  1. It's hard to make money at first. Record lots and lots and lots of singles until they're fairly well known and can produce an album that won't kill you money-wise. Also have them tour really small venues just so that their reputation goes up, which will in turn help sales. Just plug away. You'll be in the red for a while, but you'll make money once you have enough well-known artists/bands.

  2. Here are a bunch of baseball headlines that I found while searching for a Jung Bong headline. I couldn't find it, but it was something along the lines of "Bong Smoked..." anyways...

White Sox pound on the Unit (8/21/05)

Big Unit still up in air (8/14/05)

    Big Unit knocked around (7/2/05)

    Unit solid vs. Mets (6/27/05)

Angels have interest in Big Unit (7/9/04)

Blue Jays blast Yankees' Wang (3/6/06)

Wang to stick in Yanks' rotation? (9/21/05)

    Colon flushed by Royals (4/11/05)

Colon stretches himself out some (3/27/05)

  3. I just picked this up yesterday for the PS2, and I'm pretty impressed and am having fun with it. I may be impressed though because I haven't bought a Madden since 2002. I felt it was time to get back into it and at $40, I couldn't pass up. One thing I've noticed though, through 3 games into the regular season, I have 13 INTs. Playing as the Arizona Cardinals, I had 2 against Alex Smith, 5 against Matt Hasselbeck, and 6 against Marc Bulger. Is this normal?

  4. Predictions:

Block A: Yujiro and Ryouji Sai - Yujiro's new Nagata Lock alliance = push. Sai because he's the outsider that'll reach the Semis. I think at least.

BlocK B: Naofumi Yamamoto and Toru Yano. Yamamoto and Yano are in my opinion the givens. Unless Yamamoto falls flat on his face.

  5. I really like the idea of Tanahashi vs. Makai #4 who may or may not be Shibata. Absolutely brilliant booking. Plus the 'Sake on a Pole' match idea just rules. Anyways, that's a great looking card. I can't wait for Tanahashi vs. Makai #4, I think that's just an awesome idea.

  6. TOKYO - Sony Corp. said Friday it will slash the price of its much-anticipated PlayStation 3 video game console in Japan by 20 percent, heating up the competition in the next-generation gaming war against rivals Microsoft and Nintendo.

The announcement comes just days after Microsoft Corp. announced that it would roll out an external high definition DVD player for its Xbox 360 in an effort to match the PlayStation 3, due to be released in November with its own Blu-ray DVD technology. (MSNBC is a Microsoft - NBC joint venture.)

Sony Computer Entertainment President Ken Kutaragi, speaking at the Tokyo Game Show in Makuhari, just east of Tokyo, said the move was in response to consumer complaints the upcoming console was too pricey.

Sony will cut the domestic price of its basic PlayStation 3 model to 47,600 yen, or about $410, from an originally planned 59,800 yen, or $515. That puts the PlayStation 3 in the same range as the combined basic Xbox 360 and HD DVD player in Japan, where the duo will sell for 49,600 yen, or $427.

There are no plans to lower prices in the U.S. or other markets, Sony spokeswoman Nanako Kato said. In Japan, the game will hit stores on Nov. 11.

In the U.S., it will go on sale Nov. 17 at $499 for a 20 gigabyte hard drive version and at $599 for the 60 gigabyte version.

The decision could give Sony a badly needed boost at a time of embarrassing delays for the highly anticipated upgrade. Rival Nintendo Co. is also scheduled to release its next-generation Wii gaming system by year's end, while Xbox 360 has been selling in Japan since December 2005.

PlayStation 3, initially planned for earlier this year, has been postponed twice. Sony now expects to ship only 2 million units by year's end instead of an original projection of 4 million.

The price cut affects the basic PlayStation 3 model, which comes with a 20 gigabyte hard drive. Another upscale version of the PlayStation 3 will have a 60 gigabyte hard drive, but Sony is leaving its pricing to retailers.

Xbox 360 was rushed to market last year to get a headstart on its rivals, but it has seen sluggish sales in Japan, which is one of the world's biggest video game markets but one in which players have a deep loyalty to homegrown Sony.

Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft's decision to launch an HD DVD peripheral in Japan on Nov. 22, based on a rival format to Sony's Blu-ray, is seen as one attempt to eat into that base. The basic Xbox 360 doesn't come with any high-definition DVD capability.

Nintendo said last week its new Wii game console will arrive on schedule in the final quarter of the year, priced below both rivals, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

  7. Exactly, if you're going to expand the Pac 10, you would need two teams. You could theoretically add Fresno St. and Boise St., and I think there was talks of adding the Colorado schools a few years ago, (Or maybe it was Colorado St. and BYU), but like it's already been said, Fresno and Boise, while good schools, wouldn't make it through a BCS school's schedule. That was the big topic of debate during the Fresno St./Nevada game, Fresno schedules tough games, like they're playing LSU, certainly they have a chance to win, but it's slim. They were asking should Fresno schedule the tough games against big BCS schools, or just focus to win the conference each year with their easy-peasy WAC schedule. Plus I just like a 10 team conference more than 12.

But with that said, my Wolfpack are playing against Northwestern tomorrow night, should be a good game, and should be a win.

Edit: And if Northwestern were playing anybody else, I would totally be rooting for them, that's just a great story with the head coach situation, and I wish Pat Fitzgerald all the luck in the world.

  8. I think Boise St. should stay in the WAC. The Mountain West is slightly better overall, and especially at the bottom, but Colorado St. has fallen off a bit since they're 'glory' days in the 90s, BYU is down from their historical peak, and TCU is damn good.

To counter, the WAC has Fresno St. and Boise St., who can play with damn near anyone on any given Saturday, and Hawai'i, who can give people fits too. They're hurt by having San Jose St, Idaho, Utah St., and New Mexico St. though.

  9. My beloved California Golden Bears lost to Tennessee today. I wouldn't say Tennessee winning is an upset though. Tennessee's defense was extremely tough, and Lynch and Forsett could never get going. Oh, and Longshore just sucked.

Agreed, crazedfan. Hopefully they start Ayoob against Minnesota next week. I expect there to be a good 50,000 plus fans for the game.

  10. It's not a matter of being negative, it's a matter of the rules, which you clearly have not read, so let me help you.

    3. Postwhoring/Bumping

Neither is allowed. Again, it seems pretty basic, but let's go over it together.

Postwhoring is makeing a post that adds nothing to a discussion or the thread/diary. "Good show" and nothing else is postwhoring. "Push Raven" and nothing more is postwhoring. We want you to feel free and encourage you to reply to the diaries, it is important to a lot of our posters, but we don't want you to say nothing meaningful at all and move along. All that does is boost your post count, get you a bad reputation as a postwhore, and piss people off. Your post count is only important to you, not the rest of us. Don't punish us because you want to feel important. It is not allowed, and warnings will result.

How do you Bump a diary? By postwhoring. Bumping is saying nothing to get the diary you are in moved to the top spot on the first page. It is not allowed and will result in warning.
