  1. I thought the album was really good. It took a few listens for me to get into, but now i've got it on repeat. I don't quite know if it's as good as "Be" but it's definitely a really good album. I thought it could've had another song or two though, seemed a bit on the short side.

The Pharoahe album is quite good aswell. Pharoahe always seems to be solid though.

Looking forward to Kweli later this month aswell. There's definitely some good stuff coming up, new Kanye, Little Brother, Del The Funky Homosapien, Redman & Lupe Fiasco are all supposed to be out within the next 3 or so months.

  2. "The Space Between", "Everyday", "You Might Die Trying", "Everybody Wake Up", "Dream Girl"...those are the songs i'd recommend. I'd say "Halloween" & "Don't Drink The Water" aswell, but try the ones above first and see if you like them, the latter two are a bit more "out there" for lack of a better term I suppose.

  3. Yeah, EBG hit the nail on the head, some Boyz II Men for sure.

    Brian McKnight is quite good.

I'd say John Legend, Dwele, Bilal, D'Angelo, Glenn Lewis, Musiq (Soulchild) & Raphael Saadiq aswell. I think these are all worthy of a listen. All very good R&B/Neo-Soul artists.

...not a fanboy at all :shifty:

  5. I hate those Chevrolet commercials that feature the guy named "Johnny". If he were my friend i'd slap the shit out of him, he literally kills the joy that's in everyone of his friends by being completely lame.

The Philly Cheesestake commerical for McDonalds irritates me aswell, it could just be because of the people they chose to interview though.

Beatnik is right aswell, those Oatmeal Crisp commercials are brillant

  6. I actually know Lee (the drummer) for Brown Brigade, he's the son of a family friend. Last I heard they were going to New York in the near future to have a metting about getting a record deal. He's a good drummer and i'm looking forward to hearing them.

  7. Western Conference:

    (1) Detroit vs. (8) Edmonton (In Five Games)

I just think Detroit is going to be too strong for the Oilers. The Red Wings are good all around and I think they'll go deep this year. I do see Edmonton pulling off a game in OT perhaps and i'm always pulling for the Canadian team but I can't see them getting any farther this year.

    (2) Dallas vs. (7) Colorado (In Six Games)

I see Dallas going deep this year aswell. The Avs will put up a fight like they usually do but I think The Stars are just going to out play them. Plus I'm still not sure Jose Theodore will be able to lead Colorado to a length playoff run.

    (3) Calgary vs. (6) Anaheim (In Six Games)

Mikka is going to carry this team on his back, the guy is a workhorse. Anaheim will be solid but not good enough to beat Calgary.

    (4) Nashville vs. (5) San Jose (In Seven Games)

This is probably going to be the most exciting series of the first round. Two well matches teams but Cheechoo + Thornton = Winners.

    Eastern Conference:

    (1) Ottawa vs. (8) Tampa Bay (In Six Games)

The Sens will be fine without Hasek for the time being. Emery will be alright but TB will steal two at home before Ottawa finishes the job.

    (2) Carolina vs. (7) Montreal (In Six Games)

Carolina's going to come through in this one but the Habs are a thorn in everyone's side come playoff time (Boston i'm looking at you). I see this one being alot of fun.

    (3) New Jersey vs. (6) NY Rangers (In Seven Games)

My Devils managed to capture the division title but I'm sure NY is going to want some revenge. Hopefully Brodeur can put them on their back and lead them to another Stanley Cup. Oh and it's going to be a long drawn out series.

    (4) Buffalo vs. (5) Philadelphia (In Six Games)

Well I hate both teams, Philly more so but I have a feeling that they'll pull a great series out of their ass and take this one. Buffalo isn't going to let up, but will eventually fall.

  8. I don't know if it's been reported anywhere as a possibility but Royce Da 5'9" and Proof have had beef with one another for awhile and I think I remember hearing that they had a confrontation a year or two ago that involved one or both pulling guns out.

  9. Coheed & Cambria w/ The Blood Brothers, Dredg & mewithoutyou - Oct 2005 (The Docks)

    - Awesome show. Coheed and Dredg rocked the house, they both had fantastic sets and it was a great experience for my first concert. I wasn't a fan of The Blood Brothers going into the concert but they were actually quite good live, got the crowd really pumped. We missed mewithoutyou as we got there late but the entire concert was great. I even got the Blood Brothers drum sticks after getting hit in the head with them. Yay me.

Common w/ Shad K - Feb 2006 (The Kool Haus)

    - Entirely different environment than the Co&Ca show. Still a fantastic concert though as Shad K (a local rapper from London, Ont) who I had never heard of was actually really good. He freestyled a bit and was really talented on his acoustic gutiar aswell. The DJ played the best of J-Dilla in between sets as he had died a week or so earlier and the crowd really ate it up. Then Common came on and rocked the house as the crowd went nuts for him. He played everything I wanted to hear and he had a great sense of humor aswell.

  10. The Blood Brothers are pretty good. I wasn't into them when I went to see the Coheed & Cambria concert in Toronto but when they played live they were actually pretty good.

Plus I got cracked in the head with the drum stick they threw into the crowd, I made sure I grabbed that shit before anybody else could though.

Peacocks Skeleton With Crooked Feathers & Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck are my two favourite songs.

  11. I'll take a look at the incident on the PVR tomorrow, but it would be helpful if somebody else could post a video of the incident because honestly I'm too busy watching the election.

I still think that Varada just looked up in time to avoid being another Colio victim. He's going to be a clean version of Scott Stevens. Ain't that right KFC? :shifty:
