  1. My friend made the observation that Dan Henderson looks like Randy Orton with down syndrome.

Thought I would add to the discussion.

EDIT: And to add to what Biggz is saying, Akiyama was in a pretty bad way, Belcher should have just finished him off and not left it up to the judges.

  2. Just got this a few days ago, and have been checking out EA's guide they have online at their web site.

Are there any tricks that are actually useful in a game (IE not too hard to pull off and still effective)? They have all the different ones you can do listed out and I was just overwhelmed by the sheer amount of them...

  3. As a Titans fan I can honestly say I was a big McNair fan. He's probably in the list for my top ten favorite athletes of all time. Just loved the way he went about his business, never whined or bitched or moaned or cried for attention like so many big players in the NFL do these days, and did most of this while being injured pretty much his entire career.

    RIP

EDIT: And it wasn't confirmed to be McNair's wife. ESPN's Chris Mortensen actually confirmed it to NOT be his wife.

  4. That's another thing I was going to ask...in the Premiership, how often do players get reshuffle to new teams? I have no concept of how frequent transfers are, it would be nice if someone could compare them in relation to say, the NBA.

They don't 'shuffle' and there is no such thing as a draft.

Clubs sign players as any company would sign employees. Players often sign multi-year contracts, which can be sold to other clubs, allowing the bidding club to sign that player for their own team.

At the end of a contract, players are not obligated to renew their contract and can simply walk free from their club, and be signed to another. This is known as a 'Bosman' transfer, named after a player who took his case to European Union court.

I didn't mean literally "reshuffle"...lol. And I'm not new to sports in general, far from it. The contract process isn't really different here :P

But I appreciate the info, thank you very much :)

And next comes figuring out to do all the nifty shit on FIFA properly :shifty:

  5. Assuming you're going to want to watch as much of the team as possible, do you have Fox Soccer Channel or ESPN? In the States, IIRC, Gol doesn't show and you haven't got any of the others.

ESPN yeah, but I'll have ESPN360 when I'm at school, and I move back in right around the time the season starts. Does anyone know if they show premiership games on espn360?

  6. So I'm starting to get more into soccer (I know it's football to pretty much all of the people who will reply to this :P), and with that I've decided I'm going to follow the Premiership league. Thus, I need a team to root for.

I am looking for a team that is not TOO dominant (Man U, for instance) but certainly not a team that has a good chance of being demoted after this season, either. I'd like a middle of the pack team, preferably one with some exciting young players and good management. Having a solid player from the US National Team would also be nice.

    So any suggestions...?

  7. Okay, so I've got some 360 games I'd like to sell back. Traditionally I've gone to the local game store and just traded in for credit, fully knowing how shitty of credit I'd get in exchange for my games. It seems much more lucrative to sell these games back a different way, and I was trying to figure out the best way to do it. I pretty much narrowed it down to Amazon and Ebay. Craigslist seems out of the question to me because its lack of "officialness" kind of scares me if the deal was to go wrong and I got screwed somehow, but if you know this isn't the case, speak up. And I'm still completely open to hearing about any other sites/ideas =)

So does anyone have any experience selling their used games on Ebay or Amazon? I've heard the fees you have to pay on Ebay can really bite you in the ass.

And any advice on selling my games individually or as a big bundle? It seems you would make more money off of selling them individually, but I'm assuming the separate shipping charges would cancel it out?

    Thanks :)

  8. Disappointing result after how excited I was with the way the game started, but good showing in the tournament for the most part. Now what remains to be seen is if we will continue to remain a mediocre team or if we will actually use this to propel us forwards. It will be a HUGE disappointment if they don't get out of the group stage next summer.

  9. Man, woc, those names bring back memories of some of my favorite playoff series of all time. Knicks/Heat. Just wars. Charles Oakley was my man.

As someone who isn't a fan of either of those teams, those series were great to watch...although my most prominent memory is Van Gundy latching onto Zo's leg.

  10. If Cleveland's bigs employed the Hack-A-Dwight, the Cavs would have been swept because they would have been out of big men by the 3rd quarter. Can you imagine Ben Wallace trying to guard him for half a game, or whatever scrub comes off of the bench as their 4th big?

At least Ben Wallace did a better job than Z did most of the time. But that is a good point, LA's front line is obviously much deeper and makes Cleveland's look even worse than it already it is.

EDIT: I stand by my original prediction of LA in six, but no way Orlando gets swept. They are good for at least one win because of a hot shooting night.
