No I'm not getting involved this time; I don't think it's fair to fuck you lot about with my stupid online timing patterns.

You can update the PS3 via the Internet, or you can download the update file from the Internet and put it on a USB Flash Drive, and then you can update it from that.

I can't speak for the 360, though.

I'm up for it, but I don't know if it'd be fair on you guys because some days I might not be able to play. That, and once I get home on Monday I'm not going to have a laptop for a couple of days so I'll only be on sparodically on my Dad's.

Scored my first ever freekick yesterday!

It was a cracker from Ryan Giggs to put QPR 2-0 up in the League Cup semi-final against Arsenal. It ended 3-2 to QPR in the end and the other two goals where scored by Jermaine Beckford and Danny Welbeck. I'm pleased I've finally scored a freekick though!

Tell you what; someone on the PS3 (or 360, can't be too different) go through, step-by-step, how they got the file for me. If you love me enough, EWB.

Right I've done that, and I now have Squads 1 (original) and Squads 2. To create Squads 2, I downloaded the Squad File through a ranked match, quit the match when it said it'd saved (I didn't get the option to name it) and quit the ranked match, as others in this thread have said do. I saved the squad file loaded (which I presumed would be from the ranked match; thus the new update) as Squads 2. I then loaded, and I've still got the old squads. Also, according to my saved data utility on the PlayStation main menu, I have a squad file called 'ONLINE SQUADS', but I'm not given the option to load this on the load squads menu.

Also, doubt it makes a difference but I'll mention that I don't have an Adiddas Live Season, because I had to clear all my data a while back and I can't use my code a second time. I'm sure it makes no difference though.

Any idea why the servers are down? Also, when downloading the squad file, do I do it the way Darloboy said do it? Through going to ranked play first? Or is there another way?

EA's servers aren't the best and they take them offline for maintenance pretty much every day, just try again later. And yes, go to a ranked match, it will tell you to download the latest squads, do that, then you can back out of the match at the team select screen unless you want to play the game. Go to My FIFA 09 and then save and overwrite your current squad file, should work.

Download them, then go and save them over your current squad file.

Right, it reckons I've downloaded the squad file and that. It doesn't come up in my downloaded content, but I can load it from squads. I've tried that three times and it doesn't want to work. I've still got the old squads. Help? I'm on the PS3 version.
