    WWE SmackDown! (07.14.05)

    Announcers: Michael Cole and Tazz

    Attedance: 8,036

SmackDown! came on air with the fancy routine pyrowork, followed by a view of the crowd. Among the signholders is a young man with an obscene sign concering JBL, so an usher comes by and takes it away. The show looks to be packed and ready, with The Undertaker and Batista taking on Muhammad Hassan, John Bradshaw Layfield and Orlando Jordan in a 2-on-3 handicap match in the main event. Before long, Michael Cole and Tazz cut in to do the audio work for the night's show.

Cole: "Welcome fans to SmackDown! It's a great Thursday night, and it's gonna get even better through the night. First of all, let's talk about the main event. Batista and The Undertaker are scheduled to take on Muhammad Hussan, John Bradshaw Layfield and the United States Champion Orlando Jordan! Batista and The Undertaker are two very powerful men, but they'll have their hands full with these three, that's for sure."

Tazz: "And don't forget, Batista will be going head-to-head with JBL in about a week's time Cole, for the World Heavyweight Championship, while Taker's got a date with Muhammad Hussan. And this is all at the Great American Bash!"

Cole: "Yes indeed, those two matches will have great significance as to what the main event at Summerslam may be. We could see Muhammad Hussan vs. John Bradshaw Layfield for all we know."

Tazz: "I don't like the sounds of that Cole. Hey look Cole, it's Booker T! Up there!"

Sure enough, Booker T had appeared on the TitanTron where Tazz was pointing. He was with Steve Romero, and clearly had something to say.

Steve Romero: "Booker T, just five days ago on Velocity, you were attacked after your match with Doug Basham, by Christian. What do you have to say about this."

Booker T: "What do I have to say? I have a lot to say, sucka. Ever since that punk-ass Christian came to SmackDown!, he's been in my face. Little things, like calling me names behind my back and shoving me in the hallways backstage. But now, he attacks me on Velocity because it's "my fault" he lost the Six-Man elimination match a while back. Now it's my turn for a shot. That little Captain Crunch bastard- or whatever he calls himself, has gotten himself into trouble. Because Christian has never gone face-to-face with me, he's always done things his way, the cheap way. So that's why I got us a match signed for the Great American Bash. So, you little cheap punk, I hope you're watching, because your ass is mine. Now can you dig that, SUCKAAAA?"

Booker T marches off with a grin as Steve Romero feels the effects of what an enthustiac interview can do to you.

    (88%)

Cole: "That certainly was a mouthful. And apparently we'll be seeing Booker T vs. Christian at the Great American Bash! That'll be interesting."

Tazz: "I always expect good things from the Booker Man, and he doesn't let me down."

    WWE Tag Team Championship

Big Stevie Cool and Hollywood Nova vs. MNM w/Melina ©

The two *smaller* members of the bWo began their chance at championship gold with Nova taking on Joey Mercury in the beginning of things. Mercury laughs at Nova's "beard", but Nova hits a couple of right hands, sending the arrogant Mercury to the canvas. Mercury staggers to his feet, and gets flipped head over heels by Nova, landing hard on his back! Nova tags in Big Stevie Cool, who instead of wearing the traditional bWo belly shirt is wearing attire similar to Kevin Nash's in his nWo days, with "Big Stevy" rather than "Big Sexy" written across his doublet. Stevie hits Mercury with a leg drop, then makes a cover, which is interrupted by Johnny Nitro. Joey is able to recover quickly now, and takes the upperhand in the match. Joey hits a suplex on Stevie, then follows with an impressive standing moonsault. Mercury makes the cover, but Stevie kicks out at the count of two, so he tags in his partner, Johnny Nitro. Nitro delivers a few hard stomps to Stevie, then drags him towards the corner, and climbs the ropes. He looks as if preparing to hit the Shooting Star Leg Drop, but Hollywood Nova pushes him off and climbs the ropes himself, and coming off with a wicked cross body splash on Nitro! This brings in Mercury, and all hell breaks loose as referee Nick Patrick has to deal with all four men at once. Stevie and Mercury exchange right hands, as Nova hits a scoop slam on Nitro. Stevie dodges a clothesline attempt from Mercury, and sends him toppling over the top rope to the ground below! Stevie follows with a crazy suicide splash to the outside, leaving Nova and Nitro on the inside. As Nova and Nitro battle back and forth, Melina hops up on the apron, and gives Nick Patrick a good reason to be distracted by showing off her "assets". Hogan, er Nova manages to hit the leg drop on Johnny Nitro, and the match is all but won! But Patrick is busy with other things, so Nova tries to get his attention back to the match. However, Nitro takes advantage of the obviously planned situation, and rolls Nova up with the School Boy maneuver! Nitro gets a grab of Nova's tights, something Nick Patrick is too dull to see, and MNM win to retain their belts, despite Nova not even being the legal man!

Winners, and still WWE Tag Team Champions: MNM

MNM can't celebrate for all too long, as Juventud and Psychosis storm the ring from out of nowhere! Melina scatters as the two jumpsuit clad Mexicools take MNM out quickly and effectively, leaving their belts in the ring. Psychosis grabs them both and lifts them high in the air, smiling, as Juventud calls for a microphone.

Cole: "It's the Mexicools! The Mexicools are here!"

Juventud: "Hahahaha. Ever since we came to SmackDown!, we've been keeping a close eye on everyone in the lockerroom. But we've been paying even closer attention to those with gold on their belts. And tonight, we seized the perfect opportunity to declare our dominance, to further show that Lucha Libre should be the most feared and respected wrestling style in the world! And by taking out these two fashion wannabe chumps, we have started takeover. But tonight isn't over. There will be more!"

Juventud and Psychosis laugh and hug, before leaving through the crowd, with MNM trying to figure out what the hell just happened, as they slowly get up from the ground.

    (76%, 72%, 81%)

The WWE Tag Team Titles have gained in image.

Tazz: "A Mexicool takeover? What's that supposed to mean?"

Cole: "I'm not sure, but it sounds interesting."

Cole and Tazz speculate on what the takeover could mean as SmackDown! heads to a commercial break.

SmackDown! returns with a former fan favourite who has turned into a distasteful human being as of late, Eddie Guerrero. His entrance is without the lowrider, as he is clearly here for business. Microphone in hand, Eddie climbs in the ring.

Eddie Guerrero: "Rey. Rey, esse. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not doing something I should of done long ago. And that's tell the truth, esse. I want to finish my little bedtime story to Dominic. And at Great American Bash holmes, I'll do just that. You see, Rey, I'll offer you a deal. You beat me at the Great American Bash, and I'll surrender. That secret will stay locked up inside of me for good. But if I win, esse, then the whole world will know. I'll be able to close the fairytale, holmes. So Rey, get your ass out here and tell me that you want this. You want a chance to keep it together, then come out here like a man. Right now holmes!"

Eddie doesn't have to wait a second longer as Rey hops into the ring from the crowd, and goes right at it with him! Rey unloads like a cannon, hitting Eddie into the corner and giving him tons of rights and lefts. Rey flips Eddie to the canvas, then goes upstairs, and sends Guerrero a powerful message, hitting him with his own trademark manuever, the Frog Splash! Rey stares at Eddie angrily, then grabs the mic that is lying in the center of the ring.

Rey Mysterio: "You say you want to fight me at the Great American Bash? And if win, you'll keep it whatever it is you're dying to tell everyone inside? I know you better than that Eddie. You aren't a man of your word. Even if I do beat you, like I have three times in a row, you'll tell the world. But I'll take up on your offer, esse. Because I'll do anything for a chance to kick your ass again, Eddie, and you can count on it."

Rey leaves with Eddie slumped across the canvas, looking up at the ceiling.

Cole: "Rey vs. Eddie at the Great American Bash, and if Eddie wins, he tells the world his secret!"

Tazz: "Oh boy, a lot more than any championship is on the line in that match!"

    (81%)

Cole: "When we come back, it'll be Chris Benoit taking on Nunzio in singles action!"

    Chris Benoit vs. Nunzio

Due for a United States Championship bout with Orlando Jordan at the Great American Bash, Benoit comes out to an overwhelming pop from the crowd. Nunzio gets a minor reaction, as the small Sicillian has become somewhat of a favourite in the eyes of SmackDown! fans. Nunzio and Benoit shake hands, and start the technicians contest. Benoit applies a quick headlock, but Nunzio pushes out of it and hits a dropkick on the Crippler. Nunzio hits some stiff chops to the chest, then manages to execute a snap suplex. Nunzio covers, but it's obviously not enough to put Benoit down. Benoit comes back with a suplex of his own, following up with a picture perfect neckbreaker. Benoit covers, but Nunzio gets a shoulder off the mat. Benoit applies a STF hold, but it's near the ropes so Nunzio escapes early.

Benoit chases Nunzio into the corner, and hits some cutthroat chops. Nunzio stops the assault with a kick to the midsection, and spears Benoit, going head first. Nunzio takes advantage of the opportunity of Benoit being down on the mat, connecting with an elbow drop on Benoit for a two count. Nunzio then attempts to hook Benoit in the Sicillian Crab, but he can't, as Benoit kicks him away, sending him into the turnbuckle. Benoit drops him with the Northern Lights Suplex as he comes back from the corner, but Nunzio just barely breaks out of the bridge. Benoit then signals for the finish, as he heads to the heavens, climbing the turnbuckle. Benoit connects with a Headbutt, and he reels from the impact. But he seizes control again, and quickly locks in the Sharpshooter, leaving Nunzio nowhere to go! Nunzio soon taps out, giving Benoit the submission victory.

    Winner: Chris Benoit

Chris Benoit raises his hands in victory, but Orlando Jordan doesn't let him celebrate, as he charges into the ring and hits Benoit from behind! Benoit staggers up and OJ swings at him again, but Benoit slips behind him and takes him down to the ground and snaps him in the Crippler Crossface! Jordan taps, but no referee can help him now! Benoit keeps the pressure on as SmackDown! heads to a break.

    (85%, 70%, 100%)

SmackDown! returns with the entrance music of Captain Charisma playing, but he does not come out alone, as by his side is a 1:8 scale version of Booker T, known as Booker Wee! Christian hides his smile, trying to be as "serious" with Booker Wee as he possibly can. The two slide into the ring, and Christian begins the conversation.

Christian: "Booker Wee. What a man you are. Wife of Sharmell Smallivan, five time WCW Champion. WCW standing for Widget Class Wrestling, of course. Say, Booker Wee, have you ever wrestled with any of the Seven Dwarfs? Or how about Mini-Me?"

Booker Wee looks up at Christian, shaking his head in confusion.

Christian: "You haven't? Well, have you ever faced someone who's main evented RAW and SmackDown! in the same week? Have you ever faced a man who has been a Multi-Time Intercontinental Champion? Have you ever faced a man who has his own unique legion of wrestling fans? Have you ever met the height requirements for an amusement park ride? I'm thinking you probably haven't. Which is why at the Great American Bash, Mr. Wee, you'll be in for the ride of your life. Because I'm Captain Charisma, the greatest wrestler on this show, and on this earth."

Booker Wee seems to have enough of Christian's remarks, and he "tackles" Christian. Christian feigns his agony as little Booker Wee hits him with small fists. Christian then gets to his knees, and Booker Wee tries to hit the Scissors Kick, but Christian stops the game and moves out of the way, then stomps on the vertically challenged combatant.

Christian: "Well, Booker Wee, you almost had me there. Unfortunately, you came up just a little bit short. And as for you, Booker T, you should be watching. Because the same is due to happen to you in just 10 days, when I beat you in front of all of my peeps."

Christian poses for his "fans", then he exits. Booker Wee can't be happy, and neither can Booker T.

Cole: "If you want a guy to get angry, that's one surefire way to do it, Tazz."

Tazz: "No doubt. 'Captain Charisma' best watch his back Cole, because Booker has it out for him."

    WWE Cruiserweight Championship

    Funaki vs. Paul London ©

Paul London gets ready to defend against "SmackDown!'s Numbah Won Announsah", putting his Cruiserweight Championship on the line. Funaki and Paul shake hands, then London takes Funaki down with an arm drag, and tries to hit a dropkick, but Funaki does as well, sending both men back down to the mat. They both retrieve quickly, with Funaki trying hit Paul with a running shoulder block. But the agile London jumps on Funaki's shoulders, and hits a Hurracanranna, leading into a pin, but Funaki kicks out. London scurries to the top rope and takes flight, attempting a Shooting Star Press, but Funaki rolls out of the way. Amazingly, London is able to catch this and land on his feet! Funaki gets behind London, and grabs him by the waist. It looks as if he is going for a back suplex, but Funaki counters by blocking his leg. Funaki, however, finds a new way through London's defense and surprises him with a tilt-a-whirl styled body slam. Funaki sprawls across London for the cover, but London kicks out at the count of two.

Funaki now tries for a Hurricane DDT, but London forces him off and hits a cruiser-sized Spinebuster, then immediately flips over on Funaki and hooks the legs in a unique bridge-styled pin. London comes close, but Funaki manages to escape. Funaki grabs hold of London on the ground, securing him in location and then dropping a knee on him. Funaki brings London to his feet, and whips him to the ropes. Funaki expects to clothesline Paul, but he ducks and comes of the ropes with a cross body splash. But Funaki rolls through it and tries to cover. No dice, as both wrestlers hop to their feet. London tries a vertical suplex, but Funaki slips behind him, and shoves him into the corner. Funaki expects to hit London with a high impact maneuver, but London springs back with an elbow to the jaw, knocking Funaki flat on the ground! London wastes no time in seizing the opportunity, as he hops to the top turnbuckle. However, before he can take off, Super Crazy jumps the security barrier and shoves Paul London off onto the ground below! He climbs the turnbuckle himself, and hits a Moonsault on Funaki, but doesn't stop there! He goes up again, and connects on Funaki again. But everyone knows that he doesn't stop at two. Third time's a charm, as Crazy destroys Funaki with the Trifecta Moonsault. The referee doesn't know what to make of the match, and a no decision is placed on the match.

Winner: No Contest (Paul London Retains)

Crazy, like Juvi and Psychosis before him, is full of smiles and energy. He grabs a microphone from Tony Chimmel, who's reluctant at first.

Super Crazy: "This is the takeover! The Mexicools are here, and we have SmackDown! in first gear, baby. So don't worry, this isn't the last you'll see of me, or the Mexicools. You'll see us in bigger places, bigger spaces, and we'll be larger than ever before!"

Super Crazy lets out a laugh, before passing by London who's still on the ground, reeling in pain.

Cole: "Bigger places, bigger spaces? This is really heating up Tazz!"

Tazz: "The Mexicools want to make an impact, and they are off on the right foot, that's for damn sure Cole."

    (60%, 34%, 87%)

Cole: "I'd have to agree there Tazz. When we come back, however, we will see two VERY different personalities go head-to-head, as the foul-mouthed, ass-kicking Hardcore Holly will be squaring off with Britain's true blue-blood, William Regal in singles action!"

When SmackDown! returns, the fans get a rare sighting of Undertaker backstage as he is shown on the TitanTron, walking slowly with a dark look in his eyes, as usual. People near him seem to be avoiding him at all costs, not wanting to fall victim to the Deadman. But with steel chair in hand, Muhammad Hussan has nothing to worry about as he comes running from behind Undertaker and lays him out with a steel chair! Hassan hits him again for good measure and then smiles, as the Undertaker, who has a match coming up soon involving Hassan, lies unconscious on the concrete floor as Hassan walks away!

    (83%)

Cole: "The Undertaker just got laid out! If he can't compete, that leaves Batista in a 3-on-1 situation against JBL, Jordan and Hassan!"

Tazz: "Batista's chances of having a partner don't look very good right about now!"

    William Regal vs. Hardcore Holly

William Regal makes his entrance as Tazz and Cole wonder what will happen to the main event with Undertaker out of action at the time being. Regal waves to the fans casually, but a waiting and impatient Hardcore Holly clotheslines him before he can get ready for the match. This allows Holly to go on the full out attack, taking Regal into the corner and nearly sending him out of the ring with rights and lefts. Hardcore Holly whips Regal in to the opposite turnbuckle, then hits a charging shoulder block. Straight out of the corner, Holly hits a stiff powerslam, then covers. Regal gasps for air as he kicks out, but that doesn't stop Holly. He applies a necktie hold, wanting a quick victory. Regal uses his legs to drag himself to the ropes, where he grabs hold of them to get Holly off of his back. Regal slowly recovers as the referee talks to Hardcore Holly about excessive roughness. Holly returns to his opponent who is waiting for him, hitting him with a high knee to the midsection, a trademark of European wrestlers.

In control now, Regal makes use of his boxing style method with his short jabs and light hopping, switching from foot to foot. A Regal chant begins in the building, but it soon dies out. Regal has a few of his jabs blocked by Holly, who then takes Regal out with a Spinebuster. Holly covers, almost sure of the win, but he can't quite get it done. Holly goes back to the destructive offense method, lifting Regal by one foot and then dropping him hard on the canvas, causing Regal to hit his knee. Regal writhes in pain, but the Mobile, Alabama native shows no sympathy, unless fierce stomps to the back of the head are his way of saying sorry. Regal is brought back to his feet, only to be hit with a hard uppercut from Holly. Holly tries a second, but it's dodged by Regal, who then hits a rock hard DDT, Holly going down face first. Regal then locks Holly in a move he doesn't want in, the STF. Regal applies as much pressure as possible, but Holly isn't giving in. After a good minute or so, Regal gives up and tries elsewhere. He bounces Holly off of the ropes setting up for the backdrop, but Hardcore just boots him square in the face! Holly then grabs Regal by the back of his thighs and places him on his shoulder. Regal enjoys a few moments of peace before he's devastated by the Alabama Slam, a sure win for Holly, who gets the convincing 1-2-3.

    Winner: Hardcore Holly

Holly doesn't celebrate much, he instead turns to shake Regal's hand. But he doesn't get the shake, instead he eats a handful of brass as Regal plows him right in the jaw with the brass knuckles! The Power Of The Punch leaves it's everlasting mark as Regal sneers as Holly lie flat out, while the fans boo Regal.

    (76%, 74%, 78%)

William Regal debuted his new gimmick (Old School Heel), it got a positive response. William Regal lost 1 point of overness from this match. Hardcore Holly gained 2 points of overness from this match. William Regal's turn was completed, and he is now a heel. William Regal gained 5 points of overness from this turn.

Tazz: "It's the Power Of The Punch Cole! It's back!"

Cole: "That definitely isn't a good thing. I thought Regal was past those days. I thought wrong, I guess. But here's something I do know for sure. Batista will be all alone as he faces John Bradshaw Layfield, Orlando Jordan, and Muhammad Hussan in the main event. And that's up NEXT!"

    Handicap Match

Batista and The Undertaker vs. John Bradshaw Layfield, Orlando Jordan and Muhammad Hussan

SmackDown! returns from it's final break as JBL and OJ make their way to the ring via limo, while Hussan follows afterwards. A cautious and angered Batista slowly makes his way to the ring, knowing he's in this alone. All three of his opponents smirk at him, as a man outnumbered 3 to 1 isn't a very feared man at all. Batista steps in the ring and surprisingly, all three men don't ambush him, instead, the match starts like normal, with the Animal taking on Orlando Jordan. Batista quickly beats him into the corner, unleashing all his anger out on him. After OJ is worn out from the rights and lefts, Batista tosses him around the ring by his head, hard thuds emitting from the mat each time Jordan hits the ground. Batista makes a running clothesline attempt at Jordan, but he trips him up, sending him right into the corner of JBL and Muhammad Hussan, who are more than happy to hold Batista back while Jordan unloads on him. After OJ is finished, he hands things over to his boss, John Bradshaw Layfield.

JBL laughs at the weakened Batista, and slaps him across the face. JBL then takes it to Batista as well, having Hassan and Jordan hold him while he throws everything he can at him, including stiff chops, kicks, and even a few blasts to the midsection. JBL hits a hard suplex and covers, but Batista makes a kickout at 2. Layfield tries to drag Batista back into the corner, but Batista spears him, pushing JBL's back hard into the second turnbuckle. Batista can't come up with any offense though, as Hassan and Jordan beat on him before he can start anything. JBL, who feels a little sore, tags in Hassan and the angered Arab American beats up on Batista as well. He hits him with a few axe-handle blows to the back, followed by the Ground Zero, the facebuster move that Hassan has won many matches in the past with. Hassan can't finish off Batista though, as he kicks out at 2 and a half. Hussan lets off of Batista and tags in Orlando Jordan, who climbs the top rope as Batista slowly gathers himself and gets to his feet. Jordan tries a Flying Cross Body, but he pays for not respecting Batista strength, as the World Heavyweight Champion grabs him in mid-air! JBL tries to make a move, but Batista is able to boot him off the apron, as well as Hassan. Batista then throws Orlando over his head, and then takes the US Champion one-on-one. He hits a series of bone-shattering moves, including a spinebuster, a powerslam, and a overhead suplex. Batista then gives the crowd a thumbs down signal, as he puts Jordan under him. He gets Jordan in the air, but OJ thinks quick and pokes Batista in the eyes, causing Batista to fall over. Jordan tries to pin him, but Batista gets him off in strong fashion, sending him flying off as if he were a cruiserweight.

Batista now sets up Orlando Jordan for the powerful forearm clothesline on the ropes, but Jordan goes for desperate measures. He pulls referee Brian Hebner in front of him, sending Hebner over the ropes instead of Jordan! Batista can't believe what he's just done, but Jordan takes advantage of it and hits a low blow on him, sending him to his knees. JBL tags in, and Hassan gets in as well, and the match literally becomes a 3 on 1, as all three men attack Batista. But suddenly, the crowd roars, as they spot Chris Benoit, who comes racing down the ramp and into the ring! Benoit goes straight for the US Champion, taking both Jordan and himself to the outside, where they begin to go back and forth on one another. Still, the 2 on 1 disadvantage proves too much on Batista, as JBL and Hassan beat down on him. The ref slowly makes his way back in the ring, but he is still unaware to what is going on.

Layfield hits the Clothesline From Hell on Batista, and Hassan then locks in the Camel Clutch, but Batista isn't tapping, only because he has passed out. Hassan figures it's no use, so he slides out of the ring, and grabs a steel chair. Unknown to Hebner, Hassan hits Batista in the chair, who seems to have come to from the impact. Hassan and JBL laugh, knowing that they are about to win the match, in the most unfairest of ways. But the laughter ends, as the lights go out, leaving JBL and Hassan blind! They come back on, and none other than the Undertaker is standing in the ring, as Hassan and JBL stare in fear! They charge at him, but he clotheslines them both. Hassan scatters as JBL is left all alone with the Deadman, who grabs JBL by the throat and sends him to the depths of hell with a thunderous Chokeslam! The Undertaker then goes after Hassan, as Batista gets up, looking around to find out what happened. JBL sprouts up and tries to fight him, it's no use, as the rejuvenated Batista sets him down with the Batista Bomb, and gets the slow and dramatic count from Hebner to get the win for himself and The Undertaker, who returned at just the right time!

    Winners: Batista and The Undertaker

    (82%, 86%, 76%)

Cole: "The Undertaker and Batista win!"

Tazz: "Talk about an electrifying win Cole! What a match!"

Batista celebrates on the turnbuckles for the crowd with his belt, as a hardfought brawl takes place on the outside involving Benoit, Jordan, Hassan and The Undertaker. Batisa then goes to leave, but his exit is denied by JBL, who hits the Clothesline From Hell, sending Batista down with a thud! Boos fill up the arena as JBL grabs the World Heavyweight Championship and holds it high over Batista's fallen body, as SmackDown! reels to a close...

    WWE SmackDown! Preview (07.15.05)

Last week, Christian, the self-proclaimed star of the company took on the World Heavyweight Champion, Batista. Batista won that match, despite interference from Orlando Jordan. JBL tried to interfere as well, but only got thrown out of the ring for his efforts, while OJ suffered in the worst way, being dismantled by Batista, getting hit with the Batista Bomb. Not only did JBL get thrown out of the ring, he suffered an embarrasing loss to the Blue Meanie earlier in the night at the hands of Batista. But JBL will be seeking revenge, and he'll certainly have his chance. Because in the main event, we will see Batista and the Undertaker take on John Bradshaw Layfield, Orlando Jordan, and Muhammad Hussan in a handicap match! While JBL is skeptical of the Arab people, I'm sure he won't mind a helping hand in taking down two of his most fierce competitors. Tune it at 7/6c to catch the action from the start.

Also in action, are none other than Blue Meanie's delightful bWo stablemates, Hollywood Nova and Big Stevie Cool! The two will have an enourmous opportunity when they take on MNM for the WWE Tag Team Championship! Blue Meanie will surely be there to cheer on his buddies as they chase for gold.

An in the final match known as of now, we will see two different personalities clash, as the foul-mouthed, ass-kicking Hardcore Holly will go toe-to-toe with well-mannered  and usually (but not always) classy William Regal! Regal has not seen action on SmackDown! yet, as his match last week was cut short when the Mexicools stormed the ring and put a beating on his opponent, Matt Morgan! Regal will look to take a win in his first match against the Mobile, Alabama native on SmackDown!

Catch all this and much, much more on an exciting episode of SmackDown!, Thursday on UPN at 7/6c!

    WWE RAW (07.11.05)

Announcers: Jim Ross, The King, and The Coach

    Attendance: 7,506

RAW kicked off with a recap video from last week, where HBK put a lasting effect into Hogan, literally, when he composed a note of Sweet Chin Music for Hulk Hogan, knocking the Immortal One out cold! Hogan will have his say in tonight, and he'll certainly want answers from the Showstopper! RAW's intro then cut in, followed by the regular pyros, leading to audio commentary with JR and The King, and the most recent addition to the announce team, The Coach.

JR: "Welcome one, and welcome all to WWE RAW! We have quite the show ready for you folks at the arena and you at home. First off, it's gonna be Kerwin White and-"

Coach: "Jim, Jim, let me handle this, I'm much more qualified. In beginning action, Kerwin White will be going one on one with the devious Tajiri. And Kurt Angle will be taking on-"

King: "Hey, hey, Coach! We both know I can do this way better. What he was going to say, is that Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle will be taking on Chris Jericho in RAW's main event! Oh boy what a match that'll be. Even better, Chris Jericho will be having an exclusive interview with Maria Kanellis! I can't wait!"

JR: "Are you both forgetting what happened at the end of RAW last week? Damnit! Shawn Michaels superkicked Hogan straight to hell! You can't ignore something like that!"

Coach: "I'm shocked that it happened JR, but that old fogey got what he had comin' to him! Shawn Michaels did the right thing."

King: "Coach's right JR, Hogan got what he deserved."

JR: "I have never seen a more vile and shocking act done by Shawn Michaels in all the time I've known him, and I've known him for quite a while. I hope Hogan get's his retribution, because that's the only thing he deserves right about now, I'll tell you what."

    King: "Retribution? He deserves-"

"When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside"

JR: "Speaking of Hogan, here he is now King!"

King: "I know a Hogan when I hear one, JR.

The arena erupts as the Hulkster makes his way down to the ring in decorated fashion, and in a surprisingly good mood. He poses on the rampway, then makes his way down to the ring. He gives Lillian Garcia his feather boas, then gets down to business.

Hulk Hogan: "It's really great to be here in Houston, let me tell you somethin'. But unfortunately, I got some serious business to be taking care of. Last week, all you Hulkamaniacs witnessed a vile deed, by someone who I thought was my friend. By a true man! But Shawn Michaels turned out to be just like some of the scum in the back, like those punks Kurt Angle and Carlito. Now, Shawn, I ain't one to take a kick in the face and just walk away. I want some answers, brother, so get your ass out here!"

Not long after Hogan demands Shawn's presence, the Heartbreak Kid makes his way out on the ramp, met with a chorus of boos. Instead of being dressed in his ring attire, he is dressed in all black, and shows no emotion on his face, quite similar to what he looked like a week ago when he downed the Hulkster. He looks at Hogan with a somewhat dizzy gaze, before speaking.

Shawn Michaels: "So you want answers, Hulk? Maybe you should be giving me the answers. You know, before I got into the wrestling business, I idolized you. I wanted to BE you. I wanted to have MY legion of fans that had their own names, and I wanted my name on every bit of merchandise possible. And Hulk, it didn't take long for me to surpass you. When you went to the WCW, I took over in every possible aspect. I bathed in the WWE's limelight. I put on clinics with the likes of Bret Hart, Scott Hall, Owen Hart, Steve Austin, and I headlined more than my fair share of PPV events. And you? You were treading around in WCW, as "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, a washed up superstar hiding behind a superficial image. But I still respected you for what you had accomplished over the years, you basically made this company what it is today. But I kept it that way. And then, at Wrestlemania 21, when you returned to the company, my dream was realised. I could finally do what I wanted to do. When I called upon you to be my tag team partner at Backlash, that wasn't the last match I had in mind. Since the day you came back, I wanted your last match to be against me, the Heartbreak Kid, the Showstopper, at the true midsummer classic. At Summerslam. And I'll make sure it's not only your best match, but your last match."

Michaels keeps his emotionless face, as Hogan looks at him, in anger, and shock.

    (83%)

Hulk Hogan lost 2 points of overness from this segment.

JR: "Shawn Michaels just challenged Hulk Hogan for a match at Summerslam! What a blockbuster that could be!"

King: "Pfft, yeah right JR. I'd rather watch a bra and panties match over that!"

JR: "King, you'd rather watch a bra and panties match over anything."

RAW goes to a commercial break, as Hogan is shown still standing in the ring, as he keeps his eyes locked with Michaels.

    Kerwin White vs. Tajiri

RAW returns with it's opening action, with Kerwin White 'debuting' against Tajiri, sporting attire similar to Kurt Angle, sans the patriotic colors. Instead, the attire is a banana yellow. Tajiri laughs at Kerwin when he gets in the ring, saying something insulting in Japanese. Kerwin pretends to ignore it, but then slaps Tajiri to get the match underway. Kerwin gets Tajiri into the corner and chokes him with his boot, stopping before the ref considers disqualifying him. Kerwin lets off as Tajiri gets back to his feet, but then he spears him into the turnbuckle. Kerwin lets Tajiri go flying with a Monkey Flip, followed by a leg drop for a two count. Kerwin applies a headlock, but Tajiri soon counters with his acrobatic ability, in turn applying the hold on the newfound American! Tajiri lets off the hold, then hits a DDT, and makes a cover, but Kerwin is able to kick out. Tajiri brings Chavo *ahem* Kerwin to his feet, and tries the Irish Whip, but Kerwin reverses the whip sending Tajiri to the ropes. However, Tajiri uses the backspring elbow to take down White, and cover again. But Tajiri can only get the two count. White, dazed now, uses some desperate tactics to gain the upperhand, as he pushes Tajiri into the ref, who goes face first into the turnbuckle! While the ref recovers, White hits a unseen low blow, taking Tajiri out in a hurry! As referee Chris Kay gets back to the action, White rolls Tajiri up for the cover, 1-2-3!

    Winner: Kerwin White

White celebrates as if he fought through blood, sweat and tears for his victory, climbing a turnbuckle, taunting for the crowd.

    (84%, 76%, 100%)

JR: "All-American my ass. I should of seen it coming from Chavo, sorry, I mean Kerwin White."

King: "Wow! What a way for Kerwin to debut on RAW! A victory!"

Meanwhile, as Tajiri leaves the ring, cameras cue backstage, where Chris Jericho is with Maria, who is wearing a very revealing outfit!

Maria: "So, Chris, what are your thoughts on your match with Kurt Angle tonight?"

Jericho: "What are my thoughts? I don't think about a match I could win with my hands tied behind my back. Kurt is a phoney. I've beaten him before and I'll do it again, tonight. Woo, he's the only wrestler in WWE history to have won a gold medal. But is he the lead singer of a kickass rock band that has sold out worldwide? No. And after I beat that cheap trick, I'll be able to convince Eric Bischoff I'm ready for a title shot against the "Doctor of Thugonamics", John Cena. Now, why don't you and I..."

Jericho grabs the mic from Maria and throws it away, and tries to kiss her, but she shoves away. As Jericho tries to advance on her once again, John Cena appears, and gets in Jericho's face!

Cena: "You better watch your back, before I break it."

Jericho: "Oh yeah? You better watch your title, before I take it."

Jericho leaves the screen, leaving Cena to comfort Maria.

Val Venis vs. Carlito Carribean Cool ©

Carlito opens the match up by biting an apple, and spitting it in the face of Val Venis. But Venis doesn't take things too well, clotheslining Carlito to start the match! Venis keeps Carlito on the mat with hard stomps, followed by a back suplex for a two count. Carlito tries to regroup, but only gets hit by a stiff shoulder block when he gets to his feet again. Venis puts Carlito in the corner, and roughs him up with some hard shots to the midsection, but Carlito fights back with a thumb to the eyes. Carlito hits Venis with a knee to the gut, followed by his signature DDT maneuver, but his pinfall attempt falls short at the two count. Carlito gives Venis a few shots to the head before dropping a knee to the nose of Val Venis. This causes Val to squirm with pain, while Carlito shows no sympathy and applies an armbar hold. The move soon wears off on Venis, as he retaliates with hard right hands to the skull of Carlito!

Val gets back in the driver's seat as he hits a hard back suplex on Carlito. Carlito reels, but he has no time to recover as Val hits a Full Nelson Bomb, and makes the cover! Val counts along with the referee, who seems to think it is over as well, 1...2...Carlito gets a foot on the bottom ropes! Venis is shocked to think that all he put out in the Full Nelson Bomb was to no avail, but he keeps on the offense. Val hits a painful powerslam, then goes upstairs. He signals for the Money Shot, and then takes flight. But Carlito is able to pull out of the way in time, giving Venis nothing but hard canvas. Val gets to his feet dizzily, only to find Carlito waiting for him. Carlito wastes no time in putting his finishing touch on the match, as he knocks Venis down a peg with the Swinging Neckbreaker. Fans moan in realisation of the match's outcome, as Carlito covers, 1....2....NO! Venis is able to kick out! Carlito goes beserk, bewildered by Venis' will. Carlito tries an Irish Whip to the ropes, but is reversed by Val. But he comes back at Venis and slides under, and gets him in the small package pin maneuver. And for extra insurance, Carlito slyly puts a foot on the ropes for leverage! Venis struggles to break free, but Carlito gets the decision, 1-2-3.

Winner, and still WWE Intercontinental Champion: Carlito Carribean Cool

    (75%, 73%, 76%)

JR: "Come on damnit! That sly Carlito sonofabitch. Last week he ran away from his challenge, this week he cheats his way through it."

    King: "Now that's cool!"

    Coach: "It certainly is King!"

After RAW gets back from a commercial break, we see Rob Conway out in the ring, sporting a look similar to when he first debuted in 2003. Dressed casually, Conway has an evil grin on his face.

Rob Conway: "You know, last night, on Sunday Night Heat, I lost to the Big Show."

Before he can continue, the fans cheer for the Big Show.

Rob Conway: "BUT, that's not why I am out here tonight. Last night, I turned a new leaf. I strayed away from "La Resistance", something I should of done a LONG time ago. But it only set up what will happen tonight. You see, even though I am a terrific singles competitor, I have had even more success in a tag team. I was a tag team champion countless times in La Resistance, and in Ohio Valley Wrestling, a place you've all probably never heard of because you lack brains, I was a THREE-time OVW World Heavyweight Champion, and nine times was I one half of an OVW Southern Tag Team Championship team. With who? Someone who has equal skill to mine, but has been sidelined with an injury since January, up until now! So please welcome back Eugene!"

The fans roar in approval of Eugene's return, as the innocent and happy Eugene dances his way down to the ring.

    JR: "It's Eugene! Eugene's back!"

    King: "Eugene?"

    Coach: "Eugene."

Eugene makes his way into the ring, and shakes hands with Rob Conway, and he grabs the mic from him, excitedly.

Eugene: "WOOOOOOW! How I played all of you like such fools."

The cheering comes to an abrupt halt as Eugene's tone of speech suddenly becomes that of a regular person.

Eugene: "Yeah. I'm not really handicapped, and I'm not Eric Bischoff's 'special' little nephew, and my name certainly isn't 'Eugene'. God, that has to be the worst name someone could be named. I used Eugene to win all of you over, and to get the attention I deserved. For six god damn years, I made a career in OVW. Not once did the WWE management give me a tryout match, until last year. And certainly, if I wanted to stay, I couldn't rely solely on my pristine wrestling ability. I had to act like a dolt, an idiot, so I could get into the heart of every single fan. I loved it. I was a 'special' hero to all of you, and I even became World Tag Team Champion with that lousy Briton. But then, I was injured in January. No biggie, my career had hit bigger potholes in the past. I'd just rehab, and get loads of fan mail from my 'loving' fans. But you bastards were nothing close to 'loving'. You couldn't care less. Once I was out of the spotlight, your short attention spans targeted some other schmuck that sucked up to the fans to become a favourite, just like I did. Guys like Triple H are the ones you should be cheering for, at least he tells the truth about you morons. So when I had my return date set, I contacted Rob. I contacted him, and I made him an offer. An offer he couldn't refuse. And with his bumbling Frenchman partner gone to SmackDown!, the opportunity couldn't be skipped. It had to happen. No longer am I the loveable 'Eugene'. You people are much better at acting retarded than I am, because you actually are. I'm Nick Dinsmore, and don't you forget it."

Rob takes back the mic as he hugs Nick Dinsmore, while the fans shower them with boos.

Rob Conway: "That's right. Along with Rob Conway, we are the Lords Of The Ring. And next week, we will challenge 'The Super Heros' for the World Tag Team Championships, and we will win."

Conway and Dinsmore raise their arms in celebration, and then they leave the ring, as the fans boo at them in disgust, but mainly at Nick, for his betrayal of them.

JR: "He pulled one over on all of us! What a scheming bastard!"

King: "Looks like the fans were the dumb ones!"

Coach: "Oh I never believed it for a second. I knew he was faking all along."

    (76%)

Rob Conway debuted his new gimmick (Arrogant), it got a positive response. Nick Dinsmore debuted his new gimmick (Arrogant), it got a positive response. Nick Dinsmore's turn was completed, and he is now a heel. Nick Dinsmore gained overness from this segment.

JR: "Well, Nick or Eugene, he's still a good wrestler, no matter where his head is. Stay tuned after the break, because Edge will be taking on the Big Show in one-on-one action!"

    Edge vs. Big Show

RAW comes back on air with Edge's music playing as he makes his way out with his loving companion, Lita, and his prized possession, the Money In The Bank contract. Edge and Lita play a bit of tonsil hockey before being scared out of the ring by the entrance of the Big Show. Edge and Lita are held at bay as Show stomps around in the ring, taunting for the crowd. Edge slides in the ring while Lita keeps the briefcase safe, and the match begins with a traditional tie-up. Foolishly, Edge tries to lift the 500 pound Show, and fails miserably. Show hits Edge with a big open palm slap, sending him into the corner. Big Show licks his hand, and then delivers another slap, turning the skin on Edge's chest to a beet red. Show hits Edge with a suplex, then makes a cover, but Edge is able to kick out.

Show applies pressure to Edge's left leg, using his own knee as a wedge. He bends and twists it, as Edge thrashes around in pain. This brings Lita to the turnbuckle, who argues with the ref, allowing Edge to give Big Show a blatant rake to the eyes! Edge jumps on top of Show, and unloads on him with a series of rights and lefts, as Lita backs down off of the apron. Edge continues the onslaught until Show is beaten down enough. Edge backs off and lets Big Show get to his feet, then he takes him down again with a dropkick to the back. Edge applies a front headlock, yelling at Show to give up. But that only motivates the big monster, as he powers out with ease. Show grabs Edge by his long hair and lifts him to his feet, and slaps a hand on his throat! Show attempts to hit Edge with the Showstopper, but Edge elbows out of it in the nick of time. Edge gets free from Show's grasp, then gives him a shot to the gut and levels him out with the Edgeacation! Edge hooks the leg, 1...2...Show kicks out with power, sending Edge flying! Edge stumbles backwards into the corner in shock.

Show gets up and lets out a warcry, as Edge slides out of the ring in fear. Show chases after him, and eventually catches up, but Edge is prepared, whipping Show into the guardrail hard! Edge then grabs Show, and smashes his head on the ring post, opening a small cut on Show's head. Show looks to be out of it, as he slumps against the ring, allowing Edge to work on him with hard fists. Edge rolls Show into the ring with a bit of a struggle, then follows him in. Edge whips Show into the far corner, and sets up to go coast-to-coast with the Spear. Show gets off of his knees, and Edge charges right for him, but he gets sidestepped, sending him right into referee Earl Hebner! Edge looks in shock at his mistake, and turns around to get a whopping fist to the head from the Big Show! Edge scatters to his feet again, and this time Show straps his hand around Edge's throat, and takes him for the ride! Show skips going for the cover, noticing that the ref is down. He goes to work on Edge, but Lita shows up on the turnbuckle. She starts arguing with Big Show, flailing her arms around aimlessly. Meanwhile, Edge crawls over to the ring steps, and grabs his prized black briefcase. Big Show turns around and WHAM, Edge clocks him with the briefcase, sending him hard to the mat. Edge slides the briefcase out to Lita, and hooks the leg on Show, as a weakened Hebner counts the 1-2-3!

    Winner: Edge

JR: "Aw come on now! Damn that jezebel! Damn her straight to hell."

King: "Speaking of hell, don't you think that's where Kane should-"

JR: "I wouldn't say it, King."

Lita gets in the ring to celebrate with her hubbie, but the celebration is cut short when the lights go out! The camera shows Edge and Lita panicking in the darkness, but in an instant the light returns, along with flaming ringposts, as Kane appears behind the unknowing couple! Edge and Lita slowly turn around fearing the worst, and their nightmare is indeed true! Edge and Lita make their escape, bolting up the entrance ramp as Kane laughs maniacally as RAW goes to a commercial.

RAW returned with Hulk Hogan standing by a coffee table, talking to a staff member. He says goodbye and turns to leave, but Shawn Michaels comes onto the screen, and threw him onto the coffee table! Michaels stared Hogan down as he lied in the wreckage, then left as staff began to attend to the downed Hulkster.

    (90%)

JR: "Well that certainly was a disgusting display by Shawn Michaels. What has gotten into him lately?"

King: "Brains, obviously! He's finally dumped Hogan, and now he's gonna fight him at Summerslam!"

Coach: "If Hogan is man enough to accept the challenge, that is."

JR: "If I know Hogan he won't back down from a challenge. But up next folks, is a match that may just make you forget about Hogan and HBK for the time being. Christ Jericho vs. Kurt Angle, NEXT!"

    Kurt Angle vs. Chris Jericho

Of course, Y2J comes out to his star-studded titan-tron, followed by Kurt Angle's patriotic entrance that is ruined by the everlasting "YOU SUCK" chants from the fans. At the beginning of the match, Angle sizes up his competitor, circling him, then charging in for the attack. Angle grabs Jericho by the leg, tripping him up. Angle then applies an armbar hold in dead center of the ring, already pressuring Jericho to submit. Jericho holds steady, though, eventually forcing Angle to give up on the hold and try elsewhere. Angle does just that, as he uses his trademark Fireman's Carry on Jericho, then making the cover, but only getting a two. Angle tries to land a suplex, but Jericho lands behind him and hits a snap neckbreaker, bringing Angle's momentum to a halt. Jericho hits a dropkick while Angle is in the sitting position, then makes his pin attempt, but can only find a two count as well.

Jericho makes an attempt to go upstairs, but Angle is aware and quickly sprouts to his feet and climbs the turnbuckles and throws Jericho off. Kurt then comes off with a crossbody on Jericho, and tries to make the cover, but Jericho is able to roll through! The ref counts, 1-2-Angle reverses the pin, getting on top of things. The ref counts for him, but Jericho is able to break out just in time. Both men get to their feet, and are cheered for their quick display of pure wrestling ability. They then engage in a tie up, in which Angle gets the advantage. He gets behind Jericho, and then lets fly with all of his strength with a bonechilling German Suplex! But Angle isn't satisfied with just one, and again slams Jericho with a German. Angle is convinced three's a charm, and executes yet another, and then makes the cover. Jericho kicks out, dissapointing, but not surprising Angle.

Both men are tired now, as the ref speaks to Jericho, asking him if he's hurt. As Jericho is shortly attended to, Angle lets out a "Wooooooo", then undoes his straps, signalling that he's ready to go full throttle. Angle gets the ref out of the way and tries to get Jericho up, but he pushes him over, sending him shoulder first into the ring post! Angle backpeddles, stumbling, and finally falls on the mat favouring his shoulder. Jericho takes advantage of the moment and tries to hit the Lionsault, but Angle rolls out of the way, causing Jericho to have to land on his feet. Angle once again gets up with lightning speed in an attempt to catch Jericho, as he grabs his foot. Jericho hops around on his right foot for a few seconds, but then finds a solution by hitting Angle straight across the mouth with the Enziguri! Jericho then goes to the ropes and flies off of them with the Lionsault, this time connecting. Jericho hooks the leg expecting the victory, but can't get it done as Angle raises his shoulder to stay alive in the match. Jericho lets out a sigh, and continues on with the match. He catapults Angle into the corner then makes a cover attempt with the School Boy pin, but that fails as well. It seems as if Jericho is going to use the catapult once again, but this time he steps over and applies the Walls Of Jericho! Angle yells out, the pressure on his back and legs obviously very painful. But before any damage can be done, Angle gets to the ropes, forcing Jericho off of him.

Jericho is on the receiving end of an Irish Whip, but hangs on to the ropes. Fortunate for him, as Angle was planning a dropkick, but instead hits nothing and lands hard on the canvas. Jericho then makes use of the opportunity, trying to apply the Walls once again. But Angle sees it coming, and rolls through, and locks on his signature submission, the dreaded Ankle Lock! Jericho takes no time to show his pain, as Angle has his ankle in a tight grip, yanking at it like a rabid pitball. Angle screams for Jericho to tap, but just like Angle, he's not going to give up that easy in this situation. Jericho finally reaches his oasis, aka the ropes, but Angle pulls him away before he is forced to let go. Jericho realises that it may be over for him, but he finds a way out by flipping over and kicking Angle off of him. Angle leans against the ropes as Jericho gets to his feet slowly, favouring his left leg which was victim to the Ankle Lock. Angle sluggishly moves towards Jericho and swings at him, but misses, allowing Jericho to get behind him and bridge him with the Northern Lights Suplex. But Angle kicks out of the pin resulting from the move. Jericho brings Angle to his eye level, who suddenly gets behind him and tries for the Angle Slam! But Jericho gets behind him and lands, and shoves him into the corner. Jericho tries a clothesline attempt on the cornered Angle, but he slips out of the way, sending Jericho flying into the turnbuckle corner. He hits his head, and then flies backwards, right into the hands of a waiting Kurt Angle. This time he hits the Angle Slam without fail, and makes the cover. Angle covers, and the ref counts, 1....2....3!

    Winner: Kurt Angle

JR: "What a spectacle that was! You viewers at home just got a very special treat from two great athletes. Love or hate either man, that truly was a great contest."

King: "Great? There were no puppies. I'd say good at best."

    Coach: "I agree King."

Angle celebrated his victory by climbing the turnbuckle and raising his arms, but the ceremony was short-lived, as Jericho meets him when he gets off the turnbuckle! Jericho and Angle go at it, but they soon aren't alone as John Cena comes flying down the entrance way! He slides into the ring and goes right at it with Jericho, before knocking him out of the ring. Angle tries to attack him, but only gets an F-U for his efforts! Cena rips his shirt off and throws his hat into the crowd, and stands tall in the ring as both Jericho and Angle look at him from either sides of the ring!

JR: "It's Cena! Cena! The champ is here!"

    WWE RAW Preview (07.11.05)

Last week, we witnessed a shocker when Shawn Michaels did the unthinkable by delivering a note of Sweet Chin Music to his tag team partner, Hulk Hogan after their match with Kurt Angle and Carlito Carribean Cool, then leaving him unconscious in the ring. What will the Showstopper have to say about his actions? We do know that Hulk Hogan will be speaking on the events that took place, and he'll for sure want some answers.

If you recall last week, we saw a new side of 'Chavo Guerrero'. In fact, we saw him relinquish his heritage, claiming it was keeping him down, and announced he had legally changed his name to Kerwin White, and was now enjoying life as a Middle-Class American! Kerwin will certainly have his chance to prove that his new culture will do right by him when he squares off with the Japanese Buzzsaw, Tajiri! Tune in on RAW to see who will end up victorious.

Since Vengeance, we have not seen or heard of Triple H, who came up empty yet again against Batista trying to win the World Heavyweight Championship, this time in his special environment. Will the Game appear on RAW? Or will Monday Night still contain the abscense of the Cerebral Assasin?

Chris Jericho has been in a slump of sorts lately. He came up short at Vengeance trying to capture the WWE Championship from John Cena, and since then, the Doctor Of Thugonamics has embarrased him with harsh comments. But Y2J will have a chance to prove he deserves another shot at championship gold when he goes toe-to-toe with Kurt Angle in the main event! Can the Ayatolla of Rock N' Rolla defeat his Olympic nemesis? Or will the former three-time WWE Champion come up with the win?

All this and more will go down on RAW, so tune in at 9/8 c!

    Confirmed Matches:

    Kerwin White vs. Tajiri

    Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle

  6. WWE Sunday NewsWire (Sunday, July 10th, 2005)

    WWE Diva Search A Flop

The WWE Diva Search has been effectively cancelled, after the segment last week drew in atrocious ratings. There were talks about last years being cancelled after the low ratings the segments were getting, but it was saved from the axe. This year, WWE management have decided not to go on with the monstrosity. The 'divas' will likely be signed to a six month contract or paid off for their endeavors.

    Summerslam Main Event?

Rumours are that the WWE have released a promo poster with John Cena, Eddie Guerrero, Triple H and Batista pictured in the four corners. This could possibly mean Triple H vs. John Cena and Batista vs. Eddie at Summerslam, but the WWE had mentioned Triple H may be taking some time off.

    Brock Lesnar Deal Falls Through

After having a two part meeting with Vince McMahon that was considered very successful, Brock Lesnar will not be rejoining the WWE. He was offered a position by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League a few months back, and has decided to take up on that offer. If you recall, Lesnar made the Minnesota Vikings NFL squad, but was cut in preseason after posting less than average numbers.

Segment 1: Tajiri vs. Tyson Tomko

Tyson Tomko looked to solve the problem of being useless as he now flies solo with Christian headlining Thursday nights. Tajiri, although much smaller than Tomko roughs him around, putting him in the Tarantula, hitting him with the mist, and then ending this borefest with his signature Buzzsaw Kick.

    Segment 2: Just Rob Conway

Rob Conway comes out, of course, by himself, now that Grenier no longer on the RAW brand. Conway explains that now he is without that ridiculous Frenchman he can get back to his American roots. This of course draws out some cheers from the crowd, but he quickly shows his arrogance by saying he still has to deal with the idiotic fans week after week. But he's out here for a different reason. Since the draft, he's done some thinking. He wants to be noticed, and what other way to be noticed than beating RAW's biggest superstar, that being the Big Show. He challenges Show for tonight, but is informed the big man hasn't arrived yet. Conway laughs, then goes backstage.

Segment 3: World Tag Team Championship

Val Venis and Viscera vs. The Super Heros w/Stacy

Venis claims his partner is the biggest pimp he's ever seen, so he's cool. Too bad this match isn't. Viscera stays in and dominates the small Hurricane, putting him from corner to corner. But Super Stacy uses her 'assets' to distract Big Vis, drawing him away from the ring. He tags in Venis, and goes after Stacy, who runs up the ramp. Venis tries to take on both members at the same time, but it's no use. Rosey hits the Samoan Drop, and that's all she wrote.

Segment 4: The Kick Heard Around The World

Rewind to RAW this past Monday, which had a shocking denouement. The video showed previous clips of Hogan and HBK tagging together, leading up to RAW where HBK gave Hogan a mouthfull of boot with the Sweet Chin Music. An announcement by Coach is made that Hogan will be on RAW with something to say.

    Segment 5: Warming Up

Conway is shown backstage in his lockerroom, hitting a punching bag. He seems to hit a knuckle, as he favours it, obviously being in pain. He then notices the camera, then pretends to not feel it, and keeps punching the bag.

Segment 6: Well, It's The Big Show!

Show finally arrives, and gets caught up by Maria. She explains that he has been challenged, and he laughs. Maria tells him Conway is serious, and Show decides that if he wants a match, then he is going to get squashed like a bug. Wow, quite the buildup for this one. A mini-feud, of sorts!

Segment 7: Big Show vs. Rob Conway

Conway scurries out to the ring, and Show follows with his big entrance. Fans pop for the pyros. As Show climbs into the ring, Conway gets out, keeping his distance with the seven foot monster. He tries to approach Show from the side, but he just gets pounded down. Show starts by tossing Conway out of the ring, Show taunts him to get back in, and he foolishly does, just getting knocked down. Show cuts this contest off fast, hitting the Showstopper to end Conway, and to end Heat.

    WWE Velocity (07.09.05)

Announcers: Josh Matthews and Todd Romero

    Fans In Attendance: 7,513

    Segment 1: JBL/Batista SmackDown! Recap

The video opens up with The Blue Meanie being beaten around in his match with JBL, which eventually led up to Batista getting in the ring and giving JBL a huge spinebuster, giving Meanie the win. A small music clip was played with some of the previous weeks footage of Batista being drafted to SmackDown! to the dismay of JBL, finally ending it with hype for their match at the Great American Bash.

    (86%)

Segment 2: Sylvian Grenier vs. Scotty 2 Hotty

Grenier made his SmackDown! debut, against Scotty 2 Hotty. Plenty of 'USA' chants here, as Grenier comes in waving a French flag, much like Rene did upon his arrival to RAW. Scotty has a few opportunities to hit the Worm, but comes up short. Grenier wins with an unseen low blow, followed by a nice Running Powerslam.

    (67%, 64%, 70%)

    Segment 3: Booker Gets Heated!

Booker appears in a backstage interview with SmackDown's self-proclaimed 'Numbah Won Announca", Funaki. He looks prime and ready for his match tonight, which is against Doug Basham, who's now flying solo. Booker basically calls Doug a sucka, and then tells any other challengers that Doug's beatdown is fair warning.

    (88%)

Segment 4: Nunzio vs. Hollywood Nova

It appears as if the bWo will be sticking around for some time, as Hollywood Nova comes to the ring, accompanied by his bWo stablemates, Big Stevie Cool and The Blue Meanie. In this bout, Nunzio puts up a fight, but is no match for the bWo's antics as they constantly interfere and taunt Nunzio, allowing Nova to have the upperhand for the most of the match. Nunzio finally gets too distracted, allowing Hollywood Nova to roll him up for the win. Bit of a cheeser here, a surprise considering the two wrestlers involved. The match was good, but the fans never got into it.

    Segment 5: JBL On Velocity!?

None other than John Bradshaw Layfield is shown in a business suit, sitting on a sofa in a room somewhere in the arena. He is talking to whom seems to be a woman on phone, as he attempts to seduct her with sweet talk. But his plans are ruined when a man brings him coffee, and he blurts "God damnit are you stupid?" because the man screws up on his order. The person on the phone obviously hears this, and thinks the comment is directed at them. JBL tries to explain, but is hung up on! In a fit of anger, JBL pours the coffee on the man's head, and leaves the room!

    (86%)

Segment 6: Booker T vs. Doug Basham

Booker T squares off with Doug in the Velocity main event, and for the most part, is in total control. Doug tries numerous amounts of moves which Booker reverses or blocks, giving the lone Basham brother a hard time. Doug tries to hit a Leg Lariat, but Booker avoids the catastrophe and finishes Doug off with an Axe Kick, scoring the 1-2-3. Booker leaves the ring and heads up the ramp in celebration, but from out of the crowd comes Christian! Christian blindsides Booker T, followed by some stiff shots to the back! He gets Booker T in position, then nails him with the Unprettier! Christian's music plays while he taunts the booing crowd, as Velocity leaves the airwaves.

  9. It was July 8th, 2005. A Friday. The WWE had just gone through it's second annual Draft Lottery since the brand extension of 2002. Needless to say, 2005's Draft was much bigger than 2004's. In the end, a total of 21 superstars moved to new shows.

    Drafted To RAW

    John Cena (WWE Champion)

    Kurt Angle

    Carlito Carribean Cool

    Big Show

    Rob Van Dam

    Drafted To SmackDown!

    Chris Benoit

    Randy Orton

    Muhammad Hussan (w/Daivari)

    Christian

    Batista (World Heavyweight Champion)

The draft was not all that took place, however. Near the deadline to make roster changes for RAW and SmackDown!, GM's Eric Bischoff and Theodore Long made an 11-person blockbuster deal. It looked like this:

    Traded To RAW

    Chavo Guerrero

    Danny Basham

    Hiroko

    Kenzo Suzuki

    Mark Jindrak

    Rene Dupree

    Traded To SmackDown!

    Candice Michelle

    Steven Richards

    Simon Dean

    Sylvian Grenier

    William Regal

So after the trade was done, the WWE did something many times it has done in the past - roster cuts. Over 15 superstars were released in the past few days, with the list looking like this:

    Wrestlers Released:

    Joy Giovanni

    Kenzo Suzuki

    Matt Morgan

    Charlie Haas

    Jackie Gayda

    Marty Jannetty

    Dawn Marie

    Mark Jindrak

    Maven

    Shannon Moore

    James Yun (Akio)

    David Heath (Gangrel)

    Billy Kidman

    Spike Dudley

    Kevin Fertig (Mordecai)

    D-Von Dudley

    Bubba Ray Dudley

The next few wrestling events were close to top-notch, as no one wanted to be the next superstar cut from the WWE. I didn't have to worry about being cut, hopefully, because I controlled what went down on WWE programming from behind the scenes. A creative writer, of sorts. Giles Baker, a twentysomething hailing from England with dreams to be in the wrestling business. I guess those dreams were fufilled, for now...

The Great American Bash was only 16 days away, and I was to have a say in what some of the matches were. As SmackDown! had taken place yesterday, two matches for the former WCW classic were unveiled. Chris Benoit had defeated Booker T for the rights to challenge Orlando Jordan for the United States Championship, while Muhammad Hussan would be battling the Deadman, The Undertaker for Numero Uno Contendership of the World Heavyweight Championship.

  10. BREAKING NEWS STORY - APRIL 17TH, 2005

The WWE has released a group of superstars, after the lockerroom morale of some of the big names on RAW and SmackDown! was decreasing after receiving less air time in the past few weeks. But this isn't the only blockbuster. Also, you should expect the WWE to end it's contract with Spike TV for Velocity, as it seems that the more shows they have, the more of a negative effect it has on it's workers. Here is the list of superstars let go as of one hour ago.

    "Hiroko" Suzuki

    Kenzo Suzuki

    Mark Henry

    Tyson Tomko

    Viscera

The WWE has also given a minor demotion to two superstars, from the RAW brand. Chris Jericho and Randy Orton have been told they will be used in the main event very little, as things became a little too crowded. RAW wants to focus on four superstars, those being HHH, Batista, Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels, while SmackDown! will be based around Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Booker T, and Kurt Angle.

Chavo Guerrero and Paul London defeated Spike Dudley and Billy Kidman when Kidman missed the SSP on Chavo, allowing Paul London to sneak in a 450 Splash, getting the win for himself and Chavo. (70%, 61%, 80%)

A rather odd segment aired when Al Snow randomly appeared at ringside and conveniently met with Sarah Matravers, who is famous appearing on fashion shows and doing model work. (73%)

Al Snow gained one point of overness from this segment.

Rey Mysterio defeated Daniel Puder in a non-title match rather easily with the 619, but when Mysterio went to congratulate Puder on his efforts, he began to have a temper tantrum, reminding us all of Christian in early 2002. (73%, 69%, 77%)

Following the match, Carlito Carribean Cool entered the ring with Jesus, and delivered quite the verbal beating on Teddy Long, calling him a poor General Manager, and saying he was a poor decision maker. He ended his little interview by saying that Long will face consequences for his actions. (72%)

In the final match of the night, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Funaki defended successfully against Shannon Moore, winning with a Missile Dropkick from the top rope. After the match, the two shook hands to a minor pop from the crowd. (63%, 44%, 83%)

Before the show ended, Josh Matthews thanked us for watch, and told us not to order Backlash. Kinda odd, because as lame as it was, it might convince a few people not to.

    Velocity Preview For Tonight

Velocity promises the best it can deliver for tonight, a night that includes a Cruiserweight Title match when Funaki defends his gold against Shannon Moore! And in tag team action, Chavo Guerrero and Paul London will take on Billy Kidman and Spike Dudley! And don't miss all the recaps from Thursday's explosive SmackDown! that ended with JBL taking out his Chief Of Staff with a Clothesline From Hell! Velocity comes to you tonight at 10/9c, so make sure you tune in!

Hardcore Holly Injured At House Show

On Wednesday during a Providence house show, Hardcore Holly apparently broke his nose in a match with Daniel Puder, when he collided with the ring post on the outside. The injury is said to be minor, as Holly is expected to be only out of action for two weeks. This must be some retribution for workers like Rene Dupree and Charlie Haas, who have been injured in the past as a result of Holly's stiff work, some of which was done purposely.

    New Backlash Match Announced

Yesterday it was put up on the WWE Backlash site that Rosey and Hurricane will be trying their luck again, as they will face La Resistance for the Tag Team Titles. This match is said to serve only as a filler, so don't expect much out of it, and don't expect a title change, either.

Michael Cole: "Hello folks, welcome to WWE SmackDown!, I'm Michael Cole, and this is my broadcasting partner Tazz, and boy do we have quite the show in store. Tonight, John Bradshaw Layfield will be squaring off with John Cena in what will be a classic rematch for the WWE World Title."

Tazz: "Stop it Cole! You're getting me all excited. Tonight is almost one that is gonna be too hot to handle. I mean, besides the Main Event, you've got The Dudley Boyz taking on the Big Show in a 2 on 1 bout! And Booker T will be gunning for the United States Title when he takes on Rey Mysterio!"

Michael Cole: "Yeah, but right now Rene Dupree is gonna be taking on Scotty 2 Hotty!"

Rene Dupree vs. Scotty 2 Hotty

Scotty gets caught in a high back suplex right at the start, then he gets laid out with a big sidewalk slam. Dupree covers, but Scotty manages to get a shoulder up before the 3. Scotty gets dragged into the corner by Dupree, who stomps him a few times before letting him out. Rene tries to finish things off with the Dupree Bomb- but Scotty pulls out a facebuster to save himself! Dupree gets on one knee and shakes his head, dizzied by the impact, only to be taken down with a Shining Wizard by Scotty 2 Hotty! Scotty covers, knowing that it's over, and the crowd is right behind him. 1...2...Rene kicks out! Scotty looks at the ref in disbelief, declaring he had him down for three, but it was only a two. Scotty sets up for the Worm, but Dupree catches him before he can drop the elbow, lifting him over his shoulders. He lays Scotty in the dust with a Death Valley Driver, then does the French Tickler before picking up the victory.

    Winner: Rene Dupree

    (68%, 67%, 70%)

As Dupree marches off, the cameras go backstage to show an angry, and somewhat anxious Cabinet. Beside them is Josh Matthews, who seems to want to know their thoughts about tonight's match.

    The Cabinet Is Ready

Josh Matthews: "Um, JBL, sir, what is going through your mind right now, knowing you have a chance to regain the WWE Title later on tonight?"

JBL: "Are you an idiot? What in the hell do you think is going through my mind? I'm trying to think of where to hold my celebration ceremony after I beat that punk ass John Cena into the ground and win back what is rightfully mine.

Josh Matthews: "Well, if Cena beat you for the title, what makes you so sure you'll easily regain it, if I may ask."

JBL: "You are just that clueless, huh kid? I've got these three men behind me. Doug and Danny form the best damn tag team on this show, and Orlando is the finest Chief of Staff that you'd ever find. But that's apart from the importance. I am a wrestling GOD. You hear me? A GOD. I've beaten the likes of Eddie Guerrero, The Undertaker, Booker T, Kurt Angle and the Big Show. Not a damn man on SmackDown! has beaten me fair and square, which is why I don't have the WWE Championship, because that damn Cena kid cheated me out. But damnit, tonight I'll be the WWE Champion once again, and there ain't a damn thing anyone is gonna do about it."

The Cabinet members march off with JBL in lead, as Josh Matthews gives them a look of disgust.

    (69%)

Tazz: "Well it's always good to see some confidence!"

Michael Cole: "All I saw was shrewd cockiness. We'll be back in a few, and when we return we will see Booker T take on Rey Mysterio for the United States Championship!"

    WWE United States Championship

Booker T vs. Rey Mysterio ©

Booker T tries to pin Mysterio in the corner, but the small United States Champion slips out from under him and catches him in a Victory Roll pin that nearly ends the match. Booker recovers and backs into a corner as Rey hops back and forth, with the crowd already chanting his name. Booker charges at Rey with a stiff right shoulder, knocking the 5'6'' Mysterio down to the mat. Booker lands on Rey with a axehandle chop. Booker covers, but can't get more than a two count. Booker complains to Nick Patrick, the official in this match, but it does him no good. Booker shrugs it off, then brings Rey to his feet. He whips Rey to the ropes as if to set up for a clothesline, but instead he hits a massive Axe Kick that sends Rey tumbling to the outside! Booker follows as Rey holds his head in pain.

Once on the outside, Booker lands a few kicks to the midsection of Mysterio, backing him up into the corner of the security railing. Booker taunts the crowd now, claiming that he'll be winning the title tonight. Booker brings Mysterio to his feet and tries sending him into the ring post, but Rey reverses sending the former 5 time WCW Champion into the the metal, face first! Booker falls like a sack of potatoes, as Rey catches a breath. Rey finally regains his energy, and sends Booker back inside. Once both men are back on the inside, Rey works on Booker's arm that seemed to have been banged up when he collided with the ring post. Rey applies an armbar, and keeps it on tight, giving Booker a level of pain.

Rey soon lets go however, as the Bookman shows no signs of tapping out.

Both men return to their feet, as the match hits the eight minute mark. With the fans strongly behind him, Mysterio lunges at Booker T, but Booker catches him in a flapjack, sending Rey right into Nick Patrick! Rey dizzily gets back to his feet in confusion of what has taken place, but not for long as Booker plants Rey onto the canvas with the Book End! Things seem to be under Booker's control, until Eddie Guerrero slides in the ring behind him! The fans go crazy as Booker turns around and gets decked with a few rights and lefts from Guerrero! Eddie takes Booker down with a clothesline- then goes sky high and nails him with the Frog Splash! Eddie revives both Rey and the referee, and then takes off, allowing Rey to get the pinfall thanks to some help from Eddie Guerrero!

Winner, and still WWE United States Champion: Rey Mysterio

    (82%, 85%, 76%)

The United States Title has gained in image.

Michael Cole: "Eddie Guerrero just got his payback on Booker T!"

    Tazz: "And payback's a bitch."

    The Champ Is HERE!

While Rey Mysterio celebrates his title defense, cameras go elsewhere. The parking lot is shown, where a large black pickup arrives. Out steps John Cena, the WWE Champion! He smiles, then walks towards the arena as SmackDown! heads to a commercial!

    (86%)

    Charlie Haas vs. Nunzio

SmackDown! returns with Charlie Haas and Nunzio engaged in a tie-up at ring's center. Haas hits a Northern Lights Suplex following the tie up that lands in a pin, but Haas can only get a two. Nunzio fires back with a hurricane DDT, but he too can only get a two count. Little Guido, ahem, Nunzio makes an attempt to hit the Arriverderci, but Haas manages to block the attempt. Nunzio dodges clothesline, but he isn't able to dodge a wicked superkick from Haas, putting him parallel to the canvas. But Haas signals he isn't finished- yet. Instead of going for the pinfall, Haas locks on the Haas of Pain, forcing Nunzio to submit, giving Haas the win.

    Winner, via submission: Charlie Haas

    (70%, 50%, 91%)

Nunzio is losing overness because of his weak gimmick.

    That's Not Cool

Teddy Long, SmackDown's GM is shown backstage in his office, sorting out some papers. Before long, Carlito and Jesus march in, Carlito of course is halfway through an apple, while Jesus has a bunch of papers in his hand.

Carlito: "Theodore, I'm sure you remember Jesus, my bodyguard. Of course, he hasn't been around for a while because that John Cena punk took him out in Armageddon."

Long: "I remember Jesus alright, but what brings you two here?"

Carlito: "Jesus is ready to wrestle again, but he needs your reinstation signature."

Long: "Well let me tell you something playa! I just got off the phone with Jesus' doctor, and he said that Jesus is NOT ready to compete in the ring yet. Now I don't know what you two are trying to pull here, but I am not signing that paper, belie dat."

Carlito's face flushes as red as his apple, showing his discontent for the GM.

Carlito: "You know something, Teddy? I try, I really try with you, and you feed me dirt. That's not cool. You're gonna pay, you just watch."

Carlito and Jesus leave in an angry mood, as Teddy Long just laughs off Carlito's threat.

    (63%)

Jesus gained 3 points of overness from this segment. Theodore Long debuted his new gimmick (People's Boss), and it got a negative response.

Michael Cole: "Carlito isn't going to get his way by threatening, because I know that our GM isn't going to succumb to any threats by a degenerate like him."

Tazz: "I dunno Cole, if I were Long, I'd start taking things seriously."

Michael Cole: "We'll see how things turn out. Stay tuned folks, because we've got a handicap match up next, and soon, JBL will try to win back the WWE Title in his match with John Cena!"

    Handicap Match

Big Show vs. The Dudley Boyz

The 500 pound giant gets ready to take on the boys from Dudleyville, who come out without little brother Spike Dudley. The match will be a traditional 2 on 1 contest, with both Bubba Ray and D-Von in the ring at the same time. Right away, the Dudleyz try to clothesline the giant Big Show, but they get clotheslines instead. Show tosses Bubba to the outside and works on D-Von one on one. He nails D-Von with a big boot, then, using his brute strength, throws D-Von over the ropes military press style, causing him to crash right into Bubba. The Big Show does his classic taunt to the crowd, proving to the Dudley Boyz that he is one big obstacle.

Show continues to parade around in the ring, while the Dudley Boyz regroup on the outside. They slide in behind him, and take him out at the knees, sending him to the mat. As soon as he falls, each Dudley grabs a leg and applies a submission hold, bringing Big Show double the pain! He doesn't give up, though, he instead kicks both of the Dudleyz off of him with amazing power, and once again returns to his feet. Show straps a hand around D-Von's throat, ready to Choke Slam him into oblivion. Bubba tries to stop him, but Big Show puts his large right hand on Bubba, and then delivers a double Show Stopper! Show covers D-Von, but Bubba saves him in the nick of time.

Bubba continues his assault on the 7 foot monster, hitting him with jabs and kicks. D-Von recovers and joins the attack, as he assists his brother in hitting Show with a flapjack. Bubba pins Show, but it's not enough to put him down. Bubba decides that it's time to go oldschool, as he sends D-Von to the top rope. He props up Big Show's legs, and D-Von takes off, hitting the Wazzup! D-Von covers, but still, Show is able to kick out, with excessive force in fact. D-Von is sent flying after Show uses all his weight to push him off before the three. Show gets back to his feet, but the Dudleyz get right back on the offensive before he can do anything.

Show tries to fight the Dudleyz, but it's no use. He's whipped to the ropes, then planted with the 3D, and covered, 1-2-3, as the Dudleyz pick up a victory over the same man that injured them by sending them through a pile of tables in 2004.

    Winners: The Dudley Boyz

    (75%, 75%, 73%)

Michael Cole: "The Dudley Boyz are back Tazz, and boy, are they looking better than ever."

Tazz: "No one knows the Dudleyz like I do, and I know for sure they are back in fighting form."

Michael Cole: "It seems that way. But up next, is something certainly anyone won't want to miss. JBL takes on John Cena for the WWE Title, next!

The tale of the tape is shown, displaying information about JBL and Cena.

John Bradshaw Layfield vs. John Cena ©

JBL makes his way to the ring, with neither his Secretaries of Defense, the Bashams, or his Chief Of Staff, Orlando Jordan. John Cena appears on stage to a large ovation from the crowd, as he holds his WWE Title on his shoulder proudly. Cena starts off by taunting JBL, waving his hand in front of his face with the traditional "You Can't See Me" bit. JBL keeps an eye on Cena as he removes his hat and coat and gives them to referee Charles Robinson, who will be officiating the contest.

JBL and Cena get into a staredown, but things get underway after Cena hits JBL with a right hand, followed by some jabs to the midsection. Cena works JBL into the corner, and unleashes a flurry of punches. After the beating, Cena nails JBL with a bulldog, and makes a pin, but it's only worth two. After the pin try, Cena tries to flatline JBL with a DDT, but JBL spears him into the turnbuckle. Now in control, JBL smacks Cena around a bit, before nailing him with a underhook suplex for a close call. JBL gets in Cena's face and chokes him, yelling all sorts of degrading obscenity in his ear. JBL lets off of Cena before Robinson disqualifies him, however, leaving Cena gasping for air. The former WWE Champion of 9 months brings Cena to his feet, and hits a couple of stiff uppercuts. He goes for a third, but Cena blocks and begins chipping back at him!

Cena turns the tables with his offensive flareup, and before long he is able to hit the Throwback! Cena wants to cover, but the Basham Brothers come rushing down to the ring, with Doug and Danny jumping up on different aprons. But Cena spares no time in taking both them out, sending them to the outside! Cena returns to his opponent, but before he can even notice, JBL has him in a small package, tights and all! Robinson makes the count, not aware of JBL's doing! 1...2...Cena just BARELY kicks out! JBL can't believe it but he didn't get the job done, and complaining to the referee won't change anything. JBL covers Cena again, but he kicks out before Robinson can even get to two.

JBL gets up and stalks Cena, who slowly gets to his feet. Cena turns around, as JBL swings in full force, looking to put Cena out with the Clothesline From Hell, but he ducks, and hits a high knee to the face of JBL on the rebound! Cena riles up the fans, then plants the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Layfield! Cena drops on top of JBL, and hooks the leg, but the maneuver is not enough, as JBL kicks out. Cena experiences some disbelief of his own, as he is unsure of how JBL managed to find his way out of that one. JBL staggers to his feet, with a faraway look in his eyes. It seems that JBL may be not 100% in the match at this point. He charges at Cena sloppily, but Cena catches him and puts him on his shoulders! He gets ready to deliver the F-U, but the Bashams reappear on the apron! However, before Cena can get to them, the ref does, eliminating the authority present in the match.

Cena nails the F-U regardless, but as he turns to redirect the referee, Charles Robinson, his brains are redirected by a chair shot from Orlando Jordan! The fans shower Jordan with boos, but nothing can be done as the Chief Of Staff slides out of the ring while JBL slowly crawls over to Cena, and drapes his arm over him! Conviently enough, the Bashams drop from the apron, allowing Robinson to get back to the match.

Michael Cole: "No, it can't be! Not this way! Not this way!"

Tazz: "We're gonna have a new WWE Champion Cole!"

Robinson looks at mess, with JBL slumped over the unconscious Joh Cena, and the steel chair to the right of them. However, instead of making the count, he grabs a hold of JBL and brings him to his feet, and begins to question him about the chair! This brings in Orlando Jordan, who tries to explain the situation. But it's clear to referee Robinson what took place, so he throws the match out, declaring the KO'ed Cena the winner by disqualification!

Winner, via disqualification and still WWE Champion: John Cena

    (80%, 83%, 74%)

JBL is bewildered by the fact that he has failed to regain the WWE Championship, as Orlando Jordan tries to soothe him. But JBL doesn't take well to the efforts- as he puts his Chief of Staff into next week with the Clothesline From Hell! The Bashams enter the ring and try to restrain their distraught boss, but nothing can satisfy JBL, as he pushes them away and leaves the ring in anger.

Michael Cole: "Woah! JBL just laid out his Chief of Staff, and John Cena is still the WWE World Champion! JBL doesn't look sane right now, and Orlando Jordan doesn't seem to be in a healthy state either!"

JBL slowly makes his way up the entrance ramp in misery while the Bashams stare at eachother, wondering what the hell just happened, as SmackDown! fades to black...

WWE SmackDown! Preview for April 14th, 2005

Thursday will be a big night for SmackDown!, as one of the biggest rematches of all time will take place when John Bradshaw Layfield tries to get back his prized possession from John Cena- the WWE World Title. Cena defeated JBL at Wrestlemania 21 for the gold, and it was shown last week that JBL was out of his mind, as he crawled out of his limo and stumbled into the arena, clearly not happy about his title loss. JBL attacked Cena after his match with Orlando Jordan, but he was thwarted by Cena and tossed to the outside of the ring. This brought out SmackDown! GM Theodore Long, who announced the match that will take place tomorrow night. Only one man can walk out of Augusta the WWE World Champion, will it be the High-Roller from Texas, or will the doctor of Thuganomics retain his championship? If you intend to find out, catch SmackDown! at 7/6 c tomorrow night on UPN!

  15. At The Office....

I had booked six shows for the WWE already, and things were shaping up decently. SmackDown! had just finished it's taping, and people were congratulating me on my work. By now, I had begun to get the feel of the steering wheel of this wrestling giant. I got back tn my apartment and sipped back some champagne and went over the quick memos, mostly about SmackDown!. Some saying how so and so worked well together, others saying how these two didn't pair too well. I also got an odd request from Shawn Michaels on my answering machine, wondering if he could work with Randy Orton at some time. I assumed he meant AFTER his storyline with Benoit, but I still found it odd considering they had a major feud in late 2003. However, if he were the heel this time around, things may be different. I sighed it off for the time being, and went to bed, eagerly waiting for the next day to come....

Live from the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine

    Attendance: 8,798

JR: "Welcome folks to Monday Night RAW here live at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine! This is Jim Ross and I'm with Jerry "The King" Lawler tonight, and boy are we in for a wild night. We are still reeling from Wrestlemania 21, which was eight days ago, while in six days, we will be witnessing WWE Backlash, a RAW brand event! Two matches have been announced for Sunday, those both being for championship gold!"

King: "Triple H vs. Batista, and Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian in a LADDER match! I can't wait JR!"

JR: "I can't wait myself, King, but let's get on with the show! Tonight is certainly one with massive potential for a meltdown with some of the superstars we have under the same roof. In the main event, Chris Jericho, Batista and Randy Orton will be taking on Edge, Triple H and Brock Lesnar in a Six Man Tag Match!"

JR can speak no more before an unfamiliar theme shoots through the arena. Uncertainty in the crowd is replaced by jeering and boos as Brock Lesnar makes his way down to the ring with Paul Heyman! The pair gets in the ring and Lesnar smiles while Heyman pulls out a mic, handily stored in his pocket. It takes a few moments before he is able to speak through the "YOU SUCK" chants.

Heyman: "Why so angry? Times like this are about celebration. Why? The greatest combination of man and machine is once again. Brock knows, and I know, that this was only destined to happen, oh yes. I remember three years ago when Brock and I appeared on RAW and Brock tore into half of the lockerroom. But back then, Brock was an untamed monster. Over time, I tried to control his power, but I couldn't. So I lost faith. But over his time without me, Brock learned what I had sought to teach him on his own. He became the greatest force that the WWE had ever seen. So big, he expanded into the world of football. But wrestling is what Brock does best. The biggest duo in the wrestling world is alive and breathing, and ready to function. And Randy Orton? He was just in the right spot. He was the fuel that restarted Lesnar's engine. Brock's destiny is not to fool around with some 3rd generation punk, it's to regain the World Championship, the prize that he so deserves. Now-"

Before Heyman can get much further into his speech, Mercy Drive comes alive on the PA system as Randy Orton charges out with a mean look on his face, his eyes dead set on Brock Lesnar!

JR: "Mah gawd King, it's Orton! And he looks like he's ready to clean house!"

King: "Jeez, things are getting ugly pretty fast!"

Heyman scatters as Randy slides into the ring and gets it on with Brock Lesnar, nailing him with fierce rights and lefts. He whips Brock to the ropes, but he gets caught in a backdrop. Orton shoots up after the fall, but Lesnar catches him in an F5, giving Orton flashbacks of one week ago! Orton is taken down, and Lesnar laughs while Heyman grins on the outside. But, to great surprise, Orton seems to have felt nothing as his adrenaline pushes him back to his feet, his eyes still on Lesnar. Lesnar swings at him but misses, allowing Randy to hit the RKO! Orton slides to the outside as Heyman gets back in the ring while Brock slowly staggers to his feet, holding the back of his neck. Orton smirks and taunts the two, clearly showing that things are not done between Lesnar and Orton.

JR: "Good god almighty! That F5 didn't even affect Orton at all! It was like he absorbed it!"

King: "He certainly got one up on Brock there, but now he'll have to watch his back!"

JR: "I think he was just getting his slice of justice, King. Later tonight, these two men will clash in a Six Man Tag match that will surely knock your socks off!"

    World Tag Team Championship

Hurricane and Rosey vs. La Resistance ©

The big Rosey starts off with Rob Conway, overpowering him with his size. He hits a large Samoan Drop before the tag off to Hurricane, who literally comes flying in with a leg drop from the top! Hurricane chops away on Conway at the ropes, then sets him up for a backdrop but Conway is able to stop and give Hurricane a good kick to the jaw. Conway hits a side neckbreaker for two, then tags in Grenier. Grenier does a bit of a dance to the crowd, but it's nothing compared to the French Tickler of Rene Dupree. Grenier with a hard elbow drop, ref with a two. Grenier works on Hurricane's knee, using his own to bend it in a painful position. Hurricane holds on through the maneuver, and hits an Enziguri when he is back to his feet. Grenier is stunned by the sudden energy burst from Hurricane, allowing Hurricane to almost score a victory with a Sunset Flip pin. However, Grenier rolls out of it just in time. Hurricane puts Grenier in an octopus stretch, away from La Resistance's corner, putting Grenier at a great disadvantage. But not long into the submission, Conway comes rushing in and breaks up the hold, which in turn sends Rosey into the mayhem. Rosey flies at Conway with rights and lefts, using him as a human punching bag. Conway charges at him but only gets put out with a huge Spinebuster. Following the move, Rosey slips to the outside to grab a chair, while Grenier hits a low blow on Hurricane, which referee Chris Kay does not see. He gets Hurricane in a cradle pin, just as the ref returns to the legal action. He counts the three, as La Resistance steals a win away from the Heroic Duo yet again.

Winners, and still World Tag Team Champions: La Resistance

    (74%, 71%, 78%)

Rob Conway is losing overness because of his weak gimmick.

    JR: "Those bastards, cheating again."

King: "Yeah! Go back to Bizzaro Land!"

JR: "I wouldn't mind that. But right now, we'll head to a commercial break, and when we get back, we'll hear from the Heartbreak Kid himself."

RAW returns to a booing crowd, as an evidentally different Shawn Michaels dances down to the ring, yelling obscene things at the crowd. He rolls in the ring and poses, then gets a mic from Lillian Garcia.

HBK: "Boo? You're booing me? Well, I guess I should expect such. I mean we are in Maine, a whole state full of traitors wanting to be filthy Canadians. And everyone knows how the Canadians have hated me ever since 1997, something they'll get over when Hell freezes over. But maybe that's not the reason? Is it because I took Chris Benoit out with my Sweet Chin Music last week in our tag team match, and handed the victory to Edge and Christian? If so, too bad. I didn't care about losing, not if it meant I'd be able to embarass Chris Benoit in front of a live crowd. Cry all you want, nothing is going to change the fact that Benoit is only half the man I am."

As a result from HBK's little speech, Benoit comes out on stage, with a wad of papers and a microphone of his own!

Benoit: "Wait just a damn minute. If I didn't know any better Shawn, you've let your jealousy get to you. You can't accept the fact you aren't in the driver's seat on RAW anymore. If this is about embarrasing me, let's see you do it. Because I made you tap out last year at Backlash, and I'll do it again this year. So what do you say, Shawn? Me and you, man to man, face to face. Then we'll see who's better."

HBK: "Hmmmm, nah. That doesn't sound like a good idea to me Chris. You're not worth it. I could be challenging for the World Championship instead."

The fans boo Michaels rejection, but the mood changes when Benoit speaks again.

Benoit: "Well you AREN'T challenging for the World Championship, Shawn, because these papers legally bind you to a match with me, because they've been signed by Bischoff. So come Sunday, your ass is MINE."

Benoit throws the mic down and leaves to go backstage, having given HBK more than his wanted dose of Toothless Aggression!

    (83%)

JR: "Oh my gawd King! Benoit vs. HBK at Backlash! That will certainly be a match to remember!"

King: "Not if they have a Diva Swimsuit Competition!"

    William Regal vs. Val Venis

Venis is fired up early, hitting a few clotheslines on Regal and getting close calls each time. Venis hits a big backdrop, then locks Regal in a headlock all under 60 seconds. Regal is able to fight through the hold sooner than later, standing up while still in the hold, then bringing Venis down with chin breaker. Regal doesn't cover, instead he hits a standing leg drop, then covers, but it's not enough. Regal connects with a big European Uppercut, followed by a few high knees to the midsection. Regal follows up with the Underhook Powerbomb, then then locks on the Regal Stretch, forcing Venis to tap out, making this match a quickie.

    Winner: William Regal

Venis is able to make it to his feet on his own, and stops Regal before he leaves the ring. He offers him a handshake as a show of appreciation, and Regal accepts it. However, there is more to the good sportsmanship than Regal had bargained, as Venis takes him down with a brutal clothesline! Venis gives off a nasty laugh, then goes upstairs, and hits the Money Shot! The crowd boos at the sudden actions of Venis, as he spits on Regal and leaves!

    (70%, 65%, 75%)

Val Venis's turn was completed, and he is now a heel. Val Venis gained 4 points of overness from this turn. William Regal is losing overness because of his weak gimmick.

JR: "What in the hell was that for? Val just showed a large shift in attitude there!"

King: "Has he left the Adult Film Star Business for me to claim?"

JR: "I'm not sure King, but he sure doesn't look like the same old Val! Next up folks, Shelton Benjamin will be going head to head with Maven!"

    Shelton Benjamin vs. Maven

Upon RAW's return, Maven is making his entrance into the ring, waiting for his opponent, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin. Set for his match with Christian in six days, Benjamin charges his way down to the ring and gets face-to-face with Maven, before engaging in a tie-up at ring center. Shelton shows shades of Kurt Angle with a belly-to-belly suplex, then a big DDT for a two count. Maven reverses a Irish Whip following the pin attempt, leading to a backdrop on Shelton. Maven applies a surf board submission on Benjamin, trying to get the former Intercontinental Champ to tap out. Benjamin refuses, and soon uses his weight to roll on his side and get his head on the ropes, something unorthodox but just as legal as an arm or leg. Maven hits a Halo DDT, trying to finish things, but Benjamin is able to get a shoulder up. Benjamin hits a T-Bone Suplex after the move, but is unable to cover. Official Chad Patton starts the ten count, as both Maven and Benjamin are motionless. 1...2...3...4...5...6...Maven dizzily gets back to his feet, as Benjamin is able to get to his knees, so the count stops.

Maven hits a wicked spinning heel kick as Benjamin stands up and makes the cover, but to no avail. Maven goes for a DDT, but Benjamin pushes out and whips Maven into the corner. Shelton attempts a flying clothesline in the corner, but in desperation, Maven grabs the referee, causing contact between Chad Patton and Benjamin's forearm! Patton falls lifelessly to the ground as Benjamin realizes the horror of his error. He tries to plaster Maven with a superkick, but he ducks and hits a neckbreaker. As Patton stays on the mat, the Intercontinental Champion, Christian runs down to the ring and slides in, belt in hand! Maven grabs a hold of Benjamin as Christian takes a swing; only to have Benjamin drop down and hit the family jewels as Christian inadvertantly clocks Maven with the gold! Benjamin grabs the weakened Christian and tosses him over the ropes, along with his title, and covers Maven just as Patton comes around to count the three!

    Winner: Shelton Benjamin

    (69%, 70%, 67%)

JR: "That's how Shelton will have to battle; fighting fire with fire! It worked tonight, and if he wants his title back, we will surely see some heated action at Backlash!"

King: "Captain Charisma's fourth title run as Intercontinental Champ is in danger come Sunday, I'll admit that!"

JR: "We'll be back in a few folks, so don't go anywhere!"

RAW comes back with an empty ring and a silent arena, but not for long. Soon enough, RAW's General Manager, Eric Bischoff comes out to take care of some business. Through the booing, Bischoff addresses the issues at hand.

Bischoff: "It seems as if there is a problem I have to deal with with Backlash just six days away. Let's get to the situation between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton. Last week, Brock appeared on RAW and visciously attacked Randy Orton, adding to the concussion problem he has battling with for over four months. As a result of his actions, I will not be punishing him. Instead, I will be rewarding Randy Orton by granting his request. That request, is to face Brock Lesnar at Backlash! So this Sunday, 'The Next Big Thing' will take on the 'Legend Killer', may the best man beat the living hell out of the other."

    (85%)

JR: "Oh my lord! Lesnar and Orton getting it on at Backlash? Things are getting wild around here!"

    King: "I'd say so!"

As Bischoff exits, Simon Dean makes his entrance, with his Simon System package in his arm. After a few warmup routines, he gets in the ring to talk trash about the Portland.

Simon Dean: "Look at this! Look at all you fatties! I'm not even going to try to help any of you in the crowd, you are beyond help. I'm out here tonight to offer a supplement of my new Simon System Power Pills to a superstar in the back! All it takes is two a day and the flab will go away after six weeks! For a six week order, the total cost is $120.99, of course there are shipping fees and taxes. These babies put Stacker2 to shame! So one of you flub-a-lubs come on out and try my new Power Pills!"

    Ohhhhhh yeah!

The crowd erupts as Matt Hardy comes out on stage, posing for the fans, coming back from an injury that sidelined him for 7 months. He takes off his shirt, then runs down to the ring to confront Simon Dean!

    Matt Hardy vs. Simon Dean

A match begins between the two as Jack Doan comes down to the ring, as Hardy rips into Dean with stiff knife-edge chops and kicks. Hardy hits a neckbreaker, followed by his famous Yodel Legdrop, nearly getting the full 3. Hardy doesn't stop with his quick paced attack, hitting a reverse DDT and a Side Effect for another close call. But the end comes soon enough, after Dean makes an attempt to hit a Brainbuster, Hardy reverses and hits the Twist Of Fate to win in his electrifying return to the WWE! For a three minute contest, the match was an amazing one.

    Winner: Matt Hardy

    (84%, 71%, 98%)

JR: "Matt Hardy is back! He's back and ready to go! But up next, is the main event! Batista, Randy Orton, and Chris Jericho vs. Triple H, Brock Lesnar and Edge!"

    King: "Woooo!"

JR: "And, I've just got word that at Backlash, Edge will be taking on Chris Jericho! Next folks, it's Six Man Tag Match!

Batista, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho vs. Triple H, Brock Lesnar and Edge

The match with huge implications begins with Jericho and Triple H, with Jericho teasing the Game with a few slaps. HHH tries to flatten him with a clothesline, but Jericho ducks and hits a mule kick for a two count. Jericho tags in Orton, who gets a loud pop from the crowd. Orton brings HHH to his feet and lays into him with a few chops, then hits a suplex easily, as it seems HHH has been worn in very easily. Orton whips him to his corner by Lesnar and Edge, and tells Brock to tag himself in. Brock laughs and shakes his head, as Edge takes up the opportunity and charges at Orton with a shoulder block. Edge tries to get Orton in the Edgecator, but he quickly grabs hold of the ropes before Edge can put on any pressure. Edge tries to weaken Orton with hard rights to his tender head, but Orton pushes him away and hops to his feet. Orton nails Edge with a huge clothesline, followed by a knee to the face from the standing position. Orton tags in the World Champion, Batista, who gets a large cheer upon his entrance into the ring.

Edge is manhandled by Batista for a while, getting thrown from corner to corner and getting the snot beaten out of him in every one. Batista sets up for a Pumphandle Slam, but Edge backs out and uses his dirty tactics by hitting Batista in the back of the leg, dropping him to the ground. He tags Triple H back in, who works on the somewhat injured right leg of Batista. Hunter smashes his knee against the mat, then spears him into the corner after he is on his feet, followed by a sharp elbow right into the Animal's face. Hunter mounts the second rope and begins to pound away on Batista, but Batista suddenly powers out and plants him in the center of the ring with the Batista Bomb! Batista and HHH lie on the mat in as Earl Hebner begins a ten count, but it's not long after both men reach their respected corners and make tags; Batista to Orton and HHH to Lesnar!

Orton and Lesnar get in the ring and have a staredown, then go at it like a couple of wolves! They each hit eachother with all their strength, sending one another back and forth with each hit. Lesnar eventually stops the game of Ping-Pong by hitting a giant Powerslam on Orton, almost snapping him in two! Lesnar makes a go for the F5, but Orton slips out and pushes him away then rolls him up in a School Boy Pin, but Lesnar kicks just in time. Dizzy from the sudden pin attempt, Lesnar gets up and shakes his head, while Orton waits behind him for his chance to nail the RKO! Lesnar spins around, and Orton tries it, but Lesnar blocks and hits a huge DDT. Lesnar makes a cover attempt, but he is stopped by Jericho! Chaos is born as all six men spill into the ring as a wild brawl begins to take form. Batista brawls with his Sunday opponent, while Jericho gets it on with Lesnar! Meanwhile, Edge and Orton duke it out in the center of the madness.

Both sets of illegal men take their brawls to the outside while Edge and Orton continue their match on the inside. Edge props Orton on the top rope, aiming for a Superplex, but Orton shoves him down, then hits an amazing Shooting Star Press! The fans begin to wildly chant Orton's name, as he readies Edge for the RKO. But unknown to Orton, HHH is behind him! He spins Orton around and boots him in the gut, and lays him out with the Pedigree! But then, Jericho comes in and levels HHH with an Enziguri, followed by a Lionsault! As he gets to his feet, Brock re-enters the ring and devastates Jericho with a clothesline over the top rope. Just as it looks to be 2-on-1, Batista rushes and hits a double clothesline on Brock and Edge, as Orton lay on the mat still out from the Pedigree! Batista takes care of Lesnar by taking himself and Lesnar to the outside with another clothesline. However, Edge struggles over to Orton and makes the cover, 1...2...Orton shoots a shoulder up! Edge can't believe that Orton is still in the game, as he begins to rage at the ref like a mad pitbull!

As Orton looks to find support from the turnbuckle, Edge is on the other end waiting to break him in half with the Spear. Orton is up- Edge charges, but Orton sidesteps him, sending him into the steel post! Edge backs up in pain, but that just makes things worse as Orton finally seals the deal with the RKO! He drapes a tired arm over Edge, and Hebner counts it, 1...2...3!

Winners: Batista, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho

    (74%, 78%, 66%)

JR: "Orton did it! Orton did it! Mah gawd! Orton's team wins the match!"

King: "I wanted Edge to win! Poor Edge."

  17. The WWE HotLine (Sunday, April 10th, 2005) (From www.sickbump.com)

    WWE Scouts The Indies

In the past years, the WWE, mainly Vince has claimed to have no acknowledgement of the other federations that have grown strong fan bases since 2002, such as Ring of Honor or NWA:TNA. But as of late, word is that the WWE have been sending people to independent shows, mainly ones that showcase the likes of CM Punk, Chris Hero, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and others. It seems as if the WWE wants to know how these feds grab their fans attention so quickly and keep it for so long, and perhaps to sign a few indy workers to OVW deals or ones that would put them straight on TV.

    Playboy, Trish Stratus Sign Deal

Yes, the rumours are true. Trish Stratus, the blonde bombshell of 28 will be appearing in July's edition of Playboy. It's been a long time coming to many, but Trish feels that she is ready to pose nude in the magazine after Sable, Torrie, Chyna and Christy's careers benefited so well from doing the same. But unfortunately for you at home, lotion will not be included with the magazine.

Jericho DVD On It's Way/Velocity Rating

After Benoit, Flair, Foley, Guerrero and RVD, many fans were wondering which superstar would be getting a full-feature DVD of their own showcasing their career and some of their best matches. Well, it has been revealed that Jericho's will be next, due out sometime in August. It is said it will be a two set DVD, and will feature some of Jericho's best matches from ECW, WCW and the WWE.

Velocity got a 4.18 rating last night, which is a great jump from the low ratings it was receiving in February and March. Many think that Wrestlemania 21's impact is going to have good effects on the WWE, and that 2005 looks like a shining year for World Wrestling Entertainment.

  18. WWE RAW Preview!

Wrestlemania might have eminated just a week ago, but Backlash is right around the corner, one week from tonight! At the PPV that will be fresh with Wrestlemania prints all over it, two matches have been confirmed. First off, Shelton Benjamin will seek to regain his WWE Intercontinental Championship from Christian in an explosive Ladder Match. But, the biggest news is definitely that after RAW went off the air last week, RAW GM Eric Bischoff announced Triple H will be squaring off with Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship! Triple H will be looking to regain what means so much to him, while the Animal Batista will be up for his first title defense. And what about Shawn Michaels? He surely has what's coming to him after his crude betrayal of Chris Benoit last week!

But enough of Backlash. RAW has some exciting mat action you surely won't want to miss. To kick things off, La Resistance will be defending their World Tag Team Championships against the dynamic duo of The Hurricane and Rosey, who have been in the title hunt for some time now. Meanwhile, Val Venis will go toe-to-toe with none other than William Regal in singles competition. But, scheduled for the main event, is a match that will blow the roof off of the arena in Phoenix. In a six man tag match, Batista, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho will square off with Edge, Brock Lesnar and Triple H! Lesnar's fresh return to the WWE has people unsure where his allegiance lies, but things are certain he is no friend of Randy Orton, as shown last week when Brock Lesnar took it to Randy Orton with a gruesome F-5, costing him a match with Triple H. With just a week to go till Backlash, RAW is ready to bring it to you live, from the Glendale Arena in Pheonix, Arizona!

    Attendance: 13,953

Coach: "Hello fans, you are now kicking it with the Coach and Todd Grisham, on Sunday Night Heat! We have some hard mat action for tonight, including an Intercontinental Championship bout!"

Grisham: "That is for sure Coach. But first up, we have Maven squaring off with the Hurricane's sidekick, Rosey!"

    Maven vs. Rosey

Rosey uses his size to overpower Rosey in the early going, sticking him in the corner and hitting numerous chops across the chest. Rosey takes Maven down with a bulldog, and covers him, but he can only get a count of two. Rosey tries to hit a legdrop, but Maven rolls out of the way, resulting with Rosey hitting the canvas. Maven hops on top of the match by quickly applying a headlock on the big Samoan, dead center of the ring. Rosey tries to fight it, but Maven keeps the hold on hard. Maven yells at Rosey to give up, but he just shakes his head and continues to fight through the pressure. After some time elapses, Rosey is finally able to break free from Maven's grasp after a few shots to the head. Rosey bolts to his feet as Maven backs away, but Rosey turns around and flattens him with a huge clothesline. Maven stumbles back to his feet and charges at Rosey, but gets leveled with a Samoan Drop! Rosey hooks the leg, but is only able to get a two count once again. In disappointment, Rosey gets back to his feet and brings Maven with him. Rosey works Maven into the corner, then goes for the Irish Whip to the other side, but Maven reverses, sending the big man flying. Maven follows up behind Rosey, and grabs him as he falls, slipping him into a School Boy pin! Maven uses some unfair insurance by putting his feet on the ropes, snatching a victory away from Rosey!

    Winner: Maven

    (66%, 67%, 64%)

As soon as Maven gets to his feet, he wastes no time getting away from Rosey as he knows that Rosey is aware of his foul actions.

Coach: "Looks like Maven 'slipped' away with that one, eh Todd?"

Grisham: "Yeah, in a very unfair way."

While Rosey clears the ring, the TitanTron starts up, displaying Captain Charisma and Chris Leary.

Chris Leary: "Uhm, Christian? What are your thoughts on your match tonight with Val Venis for your Intercontinental Championship?"

Christian: "I'll make it simple and sweet for you Chris. Tonight, I'm going to go out there, and make Val Venis feel the essence of Charisma. I'm going to beat that washed up Pornstar, 1-2-3, just for all my peeps to see."

Chris Leary: "Good luck with your match tonight, Christian."

Christian: "That's Captain Charisma to you, buddy."

Christian waltzes off in pride, seemingly ready to defend his Intercontinental Championship tonight.

Steven Richards and Victoria vs. Simon Dean and Trish Stratus

Victoria jumps in the ring first, but on the other side, Trish lets Simon Dean go in first, making the match Male vs. Female at the moment. Dean tries a quick clothesline, but Victoria is able to sidestep the charge and then bring Dean down with a quick drop toe hold. Victoria makes a tag to Richards, evening things up. Richards hits a suplex followed by a two count, then a standing elbow drop for another count. Richards attempts an Irish Whip, but he's reversed, sending him into the corner of Trish and Simon. Trish grabs a hold of Richards, allowing Dean to beat away on Stevie Night Heat. Trish tags in, willing to take the challenge of facing a male competitor. Trish hits an impressive Chick Kick on Richards, and goes for the cover, but it is broken up by Victoria. After the break, Trish tries to hit a DDT, but Steven breaks limits by hiting a sidewalk slam on the diva! Richards rushes to the corner and tags Victoria, and for the first time in the match, the two competitors in the ring are of the same sex. Victoria uses a headlock on Trish, followed by a bulldog and a pin count. Only two, the match continues. At this point, Dean distracts the referee complaining about his leg, allow Trish to rake the eyes of Victoria! Stevie notices the unfair advantage, so he rushes in to save the day, by taking out Dean with the Stevie Kick! With the distraction gone, Victoria hops back on top of the match and hits the Widow's Peak! Victoria hooks the leg, and gets the win for her team!

    Winners: Steven Richards and Victoria

    (70%, 71%, 69%)

While Victoria and Steven Richards have won the match, Trish doesn't seem to be done with her opponent. As Richards battles Dean, Trish hits the Stratusfaction on an unsuspecting Victora, laying her out flat! Trish smirks, then leaves the ring, having left Victoria in a broken heap.

Coach: "Ouch, looks like Victoria just got stung on that one. Tough luck. But you don't cross Trish, or you get what's coming to you."

Things cut to the parking lot, where the Japanese Buzzsaw makes his way to the backstage area to warm up for his match with Viscera, which is up next!

    (65%)

    Tajiri vs. Viscera

Heat returns with Viscera already in the ring, taunting to the crowd with demonic poses. Saving the crowd from disgust, however, is Tajiri, who quickly makes his way out to the ring. He eyes up his opponent, ready to take on the 480 pound monster. The match seems to be in favour of Viscera in the beginning, as he hits a gigantic scoop slam, followed by a pendulum backbreaker for a close count. Things quickly change though, as Viscera attemps to hit a powerbomb, but he gets sprayed with the green mist! Tajiri drops off of Viscera to safety, as Viscera drops to his knees, setting himself up for a lethal Buzzsaw Kick by Tajiri! Tajiri quickly covers the gothic goul, and gets the "upset" win.

    Winner: Tajiri

    (59%, 55%, 63%)

Orton goes over to the ropes and starts yelling at Heyman, but Hebner tells him to focus on the match, and Orton reluctantly complies. But Orton turns around and gets a boot to the face, not by HHH, but by Brock Lesnar! Lesnar smiles maniacally, then puts Orton on his shoulders, then spins him around for the F-5!

JR: "Oh mah gawd! It's Brock Lesnar! He's back King, and he's with Heyman! What in the hell! He just F-5'ed Orton to hell!"

King: "This is insane! Brock is back in the WWE? I can't believe it!"

Kidman slips on a leglock in the center of the ring, but Nunzio reverses it quickly, becoming the opressor in the submission hold. Kidman comes close to tapping, but gets to the ropes before giving in. Nunzio goes to work on Kidman's knee in the corner, as it has become hurt from the leglock. Kidman gets backed up into the corner, as Nunzio stomps away some more on his weak knee. Then, showing shades of X-Pac, Nunzio hits Kidman with the Bronco Buster! Nunzio backs off, as Kidman gets to his feet. Kidman hits a dropkick from the corner, and goes for the cover. 1...2...close, but not enough for the victory. Instead, he extends a hand, offering his honor to Kidman. Kidman spits at the notion, and gives Nunzio a low blow again! Nunzio drops to his knees, while Billy Kidman smirks and leaves the ring.

Matthews: "What unsportsmanlike actions right there! Kidman should be punished for the things he does sometimes."

Romero: "I agree Josh. Billy needs to act his age."

Meanwhile, a hype video hits the screen, previewing JBL vs. John Cena. It airs some clips, ranging from Wrestlemania 21 to SmackDown! two days ago.

...JBL goes for the Clothesline From Hell on Cena, but he ducks and waves in front of him, then hits him with the Platinum Knucks! Cena tosses the Knucks away, then drops the F-U on JBL! The ref comes around, and Cena covers. Slowly but surely, the ref makes the count, 1...2...3, as John Cena becomes the new WWE Champion! JBL's reign is over!

Michael Cole: "It's JBL! What in the hell is he doing?"

Tazz: "He looks to be out for Cena!"

Theodore Long: "Next week, I'm booking a rematch for the WWE Title. AND if either you, Orlando Jordan, or the Bashams interfere in the match, you will all be suspended. So JBL, John Cena, next Thursday, the best man, will win."

He has done some work in Stampede Wrestling in the past, and other small-time feds. His gimmick as of recent has been one of an Anti-American one, so it may be obvious where Hanish is headed.

Chris Nowinski To Return Next Month?

As of late, Chris Nowinski has been getting in the ring to practice his in-ring ability, possibly aiming for a comeback within the next little while.
