  2. Speaking of L33t, when the hell did elitists start liking Justin Timberlake? What, he somehow survived the death of boy bands so you respect him now? I've seen people here and other places bash actual bands like Linkin Park (who are definitely under-rated by the elitists and at least put some emotion into what they do) and then turn around basically kiss Timberlake's ass.

I actually tried to listen to some of his stuff, and it stills sounds like he's trying to be Nsync long after they broke up.

The funny thing is, he actually did a decent job singing "Hallelujah" on the Haiti benefit, but on his own albums he seems to keep writing crappy Pop-Dance songs with no effort on the vocals.

It's like when Kylie Minogue did Where The Wild Roses Grow with Nick Cave. It is miles above her regular stuff.

Yet the same people crap on Mainstream Rock.

Is it because you have such low standards for "Pop" music and extremely high standards for Rock?

  3. link

Basically, you can legally listen to anything in the catalog and it's free. And they seem to have stuff from every major label and even stuff that's hard to get over here.

I still like the idea of owning an album, even if it's just in mp3 format. But this is a nice way to preview music.

  4. Ok, so how I've set this up was to take the latest update, deleted all organizations and add my own.

    Feds:

    Global

World Wide Wrestling (WWW) - Basically the WWE in this world. The owner, WWW Board of Directors prefers characters. Try to get the biggest stars and potential stars that you can.

Athletic Wrestling Allstars (AWA) - Run by Shane McMahon, who is set to prefer Technical skill. Do you dare follow the game-plan and only sign the best Technical wrestlers and high-flyers you can get your hands on? Or will you just sign every big star that's available?

    National

International Fighting Championships (IFC)- MMA fed run by Antonio Inoki, looking for the hardest hitting legit fighters out there.

    Cult

Aerial Assault Wrestling (AAW) - Run by Quackenbush (renamed Chikara Office of Fun). The mission here is simple. Fill your roster with the best high-flyers you can get.

Pro Wrestling Tradion (PWT) - Run by Bill Watts, this is a low-risk old-school style fed.

I gave each company title belts that I felt fit the company. You may modify how you wish. Just for some examples: WWW has no title for lightheavyweights, while AWA does. But WWW is the only fed with a women's title. Though they will most likely sign "divas" over talented female workers. IFC has only one title. No weight limits.

The big two have development territories and training camps. IFC has a training camp.

There are no tv shows and no pre-set events. Just a race to the top of the wrestling world.

I'll gladly upload this if anyone is interested.

  5. It looks like Datpiff is letting all free members download 99,999 mixtapes today. And you don't have to wait the usual 15 minutes between tapes.

Also, here are the songs from the Loincoln commercials (like Shiny Toy Guns cover of Major Tom) for free.

  6. I signed back up for it to take advantage of the 75 free downloads thing they offered former subscribers (I had it back in '05 for like two months). It was a week before the Sony deal went into effect, which is unfortunate for me because I had already gotten two albums by then, but it's all good. Thusfar I've picked up the following albums;

    - Walking Backwards by Clutchy Hopkins

    - Hope & Sorrow by Wax Tailor

    - Super Extra Gravity by The Cardigans

    - The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest

    - Tiger Trap by Tiger Trap

So I'm probably going to end up with somewhere in the vicinity of seven to eight albums for a grand total of $12. After that I'll figure out if I actually want to keep it recurring since I think the base amount is like 24 songs per month, and two albums for $12 is nowhere near as appealing a deal and I probably can't afford to subscribe to something more expensive. Most likely I'll unsubscribe and wait for them to make a similar offer again, if possible.

Yeah, because I canceled my paid membership once and they eventually sent me an offer for 75 more free tracks.

And I am definitely getting that Tribe Called Quest album.

  7. Oh man this takes me back.

Yeah. It may have been a shite game. But I loved this so much back when I was a kid and it still looks fucking good today and I really wanna play it again.

They should remake it and now.

Wait a minute. Michael's enemy was Masahiro Chono?

Anyway, I used to love Saturday Night Slam Masters on SNES. Funny thing is, I tried playing it on an emulator awhile back and I sucked at it. but I used to be pretty good with it back in the day.

  8. Question: Does anyone know how to just tell your iTunes where all your files went rather then having to go through individually? Bleh, I don't want to have to keep all this stuff on my desktop.

That's why I use Media Monkey. And, honestly, you can now buy a lot of mp3's through Amazon for the same price as Itunes charges. And sometimes the whole album is cheaper. I bought both Death Magnetic and Viva La Vida last December for $5 a piece.

  9. GROUP A:

    The Crow

    Sin City

    Spider Man

    Hancock

    Aeon Flux

Tough call on the first three, with Hancock coming in fourth.

    GROUP B:

    League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen

    Judge Dredd

    Elektra

    Tank Girl

    Catwoman

I actually saw that one and enjoyed it. Haven't seen Elektra or Catwoman.

    GROUP C:

    Men In Black

    Hulk (Norton)

    Superman Returns

    Iron Man

    300

Damn, hard group to choose from.

    GROUP D:

    Flash Gordon

    Hulk (Bana)

    Transformers

    Spawn

    V For Vendetta

Some decent ones here. I might be one of the few people who actually liked Spawn.

    GROUP E:

    Fantastic Four

    Akira

    Watchmen

    Constantine

    Alien vs Predator

    Have not seen Watchmen yet.

    GROUP F:

    Superman (original)

    Nick Fury (Hasslehoff)

    Punisher

    Terminator

    Blade

Another tough one. Superman and Terminator are certified classics. Technically, though, Terminator was not a comic before it became a movie. Blade is good. Is that the Punisher starring Thomas Jane? because there was one with Lundgren in the 80's.

    GROUP G:

    Daredevil

    Road To Perdition

    X-Men

    The Phantom

    Batman: Dark Knight

Didn't know that Perdition was based on a comic book. Good group, but Dark Knight outshines all of them.

    GROUP H:

    Ghost Rider

    X-Men Origins: Wolverine

    Hellboy

    Robocop

    Dick Tracy

    Have not seen Wolverine yet.

  10. The Johnny Cash version of Hurt I would say is sadder then NIN. Especially when seen with the video.

I've got to go with this.

    And:

    Tom Waits - Poor Edward

    Patti Smith - Elegy

  11. If Clive Barker ever writes the third Book of the Art, each one of them would need a Stand quality miniseries (preferably on HBO).

RL Stine's The Fear Street Saga (FYI, Fear Street was his series of books for older readers.) I used to love the series and the story of how the street came to be named and cursed would make a pretty good trilogy.
