  1. Coming from a person who does not play Football games, what would be a better pick up right now...This game or FIFA 10? I mainly want to do online play. I've played both demos and love them both, just not too keen on the prices for either right now. So essentially, which is worth the cost right now?

Well, I'm pretty sure World Cup will be more active than FIFA10 online from now all through the summer until FIFA11.

True, after talking to some of my buds, I think I might get FIFA 10 if I see a price drop next month because they also have it and they still actively play it, then we can do multiplayers, if it doesn't by the end of May I will prob buy WC 2010, but thanks for the advice.

  2. I finally got around to seeing Kick-Ass. And god damnit I'm giving it a 9/10 for being fucking awesome and entertaining as shit. I know there are people that hate it and I know there are people that were underwhelmed, but this exceeded all my high expectations. Great fucking time.

I mirror your rating, so fucking awesome, my expectations were so low for this when I saw previews this blew me away!

  3. Def the better team won that series in my eyes. The Spurs are never really that turned on until about 3/4 of the season is done, that is when everything clicks. I knew the Manu would step up and the biggest surprise comes from George Hill (who I think should have won MIP) who stepped up where Roger Mason took steps back. Also with "The Big Fundamental" I would never count the guy out not even at his "Old age" of 34 (which is weird to say).

The next round may be a challenge if it's Phoenix with their Run n Gunnin. Or Portland's HEART playing, they just won't die!

The Bucks are surprising everyone, hell I didn't think they'd get even two games. This will be a big step backwards for the Hawks if they are eliminated. PS. I miss Delfino right now as a Raptor fan :(

Cavs and Celts is gonna be a 7 gamer, hopefully Bron Bron's elbow will be good to go to make this a very competitive series.

I'm telling you right now, one way or another, next yr. Watch out for OKC they are gonna tear through the West Division, no doubt about that!

The Nuggets are JUST hanging on, if they can put something together like they did last game, this series might not be over just yet, but they have to get their shit together asap.

  5. So when do we start referring to the Post-Bosh era? Can we start now?

LOL I heard about a good rumor though...Bosh for Joakim Noah in a sign and trade?

Personally if Bosh wants to leave, that's all fine and well, if TO can swing a deal for his sayonara I say take it. Noah is a good defender, not exactly the best in offense but if TO can get something for losing Bosh, he is def a guy I'd want on his team, very scrappy and always brings the good stuff.

Of course the other one was Bosh for David Lee, which would be also suitable with how good Lee is offensively though on defense he leaves nothing to be desired :/

    Discuss!

  6. Press made Miike Snow seem like a novelty band? Really? Might be different in different places I guess, but over here everyone was on their dick as amazing (which they are).

"Love" by Angels & Airwaves wins this thread, at least as far as recent albums go.

Totally LOVE blew me out of the water, didn't expect it to be much!

One that I thought would be terrible would be Love/Hate by The-Dream when it came out but it grew on me

  7. I just noticed this thread after talking about it in the "what you are listening to" thread. I love this band, I was tempted to see them in Jersey last summer, I might have to go this summer. I do like the new single, it's different but I still like it! Can't wait for the new album!

  8. The Gaslight Anthem - if you haven't heard about them, they are an Indie Rock band based out of New Jersey and are very decent. They've had two albums out and their next is coming out in June, if anyone get's a chance to check them out, their new single is called "American Slang". Wikipedia them if you must!

also I just got the new Usher album, I'm praying it will be better than the last *shudders*

  9. ...Another day, another Raptor movement:

According to RealGM.com, Toronto will trade Roko Ukic and the rights to Carlos Delfino to the Milwaukee Bucks for Amir Johnson and Sonny Weems.

This stems from Roko being basically the odd man out in the PG position with the arrival of Jarrett Jack and Toronto's lack of money to acquire Delfino who would also not see much court time with the Raps rotation looking basically complete.

Amir became expendable to the Bucks with their signing of Hakim Warrick, so this may be a win-win with the players possibly getting more court time out of this.

The good thing also is that both Amir and Sonny are in their last contract years (for Sonny, TO has a team option).

On the bad side, Ukic was very impressive and he could make it big in the NBA, TO may be kicking themselves in the coming years but you never know.

Posnanski: Wells Has Worst Contract In MLB

    13th August, 2009 - 1:47 pm

SI.com - According to a column by Joe Posnanski, Vernon Wells has the worst contract in all of baseball. The Blue Jays gave Wells a seven-year, $126 million contract after the 2006 season.

Below is a list of the eleven worst contract in the MLB, according to Posnanski.

    1. Vernon Wells

    2. Jose Guillen

    3. Barry Zito

    4. Carlos Silva

    5. Alfonso Soriano

    6. Gary Matthews

    7. Alex Rios

    8. Kerry Wood

    9. Travis Hafner

    10. Jeff Suppan

    11. B.J. Ryan

In the full article from SI, Posnanski wants to refer Jay's bad contracts as Ricciardi's

  11. In another cash dump, Rasual Butler has been shipped from the New Orleans Hornets to the Clippers for a future Draft Pick. Talk about your subtraction by SUBTRACTION

Leon Powe has signed on with the Cavs and Big Baby Glen Davis resigns with Boston for 2 more years.

also: Linas Klezia and Von Wafer have left the NBA for Olympiakos to join Josh Childress in Greece

In other news: Wade has bought a new house in Chicago *maybe a sign of things to come...or maybe not*, and just a question, what are the odds, in your opinion, Lebron James actually signs with New York next year??

Raptors Officially Acquire Belinelli For George, Cash

The Golden State Warriors have acquired guard/forward Devean George from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for guard Marco Belinelli, the team announced today. As part of the deal, the Warriors also receive cash considerations. “We’re looking forward to adding a veteran with Devean’s experience to our squad,” said General Manager Larry Riley. “He is obviously a proven winner and has been on several very successful teams during his career, which is something we feel is important when you look at the youth on our roster. He is a versatile player and someone who we feel can contribute both on and off the court.”

So the Raps add another piece to their nice looking roster and bring along a little bit more Italia for their newly extended contract big man Bargnani. IMO good deal as from what I hear, Belinelli is a good kid with good range and could fit very well into the rotation at SG

    - Raps also officially signed Rasho to a one year contract in the $1.9 Mill with their Bi-Annual exception where he will be the main backup for Bargnani.

this is the unofficial depth chart as of right now going into the next season for the Raps:

C: Andrea Bargnani, Rasho Nesterovic, Patrick O’Bryant

    PF: Bosh, Reggie Evans

    SF: Hedo Turkoglu, Antoine Wright

    SG: Belinelli, DeRozan, Quincy Douby

PG: Jose Calderon, Jarett Jack, Roko Ukic, Marcus Banks

with one more spot open to sign either Pops or Delfino. IMO, I think they should get Pops because he is an energy guy and with Delfino, he will eat minutes from DeRozan and with plenty of Guards especially since they have a lot of combo guards like Belinelli, Jack, Douby and even Calderon it seems like a no brainer to grab a guy who always goes for rebounds.

  13. could just be to clear cap space for next year because if Chandler does not like Charlotte or they do not perform well this year he can rescind his Player Option for next year and be a free agent.

    also:

Mavs sign Tim Thomas - good defender and perimeter shooter

Pacers sign Earl Watson - good replacement for Tinsley as a backup

Cavs waive Tarence Kinsey - to clear some space and cap room

  14. Quentin Richardson's flippity floppity off-season:

On June 25, 2009, Richardson was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for Darko Miličić and cash considerations.

On July 17, 2009, he was traded again by the Memphis Grizzles to the Los Angeles Clippers for Zach Randolph.

On July 20, 2009, he was again traded by the Los Angeles Clippers to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Sebastian Telfair, Mark Madsen, and Craig Smith.

    :S

Raps officially introduced Jarrett Jack today! He will most likely be their 6th man with his ability to play and defend both guard spots and if Derozan or whoever starts sucks he can easily be the SG starter so a great pick up overall

Agent: Magic, Barnes Reach Two-Year Deal

    Jul 21, 2009 9:09 AM EST

Agent Aaron Goodwin confirmed to the Orlando Sentinel early Tuesday that the Magic and Matt Barnes have agreed on a two-year deal.

Goodwin represents both Barnes and Magic center Dwight Howard.

"He has agreed to a two-year deal, and I believe that Dwight's recruitment of him truly sealed the deal," Goodwin wrote in a text message to the Sentinel.

The deal, which has not been finalized, could be announced as early as Tuesday, an NBA source said.

Good signing for Orlando, they get a guy who can come off the bench and shoot, which is their philosophy

    Boozer's First Choice Is Miami

    Jul 20, 2009 11:38 PM EST

In an interview, Carlos Boozer gushed about the city of Miami.

"My wife [CeCe] and I first came here for tax reasons and fell in love with it," Boozer said. "Love the palm trees, the laid-back attitude, the sun, quality of life. It's like paradise here, and I would love to be part of the Heat.

"They're a very good team, and I'm real close to some of the guys. Dwyane [Wade] and I started to get close at the Athens Olympics in 2004, and I'd love to play on his team," he continued.

Boozer lives in the Miami area during the off-season.

Maybe a sign of things to come, who knows in this crazy off-season!?!?! Also with Millsap staying put it is almost inevitable that Boozer will move this summer

Heat Unlikely To Match Moon's Offer

    Jul 20, 2009 4:40 PM EST

The Heat are unlikely to match the offer sheet that Jamario Moon signed with the Cavaliers over the weekend.

Miami already has a number of options at small forward and has 11 players under contract for the 2009-10 season, not including rookies.

Also, matching Cleveland's offer for Moon would restrict the Heat from trading the forward until December. They would also need his permission for any trade this coming season.

The financial terms of the offer aren't yet known, but the Cavaliers have about $3.2 million of their mid-level exception left after signing Anthony Parker last week.

Talk about recruiting former Raptors, first Parker, Moon and also reportedly Joey Graham as well

    Nash Accepts $22M Extension

    Jul 20, 2009 1:54 PM EST

Steve Nash told the Suns over the weekend that he will accept a two-year extension worth an estimated $22 million, according to team sources.

Nash is expected to formally announce the decision on his Twitter feed at some point on Monday.

Phoenix offered Nash a two-year, $20 million extension two weeks ago, then increased the offer during a meeting in Las Vegas last week.

The agreement means he's under contract with the Suns through the 2011-12 season.

    Sean May Signs With Sacramento

    Jul 21, 2009 6:39 PM EST

The Sacramento Kings have agreed on a one-year contract with Sean May.

The Kings announced the deal Tuesday. May became a free agent when Charlotte declined to make him a one-year qualifying offer of $3.7 million last month.

  15. Jarrett Jack given an offer sheet by the Raptors for $20 Mill for 4 years. Now if you are wondering why they'd pay for basically a backup PG, they are not, this is a versatile guy who can play the SG position as well. Also with the way Calderon plays, Calderon as well could spend time in the SG position with his shooting percentages.

They are also still looking at pursuing Rasho Nesterovic and Carlos Delfino but with all these moves the Raps are making, they should look for a backup with better defensive skills at the Guard position
