  1. good show, althrough maybe a bit too much squeezed into a 40 minute show :P . The Punk/Sandman feud can basiclly be the same as RoH's Punk / Raven feud and they should run it IRL as well as Punk would go over as a heel huge. Althrough you maybe should have held off a Sandman / Punk confrontation till next week.

You wrote the battle royal better than what happened IRL and it would have been good to see a proper match like Crazy vs. Mamluke was on yours

  2. Yeah I know my English isn't the best, but blame the English Education system for me not having a English lesson for over 4 years now.

I do try and get my grammer and spelling right, but I occasionly miss a few things

Sweeney and Kingston are extremely confident going into ‘Hardway’ that they can take the titles as they want to show there trainer Mike Quackenbush that not only they are the best team in NWA: HVW, but also they are better than Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw.

Abyss will return to the HVW Arena this Friday night as he takes on Nate Webb. James Mitchell is furious of the treatment Abyss has received in HVW so far and will be looking for Abyss to send a message to those in charge, by destroying the fun loving Webb all over the HVW Arena. HVW TV – Episode 6

    7/10/2005

    Attendance: 203

    HVW Arena, Michigan

    TV Rating: 0.04 - 11pm

    Taped TV Show

Commentators: Brad Trechak & James Mitchell

After Trechak and Mitchell have introduced us we are shown a video highlighting the feud between El Generico and Kevin Steen.

    HVW TV – Episode 4 – 23/9/2005

Kevin Steen “Every where we have wrestled Generico I have beaten you and tonight here at NWA: High Velocity Wrestling it isn’t going to be any different. Spanky I’m coming after you in the Semi-Finals and when we meet at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ I will show you what a real superstar is.”

Steen was looking for a Swanton bomb but Generico got up first and crotched Steen to the fans delight. They were going crazy as Generico signalled for the BRAINBUSTAAAAAAA and hit it on the top turnbuckle. Steen crashed to the mat as Generico covered.

    3

Generico wins and goes on the face Spanky at ‘The Iowa Showdown’. Generico quickly escapes the ring as Steen goes crazy trying to get at him after losing to long term rival El Generico.

    ‘The Iowa Showdown’ – 24/9/2005

Spanky left the ring with ‘FIRE IN THE DISCO’ as he came away pretty much 100% from the match. As Generico slowly got up, to a nice round of applause down the aisle came Kevin Steen who rushed into the ring. He nailed Generico with a big lariat, then picked Generico put and hit the Steenalizer onto Generico, with Generico just bouncing off the turnbuckles. Steen then screamed ‘this is for last night’ and then hit the Package Piledriver landing Generico right on his neck, before leaving to the back to loud boos from the fans.

    HVW TV – Episode 5 – 30/9/2005

Kevin Steen – “El Generico, what happened on Saturday night is what you deserved. How dare you after everything we have been through take my place in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament, by lucky a win over me, I don’t think so. At ‘Hardway’ I gotten another one on one match signed between us and this time there will be a rightful winner. Next week I see you have a match with Davey Andrews, Generico. You never know what’s going to happen do you?”

After the video is over we flash back to ringside as ‘Ole, Ole, Ole’ starts to play as El Generico makes his way to the ring.

    El Generico d. Davey Andrews

A clash of styles here but it was the ‘Generic Luchadore’ El Luchadore who moved towards his big match with Kevin Steen at ‘Hardway’ with the win here. Andrews tried to use his raw power to try and knock Generico down but Generico was to fast for Andrews. After Generico had hit the running kick to Andrews he hit the BRAINBUSTAAAAAA which was enough to get the 3 count. After the match Generico was quick to leave the ring although Kevin Steen didn’t even come to ringside at all. Mitchell said Steen must be playing mind games with Generico as we went to commercial.

    Winner – El Generico

    *1/2 (5:31)

We come back from commercial and we are greeted with a ‘Message from Japan’ caption and then we see Steve Corino in front of a Zero-One banner as he starts to cut a promo on Roderick Strong.

Steve Corino“Well congratulations Roderick, you are the new HVW Heavyweight Champion. I must admit you surprised me when you beat me in the quarter finals, but I won’t make that mistake again. You see Roderick, I’m a superstar. There is no denying it. I’m the one who is going to draw the people to see our title match in three weeks time, and they are all going to see Steve Corino ‘The King of Kings’ come out on top. You see been here in Japan just shows how much people in the wrestling world respect Steve Corino and why your ‘green-ass’ isn’t going to beat me twice in a row. So at ‘Hardway’ when I return to the United States, I’m going to whip your ass all over the ring and take what is rightfully mine, the HVW Heavyweight Championship.”

Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin go to Time Limit Draw

In our HVW TV Main Event, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin went to a superb 15 minute draw which had the fans in attendance on the edge of there seats. Before commercial break Shelley and Sabin traded holds on the mat trying to get advantage. When we came back Alex Shelley was in control of the match after Sabin had missed a tope to the outside and crashed onto the mat. Shelley came close on several occasions to getting the cover on Sabin. After hitting a tornado DDT on Sabin he only got a two count and after Shellshock he got a long two count when Sabin got his foot on the rope.

As time limit was close to expiring the match got really heated. When Shelley had a Shellshock attempted blocked by Sabin and out of nowhere Sabin a Death Valley Driver on Shelley. Sabin signalled for the Future Shock but Shelley blocked and locked in the Border City Stretch, Shelley couldn’t get it hooked in right and Sabin was able to lift Shelley up and drive him down with the Future Shock. Sabin crawled slowly over to Shelley to make the cover but just as he did the time limit expired and the bell was ringed. Sabin protested that he was going to make the cover as Shelley left quietly to the back as the crowd gave a standing ovation to both men.

    Winner – Time Limit Draw

    ***1/2 (15:00)

After I quick promo video for HVW TV next week advertising a Jimmy Jacobs & Delirious vs. Sal & Vito Thomaselli in a qualifier for the Tag Team Title match at ‘Hardway’ we see Alex Shelley backstage who is staring into the camera with a smile on his face.

Alex Shelley“Chris Sabin tonight we went 15 minutes, toe for toe, tic for tat, and there could not be a decisive winner between us. Sabin, I know we came up in this business together and I know you know that I love to challenge myself. So after talking to the NWA: High Velocity Wrestling Booking Committee, I have gotten us 30 minutes. That’s right Chris at ‘Hardway’ on October 22nd we have a 30 Minute Time Limit match and this time there will be a winner. It could be you Chris, but most probably it is going to be ‘The Future’ Alex Shelley".

  4. NWA: High Velocity Wrestling – HVW TV – Episode 6 – 7/10/2005 – Preview

This week on HVW TV, number #1 contender to Roderick Strongs HVW Heavyweight Championship, Steve Corino will be delivering a message from his training camp in Japan for Roderick Strong. Corino is currently preparing for his HVW Heavyweight Championship match at ‘Hardway’ in the Zero-One Dojo in Japan, and he has heard the comments Strong made about him last week and has recorded a message for the HVW officials to play on HVW TV this week. What will Corino have to say in response to Strongs erm strong words last week?

At ‘Hardway’ the first ever HVW Tag Team Champions will be crowned in a four team elimination match. The first two teams entered into this match are ‘The Future of Pro Wrestling’ of Eddie Kingston and Larry Sweeney who despite not picking up a victory so far have looked impressive in action. The second team is James Gibson and Spanky who is now back from Japan and is ready to team with regular partner James Gibson. Of course last week James Gibson tagged with Chris Sabin as they defeated one of his and Spankys there opponents in this match ‘The Future of Pro Wrestling’ on HVW TV. More teams to be announced in the coming weeks.

Elsewhere this week on HVW TV we will see an exciting match up as Chris Sabin will take on Alex Shelley. Will Sabin be able to make it two wins in two weeks on HVW TV or will Alex Shelley shoot himself into title contention. Our other match this week will see young rookie Davey Andrews take on El Generico. With Generico/Steen II signed for ‘Hardway’ Generico will have to have his eyes open all night, as Kevin Steen has promised to make further attacks on Generico after leaving him lying at ‘The Iowa Showdown’. So tune in at 11pm Friday night in you local networks in the Midwest area as the build towards ‘Hardway’ continues.

  5. Review of September 2005

    Company Standing

At the beginning of September NWA: High Velocity Wrestling was the 10th biggest wrestling company in North America just ahead of IWA:MS and just behind UPW at Regional Level of 75%.

At the beginning of October NWA: High Velocity Wrestling was the 7th biggest wrestling company in the North America just ahead of PWG and just behind AAA at Regional Level of 84%.

    Roster Report

In the month of September Delirious, Daizee Haze, Matt Sydal, Sal Rinauro, Larry Sweeney and Mike Quackenbush were added to the NWA: HVW roster. With no outgoings that leaves the total roster at 32.

There were no injures in September, but Alex Shelley, Steve Corino and Spanky missed the September 30th show as they were touring in Japan with Zero-One at that time.

Eddie Kingston and Larry Sweeney ‘The Future of Pro Wrestling’ have formed a nice team according to Road Agents while Chris Sabin is looking to work an angle with Alex Shelley in the future. Many thought Roderick Strong had too much to handle at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ nearly carrying the show on his own.

    The Best, Highest and Hottest

The best match in the month of September was Spanky defeating Chris Sabin on HVW TV – Episode 3 in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Quarter Finals. Scott Keith rated the match at ***1/4 with a hot overall rating of 75%.

The highest rated show of September was ‘The Iowa Showdown’ which scored a 59% rating overall with Steve Corino defeating Abyss and Chris Sabin in a number #1 contendership match scoring the highest rating at 70% with Scott Keith rating it at **1/2.

The highest rated segment in September was Steve Corinos prematch interview towards Roderick Strong which earned an 83% rating. Corino has so far been gold on the mic scoring some 20% higher rating then most of the roster.

The hottest feud in NWA: HVW is currently between El Generico and Kevin Steen which is currently at 59% heat. So far on HVW TV – Episode 4, before the duo faced each other in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Quarter Finals, Steen said he would beat Generico in NWA: HVW like he has everywhere else in the world. Then in what some say a shocking result, Steen was beaten by Generico. To gain revenge after Spanky defeated El Generico in the Semi Finals at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ Steen brutalised Generico in the ring. Then on the 5th episode of HVW TV Steen confirmed a rematch between himself and Generico will take place on October 22nd at 'Hardway'. This one is going to be hot.

    Television

The following ratings for the 5 HVW TV shows in September were

    Local Networks - HVW TV – Episode 1 – 9pm – 0.01

    Local Networks - HVW TV – Episode 2 – 9pm – 0.01

    Local Networks - HVW TV – Episode 3 – 11pm – 0.04

    Local Networks - HVW TV – Episode 4 – 11pm – 0.04

    Local Networks - HVW TV – Episode 5 – 11pm – 0.04

With BCW TV and High Impact established at 9pm on a Friday, HVW TV suffered and was going to be thrown off the Local Networks after poor 0.01 ratings in the first two shows. However a switch to 11pm has taken away the competition and given a 400% increase in the ratings. Empire Sports have offered a Prime Time slot for 12 weeks to HVW however with no guarantee of a extension plus lack of talent for a two hour show and not enough money for expansion at this early stage it is to be rejected and HVW TV will stay on Local Networks for the current time been at 11pm.

  6. NWA: High Velocity Wrestling

    HVW TV – Episode 5

    30/9/2005

    Attendance: 201

    HVW Arena, Michigan

    TV Rating: 0.04 - 11pm

    Taped TV Show

Commentators: Brad Trechak & James Mitchell

The show starts off with ‘Grinspoons – Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck’ playing, as the new HVW Heavyweight Champion, Roderick Strong comes down to ringside with the belt over his shoulder but in casual gear. Strong looks in good shape as he takes the mic, while the fans applaud him for the effort he put in at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ which will be available on DVD early next week.

Roderick Strong“Last Saturday night, was with out of doubt the hardest night of my career. I defeated Alex Shelley first, but injured my arm severely, then in the finals against Spanky, I was close to tapping out with my arm in so much agony, but I was able to pick myself up hit Spanky with the Spinning Backbreaker and win the HVW Heavyweight Championship.”

The crowd once again clap, Roderick Strong as he continues talking.

Roderick Strong“Finally I had won a major title on the independent scene, all the taunts I heard from the crowd and guys in the back like Steve Corino, that I was just a big green, out of shape wrestler could disappear. Corino I know your listening tonight, I beat you in the quarter finals, and at ‘Hardway’ I will beat you again, and send your ass running back to Japan. However tonight, I’m not here to talk about Steve Corino.”

Roderick Strong now has a more menacing look on his face as he begins talking again.

Roderick Strong“Dan Maff, I know your suspended from television, but I know you will be watching. So get your two little beady eyes and fix them straight at your television set. When you hit the ring last Saturday night, ruining the greatest moment of my life, damn I was pissed off. I wanted to get back at you so much it clouded my judgement, and I admit it you beat my ass down. Let’s not forget however I had just defeated two of the greatest wrestlers in this country, with a busted arm.

You can claim all you like that you’re a real champion, that you had all your titles take away from you, and you can keep bitching like the little girl that you are. At ‘Hardway’ I know you will be in the building and the ‘Messiah of the Backbreaker’ is going to be 100% and after I take care of Steve Corino, I’m going to hunt you down and kick your ass. This goes out to everybody, Steve Corino, Dan Maff whoever you are; you are not going to take the HVW Heavyweight Championship away from me.”

Strong leaves the ring after posing with the title for a bit to the crowd sending out a strong message as we cut to commercial.

We come back from commercial break to see Sal E. Graziano come down the aisle followed by Vito, Sal and Brandon Thomaselli, they wait on the aisle and point to the entrance ramp when out comes Sal Rinauro, a great young talent from the local area, however he won’t be competing tonight as it will be Brandon Thomaselli taking on young Shane Matthews

Brandon Thomaselli (w/Sal E. Graziano, Sal Rinauro, Sal Thomaselli & Vito Thomaselli) d. Shane Matthews

Brandon Thomaselli made short work of young Shane Matthews in this one. Matthews did his best, but constant distractions by members of the Thomaselli Family on the outside made it impossible for Matthews to get any advantage. The closest he came to getting the win was when he telegraphed a backbody drop and went for a sunset flip and got a two count. Brandon picked up the win when he caught Matthews on the top rope, and then hit a superplex to take him down. Brandon then hit the Sicilian Plex on Matthews which enabled him to get the 3 count. After the match Matthews was jumped by all the Thomaselli Family, with Rinauro nearly breaking Shanes neck with the Phoenix Fury Leg Drop. The Thomaselli’s left, with Brandon saying ‘you’re going to get it Jimmy’ as we flashed to a taped interview.

    Winner – Brandon Thomaselli

    *1/2 (5:39)

We are shown a taped interview from Kevin Steen as he talks about his problems with El Generico.

Kevin Steen“El Generico, what happened on Saturday night is what you deserved.

Chris Sabin & James Gibson d. The Future of Pro Wrestling

We came back from our final commercial break of the evening to see a good tag match, to finish off HVW TV this week. With Spanky in Japan, Chris Sabin was lining up as James Gibsons partner and worked really well together to defeat the self proclaimed ‘Future of Pro Wrestling’. After a good start by the faces, Kingston and Sweeney managed to get Gibson into there corner and work over him together. Kingston came close to pinning Gibson after a big Yakuza Kick and Sweeney who hit a big frogsplash on Gibson had to have Sabin break up the pinfall for him.

When Kingston went for a second Yakuza Kick, Gibson was able to duck and come back with a lariat. Both men slowly crawled to the corners and Sabin and Sweeney were tagged in. Sabin cleared house, hitting big dropkicks on both Sweeney and Kingston. Gibson was now up as all four men were brawling in the ring. Sabin took out Kingston with a big superkick to the head sending him tumbling to the outside. Gibson hooked in the front Guillotine choke on Sweeney and he had no choice but to tap out. Kingston dragged Sweeney to the back as this new popular team of Chris Sabin and James Gibson celebrated with the fans as the show comes to an end.

Winner – Chris Sabin & James Gibson

    **1/2 (9:39)

  7. Thanks for all the kind words, I do appreciate it (Y)

    NWA: High Velocity Wrestling – HVW TV – Episode 5 – 30/9/2005 – Preview

Roderick Strong is the HVW Heavyweight Champion; we repeat Roderick Strong is the HVW Heavyweight Champion. What happened at the end of ‘The Iowa Showdown’ involving Dan Maff was not at all sanctioned by the NWA: HVW officials and we apologize for any confusion what may have occurred. As a result of what has happened we are extending Dan Maffs suspension from HVW TV indefinitely and he will not be seen until ‘Hardway’ on October 22nd in Iowa.

At ‘Hardway’ Roderick Strong will make his first defence of the HVW Heavyweight Championship which he won at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ by defeating Alex Shelley and then Spanky against Number #1 Contender Steve Corino who ironically Strong defeated in the quarter finals on the way to his title. Will Corino be able to gain revenge on Strong after coming off a big win over TNAW stars Abyss and Chris Sabin or at ‘Hardway’ will Corino once again fall victim to the ‘Messiah of the Backbreaker’ Roderick Strong. We will find out the views of HVW Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong this week on HVW TV as he will be in the house.

Defeat to Jigsaw and Mike Quackenbush has not done anything to stop the huge egos of Eddie Kingston and ‘Sweet & Sour’ Larry Sweeney. The duo have dubbed themselves the ‘Future of Pro Wrestling’ and demanded themselves a match with two huge stars. NWA: HVW officials granted there request and were due to take on regular partners James Gibson and Spanky. However with Spanky in Japan at the moment with Zero-One, Chris Sabin will be partnering Gibson. ‘The Future of Pro Wrestling’ really have there work cut out if they are to defeat two huge stars in Sabin and Gibson before then looking to take aim at Jigsaw and Mike Quackenbush again.

Also on this weeks HVW TV we will see the Thomaselli’s in full force as Brandon goes in singles action against youngster Shane Matthews. The Thomaselli’s who had an impressive win over rival Jimmy Jacobs who had teamed with Delirious and Matt Sydal at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ have stated they have boosted there ranks significantly with a new member of ‘the family’ and he will be there at ringside this Friday night with them. Who could it be? All this plus more is planned for this weeks HVW TV, which you can catch at 11pm on your local networks in the Midwest Area.

    Confirmed for HVW TV – Episode 5 – 30/9/2005

HVW Heavyweight Champion, Roderick Strong to appear

Chris Sabin & James Gibson vs. The Future of Pro Wrestling

Brandon Thomaselli (w/Sal E. Graziano, Sal Thomaselli, Vito Thomaselli & ?? ?? ??) vs. Shane Matthews

  8. NWA: High Velocity Wrestling

    The Iowa Showdown

    24/9/2005

    Attendance: 1183

    Guthrie Centre, Iowa

    Live Event – 7pm

Commentators: Brad Trechak & James Mitchell

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Semi Final 2

    Spanky d. El Generico

Television works. Well that what it seems as a massive 1183 fans turned out to ‘The Iowa Showdown’ from the Guthrie Centre as the first ever HVW Heavyweight Champion will be crowned. After Trechak and Mitchell welcomed us after running down the card we were met with a great opening match. As Spanky advanced to tonight’s main event after a great match with the youngster El Generico. Both men were over with the fans as the atmosphere in the crowd was hot, but no one was surprised it was Spanky that picked up the win.

After Generico had gone for a BRAINBUSTAAAAA which was blocked by Spanky, Spanky was able to hit a step-up enziguri on Generico. Generico was dazed and Spanky grabbed his head and then hit the Sliced Bread #2 and covered for the 3 and to advance to the finals.

Winner – Spanky (Spanky advances to the Finals)

    ***1/4 (13:03)

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Semi Final 1

    Roderick Strong d. Alex Shelley

In what some might consider a surprise, Roderick Strong advanced to the finals to meet Spanky in a great hard fought battle. Strong and Shelley gave it there all, but Shelley who had clamed that Strong couldn’t ware him down with his backbreakers was wrong, as Strong went for one at every opportunity. Despite the fact that Shelley hooked Strong in the Border City Stretch for over a minute in what everyone and there mother thought was the finish, Shelley couldn’t hold on due to his back been injured and when Shelley went for a Shellshock,

Strong was able to counter with a spinebuster and then he locked in the Boston Crab on Shelley and wrenched in hard and Shelley had no choice but to tap. Strong just smiled, as Shelley held his lower back in agony. Strong however had hurt his arm after been in the Border City Stretch and that could become a factor in the finals later tonight.

Winner – Roderick Strong (Strong advances to the Finals)

    *** (15:08)

Jigsaw & Mike Quackenbush d. Eddie Kingston & Larry Sweeney

Eddie Kingstons decision to let Jigsaw choose his own partner from Chikara looked an even worse one then before as Jigsaw along with Chikara head trainer Mike Quackenbush picked up the victory here. Both Sweeney and Quack were making there NWA: HVW debuts here and not all the fans were familiar with them, but they will be after this match as Mike Quackenbush picked up the victory for his team when he hit the Black Tornado Slam on Sweeney and covered for the 3. Kingston can take heart in the fact that when he had Jigsaw in the ring he was pretty dominant over him and will be looking to get him in the ring in singles action sooner rather than later.

Winners - Jigsaw & Mike Quackenbush

    * (7:43)

    Number #1 Contendership Match

Steve Corino (w/Team Corino) d. Chris Sabin & Abyss (w/James Mitchell)

James Mitchell left the commentary booth to be by the side of Abyss for this one leaving Trechak on his own to see Steve Corino become the Number 1# Contender for the HVW Heavyweight Championship. The crowd were pumped for this match with all three been big names with national TV exposure. Early on Corino and Sabin worked together to keep the big man Abyss down who by far was the biggest man in the match. All in all the match wasn’t so good with Corino and Abyss basically just brawling with Sabin bouncing off them with dropkicks and such.

The finish came when Abyss went for a Black Hole Slam on Sabin, Sabin span around and landed on his feet. Then Corino and Sabin on the same page hit a double superkick on Abyss and he went tumbling on the outside. Corino then grasped his opportunity and grabbed Sabin and hit the Old School Explosion on Sabin and covered for the three. Mitchell instructed Abyss to the back as he looked annoyed with him for not getting the job done while Team Corino celebrated in the ring as Corino earned a title shot for the October 22nd event.

Winner – Steve Corino (Corino gets title shot on 22/10/05)

    **3/4 (17:40)

    James Gibson d. Kevin Steen

With no time for backstage interviews and shenanigans with a lot of matches to get through tonight we continued the show with yet another great match as two HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament losers went one on one in a great match. Steen who of course earlier beat down El Generico in the middle of the ring, was getting booed all match, while Gibson or course was super over. While James Mitchell complained about Abyss not winning in the last match both men in the ring gave it there all and both had lots of close pinfalls. When Gibson hit the Tiger Driver he got a two count, while Steen also got a two count when he hit the Steenalizer.

The finish came when Steen hit a big lariat on Gibson. Steen signalled for the Package Piledriver, but Gibson fought it and Steen had to just toss Gibson to the mat. Steen picked Gibson up and this time went for the Steenalizer but Gibson managed to grab Steens head and reverse it into the front Guillotine choke. Steen ran to the turnbuckle to try and get Gibson off, but Gibson held on, and took Steen to the mat who had no choice but to tap out giving Gibson the win. Both Gibson and Steen looked good in this one and despite Gibson getting the win; Steen will be looking to build on this impressive performance in the future.

    Winner – James Gibson

Brandon, Sal & Vito Thomaselli (w/Sal.E Graziano) d. Jimmy Jacobs, Delirious & Matt Sydal (w/Daizee Haze)

The Thomaselli’s showed once again there collective strength, as they beat three top names in the independent scene in a six-man tag match. The match was a bit sloppier then expected and didn’t really get going. The main portion of the match was the three Thomaselli’s keeping Jacobs in there corner but he managed to get the hot tag and all hell broke lose. The finish came when Jimmy Jacobs hit the Contra Code on Vito Thomaselli and through he had the win, but Sal Thomaselli broke the cover up and tossed Jacobs to the outside onto Sydal who had been dumped there. Delirious then dropkicked Sal to the outside but turned round into Brandon who hit the Air Raid Crash on Delirious and covered for the 3. As The Thomaselli’s left, Brandon slapped Jacobs who was laid out on the floor on his way past as once again they got the better of Jimmy Jacobs.

Winner - Brandon, Sal & Vito Thomaselli

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Final

    Roderick Strong vs. Spanky

Roderick Strong is out first to boos from the crowd as they are firmly behind Spanky who gets a great ovation from the crowd in the Guthrie Centre as ‘FIRE IN THE DISCO’ is heard around the arena. Roderick Strong has his arm bandaged after Alex Shelley injured it earlier on tonight. With both men standing in the middle of the ring a ref trundles down with the new HVW Heavyweight Championship belt. He holds it up in the middle of the ring as Spanky looks up towards Roderick Strong who dwarfs him almost as the match gets underway.

The duo have a stare down and both walk away from each other. Spanky starts with trying to grapple with Strong, but several times Strong pushed Spanky down to the mat as Spanky gets frustrated. Spanky this time jumps up at Strong and locks in a headlock. Strong pushes Spanky to the ropes and swings for a lariat but Spanky ducks and runs through and goes for a crossbody, but Strong catches and drives him down onto his knee and hits a backbreaker and covers for a 2.

A short powerbomb by Roderick Strong left Spanky down on the mat and Strong hits another one as Spanky is getting punished by Roderick Strong. Spanky applied a hammerlock to Roderick Strong which was easily brushed off by Strong who through Spanky through the ropes to the outside. Strong follows Spanky to the outside, and goes for a POWERBOMB ON THE OUTSIDE but Spanky blocks it by biting Strongs head and then pushes Strong into the steel ring post.

Spanky now having Strong at his mercy on the outside, stamped away on Strong before rolling him back into the ring. Spanky measured Strong up and hit the step up enziguri

Strong kicked out, but Spanky had caught him right on the back of his head. Spanky then locked in an armbar on the bandaged arm of Strong and pulled up viciously. Strong screamed in pain, as he tried to kick out at Spanky. It was over a minute before Strong managed to crawl to the ropes and Spanky had to give up the hold, but had the damage already been done. It appeared so as Spanky dropkicked Strongs arm and Strong fell to the mat. Spanky climbed to the top rope and went for a frogsplash and hit it.

Strong just kicked out. The fans were going wild as Spanky signalled it was over and pointed to the corner as Sliced Bread #2 was going to be busted out. Spanky grabbed Strongs head and ran to the corner but Strong put his breaks on and Spanky had to stop himself. Spanky leaped up onto the ropes, and bounced back and went for a hurricanrana but Strong caught him and HIT A HUGE POWERBOMB right onto the lower back of Spanky. Strong picked up Spankys legs and locked in the Boston Crab. This was the move that made Alex Shelley tap out earlier in the night. Spanky screamed in agony as Strong wrenched his knee further into the back.

    Spanky raised up his arm

    He thought about tapping out

But Spanky using all his might

Slammed his hand on the mat and used his legs to power out of the hold.

Both men were now injured and slowly up as the fans were on there feet. They trade slow lefts and rights with each other, but Spanky gets the advantage and kicks Strong in the gut and HITS SLICED BREAD #2

Spanky is slow to get up and Strong grabs him from behind in a full nelson and with HUGE VELOCITY HITS THE SPINNIGN BACKBREAKER. Spanky was almost broken in half.

Strong is handed the HVW Heavyweight Championship and the show ends with Roderick Strong holding the HVW Heavyweight Championship up in the middle of the ring.

    BANG

Roderick Strong goes down to the mat. DAN MAFF IS IN THE RING. Maff has a steel chair in his hand and delivers two more shots to Strong as the new HVW Heavyweight Champion is down in the middle of the ring after Maff has come through the crowd. A huge amount of ring officials and security run down and try and usher Dan Maff out of the ring and succeed in doing so.

Winner – Roderick Strong (Strong wins HVW Heavyweight Championship)

    **3/4 (15:34)

Roderick Strong“YOU SON OF A BITCH.”

With Dan Maff still fighting to get back into the ring with the security, Roderick Strong had grabbed a mic and shouted towards Dan Maff and Strong has gotten his attention.

Roderick Strong“I’m not going to let the proudest night of my life, be left in the memories of all these fans, with me been laid out in the middle of the ring. Finally I’m a real champion and champions don’t get laid out so if you have a problem with me GET YOUR FUCKING ASS back in the ring so I can kick your ass right now.”

Strong throws the mic down and picks up the title and points at it and then uses his hand to signal Maff into the ring. Maff is let go from security and picks up the mic.

Dan Maff“Before all this shit happened to me, I was a fucking champion all over the United States. I had to let go of all my titles and then when I come back you won’t even let me on TV anymore. Fuck you, I will show you what a real champion looks like.”

Dan Maff nails Strong with the mic as we have a match and it maybe for the HVW Heavyweight Championship

    HVW Heavyweight Championship ?? ?? ??

    Dan Maff vs. Roderick Strong

Maff stamps away on Strong as a ref runs down to ring the bell. Maff continues to stamp away on Strong and then picks him up and start chopping him. The crowd are going wild as Maff goes for the Cannonball on Strong but Strong moves out of the way and Maff crashes into the turnbuckles. Strong gets up and picks up the HVW Heavyweight title and runs at Maff with it but Maff ducks and then hits a big yakuza kick on Strong who falls to the mat. Maff signals it is over and picks Strong up and HOLY SHIT BURNING HAMMER ON THE TITLE BELT. Strong is dead

  9. NWA: High Velocity Wrestling – ‘The Iowa Showdown’ – 24/9/2005 – Preview

Saturday night will see the conclusion of the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament as NWA: High Velocity Wrestling presents ‘The Iowa Showdown’. Alex Shelley, El Generico, Roderick Strong and Spanky the final four constants in the tournament all go into tomorrow night full of confidence and sure they can take the title. All this plus much more is promised at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ and we hope you can be there and if not it will be out on VHS and DVD next week.

The HVW Heavyweight Champion will be crowned

First James Gibson, then Steve Corino, next Chris Sabin and finally Kevin Steen. Four top wrestlers have already been eliminated from the HVW Heavyweight Championship in the quarter finals on HVW TV shows. On Saturday night the tournament will conclude with the semi-finals and finals of the tournament as we found out who the first ever HVW Heavyweight Champion will be.

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Semi Final 1

    Alex Shelley vs. Roderick Strong

After defeating James Gibson, Alex Shelley is full of confidence going into his semi-final match with Roderick Strong. He said this himself on the last HVW TV when in a taped interview, said he wouldn’t let Strong break him down with his backbreakers. However if Steve Corino fell to the raw power of Roderick Strong what can Alex Shelley do differently to make sure he is not another victim of the ‘The Master of the Backbreaker’ Roderick Strong?

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Semi Final 2

    El Generico vs. Spanky

The rank outsider of the tournament El Generico managed to get to the semi finals with a great victory over rival Kevin Steen. However Spanky will be a much tougher prospect for Generico to get past. Spanky has already put out multiple TNAW X Division Champion Chris Sabin, and is favourite to win the tournament, after having the easiest draw and the most experience of all four men left in the tournament. If Spanky gets past Generico, look for him to go all the way.

    Six Man Tag Team Warfare

Brandon, Sal & Vito Thomaselli (w/Sal.E Graziano) vs. Delirious, Jimmy Jacobs & Matt Sydal (w/Daizee Haze)

On the second HVW TV show Jimmy Jacobs was jumped by the Thomaselli’s after defeating Brandon in a one on one contest. Jacobs needed five stitches in his head after that match and swore revenge on the Thomaselli’s by challenging them to a six man tag match. Jacobs said he would find some partners and he has found some good ones in Delirious and Matt Sydal, but will that be enough to get past the Thomaselli’s who have shown on the first two HVW TV shows that with Sal.E guiding them, they do have strength in numbers.

    Number #1 Contendership Match

Abyss (w/James Mitchell) vs. Chris Sabin vs. Steve Corino (w/Team Corino)

A surprising exclusion from the HVW Heavyweight Championship tournament James Mitchell has stated his monster Abyss, will go on a rampage for this reason. He showed in his singles match on the first HVW show when he defeated Jigsaw in brutal fashion he means business. Sabin and Corino both losers in the HVW Heavyweight Championship tournament have a chance to redeem themselves by earning a shot on October 22nd at the next big show but can they get past the monster, in this one fall to a finish match?

    Chikara Tag Match

Eddie Kingston & Larry Sweeney vs. Jigsaw & Mike Quackenbush

Chikara comes to NWA: HVW in this tag team match. On HVW TV episode 3 we saw Eddie Kingston defeat Nate Webb and then claim he is the best wrestler from Chikara in NWA: HVW and says Jigsaw just followed him here on his coattails. Kingston challenged Jigsaw to a tag match and selected ‘Sweet & Sour’ Larry Sweeney for his partner to try and take Jigsaw out. However Kingston was not feeling all too happy when he heard Jigsaw has chosen head trainer at Chikara, Mike Quackenbush to be his partner. Now experience is on Jigsaws team but Kingston and Sweeney are good brawlers and may have too much for Jigsaw and Quackenbush to handle.

    Special Attraction Match

    James Gibson vs. Kevin Steen

Signed late last night, a special attraction match between James Gibson and Kevin Steen has just been announced. Both slipping out of the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament, Steen and Gibson will be looking to pick up the win here as they look to launch themselves up the rankings in the NWA: High Velocity Wrestling. Steen in particular will be hoping a big win over James Gibson will make fans give him the respect he feels he deserves, but first must get over what some people say was an embarrassing loss to El Generico.

    Also in action…..

    Dan Maff to appear.

Dan Maff who after his actions on the first two HVW TV shows was suspended until ’The Iowa Showdown’ will be in the building and will be given some mic time. There is no telling what Dan Maff will have to say or do in an uncensored environment.

Well there it is, the card for ‘The Iowa Showdown’ what promises to be a great event. You will see the first ever HVW Heavyweight Champion crowned, see stars such as James Gibson, Steve Corino and Abyss in action plus heated events such as Jimmy Jacobs, Matt Sydal and Delirious in a six man tag against The Thomaselli’s. For $30 front row or $15 elsewhere on the door of the Guthrie Centre for tickets, you do not want to miss this show.

    Taped TV Show

Commentators: Brad Trechak & James Mitchell

Backstage is Kevin Steen who will tonight compete in the final HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final against long term rival El Generico in a match to see who will face Spanky in the Semi-Finals tomorrow night at ‘The Iowa Showdown’

Kevin Steen“El Generico, we have wrestled many times together. Growing up in the IWS together we wrestled. Coming down to America to CZW, PWG, RoH we wrestled together. And every where we have wrestled Generico I have beaten you and tonight here at NWA: High Velocity Wrestling it isn’t going to be any different. Spanky I’m coming after you in the Semi-Finals and when we meet at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ I will show you what a real superstar is.”

Alex Law & Ricky Landell (w/Guillotine LeGrande) d. Davey Andrews & Jay Fury

Alex Law and Ricky Landell became the first wrestlers to wrestle twice in NWA: HVW and with there second match picked up a win against fellow youngsters Andrews and Fury. The match wasn’t up to much although Andrews showed some nice powerful moves tossing Law around the ring. Landell was able to pick up the win when he made Jay Fury tap out to the Figure Four Leg Lock, while Law took Fury down on the outside. Steve Corino would obviously be pleased with his student’s victory in this tag match as we go to commercial.

Winners - Alex Law & Ricky Landell

    ½* (5:32)

We come back from commercial break and we are greeted with a ‘Recorded Over The Weekend’ message and we are with HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Semi-Finalist Alex Shelley who tomorrow night will face Roderick Strong in the semi finals.

Alex Shelley“It’s semi final time and boy am I excited. Everybody, and I mean everybody wrote me off when they saw I had James Gibson in the Quarter Finals, but when I pinned his shoulder to the mat one, two, three, I proved to everyone, what I already know, and that is I’m the best wrestler in the United States today. Now onto Roderick Strong. On Saturday Roderick, my old buddy, we are going to throw hands, you will probably try and hit me with some backbreakers, but I will beat you Roderick, no matter how many times, you hit me with one of your famous backbreakers, I will bounce back, and when I lock the Border City Stretch in tight, you will be tapping like the little bitch you are. Then I Alex Shelley will go to the final and take the HVW Heavyweight Championship.”

Once Shelley is finished we are shown an extended version of last week’s video. First showing how Alex Shelley, Roderick Strong and now Spanky got to the semi finals, then we are shown how other matches for ‘The Iowa Showdown’ were set up and a new huge match up is announced:

The crowd are screaming for Shelley to tap, but Shelley shuffles to the ropes and gets his hands there to break up the hold, but has the damage been done? Shelley blocks the suplex attempt, and locks in the Border City Stretch; Gibson however reveres this into the Trailer Hitch again. Shelley starts to rock and gets Gibson on his shoulders.

Shelley has pinned Gibson. Shelley rolls out of the ring, with a huge grin on his face and does his ‘gun shot’ towards Gibson before going to the back obviously delighted he is through to the next round.

Strong signalled it was over picked Corino up in a full nelson position and hit a sick looking Full Nelson Spinning Backbreaker driving Corino with huge velocity into his knee.

At ‘The Iowa Showdown’ I want you and your two brothers, cousins what ever the *bleeped out* you inbreed *bleeped out* are in a 6 man tag. I’ll bring my friends in to get revenge for what you did to me tonight Brandon.”

Eddie Kingston – “’King of Diamonds’ Eddie Kingston in the house, all the way from Chikara where unfortunately I was followed by a piece of crap. You see unlike me tonight defeating Nate Webb we all saw Jigsaw getting destroyed by Abyss on the debut show. Jigsaw you can’t ride on my coattails coming here and trying to make a name like Eddie Kingston has done, so at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ I want you in the ring, and I won’t be alone, you find a friend to tag with you and I will bring Larry fucking Sweeney. How do you like me now, bitch?”

We then see a ‘Just Signed’ message flash on the screen with Abyss vs. Chris Sabin vs. Steve Corino coming on afterwards and then another message saying for the Number #1 Contendership for the HVW Heavyweight Championship in Iowa on October 22nd.

After the long video we go to another commercial break

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Quarter Final 4

    El Generico vs. Kevin Steen

We come back from the final commercial break and James Mitchell goes into a long rant on how Abyss is going to win the number 1 contenders match for not been able to be in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Trechak tells Mitchell to do his job and commentate on the match as Steen comes down to the ring to a few boos. OLE, OLE, OLE, OLE, El Generico comes down as the fans clap along to his music.

Steen and Generico stare each at each other but Steen slaps Generico in the face to boos as the match gets going. A stunned El Generico fell victim to a flying clothesline and Steen covered for an early one. Generico went from a side headlock into a drop toe hold to floor Steen who punched Generico on the mat trying to get out but Generico managed to get to his feet as the two had a stand off. Steen tried to grab Generico but El Generico hit Kevin Steen with a punch then clotheslines him over the top rope.

Generico followed with a plancha dive on Steen. Generico got up and signalled for the BRAINBUSTAAAAAAA on the outside. He tried to lift Steen up, but couldn’t as Steen lifted Generico up and tossed him into the steel ring post, in a painful looking move. Generico got hit with a lariat as he slowly got up as he crashed hard on the outside of the ring. Steen rolled Generico into the ring and covered but got only a two this time

Steen started to stamp away on Generico as he clearly had the advantage. The fans were really behind Generico as Steen picked Generico up and tossed him over his shoulders with the Steenalizer sending Generico crashing into turnbuckle. The crowd started a ‘Holy Shit’ chant as Trechak said it was over.

  11. NWA: High Velocity Wrestling – HVW TV – Episode 4 – 23/9/2005 – Preview

Spanky joined Alex Shelley and Roderick Strong in the Semi-Finals of the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament to take place at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ defeating Chris Sabin in a great match last week. On the final HVW TV before ‘The Iowa Showdown’ Spanky will find out if he will take on either El Generico or Kevin Steen. Steen and Generico have met each other many times all over the North American continent, but this will be there most important battle yet with a place in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament at stake. With the two men knowing each other so well, there is really no clear favourite for progression in this one.

On the last HVW TV we all saw Eddie Kingston defeat Nate Webb and then later in the night call out Jigsaw who he claims followed him to NWA: HVW from Chikara. Kingston is looking to take Jigsaw out at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ in a Chikara tag team match. On Kingston’s team it will be ‘Sweet and Sour’ Larry Sweeney however on Jigsaws team it will be none other then head trainer of Chikara Mike Quackenbush who will be on Jigsaws team, which the ‘King of Diamonds’ is not too happy about we have heard.

Also in action this week on HVW TV will be a tag team match with Alex Law and Rick Landell taking on youngsters Davey Andrews and Jay Fury. Andrews a student of CM Punk is known for his powerful moves while Fury, a young high flyer has made a name for him self using the Enzufury to finish opponents. Remember HVW TV is at 11pm on your local networks in the Midwest area and we hope you can tune in just one day before ‘The Iowa Showdown’.

We are backstage with Spanky. Tonight in our HVW TV main event Spanky will face Chris Sabin in the 3rd HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final and we are sure Spanky has something to say about that.

Spanky“Lets look at this pattern, first James Gibson, second Steve Corino, third Spanky? I don’t think so. Everybody on the internet is saying this tournament is cursed and Spanky is going to be the third favourite to drop out. But that is not going to happen, whereas Gibson and Corino took there opponents to lightly I’m not going to make that mistake and Chris Sabin when I hit the Sliced Bread #2 I’m the one going to the semi-finals not you, so be ready.”

    Eddie Kingston d. Nate Webb

In a good 5 minute match Eddie Kingston thanks to some dubious methods. Webb who had come to the ring with his trademark ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ entrance, started off the faster ducking the big mans moves and coming close to pinning Kingston after a superkick. However ‘The King of Diamonds’ was able to pick up the win after coming back into the match with some big forearms, Kingston was able to hit a big Yakuza Kick and then hold the ropes as he pinned Webb as the Chikara alumini picked up a win as we go to the first commercial break of the night.

    Winner – Eddie Kingston

We come back from commercial break and we see highlights of Alex Shelley and then Roderick Strong winning there quarter final matches in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament en route to facing each other in the semi finals at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ on September 24th.

Mitchell informs us that Abyss will be at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ as will losing competitors in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament, Steve Corino and James Gibson and will all be in action in the ring as we go to the ring for our main event.

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Quarter Final 3

    Chris Sabin vs. Spanky

With Sabin waiting in the ring it was ‘FIRE IN THE DISCO’ as Spankys music hits and he came down the aisle with a smile on his face slapping the fans hands as he got into the ring. The two popular superstars shook hands in the middle of the ring as we got started off in tonight’s main event for a place in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Semi Finals.

Chris Sabin scored with a quick snap rana on Spanky but Spanky rolled through and gave Sabin a snap rana too but Sabin also rolled out of it and they had a stand off which popped the crowd. Sabin goes for an early cover but Spanky is out at one after a big leg lariat. Chris Sabin caught Spanky with a dropkick as he came off the ropes after ducking a clothesline from Spanky, Chris Sabin bounced off the ropes and came back with a lightning kick and a dropkick sent Spanky to the outside. Sabin measures Spanky and comes over the ropes with a twisting plancha as we go to our final commercial break of the evening.

We come back to see Spanky missing a splash off the top rope. During the break Spanky had taken advantage of the match after whipping Sabin into the guard railings on the outside as Trechak tells us what happened. Chris Sabin applied a leglock to Spanky, who managed to crawl to the ropes. Spanky shook off his leg as Sabin missed a clothesline and Spanky hit a standing enziguri right on the back of his head.

Sabin climbs the ropes as the duo brawl on the top rope. Trechak is worried about the safety of both men as they trade blows on the top rope. Sabin gets the advantage and hooks Spanky in position for the CRADLE SHOCK AND HITS IT OFF THE TOP ROPE. The impact sends Spanky right across the other side of the ring. Eddie Kingston is backstage and is in a good mood after defeating Nate Webb earlier tonight.

Eddie Kingston“’King of Diamonds’ Eddie Kingston in the house, all the way from Chikara where unfortunately I was followed by a piece of crap.

  13. NWA: High Velocity Wrestling – HVW TV – Episode 3 – 16/9/2005 – Preview

Note: NVW TV has moved to a new time of 11pm and still on Friday nights in a new shortened 40 minute program. We will still be broadcasting on local networks in the Midwest Area we hope this change doesn’t affect you.

The build-up to ‘The Iowa Showdown’ continues. We already have two confirmed matches. The first is the Semi Final of the HVW Heavyweight Championship tournament as Alex Shelley takes on Roderick Strong who defeated Steve Corino in the Quarter Finals last week in a great match. Also last week Jimmy Jacobs challenged The Thomaselli’s to a six man tag after he was jumped by them after defeating Brandon in a singles match last week on HVW TV. Jacobs has found his two partners in friends Delirious and Matt Sydal who will be accompanied by Daizee Haze in which promises to be a fast paced match with high intensity.

For this weeks HVW TV, the 3rd HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final will take place as Spanky will take on Chris Sabin. Spanky is reportedly very nervous going into this match as favourite as both James Gibson and Steve Corino went into there match as favourites and crashed out. Spanky will be looking to make sure this does not happen. Eddie Kingston will be looking to rise the card as the big brawler tries to take down the experienced and fun loving Nate Webb.

Another quick note, after Dan Maffs actions in the first two HVW TV shows, Maff has been suspended from all HVW TV shows until ‘The Iowa Showdown’ where he will be in the building. Once again 11pm, Friday night, 40 minutes, HVW TV, watch it.

    HVW TV – Episode 2

    9/9/2005

    Attendance: 192

    HVW Arena, Michigan

    TV Rating: 0.01

    Taped TV Show - 9pm

Commentators: Brad Trechak & James Mitchell

The show starts with a car pulling up outside the arena. Out first comes Guillotine LeGrande who was in the driver’s seat, who opens the back seat door for Steve Corino to come out of. Next out comes Alex Law and Ricky Landell who are holding Corinos bags as the foursome enter the building. Of course tonight Steve Corino will take on Roderick Strong in the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Finals.

Jimmy Jacobs d. Brandon Thomaselli (w/Sal.E Graziano, Sal Thomaselli & Vito Thomaselli)

The first heated incident in NWA: HVW kicked off here as Jimmy Jacobs defeated Brandon Thomaselli only to be brutally jumped by all three of the Thomaselli’s after the match with Big Sal.E watching on. The match its self was actually quite good. Jacobs was super over and popular while Brandon matched him for close to 10 minutes until Thomaselli’s attempt to hit a back suplex on Jacobs was blocked and Jacobs was able to hit the Cobra Clutch on Brandon to pick up the win.

However established last week that the Thomaselli’s will follow everything that Big Sal.E tells them to, jumped Jacobs with a brutal 3 on 1 attack, finishing him off with a 3 man spiked Piledriver with Vito and Sal holding him up Brandon jumped off the top rope spiking Jacobs right on his head. As we went to the commercial break, the Thomaselli’s looked proud at there work, as Jacobs lay down in the ring hurt.

    Winner: Jimmy Jacobs

    (9:39) *

Christopher Idol & Shane Matthews go to a no contest

We came back to the ring after the break with James Mitchell and Brad Trechak hyping up this match between two talented youngsters. Chris Idol and Shane Matthews went to a no contest after 5 minutes when Dan Maff came through the crowd to interrupt in the match. Before that Idol and Matthews had a very good fast paced match. With both men showing good mat skills both also came close to winning the match when Matthews caught Idol with a leaping tornado DDT he got a 2 count, while Idol through he could make Matthews tap out with the Chris Cross Submission but Matthews was able to get to the ropes.

5 minutes into the match, it had to be thrown out as through the crowd came Dan Maff with a steel chair in hand. Hard into the back of Idol the chair went as he went down. Matthews dropkicked Maff to no affect, as Maff picked Matthews up and tosses him into the corner. He ran to the corner and destroyed Matthews with a Cannonball into the corner. Maff dragged Matthews into the centre of the ring, as Idol was slowly getting up. Maff took Idol from behind and drove him down onto Matthews body with a Burning Hammer. Road agents and medics rushed to the ring as Maff left the ring screaming ‘I told you I would do it’ over and over again.

    Winner: No Contest

Steve Corino is backstage minutes before his quarter final match with Roderick Strong is the HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament and he is cutting a promo on Strong.

Steve Corino“Roderick Strong, just like I told you last week, I will tell you again this week. You just can’t beat ‘The King of Old School’ Steve Corino. I’ve travelled the world, and I’ve done everything. I went to ECW I was World Champion, I went to Japan and for over 5 years now I’ve been main eventing, and winning titles. Here in NWA: High Velocity Wrestling it isn’t going to be any different.

I’m going to win this HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament and there is one reason Roderick. I don’t believe the hype. That’s right I don’t believe the hype that you are the breakout start of 2005. You’re still green as the grass outside this building. You’re nothing but a punk rookie who needs knocking down a peg or two and I’m the man to do so because I’m Steve Corino, ‘The King of Old School’, your soon to be HVW Heavyweight Champion.”

After the promo we go to a commercial break.

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Quarter Final 2

Roderick Strong vs. Steve Corino (w/Team Corino)

We come back from the commercial break to see Roderick Strong coming out to quite a nice reaction but when Corino comes out the roof blows off the place as he follows his entourage of Alex Law, Ricky Landell and Guillotine LeGrande to the ring. After a lengthy intro Corino and Strong stare each other down as the match gets going when Strong sucker punches Corino as the match gets going.

Mitchell and Trechak remind us the winner of this match will face Alex Shelley at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ on September 24th after Shelley beat Gibson last week as Strong knocks Corino down with a shoulder tackle. Corino and Strong trade chops but Strong shows his raw power by knocking Corino back a few feet as the two men stood off each other to get applause from the crowd.

Roderick Strong attempted to duck a Corino lariat but put his head down to earlier allowing Corino to throw Strong to the mat and cover for a one count. Corino picked Strong up and gave him a body slam then dropped an elbow to get a two count this time. Strong rolled out of the ring to try and escape but Corino follows him. Corino chops Strong a few times and then whips him towards the guard railings but Strong reverses and Corino smashes into the railings.

Strong now finally in the match stalked Corino and after giving him several stiff boots to Corinos gut, he rammed Corinos head several times into the railings until Law and Landell tried to break it up. Corino looked weary as Strong rolled him in the ring and covered for a two as we went for our final commercial break of the night.

We come back to see Strong picking Corino up and with a deadly look on his face and picked Corino up and hit a stiff powerbomb onto his own knee driving Corinos back right into the point of the knee as Trechak explains Strong has been working Corinos back all through commercial.. Corino screamed in agony as Strong picked Corino up and signalled for the Spinning Backbreaker. Strong picked Corino up but NO OLD SCHOOL EXPLUSION, NO, reversed into a back suplex. Strong grabs Corinos legs and turns him over into his Boston Crab. Corinos in the middle of the ring with no where to go as Strong has it synched in tight.

    Corino couldn’t reach the ropes.

Strong pulled back hard on the back

    Corino screamed in agony

    Corino reached out his hand

And used it to push him away and roll out of the hold.

Corino was struggling in agony with his back shot now. Strong measured him up for the lariat, but walked straight into a superkick.

IT’S OVER, RODERICK STRONG ELIMINATED STEVE CORINO. Immediately Law, Landell and LeGrande came into the ring to check on Corino who was holding his back in agony. Strong posed to the crowd to a mixture of cheers and boos and Trechak put Strong over huge how he just brutalised a legend in Steve Corino and will now go on to face Alex Shelley at ‘The Iowa Showdown’ on September 24th in the Semi Finals. Mitchell then reminds us the 3rd quarter final next week will be between Spanky and Chris Sabin as we finish with Strong still posing to the crowd.

We go backstage to a medical room where Jimmy Jacobs is getting stitched up by a doctor after getting brutally attacked by The Thomaselli’s after he beat Brandon in the opening match of HVW TV tonight.

Jimmy Jacobs “You see this Brandon. Five stitches in my forehead and a mild concussion you stupid sonofabitch. At ‘The Iowa Showdown’ I want you and your two brothers, cousins what ever the *bleeped out* you inbred *bleeped out* are in a six man tag. I’ll bring my friends in to get revenge for what you did to me tonight Brandon.”

    NWA: High Velocity Wrestling – HVW TV – Episode 2 – 9/9/2005 – Preview

Last week on the historic first ever episode of HVW TV, Alex Shelley beat James Gibson to go to ‘The Iowa Challenge’ on September 24th with a place in HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Semi Final. This Friday on HVW TV Shelleys opponent will be decided as in the 2nd Quarter Final Roderick Strong will take on Steve Corino. Corino who in a taped interview said there was no way Strong will ever beat him, but he will have to look out for the dangerous Strong whose backbreakers have destroyed many opponents in 2005.

Another matches signed is Brandon Thomaselli taking on Jimmy Jacobs. Last week Sal and Vito defeated Alex Law and Ricky Landell in a tag match. The Thomaselli’s along with ‘The Don’ Sal.E Graziano will be looking to make it two for two in matches but must know that Jimmy Jacobs will put up more than a fight then Law and Landell did last week and it promises to be an exciting match.

Elsewhere it will be a battle of the youngsters as NWA: HVW are giving two young guns a chance to impress. Christopher Idol will be hoping his superior technical skills will be enough to beat Shane Matthews whose high flying action in Canada has impressed all. Will these two youngsters be able to break out in NWA: HVW? Last week Dan Maff made his return to the wrestling ring  after 7 months out and demanded that NWA: HVW officials put him in a match after beating up two security guards who tried to take the microphone off him, after using highly abusive language towards fans. Maff has not been put in a match, but he will be in the building. What will he do this week? There is only one way to find out and that is 9pm on your local network in the Midwest area.

    Sal & Vito Thomaselli (w/Brandon Thomaselli & Sal.E Graziano) d. Alex Law & Ricky Landell (w/Guillotine LeGrande)

After a nifty little intro package, we go to commentators Brad Trechak and James Mitchell. Mitchell is doing a full heel co-commentator with Trechak doing play by play. Both teams came to the ring to nice reactions but it was The Thomaselli’s of Sal and Vito were able to win in the first ever NWA: HVW match. Big Sal.E stood watch as his troops took apart Law and Landell in a good opener and were able to finish the match when Landell was dumped to the outside and Vito hit the Sicilian Driver on Law to pick up the victory for his team. The Thomaselli’s celebrated there victory as we go to commercial break.

Winners – Sal & Vito Thomaselli

    (8:40) *1/2

We come back from commercial break with James Mitchell announcing he is going backstage to find Abyss before his match with Jigsaw leaving Brad by himself. We cut back to ringside to see Dan Maff standing in the ring with a microphone looking happy.

Dan Maff“As I’m out in a wrestling ring for the first time in 7 months, I would like to say thank you to all you fans for supporting me in this tough time. Unfortunately I can’t do that.”

Maff now has a big frown on his face as the 196 people in attendance have a confused look on there face.

Dan Maff“You pieces of shit, should be *bleeped out* disgraced with yourself. All over the internet you judge me, talking about a situation you no nothing about. Go *bleeped out* yourself, you don’t know nothing about my *bleeped out* situation, nothing.”

As Maff is talking some security guards come to the ring and try and get Maff out of the ring.

Dan Maff“I’ll say whatever the *bleeped out* I want to say, get off me…..”

A right hand sends one security guard down. Maff grabs the other one and NO HE HIT A BURNING HAMMER on the other security guard landing him right on his face. Immediately medics and road agents ran to the ring to check on the security guard as Maff picks up the mic again.

Dan Maff“That’s a warning to any *bleeped out* that wants to *bleeped out* with me. Dan Maff is back in the wrestling business and next week you better give me a *bleeped out* match or I will beat the crap out of someone myself.”

Dan Maff leaves the ring to boos as there are medics swarming around the security guard who Maff dropped on his head with a stiff Burning Hammer. We go to a advertisement for ‘The Iowa Showdown’ to take place on September 24th before returning to the ring to see the small masked wrestler Jigsaw standing in the ring.

    Abyss (w/James Mitchell) d. Jigsaw

Abyss 6'10" - 350 lbs, Jigsaw 6'2" - 182 lbs. This wasn’t so much a match as a massacre as Abyss easily squatted away the challenge of Jigsaw. With Mitchell at ringside, Trechak did the best to apologize for the actions of Dan Maff during the match which saw little offence from Jigsaw apart from a few dropkicks here and there. Abyss was able to win the match when after a big splash he picked Jigsaw up and hit the Black Hole Slam to pick up the win. After the match Abyss hit another big splash on Jigsaw after instruction from Mitchell who was laughing at the destruction his monster gave out to Jigsaw as we go to commercial break.

    Winner – Abyss

    (4:37) *

We return and we are in the Thomaselli’s lockeroom. Vito and Sal are just in towels after getting showers after winning there match against Alex Law and Ricky Landell earlier in the night. Brandon is talking to someone on the phone while Sal.E Graziano is talking to Vito and Sal.

Sal.E Graziano “I told you, if you came to the NWA: High Velocity Wrestling, under my wing, I would guide you to greatness. I want to take you Sal, you Vito and Brandon, and mould you into my loyal soldiers. I can make you made guys in the business. Tonight you come to the ring and win the first ever match in this company’s history I’m proud of you boys.”

Vito Thomaselli“No problem Sal, you say it and we do it.”

Sal Thomaselli“That’s right skip, me, Brandon and Vito are your loyal solders. Just like we beat Law and Landell tonight, Brandon is going to beat that punk Jimmy Jacobs next week and the Thomaselli’s are going to be running things, the way we like it.”

Vito Thomaselli“Mamas going to be so proud of us.”

We cut back to the ring for the final match of the night, the first quarter final of the HVW Heavyweight Championship tournament between Alex Shelley and James Gibson. James Mitchell returns to the commentator’s booth as he and Brad start arguing over what Abyss did to Jigsaw after there match. Mitchell says what happened is a direct result of Abyss not been in the HVW Heavyweight Championship tournament and then starts laughing as Alex Shelleys music hits.

HVW Heavyweight Championship Tournament – Quarter Final 1

    Alex Shelley vs. James Gibson

With Shelley in the ring coming down to the ring to a nice reaction, next out is James Gibson who the crowd go crazy for in the small intimate setting. Gibson is lamping up all the praise and Shelley doesn’t look pleased. Before the match starts Shelley goes to shake Gibsons hand but pulls away as Gibson is about to receive. Shelley has a smile on his face but Gibson wipes it off when he knocks Shelley down as the match starts.

Some nice mat work in the beginning between the duo which brings nice applause from the crowd as the match starts to get serious. We went to the final commercial break of the night with both Shelley and Gibson crashing to the outside when Gibson tried to run Shelley to the outside. We come back with Shelley having the advantage stomping away at Gibson and then choking away at him in a headlock with the crowd really getting behind Gibson. Gibson manages to get to his feet and toss Shelley over in the middle of the ring as the match draws to a conclusion.

With Gibson slowly getting up Shelley aimed for a superkick and vicious struck Gibson in the draw. Shelley then picked Gibson up and hit the Shellshock with Gibsons head striking the mat hard

Winner – Alex Shelley (Shelley advances to the Semi Finals)

    (14:56) **

For the final segment of the show we are with Steve Corino who has Guillotine LeGrande, Alex Law and Ricky Landell behind him as we show a taped interview from earlier in the week hyping his match with Roderick Strong next week.

Steve Corino“NWA: High Velocity Wrestling. Just like every other independent promotion who wants some recognition, who wants to crown a new champion, they all invite ‘The King of Old School’ Steve Corino to be part of there promotion. So it looks like I’m in the HVW Heavyweight Championship tournament and Roderick Strong you are my opponent. This is not the first time we have met Roderick, and it probably isn’t the last, but just like the previous matches between us Roderick, there is only going to be one winner, and you know who that is.”

  17. NWA ANNOUNCES NEW WRESTLING FEDERATION

    July 4, 2005

Today the National Wrestling Alliance has announced a new federation to go under there banner, the NWA: High Velocity Wrestling, backed by an unnamed group of financial backers. The new federation will mix the young stars of tomorrow with the superstars of today. Wrestlers all ready signed to be part of NWA: HVW are TNAW superstars Abyss with Jim Mitchell, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, former WWE superstars Spanky and James Gibson (formally Jamie Knoble) as well as top independent superstars Roderick Strong, Kevin Steen and former ECW Heavyweight Champion ‘The King of Old School’ Steve Corino.

The NWA: High Velocity Wrestling will be based out of Mid-West of America with further expansions planned towards the east coast. A 1-hour TV show has already been scheduled with 52 weeks programming signed up for Friday nights at 9pm to go out on syndication in the Midwest Area of the US on local stations covering the whole area. The program will be known as HVW TV and will debut on September 2nd and will be shot every two weeks on the Monday before the first show, with two shows been shot at a time, at the Bran McNally Arena in Michigan which will now be known as the HVW Arena.

While in the future we plan for PPV events, it is not a possibility at the moment so the TV shows will be supported by ‘super shows’ to take place once a month in various regions in the Midwest Area. The first one will be at the Guthrie Centre in Iowa on Saturday September 24th. These events will be available at www.nwahvw.com on DVD within a week of the show taking place.

The goal of the NWA: HVW is to give wrestling fans a real choice. Our live shows and TV programming will draw fans young and old to the sport. The best talent coming out of the big leagues will mix with the best talent in the independents to create a unique and new innovative wrestling federation. We hope you can all support us and look out for more news.

  18. The Gauntlet

    August 13th 2005

    Skybox Arena, Minnesota

War! The very foundations of Super Wrestling Extravaganza Wrestling are in ruin. In California, we saw a record number of assaults and dissect by the wrestlers in the Beach House Plex. Teddy Hart argued with H-Factor team-mate Bobby Quance then left the building, only for Hart to return and shock the world, by steeling the SWEW Heavyweight Championship from Austin Aries, beating him up later in the night in the car park. That wasn’t all as Chris Ca$h debuted his Ca$h Inc organisation, as along with Trent Acid, we saw the returns of the Briscoe Brothers and Kid Kash to SWEW as they attacked AJ Styles and Homicide and stated they will take over SWEW.

On top of that Rocky Romero lied to his tag team partner Ricky Reyes to get a SWEW Heavyweight Championship, while Majestic continued there path of destruction by winning a six man tag over H-Factor and Samoa Joe left John Roberts in a hospital overnight after beating him senseless in under 10 minutes. That wasn’t all as Matt Sydal finally ended his long feud with Jimmy Rave as they fought through the building, on the beach and on the streets of California before Matt Sydal with help from his girlfriend Daizee Haze finished Rave off with a Shooting Star Press.

As you can see the SWEW lockeroom is clearly in trouble, and now will only get worse as on August 13th, in Minnesota at the Skybox Arena for the first time ever, there will be a 30 man Gauntlet where every member of the SWEW roster plus international stars Kevin Steen and the American Dragon Bryan Danielson will battle for 3 key prizes where anything and everything can happen.

    The Gauntlet

Don Callis has handed us the following information about ‘The Gauntlet’ –

    • Every wrestler in ‘The Gauntlet’ has been granted a number between 1-30 (A list of the numbers can be found below). Wrestlers 1 and 2 will start the match, and the wrestler with the next number up will enter the match when elimination occurs, and this match will start immediately with no breaks.

    • Each match in ‘The Gauntlet’ will have a 20 minute time limit. Whichever wrestler has been in the ring for the shortest amount of time, will be eliminated. If both wrestlers have been in the ring for the same amount of time, both men will be eliminated and the next two superstars will enter the match.

    • Eliminations will occur if a wrestler is pinned, is forced to submit, counted out, disqualified or the time limit expires. If both men are eliminated at the same time, for any reason, then both men will be eliminated and the next two superstars will enter the match.

    • If a wrestler beats 3 men in succession they will be granted a 3 minute break before the next match.

    • If a wrestler has been in the ring for more than 30 minutes without a break, they will be granted a 3 minute break at the end of the current match in progress if they are successful.

    • Three ‘prizes’ have been set for this match by SWEW Owner Don Callis. Each of the ‘prizes’ are the same, with the winner of the prize getting to make any match of there liking, this can include any gimmick, or title match they want, as long as it involves somebody with a SWEW contract.

    • The first prize will go to the wrestler who eliminates the most amount of wrestlers in ‘The Gauntlet’, the second prize will go to the wrestler who stays in  ‘The Gauntlet’ for the longest amount of time and the final prize goes to whoever is the last man standing in ‘The Gauntlet’.

Now we will go through the entrants in groups of 3’s and study there chances of winning one of the three prizes.

    1) Azreal

    2) Alex Shelley

    3) Jack Evans

Alex Shelley stated at the end of California Dreams that he his furious that he drew number 2 and accused Don Callis of fixing the draw. Now Shelley can only hope he can survive the longest or beat the most amount of competitors. However with Azreal and Jack Evans two young stars looking to rise up the ladder in SWEW knowing Alex Shelley will be a huge name to have in your win column. With Azreal and Alex Shelley starting us off on Saturday we are sure they will set the pace for the rest of the evening. We also need to find out what Jack Evans thoughts are on Teddy Harts attack on Austin Aries and his theft of the SWEW Heavyweight Championship. Reporter Cliff Johnson is almost 100% he will have an interview with Jack before the show starts.

    4) Jay Briscoe

    5) Delirious

    6) Ricky Reyes

Jay Briscoe will here make his in ring return to SWEW here and despite reports coming out of Ca$h Inc the Briscoes are going to go after the SWEW Tag Team Championship, he will be looking to make up for his poor first run in SWEW and make a name for himself in the Gauntlet. If Delirious and Ricky Reyes make it to face each other, it will be a preview of the SWEW Tag Team Championship match to take place on August 27th in Iowa as Majestic defend against the Havana Pitbulls and both men will be looking to go into the match confident. Ricky Reyes however is apparently furious that Rocky Romero had decided to go for a SWEW Heavyweight Championship match instead of saving the SWEW Triple Chance for another tag title shot in the future. How will this affect Reyes in Minnesota?

    7) Spanky

    8) Kevin Steen

    9) Jimmy Rave

The only man to make his in ring debut with SWEW this Saturday will be Canadian star Kevin Steen. Steen had made a name for himself at both sides of the order and will be looking to enhance his reputation with a good run in the Gauntlet. Spanky who has been in a slump lately will be hoping a good run here will make him rise up the SWEW rankings again, while Jimmy Rave will be looking to bounce back from his big loss to Matt Sydal in California.

    10) Alex Lovell

    11) Bryan Danielson

    12) AJ Styles

With Alex Lovell surrounded with such top talent we doubt he will last long here. Bryan Danielson making his first appearance in SWEW since the Ultimate Challenge Cup in SWEW has said to SWEW offices, he is after a SWEW Heavyweight Championship shot and has stated he will either last the longest or eliminate the most men in the Gauntlet. However to do this Danielson must get past AJ Styles, who is furious the way he and Homicide were jumped by Ca$h Inc and is fired up for this event as he has stated he will want Chris Ca$h one on one if he can we a prize.

    13) Mark Briscoe

    14) Gregg Bradley

    15) Chris Ca$h

Like Jay, Mark will be looking to make a name for himself in singles action in SWEW before reverting back to the tag scene. Gregg Bradley will be finally looking to get a win under his belt, as chances are running out for him to prove himself in SWEW. Chris Ca$h now leader of one of the most powerful groups in SWEW will be looking to lead by example and have a good run in the Gauntlet as he looks to sow the world he does not need AJ Styles to be successful.

    16) John Roberts

    17) Rocky Romero

    18) Ray Stevens

Despite Internet Reports, John Roberts will be in Minnesota after been released from a Californian hospital a few days ago. Roberts was in hospital for over a week after Samoa Joe destroyed him, after Roberts badmouthed Joe before there match. Not at 100% he will be looking to make up for his embarrassment. Rocky Romero will be looking to build to his SWEW Heavyweight Championship shot on September 10th in North Dakota by impressing in further singles competition, while Stevens will be looking to just pick up a victory and last as long as he can.

    19) Austin Aries

    20) Jimmy Jacobs

    21) Teddy Hart

The SWEW Heavyweight Champions is so pissed we fear for whoever he has to face on Saturday. With two superstars needed to be beat for Aries to get his hands on Teddy Hart the man who attacked Aries and stole his SWEW Heavyweight Championship title, including a former champion Jimmy Jacobs, Aries will be determined to win those two matches to get his hands on Hart. Teddy Hart has stated he will be wearing the SWEW Heavyweight Championship around his waist in Minnesota and we can exclusively reveal now that on August 27th in Iowa, Teddy Hart will take on Austin Aries for the SWEW Heavyweight Championship after Hart cashed in his SWEW Triple Chance. The issue between Hart and Aries can only get hotter in Minnesota.

    22) Bobby Quance

    23) Low-Ki

    24) Tyrill House

We have not heard from Bobby Quance but we are sure he will not be happy with Teddy Hart’s actions and may want to get his hands on Teddy in the Gauntlet. Low-Ki will be looking to bounce back after losing to Austin Aries in the SWEW Heavyweight Championship match, and may also be after Teddy Hart after Hart laid him out with chair during his attack on Aries in California. Like fellow SWEW Academy graduates Tyrill House will just be looking to survive.

    25) Trent Acid

    26) Homicide

    27) Matt Sydal

Like Chris Ca$h with Trent Acid one of the founding member of Ca$h Inc will not be looking to disappoint with a poor showing. Homicide will be looking for revenge and will hope Acid will make his way to facing him as he looks for revenge for what Ca$h Inc did to him ruining his SWEW debut. Matt Sydal coming off his biggest win of his career beating Jimmy Rave at the last show has stated he is coming after the SWEW Heavyweight Championship and has stated he can go through four other men to win the Gauntlet.

    28) Super Dragon

    29) Kid Kash

    30) Samoa Joe

These lucky three men have drawn the last three numbers and are favourites to win the competition. With two member of Majestic in the final four at least, they have the best chance of taking it. Kid Kash making his in ring return to SWEW will be looking to earn his first ever SWEW Heavyweight Championship shot here. However whoever get to the final to face Samoa Joe, knows he will be tired and it could be one step to far for anyone to get past Samoa Joe.

For just $15 on the door of the Skybox Arena, Minnesota or www.SWEW.com you will be able to see the first ever 30 man Gauntlet match. Top stars including Bryan Danielson, AJ Styles, Teddy Hart, SWEW Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries, Alex Shelley plus many more will be looking to have there name as winner of the 2005 Gauntlet Trophy and win any match of there own choice. Remember the three prizes are:

Who will eliminate the most other superstars?

Who will survive the longest amount of time?

Will will be the last man remaining?

    PRESHOW

We are outside the Beach House Plex for the SWEW debut in California and we are about 6 hours away from the start of the show. A rental car pulls up and out come Alex Lovell and Ray Stevens who look in a good mood as they walk and talk going into the building.

Alex Lovell“Man I can’t believe it took us 15 hours to drive here.”

Ray Stevens“I told you we should have totally got on a plane and got here.”

Alex Lovell“We don’t have any money, we can’t afford it.”

Ray Stevens “That’s gonna change soon through isn’t it?”

Alex Lovell“Yeah it is, after you beat Assreal tonight and I win the SWEW Triple Chance match we will have so much money, we won’t know what to do with it. Then we can travel back to Minnesota and win the Gauntlet match, and then we are set for live.”

    Ray Stevens“Hahahahaha.”

    Alex Lovell “What?”

    Ray Stevens “Assreal.”

Stevens and Lovell walk into the building looking to finally beat there arch-rival Azreal tonight and also earn themselves a SWEW Tag Team Championship shot.

We are backstage just minutes before the start of California Dreams and we are with AJ Styles and the debuting Homicide as they talk about there upcoming match with Chris Ca$h and Trent Acid.

AJ Styles “Chris Ca$h, for months I took you under my wing as my protégé only to have it all thrown back in my face when you and that jackass Trent Acid, jumped me after I beat you fair and clean at ‘The Anniversary Show’. All those months we rode together as tag team champions and you throw that away just because you want to be in the spot light, you want to be the man. Well Chris let me tell you this, I carried Styles Ca$h I won all the matches, and you just clung on to me taking all the credit. You’re nothing without me Chris, I proved it at ‘The Anniversary Show’ when I beat you, and I will prove it again tonight Chris. You say you have powerful, big player friends, but I doubt you will get anyone the calibre of Homicide as a tag partner.”

Homicide“Yowassup it’sthenatorias 187 Homicide inSWEW helpingoutmy man AJStyles. You know AJandHomicide the DreamTeam2005 are gonna be kicking it up andChrisCa$hand TrentAcid don’t have a chance.”

AJ Styles “That’s right the Dream Team of the year 2005 are here and Chris we’re going to beat you and Trent in the tag match. Then you can bring your Ca$h Inc to SWEW, and we will knock them down to, as we are just too good for you.”

    SHOW

Majestic (Alex Shelley, Delirious & Super Dragon) (w/ Samoa Joe & SWEW Academy) d. H-Factor (Bobby Quance, Jack Evans & Teddy Hart)

A huge ovation was given to H-Factor as they came down the aisle in the debut SWEW show on the West Coast; Teddy looked in a particularly good mood after earning a title shot at ‘The Anniversary Show’ when he beat his fellow partners in a SWEW Triple Chance match. Next Majestic came out, with Samoa Joe leading out the SWEW Academy students, then Delirious and Super Dragon holding the SWEW Tag Team Championship belts then finally the leader of Majestic Alex Shelley comes out to huge heat as he looks pissed after failing to win the SWEW Heavyweight Championship on the last show and drawing a low number in the Gauntlet draw.

The match started out with a big brawl but Majestic soon took control and as is there trademark in these multi-person tag matches cut off the ring and this time it was Jack Evans who was taken into Majestics corner for a good minutes. Bobby Quance and Teddy Hart could only look on as Jack Evans was stretched and battered in the ring. However there is great fight in Jack Evans and when he dodged Delirious’s attempt to hit the Crazy Drop he managed to crawl into his corner and tag in Bobby Quance.

The match now went to pieces with all six men in the ring. Teddy Hart dumped Super Dragon to the outside and then hit a twisting plancha to the outside onto Dragon also taking out several students. Bobby Quance and Delirious also hit big dives to the floor taking out more students while keeping everyone else down including Samoa Joe. This left Alex Shelley in the ring with a battered Jack Evans.

Shelley quickly took control of Evans and went for a Shellshock, but Evans pushed Shelley off him and went for a dropsault but Shelley grabbed Evans legs and drove him down to the mat with a big powerbomb driving the wind out of him. Shelley covered for a two count, then spun Evans around and locked in the Border City Stretch on Evans. With Quance and Hart still down on the big pile on the floor, Evans had no choice but to tap.

Shelley released the hold and stood up in the ring and signalled he was looking for title gold. The SWEW Academy students and Samoa Joe helped pick Delirious and Super Dragon up on the outside and then Shelley ordered them to take them to the back as Majestic went to the back after a good win. Bobby Quance slowly got into the ring and tried to get Jack Evans up. Hart got up on the outside, and just went to the back without helping Evans up, much to Bobby Quances disgust as he and Evans got a clap to the back as Quance held Evans over his shoulder on the way.

    Result – Majestic wins

    (12:48) ***1/4

Azreal d. Ray Stevens (w/Alex Lovell)

Straight back into the action we go as in the first meeting singles match meeting between Azreal and Wasted Talent went the way of the tag matches with Azreal picking up the win after hitting the Somersault Stunner off the top rope. Alex Lovell on the outside tried all match to try and swing the match in the way of his partner, by grabbing Azreals leg and distracting the ref.

However Azreal was just too skilled for the high flying moves of Stevens, dodging a Shooting Star Press and a Springboard DDT while hitting a big brainbuster and tombstone on Stevens taking a lot out of him before finishing off with the Somersault Stunner. Lovell will now get a shot at Azreal on August 27th in Iowa as Wasted Talent look to finally get some revenge over Azreal in this bizarre feud.

    Result – Azreal wins

    (8:23) **3/4

We flash quickly backstage where we join in a middle of a huge argument between Teddy Hart and Bobby Quance

Bobby Quance“You’re such a jackass; you don’t care about anyone but yourself.”

Teddy Hart“Whatever, I earn everything I do; you think you’re better than me? Well how come I won the SWEW Triple Chance match and earned the title shot Bobby.”

Bobby Quance“Go fuck yourself, you wouldn’t even help Jack to the back, Shelley busted his arm pretty bad, and he’s in the doctors room right now, you haven’t even seen him yet and he’s your best friend.”

Teddy Hart “Look, Jacks my boy, but he lost the match again for us, making H-Factor look bad, and making Teddy Hart look bad, I don’t want to see him now.”

Bobby Quance“Well that shows what kind of a man you really are Teddy. Why don’t you just get the fuck out of here as no one gives a fuck about you.”

Teddy Hart“You want me to go, well fine here I go.”

Teddy Hart picks up his big off the floor, still in his wrestling gear and slams open the door and storms off out of the ring, while Quance looks mighty pissed at Hart.

    SWEW Triple Chance Match

Rocky Romero d. Tyrill House & Jimmy Jacobs

Rocky Romero earned the Havana Pitbulls a SWEW Tag Team Championship shot as he won the SWEW Triple Chance match. It was only really between Jacobs and Romero of the three of who would win the match. Jacobs looked dazed and confused most of the match, still talking in his gibberish ways but he came close to picking up the win when he hit the Contra Code on Tyrill only for Romero to brake up the hold. Romero managed to pick up the win when he hit a stiff superkick to Jacobs to knock him to the outside and then managed to lock on an arm-bar on Tyrill who was forced to tap saving his arm for braking. It was a good showing for Tyrill, but his inexperienced showed against two tough opponents while Rocky Romero showed he is not only a good tag team wrestler but a threat in singles competition.

    Result – Rocky Romero wins

No stopping as this fast paced show keeps going as Samoa Joe comes down to the ring with the SWEW Academy as he looks to do a favour for his leader Alex Shelley and take care of John Roberts. As Joe waits in the ring Roberts comes down to the ring with a mic in his hand and starts to talk.

John Roberts“Alex Shelley I know you are dodging me, which is why you sent your fat Samoan bitch to try and get me.”

Joe looked immediately furious with what Roberts was saying.

John Roberts“That’s right. I called you a bitch; you just go around doing whatever Shelley wants you to do. What you can’t think for your self, you overweight, overrated hack.”

Joe had heard enough and ran out of the ring to get Roberts as the 4th match of the night kicks off.

Samoa Joe (w/SWEW Academy) d. John Roberts

With Joe enraged at what Roberts had just said, Roberts punched and moved trying to keep away from Joe in an attempt to tire the big man out. However Roberts perhaps went too far as once Joe managed to get Roberts, he ripped him apart all over the Beach House Plex. The crowd were wincing as Joe rammed Roberts into the guard railings, with great force, then hit the Ole, Ole kick on Roberts.

Roberts was bleeding from the mouth as Joe dragged him into the ring, hit a few more stiff kicks as well as an Island Driver before choking out Roberts. Joe refused to let go of the choke and some of the SWEW Academy students had to pull Joe off Roberts. Joe went to the back still looking hella mad with Roberts blood all over his hand. Roberts had to be carried to the back by some agents and backstage workers as he might now regret calling out Samoa Joe.

    Result – Samoa Joe wins

    (7:36) **1/2

AJ Styles & Homicide d. Chris Ca$h & Trent Acid

AJ and Homicide get a huge pop as they come to the ring while Ca$h and Acid finally together as a heel tag team got some good heat coming down to the ring. The result of this match wasn’t really in question. AJ and Homicide are two huge starts while Ca$h and Acid are well Ca$h and Acid. AJ and Homicide hit all there signature moves however. AJ hit the Spiral Tap and backsault DDT while Homicide hit the Suicide Tope before finishing off Trent Acid with the Cop Killa. However the real story of the match was what happened after the match.

Result – AJ Styles & Homicide wins

    (10:51) ***1/4

As AJ Styles and Homicide celebrate there win in Homicides debut match, suddenly there is a huge disturbance in the crowd as from the back of the arena racing into the ring come former SWEW alumini Kid Kash and the Briscoe Brothers to attack Homicide and AJ. The crowd are going wild as AJ and Homicide try and fight them off, but Trent Acid and Chris Ca$h get up and join in, the assault on AJ and Homicide.

The crowd are now booing as the five on two assault easily overpowers AJ and Homicide. Chris Ca$h appears to be directing traffic as the Briscoes hits the Doomsday Device on Homicide. The five men the pick up AJ Styles as Ca$h gets in front of AJ and mocks his pose before hitting the Styles Clash on AJ. Ca$h signals for the Briscoes to go outside. The Briscoes grab steel chairs but as they do the lockeroom empties and chase of Chris Ca$h and his cronies. AJ and Homicide gingerly get up with help from the rest of the guys in the back. Was that the Ca$h Inc, Chris Ca$h was talking about? But Kid Kash and the Briscoes lost there SWEW contracts.

    SWEW Triple Chance Match

Ricky Reyes d. Alex Lovell (w/Ray Stevens) & Spanky

After a brief intermission to calm the crowd down, we returned to see Ricky Reyes earn the Havana Pitbulls there 2nd SWEW Tag Team Championship shot of the night when like Romero early he won his match with an armbar on make Alex Lovell tap out. Spanky came close to winning the match on several occasion as he hit Reyes and Lovell with big moves including a frogsplash on Reyes who kicked out at two. After the match Stevens dragged Lovell out of the ring as they went to the back depressed after going (0-2) tonight.

    Result – Ricky Reyes wins

    SWEW Heavyweight Championship

    Austin Aries© (w/Becky Bayless) d. Low-Ki

This was everything a title match should be. A big match feeling, great atmosphere in the crowd and two fighters doing everything they could to be champion. Low-Ki one year on from his first title shot, started like a house on fire, flashing kicks from the left and right of Aries, had the champion crumble to his knees and Ki came close on several occasions to taking the match early on.

After Ki missed a Phoenix Splash attempt and smashed his knee on the mat, Aries took control of the match. Working on Ki’s right leg to try and stop the kicks and general mobility of Ki. Aries working clearly the heel here as he stamped away at Ki’s leg and locked in various submission holds on it including a figure four leg lock which looked like it had Ki ready to tap. Ki managed to get to the ropes but the damage had already been done.

Ki managed to come back into the match more, but his kicks were now not as affective allowing Aries to block them more. Aries took Ki to the outside and really started to tear at the leg trapping it between a steel chair and the floor then stamping on the chair making Low-Ki wildly scream which was heard all through the Beach House Plex.

Aries got several close calls on Ki, but Ki just would not give up. Aries signalled it was over and went for the brainbuster but Ki reversed it and hit a sick release german suplex on Aries who landed on the back of his head. Both men were slowly up and started to kick at each other. Ki managed to hit a stiff shot to Aries head and then exploded in a flurry of kicks and chops and Aries reeled into the ropes. Ki signalled for the Ki Krusher lifted Aries up but collapsed on the floor as his right leg gave in.

Aries got up and sensed Low-Ki was weak. Aries picked Ki up and hammered 10 forearm shots into Kis back. He lifted Ki up and drove him down to the mat with a brainbuster not once, not twice but thrice. Aries then climbed to the top rope and hit the 450 splash on Ki and covered for the three. Becky slid into the ring to congratulate her man and give Austin his title. Aries stands up and offers Low-Ki his hand. Low-Ki extends his hand and the two men shake to a nice reaction from the crowd. Low-Ki raises Aries hand and it’s a nice moment until Teddy Hart comes running through the crowd and smashes a steel chair into the back of Low-Kis head.

    Result – Austin Aries wins

    (25:07) ****1/4

Low-Ki goes down from the stiff chair shot to the back of his head. Aries goes to superkick Hart but Hart ducks and smashes the chair over Aries head. Hart scares Becky out of the ring and rolls Low-Ki out of it. It obvious he wants Aries, and the crowd are booing Hart loudly after ruining that nice moment between Aries and Low-Ki. Hart drags Aries into the corner and he hits a twisting 450 splash on Aries. Hart then picks up the SWEW Heavyweight Championship and poses with the belt to huge boos before running back through the crowd while holding the SWEW Heavyweight Championship. Aries slowly gets up taken aback from what has just happened as Becky helps him to his feet. He knows Teddy Hart is long gone now, and gone with his SWEW Heavyweight Championship belt.

Backstage before our main event of Jimmy Rave and Matt Sydal in a No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere match Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero are talking about there success in the SWEW Triple Chance matches.

Rocky Romero“I told you we would do it Ricky, now we have two title shots.”

Ricky Reyes“Yeah man, after ‘The Gauntlet’ I swear down on August 27th in Iowa we are going to get our tag team titles back and we ain’t gonna to have two shots to beat Majestic to get our titles back. I say after the show lets go and see Callis and get the title shot down on paper. The Havana Pitbulls vs. Majestic for the SWEW Tag Team Championship.”

Rocky Romero“Sounds good to me, and you’re right Ricky, we don’t need two title shots to get our belts back.”

Ricky Reyes walk off, as Rocky Romero has a big smile on his face, like he has had an idea pop in his head.

We go to ringside where a variety of weapons such as tables, chairs, ladders and canes have been put around the ringside area. First outcomes Matt Sydal with Daizee Haze to a nice reception in the biggest match of his career as he main events such a huge show on his own with close to 1500 people in attendance. Next out comes Jimmy Rave who has a cocky smile on his face, as his music plays through the Beach House Plex. Before stepping in the ring Jimmy picks up a mic.

Jimmy Rave “So it has come to this Matt, you wouldn’t step aside to allow Daizee be with the man she want to be with and now we have over a thousand screaming Californians begging us for to tear each other limb for limb. Now I’m quite happy to let this happen Matt as your nothing compared to Jimmy Rave but I’m giving you one more chance to back down, walk to the back and let me and Daizee live in peace.”

Jimmy now gets in the ring as Daizee looks kind of scared as she stands behind Sydal who takes the mic off Jimmy.

    Matt Sydal“FUCK YOU.”

Sydal smashes the mic over Jimmy Raves head as IT IS ON.

    Fall Count Anywhere

    No DQ

Jimmy Rave vs. Matt Sydal (w/Daizee Haze)

Sydal smashes the mic over Raves head several times to start us off as Jimmy flees to the outside of the ring while Daizee gets out of the ring as fast as she can. Matt Sydal comes to the outside to follow Jimmy and delivers three stiff shots to Sydals head before whipping him into the guard railing. Sydal charges at Rave but Rave manages to back body drop Rave and crashes into the crowd. Rave follows Sydal and picks up a steel chair and waffles it over Sydals head to even things up.

Jimmy Rave rocked Matt Sydal with a big chop which sends Sydal to the floor. A couple more and Sydal is rocking in the middle of the crowd as Rave orders the fans to move out of the way as Rave launches Sydal into a big pile of chairs. Rave picks up a big metal pole and measures up Sydal. Rave swings but misses and hurts himself in the process smashing the bar into the steel chairs making a sickening fud around the arena. Sydal hits. Sydal hits several stiff kicks to Raves body and then suplexes him on the hard concrete floor. Sydal picks Rave up as they walk through the crowd even more so and work there way near the exit door of the building. Sydal teases throwing Jimmy through the door window, but Jimmy blocks and whips Sydal into the door causing it to break off its hinges.

We are now outside the building as the crowd gather round Rave and Sydal. Rave covers Sydal but only gets a two. We now make our way towards the beach as the two start brawling on a beach. Jimmy Rave hits a series of suplexes on Sydal and goes for a cover but Sydal kicks out. Rave picks up a deck chair from the beach and throws it at Sydal knocking him over as Rave looks to have the advantage. Sydal attempts a weak forearm which nailed Jimmy Rave in the head, but Rave shakes it off and signals for the hot girls who are sitting on two deck chairs to move. Rave tries to suplex Sydal on the chairs but Sydal blocks, and spins Rave around and hits a front faced suplex on Rave who crashes through to deck chairs and hits the sand.

The crowd chant Holy Shit as Sydal covers for a two. Sydal picks Rave up and drags him by his hair as we go back into the arena. Sydal continually smashes Rave with forearms as we make our way back to ringside. Sydal whips Rave into the guard railings as he crashes over and goes back to the ringside area. Daizee starts clapping her man as Rave now busted open rolls into the ring. Sydal slides a table and several chairs into the ring. Rave is now pleading for Sydal to stay away as Sydal jams a chair into the corner of the ring and then whips Rave into it. Raves back crashes hard into the steel chair and he steps out of the corner and is met by a huge roaring lariat from Sydal knocking him inside out.

Both men slowly crawl towards the steel chair and both get there hands on it. They both weakly try to pick up the chair, when suddenly into the ring comes Daizee Haze who takes the steel chair into her hands.

Sydal and Rave both stand up gingerly in the ring as Haze has the chair in her hands. Both men yell at her to give them the chair, but Daizee Haze swings back the steel chair and to the delight of all the fans in attendance smashes the chair over Jimmy Raves head, which sends Rave down to the floor in a big heap. POSTSHOW

It is now postshow as we see Rocky Romero and Ricky Reyes go into SWEW Owners room Don Callis.

Ricky Reyes“Don can we have a word with you?”

Don Callis“My office is always open what do you want?”

Ricky Reyes“You saw us win the SWEW Triple Chance matches. We want you to confirm our Tag Title shot against Majestic on August 27th in Iowa.”

Don Callis“The Havana Pitbulls vs. Majestic of Delirious & Super Dragon on August 27th in Iowa for the SWEW Tag Team Championship? Sure thing, you know what you want to do with your other title shot yet?”

Ricky Reyes“Where going to keep it in the bank, encase we manage to lose the title match against Majestic, so we have another shot just encase, but that isn’t going to happen is it Rocky?”

Rocky Romero“Nah all we need is one shot.”

Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero leave the room looking pleased with there nights work, when Romero turns to Reyes

Rocky Romero“One sec I left my bag in there wait a second.”

Rocky Romero goes back into Don Callis office

Rocky Romero “Don, book me in a match for the SWEW Heavyweight Championship against Austin Aries in North Dakota on September 10th.”

Don Callis “What about keeping the title shot in the bank, does Ricky know about this.”

Rocky Romero“Hey he said all we needed is one shot to win the tag team championship, I’m going to become the first double champion is SWEW history when I take both title belts.”

Don Callis“What about Ricky through, he is not going to be happy with this is he.”

Rocky Romero“Don’t worry about that, all I want to know is can you get it done.”

Don Callis “Hey it’s your SWEW Triple Chance you can do whatever you want with it.”

Rocky Romero “Well do it then, and I will tell Ricky about this, when he is ready.”

    Don Callis “Ok then.”

Rocky Romero leaves the room, picking up his bag as Reyes turns to Romero.

Ricky Reyes“What took you so long?”

Rocky Romero“Was just getting the travel information for ‘The Gauntlet’ sorted out.”

    Ricky Reyes“Cool.”

The Havana Pitbulls walk off together as Romero has a big smirk over his face.

We are backstage with Majestic. As always Delirious and Super Dragon are standing in the background with the SWEW Tag Team Championship belts over there shoulders. Samoa Joe is sitting intensely still with John Roberts blood all over his hands after nearly murdering him in the ring tonight. Alex Shelley is looking into the camera looking intense as he begins talking.

Alex Shelley“Lets sum up tonight’s events. Once again Majestic proved they are the greatest faction in the history of professional wrestling, dismantling H-Factor in the middle of the ring and making poor little Jack Evans tap out clean in the middle of the ring. Speaking of tapping out, let’s put our thoughts out to John Roberts. Did you actually think it would be a good idea to call him out and piss him off? Well you surely can’t think it was a good idea now, as you rest in the hospital tonight, and Samoa Joe still has your blood on his hands.

Enough about tonight, let’s look to the future. August 13th Minnesota, the first ever 30 man Gauntlet match. Once again another way the SWEW offices can screw Alex Shelley by giving him the number 2 drawing making me winning the ‘The Gauntlet’ an nearly impossible task. Don’t worry through, I’m sure I will eliminate the most competitors and stay in the longest to win those prizes and be able to get Austin Aries back in the ring so I can win my SWEW Heavyweight Championship and with Samoa Joe drawing number 30, there is no way anyone can stopping him winning this thing, and giving Majestic a clean sweep at ‘The Gauntlet’ as our goal of total domination becomes closer and closer, with the SWEW Heavyweight Championship coming ever closer to the hands of Majestic.”

Matt Sydal and Daizee Haze look in a great mood as they cut a post match promo after finally ridding themselves of Jimmy Rave, after a great bloody main event here in California.

Matt Sydal“Jimmy Rave, you should have stayed away, I told you Daizee was with me all along and when she swung that steel chair into your bloody head tonight, I hope you got the message to stay away forever. Now I’m aiming straight for the top, Austin Aries I’m after your SWEW Heavyweight Championship and entering ‘The Gauntlet at number 27 I have a great chance of winning this thing, and mark my words, I will win the Gauntlet and then I will beat you Austin to become the SWEW Heavyweight Champion.”

We are in a private limo outside the Beach House Plex and inside sit Chris Ca$h, Trent Acid, Kid Kash, Mark Briscoe and Jay Briscoe. They look like they are having a good time drinking champagne as Chris Ca$h starts talking.

Chris Ca$h“Hi AJ, how you doing? I heard your little speech backstage, saying I couldn’t get powerful friends the calibre of Homicide. Well how do you like me now? Kid Kash and the Briscoe Brothers, three of the top independent wrestlers in the US joining Ca$h Inc, in our fight for domination of SWEW, seems to be a clear intent on our goals.”

Kid Kash“Yo wassup it’s the notorious KID back in SWEW. You say me and the Briscoes are banned from SWEW? Well the Ca$h Inc lawyers have managed to get our SWEW contracts reinstated and we are once again active competitors in SWEW starting with the Gauntlet on August 13th as guess who the three mystery competitors in the Gauntlet are.”

Chris Ca$h“That’s right AJ, looks like your pretty fucked now. It was 5 on 2 tonight, and it’s going to be 5 on 2 every night from now on as with this kind of man power can stop us. We’re going to win the Gauntlet, win the Ultimate Challenge Cup, win the world title, win the tag title, win everything, no one can stop us. Hey driver lets go.”

The five men start laughing as Ca$h Inc have signalled there intent for domination of SWEW as the limo drives off. As the limo drives through the car park and out to the freeway we see Teddy Hart resting on a car talking on the phone with the SWEW Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder.

Teddy Hart “Yeah it was totally awesome, no one saw that coming.”

Teddy Hart “Yeah I’ve got the belt with me now, everything is cool.”

Austin Aries“HEY HART YOU SON OF A BITCH, GIVE ME MY FUCKING BELT BACK.”

Out of nowhere we see Austin Aries come running down the street and Teddy drops his phone and the belt on the floor as the duo meet and start brawling. Aries hits Hart with some stiff right hands but doesn’t look 100% with a bandaged up ribs as Hart manages to lay into Aries with some stiff shots to Aries ribs knocking him down, before picking up the SWEW Heavyweight Championship and hammering it over Aries head. Hart smiles and gets in the car picking up his phone and putting the belt in his car and starts it up and then starts mouthing off to Aries who is down on the floor.

Teddy Hart“Hey Austin, I’ll take good care of the title don’t worry.”

The show comes to an end with Teddy Hart speeding out of the Beach House Plex car park with Austin Aries laid out on the floor.

As the show comes to an end we see a graphic advertising ‘The Gauntlet’ to take place on August 13th in the Sky Box Arena in Minnesota which will hold the first ever 30 man gauntlet match:
