  3. I know exactly why he had the guns;

    1. He's a known Cocaine dealer in Atlanta/South Florida where he has ties to Cash Money Milionairs and Rick Ross.

    2. He wants to murder Lil Flip and has admitted it several times including in his song '99 Problems.'

Take ten of these and live, that'll impress me

Say I wanna rap on your songs but you aint let me

See you on the front of The Source, like that upset me

Fuck you in the ass, I aint mad 'bout shit

Try Tip, shot quick, that's all your ass gon' get

And I aint finna put a mass on Flip

Imma empty out the clip and your ass gon' flip

Bet your mom and your dad gon' trip

But them the consequences tryna mash on Tip

    Nigga, lyrically I'll murk you

    Physically I'll hurt you

You ain't never ran the streets, you had a curfew

Pussy nigga playin' with me, you'll be in the dirt soon

So, I guess that is probably why he has weapons of that nature.

    :P

Did I say I'm actually a big fan of TI by the way?

  4. Rapper T.I. will face a federal judge this afternoon (October 15) after being arrested over the weekend on felony weapons charges.

T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., will appear before US Magistrate Judge Alan J. Baverman at the United States Courthouse in Atlanta later today.

Prosecutors will charge the rapper with possession of unregistered machine guns and possession of firearms by a convicted felon, after a federal investigation revealed the rapper was allegedly trying to purchase machine guns in Atlanta.

According to documents released by the ATF, the investigation started 11-days ago, when the rapper's bodyguard asked a licensed gun dealer at The Gun Store about buying a machine gun and not registering it, as required by law.

On October 2, the dealer reported the incident to the ATF who started an investigation and provided a fictitious cellphone number to an undercover agent posing as a machine gun dealer.

Eight days later on October 10, Harris called the bodyguard to pick up $12,000 in cash to buy the weapons. The bodyguard met the undercover agent at a K-Mart in Doraville.

T.I.'s bodyguard then gave the agent $2,200 and a .223-caliber pistol in exchange for three 9mm machine guns and two 9mm silencers.

Federal agents then arrested the bodyguard, who revealed he was buying the guns for T.I. and that he had purchased almost 25 firearms over the past 18 months for the rapper, who is a convicted felon and legally barred from owning firearms.

In one incident in September, the bodyguard claims that the rapper gave him cash to purchase a Calico 9mm from The Gun Store.

After legally purchasing the weapon, T.I. allegedly invited the bodyguard into his bedroom, where the rapper showed the man a walk in safe with a finger-print scanner, tall enough for a person to enter.

Inside of the safe were a number of assault rifles in black duffle bags.

In another incident in September, T.I. asked the bodyguard to purchase a .500 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, which was allegedly given to Grand Hustle rapper Alfamega, who then delivered the weapon to T.I.

The next day, on October 11, the cooperating bodyguard called another bodyguard working for T.I. to discuss security services while agents were listening.

During the conversation, T.I. grabbed the phone and the bodyguard allegedly told the rapper he had "everything for you [referring to T.I.]"

On October 12, Harris called the cooperating bodyguard while federal agents listened and arranged to pick up the guns the next day.

On October 13, around 1:00 PM, T.I. called the bodyguard and asked him to bring the guns to a recording studio.

At the behest of ATF agents, the bodyguard arranged to meet in the shopping center parking lot in Atlanta.

The rapper arrived at the parking lot and the bodyguard, who was wired, entered T.I.'s vehicle.

The bodyguard asked the function of a silencer to which T.I. replied "No Flash, no bang."

T.I. then asked the bodyguard what the "E" meant on one of the machine guns.

The bodyguard explained that the "E" meant semi-automatic mode, while the "F" meant fully automatic function, which T.I. Allegedly acknowledged.

The rapper inquired about ammunition, the capacity of the magazines and any change that might be left over from the purchase.

Federal agents then arrested T.I. without incident, recovering three firearms, including one between the drivers seat the center console.

T.I.'s girlfriend Tameka "Tiny" Cottle and Grandhustle rappers Mac Boney and Young Dro were also arrested.

While Mac Boney and Young Dro were not charged with any crimes and released, Cottle, who was a member of the all-girl band Xscape, was charged with possession of marijuana and the drug Ecstasy.

A subsequent search of T.I.'s home recovered three rifles, two pistols and a revolver in the walk-in closet and safe in his bedroom.

Five of the firearms were loaded.

T.I. was held in federal custody over the weekend on two felony charges: possession of unregistered machine guns and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

"There are two sides to every story," T.I.'s lawyer Dwight Thomas told CNN. "I've seen copies of the documents as a result of the search, but I have not seen any evidence yet, in terms of any physical evidence."

Thomas also revealed to CNN that he was not aware of T.I.'s past criminal record as a convicted felon.

"The are two sides to every story, sometimes three." Thomas said. "As you know we aren't going to try the case in the press. Whatever his stance is will come out in the court of law, we won't try it in the media."

  5. Also, I'm a huge fan of the Three Stooges. They don't fall under the sitcom umbrella as they were 20 minute shorts, but christ were they funny. It depends on if you enjoy that kind of slapstick humor, or some of the ridiculous premises for episodes that the writers came up with (Three bumbling doctors? Three bumbling plumbers? Three down on their luck guys posing as little kids? What the fuck?). But yeah, I was, and always will be a huge fan of the Stooges.
  6. I thought it was really good actually. Some really solid tracks including "The People", "Start The Show", "Drivin' Me Wild", "Misunderstood", and "The Game". I think it's one of the best hip hop albums I've heard this year.

Cosigned. Seriously, this is far from being a boring album musically or lyrically or in any way, shape or form.

  7. and a little quote from Em about Andre being on a list like this...

‘Cuz I’m at the end of my wits with half that gets in.

I got a list, here’s the order of my list that it’s in.

It goes Reggie, Jay Z, Tupac and Biggie

Andre from OutKast, Jada, Kurrupt, Nas and then me.

But in this industry I’m the cause of a lotta envy.

    Who's Reggie by the way?

  8. From MTV.com:

Lil Wayne has distanced himself from his peer group simply by embracing his love for rap with open arms — much like the way the lovably rotund Mabel Thomas used to lovingly squeeze her son Roger on "What's Happening!!" Last year MTV News unofficially stamped Weezy F. Baby as the hottest MC on the planet, but now we've pulled out all the bells and whistles! We had to: When the MTV News hip-hop brain trust started coming up with this competition, Wayne was #1 on just about everyone's list. He's undeniable to us, the fans and the rest of the rappers out there.

His volume of recent work has kept us on our toes. You never know if he's going to drop an official record or just throw some heat out to the streets for free, just because. Although he hasn't dropped a solo LP in two years, he put out the duet LP with his dad, Baby a.k.a Birdman, Like Father, Like Son, in October and still records practically every day, whether for his own projects or the many dozens of guest-appearance requests he tries to fulfill.

But we're not applauding the 24-year-old MC just for having created the largest body of work of any of his peers in the past year — it's the overwhelming quality of that quantity. The New Orleans native rarely turns down requests for cameos, so in the last year alone we've heard him with a mind-boggling array of performers, from Robin Thicke, Mya, Enrique Iglesias and Gym Class Heroes all the way to the heart of 'hood with Rick Ross, Ja Rule, Young Jeezy and even the Shop Boyz.

With all the verse-hustling he does, you'd think Wayne would be in danger of burning out, but as he told us himself, you don't have to worry about that if everything you put out is hot — and sounds totally different. Weezy's microphone assaults have been as diverse in attack formation as they have been lyrically striking. His flows have come in the form of everything from spoken-word street poetry ("Dying"), a reggae chat mixed with French patois (Swizz Beatz's "It's Me B----es" remix) or even halfway singing (his "Sky's the Limit" freestyle). Meanwhile, Wayne has been at his lyrical zenith with superlative wordplay that hearkens back to the days when fly MCs like Redman and Grand Puba were in abundance and metaphors used to fly on wax with regularity ("sticking to the script like java"). His lyrics include keep-you-on-your-toes subject matter that ranges from the effects of intoxication to sexually unabashed groupies; from kissing Baby to President Bush being America's #1 villain.

    Co-Signer: Kanye West

"Everybody is going to start with Lil Wayne. When I heard there was a [hottest MCs] list, I said, 'You going to start with Wayne then work your way down.' He delivers so many verses. The amount of work he puts in! I sat with Wayne working on his album and was like, 'Do you go on vacations?' He said, 'Nah, this is what I do. I dedicate my life to this ... I think a lot of people don't take being a pop star or rap star serious enough. Because it could be easy, you do a couple of records then you chill out. Nah, let's not chill. Let's do what we can to make sure this art is alive and take advantage of the moment.' "

    Blistering Ballistics

"I am the beast/ Feed me rappers or feed me beats/ I'm untamed, I need a leash/ I'm insane, I need a shrink/ I love brain, I need a leech/ Why complain on easy street?/ I don't even talk, I let the Visa speak/ And I like my Sprite Easter pink" ("We Takin' Over")

  9. The top ten best MC's in Rap right now, according to the MTV staff are:

    10. Jim Jones

    9. Common

    8. 50 Cent

    7. Jay-Z

    6. Young Jeezy

    5. Kanye West

    4. Andre 3000

    3. The Game

    2. T.I.

    1. Lil' Wayne

-They judged the list on different things like album sales, style, swagger, lyrical skills, etc.

-Jim Jones beat out Nas for the 10 spot

-Despite not putting out an album of his own and focusing more on his projects outside of Rap, MTV said Andre 3000 get's on the list from all the guest spots and remixes he's done lately. They said "he unquestionably murders every track he's been on"

-Jeezy is apparently the new Tupac and/or DMX

-Lil' Wayne, despite not moving any big number of units, is on top because he's lyrically better than anyone else out right now, according to MTV. His new mixtape is "a masterpiece"

-Some of the staff tried getting Kanye moved ahead of Andre, but the majority won in favor of Andre

-Some of the staff also tried to get The Game moved out of the top five, but again, majority won.

-50 Cent barely made the countdown they said, his new single "I Get Money" got him on

    That's all I remember. Thoughts?

  10. Update:

Jay-Z disappointed millions, when a scheduled interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez was cancelled for personal reasons yesterday (July 27).

The interview was to address a number of matters surrounding the mogul, including recent rumors of his departure from Def Jam.

The rapper and Martinez did get on the phone for a few moments to reschedule and answer a few questions.

After Martinez queried him, Jay-Z said that he'd be at his Def Jam post next week, sidestepping the notion that he was exiting his presidential position at the label.

"If they don't kick me out the building [i will be there next week]," Jay-Z said to Angie Martinez.

She also asked him if he was planning the rumored move to Columbia.

"I'm always looking at the next move," he said and stated that he liked his job at the label.

Additionally, Jay-Z shunned the gossip that he was close to leaving Def Jam.

"I'm nowhere near that. That's the papers, they are ahead of me," he quipped about rumors of his departure.

The interview was rescheduled for Friday August 3 on Hot 97.

  11. Rapper Jay-Z is in negotiations to vacate his President position at Def Jam, in order to join Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin at Columbia.

Rubin left Warner Music Group in May for an executive position working alongside Chairman Steve Barnett.

Rubin, who founded Def Jam in 1982 and later partnered with Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons in a New York University dorm room to launch one of the most influential record labels in history, is forming a super group of A&R's and executives.

According to The New York Daily News, Jay-Z may leave Def Jam to join the team.

One of the reasons for the defection is reportedly the February creation of Island Records Urban Music Group, which is run by Atlanta mogul Jermaine Dupri.

Jay-Z's girlfriend Beyonce is also an artist on the Columbia imprint, while Jay-Z and Rubin have collaborated successfully in the past, as Rubin produced Jay-Z's hit single "99 Problems" from his 2003 release The Black Album.

According to The New York Daily News, Jay-Z will also be leaving Island Def Jam owning his entire catalog.

Other reports have surfaced that Jay-Z and Beyonce are in negotiations with Apple's iTunes to create a digital record label.

Currently, Jay-Z is experiencing unprecedented success with 19-year-old Rhianna, an artist he signed to Def Jam and has championed since 2004.

Rhianna's single "Umbrella" featuring Jay-Z is the longest running UK number one single in a decade, since Wet Wet Wet topped the charts with their 1994 hit "Love Is All Around."

  12. I'm really in the mood to listen to angry, hate, aggressive rap music, something along the lines of DMX or something like that, but I can't think of any modern rap music that fits the bill. It's like come the turn of the century everyone would rather sing about parties, girls and who's cooler than who, rather than "fuck you I'll kick your ass". Any suggestions on modern day rap that fits this bill? Thinking in the last five years or so.
  13. Hell must be frezzing over the Knicks were able to trade Francis ugly contract and actually get a good player if he doesnt have off court issues in Randolph.

    Pretty sure the trade was:

Knicks get Randolph, Dickau, other player

    Blazers get Francis and Frye
