  1. Wow. What an awesome match. So close in the last 20 minutes with Poland desperately hanging on. I didn't think German were made to score tonight with 2 off the bar, but in the end they did. I was rooting for the Poles, not sure why, because if Poland were unable to beat Costa Rica, it coulda meant that we ended playing Germany in the second round.

But yeh, all 3 matches have been entertaining and thus concluding my favourite day of the cup so far.

    But bring on England!

  2. The Spain V Ukraine game was pretty damn good, if not just for Spain's owning.

Tunisa V Saudia Arabia was much better than i expected. Especially in the closing moments.

And hopefully Poland and Germany will be good, and hell a good riot wont go a miss either.

This is looking to be one of the best days of the Cup so far.

  3. Im really enjoying this match. And despite what Motson and Mark may say i think Ghana have been playing quite decent considering they are big time underdogs. Its been quite an exciting match with lots of chances. Today's easily been the best day of the Cup so far.

  4. I didnt really watch the Mexico/Iran game. I heard it was pretty boring except for the goals. I was semi watching the Portugal/Angola game and have the conclusion that the portugese need to be severed with a rusty spoon. The Holland/Serbia was ok only for the comedy value of the serbia defence.

  5. I may be biased but i would of prefered to of seen The Red Hot Chili Pepper's in there over someone like Slipknot. I don't mean to say the Chili's should be high on the list; somewhere near the 20's would be reasonable, but i just feel they have done a lot more for the music world than some of the other bands on the list.

The Chili's were the first 'successful' band to blend rap/funk/rock which appealed them to a variety of audiences. They later went on to storm pop charts, introducing that mild funk-rock into the pop charts for the first time sucessfully. Not to mention their first number one hit 'Under the Bridge' is an anthem for all recovering drug addicts. Their bassist; Flea is probably one of the few that stand out as possibly the biggest star of the band (whereas a bassist is usually overshaddowed by the singer and guitarist(s)) and have inspired many to learn bass guitar and perhaps more specifically the viscous, fast past paced Flea style of Slapping and Popping.

Don't get me wrong. Im not some hardcore Chili Peppers fan who wants to preach to everyone, but i just feel some of their stuff at least makes them worthy of entering the list.

  6. Its crap. We need obvious lyrics like "We're gonna win. And we will kick your ass in the process". While neithers true it really gets both the fans and the players motivated. Vindaloo and 3 Lions are classic examples.

Thank god for the re-release of Three Lions.

  7. Champions - not for the cup name but for a methaphore of the world. Mawaha, etc

Was a fantastic game. To be fair, it is a bitter way to lose. West Ham pretty much dominated the first half, and the played outstandingly well in the second. Tis a shame

  8. Ala Champions League final the Extra Time has slowed down, but what an awesome game. It'll be gripping to see it go to pens but it may be Liverpool's only realist option, with the amount of cramp clustered players.

  9. Lost.

It was something new, and while 24 does include some new original and griping storylines, its been done before, several times.

Lost is on the border line of realism with the exception of the killer smoke plume and really does push the bounderies of drama and horror rolled into one. Whereas 24 leaves me pleased with the episode, much like a RAW, i can easily get up from my chair and shrug it off. Lost on the otherhand i have to peel myself from my sofa to avoid me from watching the tape recording. It leaves me guessing all week and the whole Lost Experience thats going on right now is pure genius.

  10. Locke made that last episode it was just his facination with the video and the computer made it almost comic.

I hope that now the series is going to stop being based around Jack, Locke, Sawyer and the likes and goes back to being a more deep show.

On a side note, what spawned their sudden move back to beach?

  11. Ha yeah, i guess this would become infested with spoilers. I mean if someone would like to know, im sure someone could write something with spoiler tags on.

I have a few friends who downloaded the series and ive been desperately trying to avoid any conversation regarding LOST and what happens because the general TV feel is so much more compelling.

  12. So the second series of Lost starts in the UK tonight at 10 pm, the episodes on channel 4. Im quite pumped despite it being a while since i watch it.

Im interested to see the whole Micheal/Walt/Jin/Sawyer thing unfold the most actually, i dont know why but i have a soft spot for Sawyer and his asshole attitude.

So what are people looking forward to the most, and for discussion sakes, talk about your favourite bits from season 1.

  13. Things I'd like to see changed in GM mode:

You should have the option to decide who wins yourself, in addition to being able to play the match or simulate it and let the game decide who wins.

And I'd like to be able to see a wrestler's fatigue level when booking a show instead of only being able to tell by looking at the roster.

Plus, it makes no sense that you can't use Divas as managers in matches that they can't participate in as wrestlers. Iirc, there have been plenty of times where someone has had a woman manager during a hardcore match.

  14. Regarding the Storyline thing again. I just started a Smackdown Season with JBL, and ive just seen what happened to Teddy Long, now im straight on the Legends Tour. Tell me, is there normally more before this with a different character, or does it normally go in this sequence. Its just that i read what Ollie said a lil while ago, and hes listed the different storylines you get, im not sure whether that is in order or not.

  15. RAW has... Uneasy Allies, Legends, A Very Special Story, Time to Rumble, Road to WrestleMania.

SD! has... Torrie's Contract, Urning Your Spot, Legends Tour, Time to Rumble, Road to WrestleMania.

However, the last three are both different for RAW & SD!, and the last one has two different versions for each brand.

    So in total 12.
