Still barely enough to cover the promotions in game.
Anyone know of any female sports referees or any site with a list of them I could use to pad out the list?
Online World of Wrestling has a page listing referees, but I'm not sure how many female refs you're going to get out of that.
After looking at womens promotions that shut down the following are some promotions that are in line to be added for an update- Women's Extreme Wrestling
I thought "Women's Extreme Wrestling" simply morphed into "Women's Erotic Wrestling", which still appears to be active.

Can someone provide the members of Raven's Flock for the start of 98, so far I have Raven, Riggs and Kidman, also what would be a good gimmick for the group, their currently set to Cult Leader (Raven) and Cult Followers (Riggs & Kidman).
Getting this info from Wikipedia & Online World of Wrestling -
Van Hammer joined in November 1997 and was kicked-out in May 1998
Lodi
Sick Boy aka Scott Vick
Reese aka Ron Reis - not clear exactly when he joined.
Perry Saturn

- What PPV provider was ECW on
- What gimmick would suit the NOD for the start of January 98 cause if im right during 97 they turned into a black supremacy type of group so would Black Nationilist suit the members better
- Can anyone give me a good idea who was in the nWo at this time
ECW was with Viewer's Choice (now InDemand).
-
I don't mind seeing scenarios where people throw-in companies that have gone belly-up in the past, like WCW or even the AWA & WCCW, but so much of the backstory here makes little sense. The two things that bother me most are:
If Ted Turner was going to buy a wrestling company, why wouldn't it be the one he bought before, WCW? And why would Billionaire Ted ever put any company he owns in Canada?
If Paul Heyman hit the lottery, why on Earth would he team-up with Bischoff (a person Heyman doesn't seem to care much for) to buy the one wrestling promotion he hated with a passion? Is there any good reason to think Heyman wouldn't use his lottery winnings to keep ECW going?

It should go 25 seasons before Fox cancels it. I can't see another network or cable company picking it up if (according to the article) the show is no longer profitable. A smaller network isn't going to make more money than Fox does off of commercials, and I doubt the actors are going to take even bigger cuts than what they're willing to give Fox just so the show can air on a smaller network for less money.
What I'd like to see is for Matt Groening & Friends taking a page from Futurama's playbook, and make some direct-to-DVD Simpsons movies, or maybe another feature film or two.

Scenario Name Suggestion: EWR Time Warp
I'ld like to suggest leaving the entire ECW roster on open contracts since several workers (Cactus Jack, RVD, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, Mike Awesome, to name a few off the top of my head) worked for them and WCW/WWF at the same time.
-
Stupid Question: Why not have some wrestlers on Open Contracts so they can work for multiple companies? For instance, having Hulk Hogan on an OC so that he could be on both the WWF & WCW rosters, or Terry Funk working for WCW, NWA & ECW (or wherever his best runs happened). Certainly, plenty of wrestlers had memorable runs in more than one promotion during their prime years, so using OCs would open-up options for people playing the game without them having to do some moderations to the worker files depending on what promotion they feel like playing as.
-
Basicly every wrestler that has ever lived in their prime and the promotions in their golden years is what I'm doing with this one, and I'm not making double wrestlers but I have more then one of the same promotions(WWWF, WWF 80s, WWF 90s, WWE 00, WWE PG, ect.) I started working on this with the August update and I'm keeping many of the current wrestlers as they are like a CM Punk in WWE PG and many of ROH wrestlers as they are.
Thoughts and ideas?
I think this is a great idea, and I was even half-tempted to do something similar but simply don't have the time for it at the moment.
-
I was interested in playing a game based in the mid-80s and downloaded both the 1985 & '86 scenarios. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I mean, $60-95,000 for guys with Overness in the 30s & 40s? So I decided, if I want something playable, I'm going to have to either do a lot of modifications or create one from scratch myself.
The idea I have is to make a generic "1980s" scenario, where the exact year isn't set in stone and anyone can come along and start it out in any year they wanted to and still be rather satisfied with how it's all set-up. Would anyone be interested in something like this? Any suggestions for workers/staff/promotions?
-
Just downloaded this scenario and it looks like it should be fun to play around with. If you don't mind, I was looking at the TV Networks and had a few suggestions/comments:
I feel that TBS should be changed to WTCG. WTBS (eventually just TBS) didn't become the name of the station until 1979.
Fox was launched in 1986 & TNT didn't begin broadcasting until 1988, so I don't feel they really belong in a 1975 scenario, but that's just my opinion.
Stations to use as possible replacements/additions:
Prism - Philadelphia, PA area cable channel that started in 1976. Early-on they showed wrestling on a regular basis.
SportsChannel New York - started in 1976 as a regional channel
MSG - New York area cable channel that started-up in 1969
SelecTV - subscription service that started in 1976
Showtime - started broadcasting in 1976
USA Network - established in 1977
Great! I'll definitely add them in, thanks! Do you have any suggestions for ratings/risk?
Off-hand, I'ld make the Ratings for Prism, MSG, SportsChannel and maybe SelecTV a 2.00 for Prime Time (other time slots adjusted accordingly) and their Risk about 61-71%. Not sure about most of them but I know that Prism wasn't against showing the occasional cage match that got a little bloody.
USA & Showtime could probably get away with being the same or maybe slightly lower in Ratings as they are now in current EWR Data since they were national cable channels when they launched.

So I just read 99 issues of Exiles over the course of 2 days... God damn, if there was ever a property I've wanted turned into a TV show this would be it.
I enjoyed the "World Tour" arc a lot, but dropped the book as soon as Chris Claremont took over writing.
-
After all those, I am sitting at 179 wrestlers. I still need 3 promotions to get the 10 that I want in this scenario. I still need a lot of staff. I'll take care of the staff for the global promotion, WWWE.
261 sponsors, mostly all of them are from the monthly updates that Bill makes. I added a few to that already long list of sponsors.
87 relationships, 32 people in the scenario have alter egos, 6 TV shows, 31 TV networks.
4 stables(Tolsvar, I still need your other guys for your Middle Eastern Kings stable.) 25 tag teams.
45 monthly events scattered around for the 7 promotions. 17 championships, I still don't have the backyard promotion's championships or the EWA championships.
14 staff members, I need alot more, it doesn't matter what position they are, I will add them in. But like I said, leave the global promotion's staff up to me.. I'll get it myself. But take care guys, post alot more stuff and I'll check it when I get on in the morning.
Peace
I think The Middle Eastern Kings idea was Eidgan's, not mine.
I did forget to state the BWC's title, only because I never have a belt when I start a Backyard game. I usually run a tournament for a few months before deciding anything regarding a belt. And honestly, I'm pretty bad when coming-up with clever names for championships, usually just going with the fed name with "Championship" tacked-on at the end ... so "BWC Backyard Championship" is about the best I'll come-up with. Feel free to come-up with something better.

Here are some more workers for POW! Feel free to fiddle around with any of the info I provide for these workers if you think they're unbalanced. Some of these people are coming from version 1.4 of the game, so I've had to fill-in some gaps myself. A few others were pulled off Excel files I used long ago when playing EWR, so things like Finishers and Gimmicks were missing.
Sorry I can't get more specific with the "Pic Base" but I'm fairly certain that most of the pictures I use in EWR (and have for reference) don't match-up with anyone else's game.

Oh ok, well thanks for the input still Tolsvar. I added a few more women into POW! if you don't mind.
I don't mind at all. You can add whoever you want to POW!. It is your game, after all. If you want to add a few more of my workers, I should have about dozen more for you tomorrow (just trying to figure-out all of their stats, etc).
And if nobody beats me to it, I might have a Backyard promotion for you tomorrow, as well, if you're interested.
-
The promotion has been added in the scenario Tolsvar, thanks for the help! What are the championships for the promotion, and do you have any wrestlers for the promotion?
I knew I'ld forget something!
Regarding workers, you could just use Grace Weldon, Sandy & Beth Wolf, Hazel Nut, Suzy Nordik, Vivian Franklyn, Beckie Svenning and Lisa Gee for the POW! roster. Had I put more thought into what I was doing from the start, I would have given you the workers & promotion at the same time.
Nothing too imaginative for the belts. POW! World Championship & POW! Tag Team Championship. At Regional level, I personally don't like having more than that to start with since a Regional Fed only needs about 20 or so workers. I'ld give Beth & Sandy the Tag Belts and Beckie the World Title to start with.
I'll try to come-up with the balance of the starting roster for POW!, but I need to dig through some old discs to see what info I still have floating around. I played my POW! games on a pc that hasn't been in one piece for about 6 years now, so it might take a while to find any discs that could possibly have any relevant files. I could jsut make-up more workers, by EWR did a nice job of randomly creating some half-decent female wrestlers, so I'ld rather use those instead because it would feel less like cheating on my part.

Concept of POW!: POW! is an all-female promotion with the goal of becoming a Global-level company, while at the same time bringing a new level of respect to Women's wrestling. The roster & storylines revolve around wrestling & titles, not just simply "T&A". While the "eye candy" aspect of female wreslters may be used to get people to tune-in, the level of in-ring & mic work is what will hopefully turn channel-chasers into die-hard fans. When someone watches POW!, they can expect to see the best show that these women can perform, not skinny super-models in lingerie involved in pillow fights.

@Biggam
Did you even care to look at the last date of the scenario anyway? It seems to me that the last date concerning the scenario was August 27th, 2008.. and you're still requesting stuff to be in it.. How about this, look at the dates before you post.. I was just asking if anybody had the download because I would like to try it...
was there any need for that?
as this wasnt directed at you.
fusionFX does raise a good point, in that AboveAverage (who was developing the scenario) hasn't posted in this thread in nearly two years, so it's doubtful (at least in my mind) that any requests you make for new promotions/workers for this scenario would be addressed.

Here's two players to replace Luc Robitaille, who is hardly "obscure".
Lindy Ruff, probably better known today as a coach.
Luke RIchardson
