OK. So I know I'm way behind on this, but I'm almost to the end of season 1 of The Flash, and I just have to know:

Am I supposed to be sympathetic to Iris in this show? Because all I keep thinking is: "This character is a real cunt."

So...epic mafia is terrible. Just a bunch of people "loling" at each other, and spamming the room with bullshit.

I'm up for a game with stricter time-limits as well. It will be easier for people to not lose focus if they know they're signing up to play for one or two weeks instead of an undetermined amount of time.

Sorry. To be clear. I wasn't taking offense. I was just clarifying for anyone who wasn't sure...since the stated name of my mafia is "Random Historical Figures..." It does sound kind of vanilla.

What do we think? Should we wait for at least one of the two games currently trying to get sign ups to get started at least before we post another sign up list?

Don't got me wrong. I'm excited as hell to get my game started. I signed up to run it like...5 months ago? Something like that? But there's no point in saturating the market with new games when no one is signing up for the ones which are already posted.

It's not that my mafia doesn't have a theme, it's just not a particularly sexy theme.

I suppose I could have chosen "Kate Upton's bra mafia", but weird as it may be, my historical figures mafia was more interesting to me.

It has some twists if that makes a difference for anyone. But I didn't want to mention those out of fear of it changing the way people played the game by giving them too much information.

Pizza may be on the right track. My game is up next but there are already two sign ups listed which aren't filled.

As a first time game runner I don't think I have the necessary stroke to get people excited about my game.

No. But calling it a backhanded compliment was funnier to me.

I've always said convincing others you're right is far more important than actually being right. CBL is undoubtedly better at reading players than me. That's just fact. But he's bad at presenting his arguments in an easily digestible manner that will get the half of the game that doesn't really want to play on board. So his solid reads fall on deaf ears, while I can push my 50% success rate at best lynches with ease.

Sheep: true that a "theme" isn't necessary. And I certainly don't expect that anything I will do would be "elaborate", but I would like to have a world in-which to work, just because I think it makes the process more interesting for me personally.

I've been considering trying my hand at running a game sometime as well. Not sure about the theme but I was also thinking something small would be best. If I come up with something and it becomes more than a nebulous idea in my head then I'll put it on the list.
