  1. ARE you kidding me? Davids rarely does much for Barca?

Do you even watch the La Liga when you made the statement.

Barca was on a 16 match unbeaten streak in the second half of the season due to one man: Edgar Davids. If they had secured his services at the beginning of the season, they could well be the La Liga winners.

And did you see Barca vs Madrid? Beckham had to resort to tough tackling to negate Davids, and even then, Madrid lost!

Beckham is just a one trick pony. And he ain't scoring much from free kicks this season with Madrid. In fact, I think Roberto Carlos is way better at taking free kicks than Beckham.

Beckham is a good footballer, but he ain't on the level of Figo, Zidane, Davids and Nedved.

Beckham is only bought by Madrid due to his marketing appeal.

  2. Well, Chelsea have reported to have made a move for Roberto Carlos.

Real Madrid and Brazil defender Roberto Carlos claims he has had an offer from Chelsea but still hopes to win a new deal with the deposed Spanish champions.

The World Cup winner, one of six 'galacticos' on the books at the Bernabeu, insists his heart still lies with Madrid who conceded their Spanish title to Valencia at the weekend.

The 31-year-old told Onda Cero radio station that his advisers had been contacted by Chelsea.

'I have not spoken directly with anybody but people from Chelsea spoke to my lawyers,' he said.

It is reported that the London club were offering a three-year deal worth £4million a year.

The former Inter Milan player said he hoped to remain with Madrid.

He said: 'I'm happy here and people know that.

'My aim is to keep playing until I am 38 and I want to spend five of those in Madrid and then the last two in Brazil with Santos.'

However, his present deal expires in 2005 and Carlos admitted that he expected the club to move from their present position in negotiations.

'I want a four-year contract,' he explained. 'The club have given me two options but I want to hold out for four years.

'I want to speak to (director of football Jorge) Valdano and the president (Florentino Perez) next week and sort out my future before going on holiday.'

Personally, I don't think we need Carlos. He's a good player, but he's too old. Furthermore, we already have Bridge, and Melchiot makes a decent backup for the left back position.

  3. Arsenal thoroughly deserved the title. They played some beautiful football this season, even tho I hate to admit it.

Abramovich should learn from Arsenal and Valencia. A winning team is built, not bought.

  4. Why are Mancs sdo convinced they will sign Rooney, Gerrard and van der Vaart? You won't get any, you'll just sign another average player like last summer:

    Kleberson

    Djemba-Djemba

    Saha

    etc

    etc

    :P

And Mancs are always boasting about all the money they have to spend, how much did we spend in the summer again?

Saha is on a good streak tho. He has been more consistent than RVN when he arrived at OT, IMO.

And Soccernet says Smith won't rule out a move to Manchester United. , and I believe if Sir Alex really wants him, he will be able to get him.

  5. WTF? I was 3-0 up against Chelsea at home, with 15 minutes to. Then Mutu comes on and scores 5 goals in 15 minutes to win it for chelsea 5-3. Aaagh!

I've noticed Mutu is one of the best forwards in the game, unlike in real life. Whenever I manage Chelsea, Mutu will always be my top scorer.

  6. Well, I've just done a treble with Barcelona, knocking out Chelsea in the CL final, beating Villarreal in the Spanish Cup final, and won the league with quite a few games more to go in my second season.

So, two trebles in two seasons, let's see if I can do a third. :)
