  1. Is this penalty for Rice literally kicking a player between the legs the best example yet of a referee waving play on because they know VAR can bail them out?

I'm so fed up of what the technology has made the game at the top level. And that's before we mention yet another inches-worth offside call from VAR earlier in the game.

  2. That was nerve-wracking...the winning run is over bur Doncaster have made the Play-Offs and finished 5th.

2-0 up and cruising at Gillingham, the goalkeeper handballed outside the box and got sent off, they scored the free kick and then quickly equalised but Rovers held on to cap a remarkable storm up the table.

I'm already looking at train tickets to Donny

Would absolutely love three points against Brentford tonight to mathematically secure survival. (Until we get docked a million points on the last day of the season just because)

A draw will as good as do it now thanks to goal difference. Which I'll take with Chermiti starting up front!

  4. Happy with that, I wanted MHJ and we got him.

nothing sums up why I had to retire the name analysis bit more than "Caleb Williams" and "Jayden Daniels." What can you do with that other than pick any American suburb's phonebook and expect to find those names?

Just wait until Ladd McConkey and Cooper Beebe come off the board. There's some great names in this draft.

  5. I will say, he was in Bologna for an unrelated racing event, but I do think Ferrari makes sense as his next move.

It's huge, and I wonder if it'll make anyone in Red Bull rethink the importance of Horner to the operation. They can't risk losing Verstappen over that whole scandal especially if Newey is already going.

  6. Amazing night, a thoroughly deserved win. To a man the Everton players wanted it more.

When the second went in, I knew we'd win. Liverpool just didn't look at it - there aren't excuses for that, not that I'm surprised to see the usual in here about fitness or tiredness. Van Dijk was absolutely rinsed all night long by Calvert-Lewin, and Nunez and Salah were very wasteful up front.

It doesn't get much sweeter than winning the derby, to essentially secure safety, and end Liverpool's title challenge in the same breath.

  7. I'm sorry to keep harping on about this, but also I'm not.

Doncaster have now equalled their club record of 10 wins in a row, set in 1947, with a 4-1 win at Colchester tonight. That's also three straight games scoring 4 goals.

It means that we are now 5th and in need of only a point at Gillingham on Saturday to confirm a Play Off place. All for a team who were 20th at the start of last month. I've never known anything like it.

  8. Finished it just now, I loved it. It got better as it went along and by the end I was so on board with basically all of it.

    Spoiler

The finale paid off lots of the build, explained the plot threads but left open enough to keep it intriguing. I've totally turned around on Lucy now and think her development through the series mirrored very well how you feel as the protagonist going through the games.

Cooper/Ghoul is such a badass, that scene with the BOS in the dark during the finale was amazing, and really well shot. The pre-war scenes with him are an absolute triumph, they really help the world and story move along and the way they revealed the truth of Vault 31 and tied it in to his background was excellent.

I felt the pace of the first 2-3 episodes was a bit off, a lot got thrown at the viewer and the tone was a bit inconsistent. Once it settled in to itself though and focused more on character and plot progression than stylised violence and easter eggs, it became a phenomenal show to watch. From Episode 4 onwards, every episode I watched became my new favourite of the series.

The games mean an awful lot to me, playing them basically got me through the pandemic when I may as well have lived in a vault myself because I wasn't allowed to go outside. So when they played the Fallout 4 theme in the vault classroom as Lucy saw the history of Shady Sands, I got genuinely emotional. And when the finale ended with the shot of New Vegas...oh boy. That was awesome.

    I can't wait for season 2.

  9. These decisions aren't even in the top 5 of big fuck ups by officials this season, this is so embarrassing.

Clubs should not be allowed to hire their own referees to essentially whinge about decisions. It's farcical, and entirely down to the way elite football has embraced VAR and its many, many flaws.

  10. The National League have made a complete pig's ear of this.

It has taken them three statements to confirm that in fact, Solihull will not get a bye and will instead face Halifax in an Eliminator, then Altrincham get the bye but have to go to Bromley in the semis instead. Plenty of fans from several clubs involved pissed off, not least because games and days have changed at no notice.

How do Doncaster fans feel about Grant McCann these days? He's obviously got them on a great run of form right now, but is there still any lingering resentment about the time he left them to join Hull? Can you trust him not to do something similar in the future?

The fans love him, and never wavered during our very bad form earlier in the season. Things have gotten so bad over the past few seasons that he was welcomed back with open arms. Things he said before coming back and when he did suggested he had reflected on the manner of leaving us in the lurch.

Can you trust him not to do it again? I don't trust any manager or player not to personally, but that's me.

  12. Seems a potentially knee-jerk idea in response to the fact that the current order has an even split of 5 teams much stronger than the other 5, which just so happens to be the line between the points finishing positions and below.

Frankly, three teams have gotten so far in without points this season because all three have huge issues - Sauber can't do proper pitstops, Williams don't have enough car parts and keep crashing, and Alpine have built a glorified tractor.

  13. I cannot believe Doncaster Rovers.

2-0 down at half time in front of 10k at home, came back to win 4-2 late on against Play-Off rivals Barrow and make it nine wins in a row. It's now completely in our hands going into the last day, never known anything like it.
