Great game last night and im English and was supporting Barca mainly because i dont like seeing Chelsea win things as they have basically bought the league already , Although i think Jose Mourinho is one of the better characters in the premiership in recent years i cant stand the way you look at their side and see £30m price tags on players when Chelsea havent earned the money through revenue or success but because of Mr Abramovic's money . I wont support Arsenal in the Champs League either because of different reasons .

IMO the Del Horno sending off was understandable because from where the ref was standing he must have only saw Del Horno go in high on Leo Messi and the aftermath of him rolling around in "agony" but Barca could have had 2 penalties as well so its evened out (Geremi Handball and when Terry flatened Messi)

I traveled for 15 hours , payed £51 and Mr "England Superstar" , Mr £30,000 a week , "The Next Hoddle" Carrick was fucking appauling as usual , No will to win the ball and if by a miricle the ball was won he gave it straight away again ! . I hope people realise unless Carrick plays with a bit of pride and passion (which ive never seen him do) he wont be in the England squad , Even though according to Martin Jol the sun shines out of his arse because he can do 1 or 2 great passes a game , which Jenas , Murphy , Davids , Tainio can all do . When Carrick plays we may aswell play 5 at the back because all he seems to doo is jog up and down and occasionally shut a few players down leaving us with no shape in midfield as we have Lennon wide left , Davids inside somewhere trying to cover 2 central positions and Jenas floating around . Why does Carrick play ? Because he played Average last year against Charlton when we lost 3-2 in Jols first game , Whats he done since ? Sweet FA .

And when you have Edgar Davids in your team who basically made the position Carrick is playing famous why would you play a walking trophy cabnet on the left hand side ?

I must say i thought apart from 2/3 world class pieces of play Micheal Carrick was VERY average but Defoe on the other hand was awesome considering he was one of the smallest guys on the pitch playing up front by himself with Keano dropping deep to get the ball , Defoes ability to hold up the ball yesterday was amazing and his control before he took on the Charlton full back was second to none looked liked a Edgar Davids type of control .

Im keeping an open mind on Murphy . I want him to change my opinion but he has alot to do . We almost signed him and said "I wont play every week so im not joining" well fuck off then .

The first ive heard of the Murphy deal was on here so i dunno how reliable the sources are and so on but when we didnt sign him before he said it was because we wouldnt garuntee him a 1st team place . i dont see him playing every week if he was to join now

Counting down to the Arsenal game is the worst thing we could possibly do . Arsenal havent performed against the smaller teams maybe because they are thinking about Madrid . Were in the position that beating the smaller teams will put lest emphasis on the Arsenal game , however big it is .

Im hoping our money does go for signing Mido because we have signed players that rarely make an impact (Mills , El Hamdoui , Davis , Pamarot) and occasionally never make it into the first team set up (Limbersky , Hilmfreison (sp?) , Silva Sousa) . So we know what were getting with Mido

Problem is if Mido signs and we stick with the Keano/Mido partnership is Defoe gonna wanna sit around and wait for Keane to get injured ? I dont think so.

Personally I'm just hoping that Liverpool beat United later. If they can take second and heap more woe on Alex Ferguson's team they might start to slide down the table, giving us a chance to steal third.

Interesting that Jol went with Defoe and Keane up front. Though I thought that Rasiak's performance against Leicester was regretably woeful. Wonder if he'll stick with it.

Did see that Steffan Iverson was available on a free transfer, and attracting some Premiership interest. I'd love to see him back at the Lane (if only for a short time as cover for Mido). IMO he'd be far more reliable than Rasiak, being a proven scorer in the Prem.
