  1. Gotta agree with Eddie. I know Cormier and Jones have legitimate beef and everything but Jones schooled him in the first fight, don't see why it would be any different second time around. Same applies to most Jones rematches. Only person exempt to this is probably Gustafsson but his stock has dropped since the first match.

I'd honestly rather see Bader get a shot over Gus as others have said. At least it's a fresh face in the title picture and it gives Gus an opportunity to get a much-needed win in another match (probably Rashad?). Thinking about it, the LHW division really not as interesting as it used to be. :/

  2. It was like a £50 difference for me so I just went with the older 3DS and I don't see enough of a difference (mate of mine's got the new one) to warrant the extra money. As pizza says, depends on the price difference for you. Get Fire Emblem as well as Pokémon though!

  3. I wish instead of a shitty sequel focusing on Yuna, FFX-2 was a prequel focusing on Braska's pilgramige. That would've been awesome.

I remember wishing they would set a game in Spira 1000 years before around the time Sin was created - exploring machina-filled Zanarkand and playing as the Zanarkand Abes would be awesome.

  4. Maybe not, but it gives Hodgson a chance to see what he's like training with squad, see what he's like. Doesn't mean he's definitely going to play.

Would rather him do this with someone along the lines of Callum Wilson or Troy Deeney if Roy's going to pick an untested striker. Both younger, both going to be getting Premiership football next season - get them in the squad, let them train with established premier league players, get a feel for how they play.

  5. That Euro 2004 central defender set is ludicrously good, I think it'll be a very long time if ever before they produce anything near that level.

If it weren't for his injuries, I think Jonathon Woodgate would have been close to that group too.

  6. Man, we really need some good centre halves. Cahill, Jagielka, Jones and Smalling? The former two have gone downhill in the last couple of years and we're always acceptable at best, the latter two are just never going to be good enough to play international football at a decent level. It seems really weird that we're not producing world class centre backs any more, that's the one place we never used to have a problem.

Think Callum Chambers and John Stones could both turn out to be ideal replacements for Cahill and Jags in the coming years.

I agree with you about Jones and Smalling though, as much as I love me some Phil Jones. Smalling's improving, especially in the big games, but they're both too error prone for international level.

I know he's been playing well recently and a few strikers are injured but can't believe Vardy's getting a call-up. There's no-one else over the age of 21 who could play?

Lallana and Townsend over Young is a piss-take too.

EDIT: Only other English centre-back I can think of playing regularly for a top-10 team not called John Terry is Ryan Shawcross and that's not going to happen.

  7. 1. If You Wait by London Grammar.

    2. This Is All Yours by Alt-J

    3. So Long, See You Tomorrow by Bombay Bicycle Club

    4. For All My Sisters by The Cribs

    5. Cheeky For A Reason by The View ( :shifty: Fucking random numbers)

Loving London Grammar's album, lot of great songs on there. Quality drops in the middle but rises again from the Disclosure collaboration onwards. They've got a great ear for a cover ("Nightcall" and "Wicked Game") and I've got so much love for the lead singer's voice, great range. Favourite songs are "Strong", "Wasting My Younger Years" and "Help Me Lose My Mind".

Only real highlight to me of Alt-J was "Every Other Freckle". Rest just sounded like a band trying to create a movie score while showing off how many exotic instruments they owned, music which fades into the background.

Cannot remember a goodamn thing about Bombay Bicycle Club, just passed straight over me. Only thought I remember having was that Two Door Cinema Club are definitely the better club.

Only song that stood out to me on For all My Sisters was "City Storms". Everything else reminds me of crappy indie I would have been into in 2004/2005 but now just sounds dated. Doesn't help I've never been a fan of the lead singer's voice, kinda grating.

With the View, it's all quite pleasant for the most part but it all sounds so familiar. Sometimes the vocals have that lilting quality Amy McDonald has. "Hole in the Bed" is a proper ripoff of the Fratellis. There's Pigeon Detectives-style shouted backing vocals on every track. Most tracks end with pounding drums and one line being repeated again and again. "Lean On My World" was nice though.

    Next 10:

    6) Streets In The Sky by The Enemy
    7) Too Much Information by Maximo Park
    8) Slipway Fires by Razorlight
    9) We Met At Sea by Pigeon Detectives
    10) Education, Education, Education & War by Kaiser Chiefs
    11) Sequel to the Prequel by Babyshambles
    12) The Subways by The Subways
    13) Wicked Nature by The Vines
    14) Comedown Machine by The Strokes
    15) Mosquito by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
All praise the Vines for breaking the British indie cycle I was stuck in!
  8. I have quite a few kid movie guilty pleasures. I love Planes, How To Train Your Dragon, Flushed Away, and Cars (and Cars 2).

Flushed Away is definitely on my kids movie guilty pleasure list. Kiki's Delivery Service, Swan Princess and All Dogs Go To Heaven are in there too, all of them hold up. Plus Swan Princess has John Cleese as a frog with a French accent, what's not to love?

  9. So yeah, I'm late to this particular party but my new boss is completely fine with me listening to music while I work (at least he hasn't said anything yet) so I'm going to mercilessly sap my company's bandwidth by listening to as many albums possible on Spotify.

And with it being Spotify, what I'm going to do is listen to an album, go to related artists and use a random number generator to select the next artist I'm going to listen to. UNPREDICTABLE!

So my first five will be (and yes, I know they're not from this year but I haven't listened to any of these):

    1. If You Wait by London Grammar.

    2. This Is All Yours by Alt-J

    3. So Long, See You Tomorrow by Bombay Bicycle Club

    4. For All My Sisters by The Cribs

    5. Cheeky For A Reason by The View ( :shifty: Fucking random numbers)

  10. Don't think Howard or Reina ever wore the number 1, did they? But I've got no idea who the reserve keepers would be, bit early for the likes of Jones and Robles.

Wild guess, is it someone like Scott Carson at Liverpool? Only ex-Everton keepers I can think of are Nigel Martyn and Myhre and I think those are a little bit before this time :P
