  1. 1) You're in no position to make a judgement on her character.

    In your opinion, that is.

    2) She does make mention to the show having a huge fanbase, acknowledging the business end of things.

A fanbase that only seemed to be around for the dvds.

    3) Family Guy quite clearly was ahead of its time. It came around at a time in which conventional comedies and cop dramas ruled. Now, in 2004, off beat comedies are finding success, and it's the perfect time for the show to make its return. If something like that is so clear that I can see it myself, it's not unreasonable that the president of the FOX network would see that.

That's funny, I seem to remember it being part of the animation boom in 1999 where all the networks were trying to cash in on animation along with Dilbert, Futurama, Baby Blues and Clerks: The Animated Series. Fox made money off Family Guy's release on dvd and I don't blame them for that, but I find it funny to say the show was ahead of it's time when all it did was pick references at pop culture of the day (and South Park does a better version of that, anyway).

  2. "When I first joined the network my first order of business was ordering more episodes of 'Family Guy,'" says FOX Entertainment President Gail Berman. "I believe this show was way ahead of its time. It's now a huge DVD hit and we believe that 'Family Guy' has a ready-made fan base eager for its return."

What a bunch of bullshit. FOX saw they could make money off Family Guy, and brought it back. There are plenty of great television shows that have been cancelled because they haven't found an audience (Grosse Pointe!), and it has nothing about them being made way ahead of it's time.

If FOX (or any other tv network) could find a way of screening a test pattern with ads every 8 minutes and have it rate, i'd imagine we would be seeing it in prime time.

  4. Bendless Love would be my favourite, with Bender Should Not Be Allowed On Television, 30% Iron Chef and Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles being other great eps.

The dvds are worth the money for those who don't have them, btw. The commentary on Bender Should Not Be Allowed On Television is hilarious.

  5. I think it was ina  good position following Big Brother. Big Brother draws in good ratings, and I am sure if people were watching that show that they might consider staying to watch the next show, Amazing Race 5, and potentially score a big night for CBS. But who knows.

I'm not sure why they don't slot it on Wednesdays at 9pm, following a rerun of Survivor. (Or slot it in on Wed at 8, and cut 60 Minutes II).

  6. FOX has it's real comedy stronghold on Sunday nights... couldn't really think of a better time for it.

That may be the case, but won't it be pre-empted or joined in progress half the time due to NFL overrun?

One other thing about The Complex (aka The Block). Series two of this just started in Australia, and is being beaten by repeats of nature documentaries! (and American Idol, but just). The network airing the series has went into damage control, and the series is now airing twice a week. Mind you, this is about the fifth or sixth reality show to flop this year.

  7. dos winamp do annything besides plaing the mp3s you selected from a flooder !?

It can also rip and burn from/onto cds. Although from memory the free version limits speeds (4x?), so you have to upgrade to the full version.

  8. Yeah, it's worth it. I didn't think so at first, but when you got games like Double Dash and Mario Golf which you can pick up, put in and have three of your friends playing (and playing well in a matter of minutes), you know you have a fun system on your hands.
