Adama Traore, the Aston Villa winger, is booked in for a medical on Teeside today, thereby placing the Middlesbrough future of Albert Adomah in doubt. Calum Chambers is already signed and sealed as a Middlesbrough defender, having completed his season long loan deal last night.

Not sure of the substance, but apparently it might be a trade, Traore for Adomah. I'm not really familiar with Adomah, but Traore has not been shy in saying he doesn't want to stay with us any longer, and he looks pretty half-arsed on the pitch often, so sure, why not. The whole point of this window from the offset was supposed to be to get rid of the antagonisers within the squad. Gabby and Richards appear to have been bombed out, if Traore doesn't want to stay and play, we'd be best off without him. If he stays though, he needs to play.

Dat penultimate episode. See it coming from a mile off and still felt like I'd been shot.

    Spoiler

Kept telling myself they wouldn't. Literally had to take a minute afterwards, lost for words.

Going from that into the Finale though, with the increasing coming together of Spaghettigeddon, and with every extra 'layer' put into that, I nearly died laughing.

No idea where they go from here really, but goddamn am I excited to find out, already.

Different people have different opinions and tastes, some people like the progressive story telling nature of the band.  I mean I love those songs, but there is so much more to Coheed than "nice tunes" and that's what interests some people.  Also there are many songs just as good as the ones you mention :P

Thanks for posting so much detail and such on Coheed. Been on a binge the last couple of days, I'd forgotten how much I liked them!

Decided to give the Post-Good Apollo Vol. 1 albums another chance too, and they're better than I remember, particularly NWFT.

  4. I was in exactly the same position - pretty much when Arrow/Flash/Legends and a bunch of other things finished, and now I have Ballers, New BoJack, New Archer (nearly done with that though), Stranger Things, Mr Robot, Ray Donovan anditsjusttoomuch.

Tried out Vice Principals last night. I'll give it another episode, but I think it's a swing and a miss.

  5. Whilst I'm super happy at that news, on the other hand GOD DAMMIT NETFLIX, STOP GIVING ME SO MANY QUALITY SHOWS TO WATCH I ONLY HAVE FINITE TIME AND I CAN'T FIT EVERYTHING IN AND I'M HAVING TO PICK AND CHOOSE AND THAT'S HARD AND RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE.

  6. Re: Tyrion's Scenes

    Spoiler

I can't remember where I read the quote, but regarding the complaints about the 'time wasting' scenes involving Tyrion and Bronn, it's been pointed out that as GoT is essentially about 'saving the world from destruction', you also have to see why the world is worth saving. It's through seeing people being happy, and interacting, and that there actually are real, complete people in the cast, that you want the world to be saved. Plus that Tyrion/Miss/GW scene was gold regardless.

That is something Margarey would do. I doubt they'd reveal The Hound was alive in a scene like that, before the opening credits, if they didn't intend to build to a Clegane clash. But it doesn't have to happen in the Trial by Combat. Hound is going to be an ally of the Faith Militant, but we do have a few steps needed to get him there.

Then, they could fly through those steps in the next episode if they really want to. But it would feel rushed to people who don't obsess about show theories.

    Spoiler

Oh yeah, no doubt it'll be time for THE HYPE to be realised at some point, but I agree, I don't think it'll happen in the Trial By Combat. They (generally) don't rush storylines through. It will happen though, just probably next season.

  8. Spoiler

It'll come down to Cersei being arrogant and pompous, putting forward Zombie Mountain, thinking she has it all wrapped up. The Faith call their champion...Tommen. Margaery will egg him on to compete ("Kings can't seem weak", etc.), Cersei's arrogance will lead to the death of her final child, as was told in the prophecy, due to The Mountain being near-mindless, and only accepting Tommen as 'an enemy of Cersei', and therefore someone he must kill through his 'programming'. Cersei goes mad, things happen that I won't go into too much, as it's referring to a lot of minor stuff that may not have been noticed. Calling it.

That's not to say we won't get some rad as fuck scenes with Sandor going full Axe Cop and righting the wrongs of the murder of his cult friends.

Hype as fuck for The Hound returning - that grab of the axe at the very end was just tantalising - however, I really don't think CLEGANEBOWL~! is going to happen. How, in less than three episodes (assuming the Trial By Combat happens this season, as I can't see them dragging it to next year) is Sandor meant to be given a reason to go to Kings Landing, get there and get in with The Faith to the point that he's chosen as their champion? He's headed off to slay some Brothers, just not his own.

  10. Man, fuck that Castle finale. Dreadful.

Although I do like the (slightly nonsensical idea) that the final voiceover alludes to the last seven series all being the novels he wrote, and that final Happy Ending scene being the only 'real' part. Fuck it, it's canon.

  11. Without a doubt, I can't think of a greater fall from grace.

To be honest, I don't even need the death of Felicity. Just return her character closer to how she was; smart, funny, nerdy, but NOT The Most Important Person In The Room. We don't need that. The show is called Arrow. Oliver should be the main thrust, followed by anyone else that immediately impacts battles with villians. It's a fucking comic book show. Thea, Diggle, sure. But not someone who somehow can Hack The World. It's not exciting visually, so knock it off.

  12. Ugh, I couldn't agree more. I really wish I could just stop watching, but there's this tiny part of my brain that goes 'Naaaaah, it'll be good this week! They have to have some kind of awesome end-game in mind, right?!', and then I watch, and then I hate myself for having wasted an hour.

  13. To play Devil's Advocate, Villa fans have had quite a lot of it anyway, so y'know, if we can get a ray of sunshine from poking fun at others joining us, so be it.

Plus, the number of Newcastle fans who were acting Billy Big Bollocks when Rafa signed - not necessarily here, but elsewhere it was rampant - there's a delightful sense of schadenfreude to be had there.

That ToJ fight scene was dull as dishwater. I had no idea we were going to be getting some weird Blade-like sword fight.

Nah. I mean, you're welcome to your opinion, but nah.

Great episode, for me. Consistency-wise, I think it's my favourite season thus far - even the Mereen/Dothraki line has some great high points - but that could just be a trick of perception due to newness.

  15. Also, RETURRRRN OF KRU-LAK.

Well, his instatement as a fully fledged director, rather than the honorary position he held before.

I mean, on the one hand, great, all the figures who seemed to be poisoning the club are out - bar the terrible Paddy Reilly - but we're still down, and Lerner still has the overall helm. Next season will be massive for us, and the summer will tell us a Hell of a lot.
