  1. Apparently we're in with a £36 million bid for Joelinton though, which isn't an instant fix to our squad getting picked apart, but hey that's better than nothing. So it'll be absolutely spectacular in about a week when he decides to sign for Wolves instead or something and our only strikers for next season are Muto and uhhhh... maybe Gayle? I think we technically still have him? Whatever. Doesn't matter. Year of Muto baby.

  2. That Zelda timeline we posted yesterday? Yeah, it's basically been confirmed, courtesy of resident translator and longtime Zelda community member GlitterBerri. It's true – the timeline is a three-branch one, with the traditional Adult and Child split we all know and love founded in Ocarina of Time, plus an alternate story that has Link fail to defeat Ganon in the future, thus leading to the events that conclude the Imprisoning War.

Ancient Tales: Skyward SwordThe Minish CapFour SwordsOcarina of Time

Classic Tales: A Link to the PastOraclesLink's AwakeningThe Legend of ZeldaThe Adventure of Link

Child Tales: Majora's MaskTwilight PrincessFour Swords Adventures

Adult Tales: The Wind WakerPhantom HourglassSpirit Tracks

What we didn't have was a specific explanation concerning the Classic timeline including A Link to the Past…until now.

Branch 1: Link is defeated by Ganon in OoT.

Branch 2: Link comes back from the future in OoT and tells Zelda what's going to happen, she sends him away.

Branch 3: There is no longer a hero in the future of OoT since Link was sent back.

After Link dies in Ocarina of Time, Ganon obtains the entire Triforce. The Seven Sages seal away Ganon and the whole Triforce as a last resort, but villains with their eyes on the Triforce make for the Sacred Realm, which eventually turns into the Dark World and is filled with evil power. The Seven Sages then try to seal away the Sacred Realm itself, but end up fighting with monsters. This is the Imprisoning War of A Link to the Past.

                     → MM → TP → 4 Swords Plus

                     ↑

    SS → Minish Cap → 4 Swords → OoT → ALttP → OoS/OoA → LA → LoZ → AoL

                     ↓

→ TWW → Phantom Hourglass → Spirit Tracks

It looks as though the idea is to have the story of people making a grab for the Sacred Realm and the final seals on the Sacred Realm play out after Link's defeat in this alternate story. Sure, a number of the elements of the Imprisoning War are already fulfilled in Ocarina of Time; this finishes the job, as well as explaining why the Triforce is complete in A Link to the Past.

Somehow Nintendo have made a timeline that makes sense but is over-complicated in every way. They even fit Four Swords in somehow.

  3. ISW's ran a ton of shows (well not a ton, but their regular five-six shows) this year and have already announced their first for next year. If any Canadian promoter seems dead, it's MaxPro, who haven't updated their website in quite sometime.

Beyond Wrestling should be added as well anyway due to them opening their shows to the public, and have had two shows in the past few months.

Even if you don't remove any of the companies, there's three free slots. Assuming people want to make a company, that's two free slots. Beyond and ISW should probably take both of them, unless somebody can bring up a good case for another.

Wrestling is Fun! could be added as a Development Company for CHIKARA but it isn't exactly confirmed to be related to the company yet. Everything points towards it though.

  4. Just want to pop in here and say that if EVOLVE is going, Inter Species Wrestling should totally be re-added back to the database.

Beyond Wrestling would also be a good choice.

EDIT: And looking over the database after quickly downloading it, isn't Lucha Libra USA done as well?

EDIT again: Lucky Cannon got fired from the WWE ages ago. He should be set to open contract.

  5. Xiao's on the rumoured roster that's been going around. Dudley sadly isn't. Shame, since he and Adon (who also isn't :( ) are my mains in SSF4:AE.

Said rumoured roster, probably will end up being highly inaccurate:

    Ibuki/Makoto

    Guy/Cody

    M. Bison/Juri

    R. Mika/Zangief

    Karin/Sakura

    Rolento/Sodom

    Akuma

    Heihachi/Kuma

    Lili/Askua

    Paul/Law

    Lars/Alisa

    Bryan/Jack

    Jin/Xiaoyu

    Devil

And a System Exclusive for Xbox 360.

I mostly say it's probably inaccurate because I doubt they would miss out on Lei and Eddy, but sounds very likely outside of that.

  6. Possibly two of the biggest fighting games of all time finally have a game facing each other coming out soon, and it looks like it's the best of both worlds with all announced so far. This one is being made by Capcom, so it's a 2D fighter, but Namco are also working on their own version of the game, set to come out at a much later point in time.

Here's the announced roster so far, along with official teams (although you can play as anybody you want), those who are very likely to be added and the deconfirmed completely:

    Street Fighter:

    Ryu / Ken

    Abel / Guile

    Chun-Li / Cammy

    Poison / Hugo

    Sagat

    Dhalsim

    Ibuki

    Tekken:

    Kazuya / Nina

    King II / Marduk

    Bob / Julia

    Hwoarang

    Steve Fox

    Yoshimitsu [in Tekken 3 attire!]

    Raven

    Cameo:

Cole [inFamous Series | PS3/Vita Exclusive]

    Very likely:

Cody [showed up in the Comicon trailer]

Guy [showed up in the Comicon trailer]

Lili [showed up in the E3 trailer]

Asuka [showed up in the E3 trailer]

Paul [Dude is loved by Capcom]

    Deconfirmed:

    Dan [Dead]

    Anna [Nina is already in]

  7. Yeah, out of all the announcements made for it so far, the add/remove nations and leagues at any time is the one I'm most hyped up for. Not exactly sure what I would use it for outside of cutting out nations if I overload a Journeyman game, but still, the addition sounds nice, and could help some save files last even longer. Somehow.

Hopefully the teams won't be stuck with fake players in the lesser teams that they get generated if you don't start with the nation though. That would be a major annoyance.

  8. RAW 2's name system was great, bar the fact most of the names sounded really awkward, because of the fact half of the names and words were shouted and the others were just spoken. Led to names like "THE really COOL samuRAI". If they can keep it to one tone I'm completely fine with it returning.

  9. Yeah, people calling "killsteal" over every little thing does really annoy me. I mean, there are occasions where somebody will run in, kill the enemy and steal your gold after doing nothing for the rest of the teamfight, but what's done is done, no point complaining about it, and that way two people get the gold and it's a confirmed kill, it's really a win-win. I try to apologize if I do that anyway, just in case I run into somebody like that. Also a good way of finding out who is cool and who to /ignore. As for MIA, I call it when I can (or do the double ping), but battles happen all the time, and really, if an enemy has vanished off the minimap you should prepare yourself for escape regardless. I don't get why people don't realize that.

Most of my games last around an hour. Makes it really annoying having bad net which makes me disconnect completely at random. I still managed to reach level 30 though, months later.

  10. Not entirely sure who Orianna is, going from the ball comment I guess she's the robot they've added but I've never seen her before. I have Rumble (somehow) and he's generally fun, and Rammus is probably the best tank in the game at the moment. And yeah, AP users I generally find difficult to build as well, and once I'm use to one, it's hard to use another. I've found just using the same one for all of them works though. At least, for a low ELO player like myself anyway. :shifty:

I don't really have a "true main" in the game. I'm generally stuck as Shen most of the time due to my team refusing to pick a tank (I'm fine with it though, I have a Shen skin and he's generally badass anyway), but I enjoy playing as a lot of characters. My first main was Twisted Fate, trying to pick him up again. Apparently he's a lot better now but his teleport is being bashed into oblivion, so that's a shame.

And yeah, Xin is just all kinds of BS. 9/10, the team with Xin, wins. The 1/10 is on the very odd occassion that you're playing somebody who just bought him and has no idea what they're doing as him. He needs some serious fixing.

  11. Going from EVO alone, I'd say Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is on top right now, followed by Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Still though, details, details, it's his list. Interested to see where he's goes with it. Any list with Tekken 2 is great in my eyes.

EDIT: Let me rephrase that, any list praising Tekken 2 is great in my eyes.

  12. I use to play this all the time, was in the Beta (although I had forgot that account and now on an Account I made in December 09 or so. Meaning no King Rammus). Haven't really played a game since the tree guy came out though, as I actually spent money on him and a skin, turns out I'm terrible as him and I haven't played since. Just from a quick look through, the game has majorly changed with items and new champions, and there's a new game mode coming which looks fun.

My ID in game is Stardy vas DK3, if anybody wants to add me.

  13. I'm pretty sure people are only going off about it because people who paid 1200 points for the season pass are now getting a character that they probably don't want. Somebody mentioned that if it was just a Freddy type character but in the form of some ninja, people would be all over it. And they would, because it would be "an exciting new character in the series that they could use in future games". But nope, because it's a famous character from a line of movies who looks incredibly well added (even though it's the reboot Freddy), it's clearly killing the series again.

I can see why they would hate on it, because the other DLC characters have actually been from the series and added something to the story (slightly), and having a guest character at this point seems off, especially in a reboot of the series. But, it's Freddy. You really can't go wrong with Freddy. And he looks fun as hell. And if the rumoured Season 2 of DLC featuring Jason actually happens, then everything is going to get incredibly awesome very fast.

  14. I feel bad for the people that paid 60 for the first game then..unless there is a huge difference in someway.

Just to compare, the Jill and Shuma DLC costs $5 each in the original game (so $10 for two characters), then an extra dollar for every event you get which is one of the few modes in the original game, with there being around... fifteen events, maybe? In this you're getting 12 characters, new modes and additions, specator mode, eight new stages (another problem with the original, it only had around eight to begin with), better online hosting and apparently improved gameplay altogether, with balance changes and move fixes for $40. Would rather pay that for a disc than everything seperately in the form of DLC for what would probably total up to more and rape my harddrive space.

Capcoms done it before so many times with so many other games, I don't care anymore and just want the upgraded version of one of my favourite games of the year thus far.

... I think I'm just convincing myself "Hey, I wasn't ripped off in the slightest.", reading back, but eh, I don't mind that much. Spent $60 on MVC3, played it for a solid few months, so I guess it was worth it.

  15. Debut trailer, featuring four of the twelve characters.

The other eight have leaked already:

Doctor Strange, Frank West, Iron Fist, Nemesis, Nova, Phoenix Wright, Rocket Raccoon and Vergil

  16. A quick google says that it's 6 gigs for the game, and 2 gigs more if you get the GOTY edition with all the DLC.

Can't back that up as I don't have it, but it sounds accurate.

A friend gifted me Mass Effect 2. Downloading it right now. Probably my favourite Xbox 360 game, so hopefully the PC version is just as grand.

  17. Note: Blind Rage has a loyalty to Retail Dragon but he is not listed as training under him on his cage match profile or wikipedia entry. I would not mind if there is a source for this, then I will not complain about it but yeah.

The loyalty isn't there for training him, just because they're good friends apparently. Talked to him a while back over MySpace, it was end of 08/start of 09.

Can't remember exactly what he said, but it was essentially Blind Rage helping him out when he broke into the business, and them bonding about a Virgil card Retail gave him back in 2002. I'll try and find it.

EDIT: Found it. The typos and whatnot was because he replied via phone rather than regular internet for some reason. Whatever, either way, direct quote:

Actually i should say first let me say me and blind rage bonded a bit before this match because i asked him if he still had the virgil trading card that i had given him when i was a fan at the first ever chikara show with the cm punk, cabanna, and hero vs quack, reckless, and montaya main event. And he actually still had it in his wrestling bag and was like yeah i carry it everywhere. So he seriously had that card in his gear bag for like at least three years. So we bonded majorly there.

Really tempted to get the DOOM deal. Every DOOM ever for £5? Yes please.

EDIT: Ended up getting Serious Sam: Gold Edition instead. Not entirely sure why, but I did.

EDIT AGAIN: Serious Sam is pretty fucking awesome, must say. Jumped back a number of times during the campaign, spent an hour trying to get a rocket launcher before finding a teleporter, and overall it's been really fun so far.

  19. Not sure if we should continue the summer sale here or not. I guess continuing in a big Steam thread would make more sense.

Todays deals went up, and then taken back down again for some reason. They're back up again now with no changes whatsoever.

Nothing really that interesting. Most notable were Modern Warfare 2 and Assassins Creed Brotherhood for £15 each, and a sale on Dragon Age games.

EDIT: The Dragon Age sale is £25 for Origins, the Origins expansion and II. £8.50 for just Origins and expansion, and £18 for 2.
