's, 100s!) with Madden you can have them in NCAA, they stay in that game 3/4 years then import them into Madden, much closer in stats then putting them in your self on ESPN. The progession on Madden happens every 4 games :) .
