As Smackdown comes on the air we get the usual banter between Michael Cole and Tazz, they talk a little about tonight’s event as well as the upcoming pay per views this month, Blaze of Glory and Night of Champions. Diamond Dallas Page’s music then hits and DDP makes his way down to the ring where he talks about what took place next week and states that since Kronik cheated their way out of the ass kicking that they truly deserved then Paul Heyman would not be returned just yet. DDP then called out Sean O’Haire and Sarah Stock who made their way down to the ring together coming face to face with Diamond Dallas Page. DDP said that he knew that going into Night of Champions Sean would want to have Paul on his side to help him achieve his goal of being the greatest champion in the world, so DDP was going to give him Paul back at Blaze of Glory so long as several requests where granted. Firstly Kronik would be facing DDP and Rhyno in an elimination tag team match, secondly Sean O’Haire would be defending his World Heavyweight Title against Chris Benoit and lastly tonight Sean would be defending his United States title. However Theodore Long’s music hit and the General Manager of Smackdown came down to the ring, Teddy told DDP that Paul Heyman would be returned at Blaze of Glory no matter what but he liked the idea of DDP/Rhyno taking on Kronik in an elimination tag match as well as Sean O’Haire defending the title against Chris Benoit being that Chris was screwed out of the US title a while back. Teddy said that tonight Sean O’Haire would be defending the United States title against his 2 opponents for Blaze of Glory, Johnny the Bull and Chris Benoit in a triple threat match. Not only that but DDP and Rhyno would have a tag team title shot, as would Kronik and 3 other teams in an elimination tag team match here tonight.

Matt Hardy made his way to the ring for the opening bout of the evening and he would be taking on ‘Captain Charisma’ Christian in singles competition. Both men battled back and forth in a highly rated match but once again Christian was caught out by his former friend Test who delivered a big boot unseen by the referee after Kidman had come to Christian’s aid when Matt attempted to bring a chair into the ring. However this only succeeded in distracting the referee, Test struck and Matt got the victory. Following the match Matt Hardy and Test assaulted Billy Kidman and Christian together before heading backstage.

It was now time for what proved to be the match of the night and one of the best matches in the history of Smackdown as Big Vito and Nunzio where putting the tag team titles on the line against 5 other teams. The champions started out against the team that they lost to disqualification to last week, Buff Bagwell and Chris Kanyon but once again Big Vito used the tag team title belt hitting Kanyon with the gold and making the cover for the elimination. MNM’s music then hits and Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro made their way down to the ring where they struck quickly but Nunzio rolled up Joey Mercury for the elimination. Big Vito and Nunzio had now gone through 2 teams but it was crunch time as Diamond Dallas Page and Rhyno made their entrance to the ring and not only defeated Big Vito and Nunzio but made a statement with a punishing Gore and Diamond Cutter combination for a double pinfall. We were guaranteed new tag team champions and at this point Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio, 2 time champions made their way to the ring and fought with DDP and Rhyno for near 10 minutes before DDP countered the 619 into a devastating tornado powerbomb and got the elimination. We where down to the last entrants and we knew who they where, Brian Adams and Bryan Clark stormed the ring and all hell broke loose between these 2 teams, it didn’t take long before Kronik was dominating the match but a mistake by Bryan Clark caught Brian Adams with a big boot and DDP clotheslined Clark from the ring. Rhyno set up Brian Adams and delivered The Gore for the elimination. DDP and Rhyno successfully captured the WWE Tag Team titles and defeated their Blaze of Glory opponents in the process.

Backstage Ron Killings cut a promo and did a little rap about his opponent Sonny Siaki, a man that he held the tag titles with before a bloody feud between the 2 began. Killings rapped about how the feud between these 2 men would never end before Mark Shade appeared. Mark Shade told Ron Killings that he was hanging onto his feud with Sonny Siaki because he couldn’t cut it without Siaki. Ron Killings had done nothing since his split from Siaki where as Sonny Siaki has become one of the greatest champions and superstars in WWE history. Ron Killings asked Mark Shade what he has done and then walked off for his match. Sonny Siaki and Ron Killings as usual had a brilliant match and as the match hit the 20 minute mark both superstars where down as a result of a double clothesline, all hell broke loose as Mark Shade, Paul Burchill and Shane Helms hit the ring ending with a double disqualification. All 5 superstars fought it out all with the desire to become Red Bull Champion someday soon. Theodore Long came out to the stage and announced that since all 5 superstars wanted the championship, at Blaze of Glory we would see a 10 man battle royal for the gold and all of the superstars in the ring would be entered.

Backstage The Dark Prodigy are seen, Satan demands that tonight Devon Storm and Vampiro do not let him down and says that what happened on Velocity was a result of nothing but a plan to make The Undertaker think he could beat him and that come Blaze of Glory, The Undertaker would finally be laid to rest and return to hell with them. Satan left but Devon Storm and Vampiro had a look on their face as if to ask who Satan was kidding. The Dark Prodigy made their way to the ring for the 3 on 2 handicap match against Batista and The Undertaker. Satan was the only one that could do anything for his team as the 2 much larger men dominated the former tag team champions. However Satan and The Undertaker broke down into a brawl which spread to the back. Batista planted both Devon Storm and Vampiro with a spinebuster and Batista Bomb combination for the victory. Following the match we headed backstage where The Undertaker and Satan had brawled to the back and dressing room area. The Undertaker ducked a lariat and through Satan through a door into a room which when we saw was prayer room decorated with a shrine to god. Satan screamed in agony as The Undertaker slammed the door closed and walked away.

Chris Benoit and Johnny the Bull spoke backstage about their match with Sean O’Haire and made a pact that no matter what Sean O’Haire was not allowed to walk out as United States champion and that the winner between them would grant the other a title shot next week. Both men then made their separate entrances to the ring where Sean O’Haire soon joined them putting his United States title on the line. Johnny and Benoit double teamed the double champion and after knocking him from the ring took on each other allowing Sean O’Haire valuable time to recover. The United States World Heavyweight Champion re-entered the ring and got involved in the mix and the match had officially became a triple threat match. The match lasted 15 minutes as Sean O’Haire delivered The Prophecy on Chris Benoit but as he made the cover Johnny came off the top delivering his signature leg drop on Sean O’Haire breaking the pin. Sean O’Haire staggered to his feet where Johnny delivered The Mamaluke DDT and followed up with the pin for the 3 count. Johnny celebrated his first title victory since coming to the WWE. Smackdown went off the air as Johnny and Benoit shook hands before watching Sean O’Haire struggle up the ramp with his World Title.

    Match Results

    - Matt Hardy defeated Christian - 81.5%

    - DDP & Rhyno defeated Kronik, Bagwell/Kanyon, Vito/Nunzio, MNM, Chavo/Rey for the WWE Tag Titles - 91.7%

    - Ron Killings defeated Sonny Siaki by DQ - 86.8%

    - Batista & Undertaker defeat The Dark Prodigy - 74.6%

    - Johnny the Bull defeated Chris Benoit & Sean O’Haire for the United States Title - 82.4%

    Show Notes

    - Theodore Long taking some ideas from DDP and booking Sean O’Haire into his title defences may be the start of the downfall of A Lesson in Violence

    - Having Siaki retain the title before having a battle royal booked makes it seem like more and more superstars want to dethrone the Red Bull Champion

    - The Undertaker didn’t lay out Satan this week but instead played serious mind games with him by locking him in a prayer room.

    - The Tag Title match was originally going to be made as a result of Kronik threatening Theodore Long and having DDP/Rhyno thrown into the match for a triple threat but this was much better.

-Johnny was going to win the US title at Blaze of Glory but having him win it before that may signal that Sean O’Haire could lose the World Title at the pay per view instead.

Velocity opens with the usual banter between the 2 announcers for the Saturday night show, Josh Matthews and Hugh Morrus, they talk about the action that we seen on Smackdown as well as the potential matches that could take place at Blaze of Glory and their outcome on the Night of Champions pay per view a week after that. Paul Burchill’s music hits and the former Red Bull champion makes his way down to the ring having been out with an injury for some time now, Burchill enters the ring and grabs the microphone, Burchill talks about how he was one of the second Red Bull champion in history and since Kid Romeo did not have the balls to challenge Sonny Siaki to a match for the title, then he would do it instead. Burchill said that Sonny Siaki has been champion for months now and nobody has been able to mount a real serious challenge but that would change because he wanted back into the title picture and a match at Blaze of Glory. Rey Mysterio then made his entrance to the ring where he would team with Burchill to take on Kid Kash and Juventud Guerrera in tag team action. This strong match went back and forth but in the end Burchill delivered The C4 to Kid Kash and picked up the victory.

Following the match the titantron comes alive where we see Christian arrive at the arena, he does not look happy as he storms into the building where Test is scheduled for a match tonight. Ron Killings and Matt Hardy where up next and the fans where looking forward to this match and rightfully so as it was one hell of a show that these 2 superstars put on. The match went back and forth for ten minutes when Sonny Siaki hit the ring followed closely by Billy Kidman, a brawl broke out between Kidman/Hardy and Siaki/Killings and the referee had no hesitation in calling for the bell ending the match without a winner.

Test made his way out to the ring where Stevie Richards was waiting for him. Stevie interviewed Test about his actions in recent week. Firstly Stevie asked Test his reasons for turning on Christian. Test said that Christian brought it on himself but using him, the only reason Christian didn’t leave Team Charisma is because he wanted to ensure that he could capture the World Title first. Stevie then asked what he plans to do now that Team Charisma is no longer together. Test replied by announcing that at Blaze of Glory he would face Christian if Christian had the balls to face a superstar that he held back for so many months. Test said that at Blaze of Glory he would not only prove that he was better than Christian in every way possible but he would end Christian’s hopes of ever becoming World Champion. Scotty 2 Hottie then made his entrance to the ring to face Test in what was a squash match; Scotty entered the ring and walked straight into a big boot. Test then delivered a powerbomb to Scotty for the easy victory in near 10 seconds. As Test celebrated Christian’s music hit and the former member of Team Charisma sprinted down to the ring where he brawled with Test for a while. Christian knocked Test to the outside but as Christian went after him, Test nailed Christian with the ring bell busting him wide open and leaving Test with a smile on his face.

In other action Mark Shade and Chavo Guerrero where in action against one another, both men where hoping that a win might push them a step closer to a title shot of some description. Chavo was the favourite to win this match and he controlled most of the match until Mark Shade delivered an illegal low blow allowing him to apply The Camel Clutch for the submission victory.

No-one knew what the main event was going to be when ‘The Animal’ Batista made his return from an ankle injury and cut a promo announcing that he was back and was going to be better than ever. Batista then made an open challenge to the back but he didn’t expect the challenge to be answered by ‘The Phenom’ The Undertaker who made his way to the ring and brawled with Batista, Batista used some power moves on The Undertaker but the match didn’t last too long as Satan and his minions Vampiro and Devon Storm hit the ring and assaulted The Undertaker leading to the disqualification. However Batista aided The Undertaker and helped take out Devon Storm and Vampiro. Satan fought off both men with relative ease though until The Undertaker hit a clubbing blow from behind. Satan staggered forwards into a spinebuster which definitely hurt The Dark Lord. The Undertaker took his chance and not only delivered a Chokeslam but a Tombstone Piledriver dimming the lights of his would be father. The lights in the arena went out and as they came back on there was no sign of Satan, Devon Storm or Vampiro. The Undertaker and Batista celebrated together as Velocity went off the air.

    Match Results

Rey Mysterio & Paul Burchill defeated Kid Kash & Juventud - 79.8%

Ron Killings draw Matt Hardy - 83.5%

    Test defeated Scotty - 64.3%

Mark Shade defeated Chavo - 80.1%

The Undertaker defeated Batista by DQ - 77.4%

    Show Notes

    - Paul Burchill getting the win for his team might just make him a stronger contender for a shot at Sonny Siaki’s championship.

    - Ron Killings needs a good push as does Matt Hardy and it just didn’t seem right to have either of them lose this match.

    - Test wasn’t ready to do a promo on his own and giving Stevie more publicity never hurts

    - Going into Blaze of Glory, The Undertaker needs some momentum having been the underdog all this time and having him actually manage to take out Satan might just spark doubt in The Dark Lords ability to win Hell in a Cell.

As Smackdown comes on the air, a video comes on the titantron which shows clips from last Sunday’s Summerslam pay per view but the only clips shown are related to Smackdown. Some of the highlights include the 8 man tag team match where Billy Kidman won the match for his team by pinning former tag team partner Matt Hardy. The double count out which occurred between Kronik, DDP and Rhyno during their tag team match, the Inter-promotional tag team match where Triple H and Randy Orton won the match by disqualification, plus the 3 stages of hell match between Booker T & Johnny the Bull which saw Johnny earn himself a United States title shot. And finally the match for the World Title where Sean O’Haire defeated Christian thanks to some interference from Test.

As the clips ended Michael Cole and Tazz run us through some of the events of Summerslam before talking a little about tonight’s card. It didn’t take long though before A Lesson in Violence took to the ring being led by Sarah Stock, a superstar currently taking part in the divas project, she led Sean O’Haire, Brian Adams and Bryan Clark to the ring where she announced that she had been called in to try and negotiate with the criminals that where responsible for the abduction of Paul Heyman, most notably DDP, Rhyno and Christian. Sean O’Haire then took over and called out his arch enemy here on Smackdown, a man that he has had problems with for a long time, Diamond Dallas Page. DDP came out onto the entrance ramp and announced that Paul Heyman would be returned if and only if A Lesson in Violence take part in a few matches tonight. DDP said that Kronik will take on Chris Benoit, Johnny the Bull, Rhyno and himself, Diamond Dallas Page in a 4 on 2 handicap match whilst Sean O’Haire defends his World Heavyweight Title against Christian in a re-match from Summerslam but this time if anyone interferes then the deal is off and Paul Heyman will remain in ‘Quarantine’ and after some consideration all 3 superstars agree and the matches are set for tonight.

In our opening match of the night it was Sonny Siaki that was in action as he defended his Red Bull championship against Shane Helms who was wrestling only his 2nd match since coming to Smackdown but this time instead of losing by disqualification he won by disqualification. Sonny Siaki found himself unable to get the win despite having already connected with The Siakolypse, he then resorted to using a steel chair to crack open the skull of Shane Helms who would win the match but not the title. Following the match Sonny Siaki backed up the ramp only to be assaulted by Ron Killings who beat Sonny Siaki back towards the ring and laid him out with The Scissors Kick. Killing stated that next week he would be challenging for the Red Bull championship and that this time Sonny Siaki would not screw him over.

Shane McMahon addressed the fans from his office, along with his sister Stephanie who was alongside her brother and together they confirmed that the week following Blaze of Glory there would be a Night of Champions pay per view where the champions from Smackdown would face their respected champions from Raw. This would pit the World Champion against the WWE Champion, The United States Champion against the Intercontinental Champion, The Red Bull champion against The European Champion and the WWE Tag Team Champions against the World Heavyweight Champion. The superstar who gets the pinfall in the tag team match will face the winner of the Red Bull/European championship encounter, the same goes with the World/WWE taking on the US/IC championship encounters and finally the winners of those matches will face off to determine who the “Ultimate Champion” is.

The second title match of the night would see Big Vito and Nunzio defending their WWE Tag Team titles against 2 superstars who have not teamed together previously, Buff Bagwell and Chris Kanyon and it looked like we would have new tag team champions as Bagwell and Kanyon controlled most of the match. As the match was drawing to a close Buff Bagwell took down Nunzio with The Blockbuster, the referee was about to count to 3 when he seen Big Vito clock Chris Kanyon with the WWE Tag Team title belt and instead of counting the pinfall he changed his mind and called for the bell ending the match in a disqualification. Buff Bagwell furiously went after Vito who used the title to knock him out before helping Nunzio to the back, they lost the match but remain tag team champions.

Backstage Kid Romeo is seen warming up for his match against Billy Kidman when Christian appears in the dressing room. Christian queries Kid Romeo as to where Test is and then asks if he knows anything about Test’s assault on him last Sunday night at Summerslam. Romeo denies any knowledge that he was aware of what Test was going to do and doesn’t condone what happened but at the end of the day it was between Christian and Test and it would be them that had to sort out their problems. Romeo then wished Christian luck for his match against Sean O’Haire for The World Heavyweight Title. Kid Romeo made his way to the ring where he would take on Billy Kidman and despite a good start to the match by Romeo it was Kidman that came out on top after counting The Last Kiss into The Kid Krusher to get the pinfall. Following the match Matt Hardy came onto the entrance ramp where he congratulated Kidman on getting the win for his team on Sunday night but since Matt was not the legal man when Kidman pinned him, he did not see Kidman as a worthy opponent for him and denied him the chance to face his former partner 1 on 1. Theodore Long then stepped out from the back much to the delight of the fans, The General Manager announced that even though Matt wasn’t the legal man, Kidman’s team won the match and thus at Blaze of Glory Billy Kidman and Matt Hardy would face off in singles competition.

Test is seen backstage with Stevie Richards, Test talked about his motives for attacking Christian at Summerslam and costing him the chance to be World Champion. Test said that Christian brought it on himself and that he had been using Test and Kid Romeo all this time just to get to the top, all Christian had been about since coming to the WWE was being World Champion and that both he and Kid Romeo where just pawns in Christian’s game of becoming World Champion. Test stated that so long as he is around he would never be World Champion. Sean O’Haire appeared and thanked Test for his help on Sunday night before extending an invitation to join A Lesson in Violence. Test said that he had no interest in that group and stated that once he had dealt with Christian, he himself would be coming after The World Championship.

Kronik took to the ring where they were scheduled to face 4 other men in a handicap match and their opponents where no slouches as it was 4 of the top superstars on Smackdown and just like you would have expected Kronik where beaten an inch from their life but a mistake caused Rhyno to hit The Gore on Johnny the Bull thus giving Kronik a short chance as they built a little bit of momentum but knowing that they would not be able to win the match by pinfall decided to break out the heavy artillery and drove Diamond Dallas Page through the announce table with The High Times before wiping out Chris Benoit and Rhyno with steel chairs. Kronik lost the match but the damage had been done to some of their sworn enemies. Following the match Bryan Clark got on the microphone and demanded a WWE Tag Team title shot and if they didn’t get one then every superstar on Smackdown would get the same as these 4 men have tonight.

It was not time for the main event where for the 2nd night within a week Sean O’Haire would be defending The World Heavyweight Title against Christian. This time though no-one would be allowed to get involved but this did not stop the attempt by Test but Christian had it well scouted and sent Sean O’Haire into Test which sent Test from the ring. Christian tried to the roll up but only got a 2 count. Christian tried The Unprettier but Sean O’Haire countered into a northern lights suplex and got the pinfall. The distraction by Test may have cost Christian the World Title again. After the match Test backed up the ramp smiling as Christian stood furious in the ring. Sean O’Haire left the ring with his World Championship as Christian shouted threats at his former friend. Smackdown then came to an end.

    Match Results

    - Shane Helms defeated Sonny Siaki by DQ - 80%

    - Buff & Kanyon defeated Vito & Nunzio via DQ - 75.3%

    - Billy Kidman defeated Kid Romeo - 79.7%

    - Benoit, Johnny, DDP, Rhyno defeated Kronik via DQ - 80.9%

    - Sean O’Haire defeated Christian - 75.6%

  4. Summerslam Review

For the first time since Wrestlemania 22 both the Raw and Smackdown brands came together for one pay per view, Summerslam where 4 matches from each brand and an inter-promotional tag team match where on the card for what would be a truly great event. For the opening match it would the WWE Tag Team champions Big Vito and Nunzio to team with Billy Kidman and The Undertaker to face Matt Hardy, Vampiro, Devon Storm and Satan. In what was a quick and out of control match, in the end it was Billy Kidman that got the pinfall over his former tag team partner Matt Hardy as everyone else battled out on the floor. However please note that though the referee didn’t seem to mind Matt Hardy was not the legal man in the match.

Edge versus Ric Flair was expected to be a classic battle between a legend of wrestling and the future of wrestling but it ended up being nothing more than a way to humiliate Ric Flair when his own son David came out to the ring seemingly to face Edge but David simply acted like Edge was hurting him before tapping out in the Figure 4 Leg Lock. As Edge left the ring, The Nature Boy took to the ring and put a beating on Edge but David levelled his own father with a set of brass knuckles, joining forced with Edge to put a beating on The Nature Boy.

A seemingly endless battle between Kronik and their biggest enemies Diamond Dallas Page and Rhyno was set to be a brutal match and it did not disappoint as both teams battle hard, Bryan Clark looked to maintain his undefeated streak since arriving in the W.W.E and he did exactly that but he didn’t add a win either as in the end both teams could not control their anger any longer and battled to the floor where a double count out took place. Following the match Kronik announced that the war with DDP and Rhyno was not over.

Jonathon Coachman and Rob Conway have been thorns in the side of the Heart Break Kid for a while now and Conway has punished HBK so much that he passed up on the chance to become Intercontinental champion at one point to further hurt his adversary but for this match The Coach had insisted that Rob Conway simply beat Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental title because then he could suspend Shawn Michaels or better yet fire him. Conway took off on Shawn Michaels with a steel chair before the match begin but couldn’t get the win despite the early assault. Conway continued to inflict punishment until the referee was knocked out, this brought out The Coach but Shawn Michaels fought back and delivered the Sweet Chin Music to both men before eventually picking up the victory.

And in a match that would not only determine who would get a United States title shot but would also put a long feud to rest would not disappoint as Johnny the Bull and Booker T took part in a 3 stages of hell match. Firstly it was a street fight in which Johnny the Bull won following the Mamaluke DDT. Johnny had the advantage heading into the cage match but a critical mistake by Johnny seen him crash through the table and give Booker the win. The third and final match would be a Last Man Standing match, with both men battered and bloodied it would not take long to incapacitate one of them, Johnny delivered a picture perfect Moonsault from a ladder out of the ring and onto Booker T through a table. Johnny was amazingly able to pull himself to his feet just in time to win the match.

The Inter-promotional tag team match saw the boss’s husband Triple H team with new Raw superstar Randy Orton to face a new Smackdown superstar Shane Helms and the boss Shane McMahon. In the end it was a Raw victory but it was a disqualification victory as despite the fact it was Triple H who inducted a sledgehammer into the match it was Shane McMahon that clocked his brother in law with it losing the match but sending a hard message to his sister on Raw.

For the first time in history we would see The Big Red Machine Kane battle The Legendary Sting, the match was one of the most anticipated of the evening and it didn’t disappoint with back and forth action with Sting showing great resilience kicking out of Chokeslams and Tombstone Piledrivers before eventually applying The Scorpion Death Lock for the submission victory.

The Smackdown main event saw Sean O’Haire defend his World Heavyweight title against Christian who earlier in the night had a falling out with fellow Team Charisma member Test. Though he seemed to push it to the back of his mind Christian on more than 1 occasion looked to win the match but somehow the champion would recover but as Christian hit a frog splash, Test pulled Christian out of the ring but blocked an attack before re-entering the ring and delivering The Unprettier on Sean O’Haire but the referee was down. Test entered the ring and delivered The Test Drive to Christian but as a final nail in the coffin Sean O’Haire recovered to deliver The Prophecy and retain his title.

Stipulations were made just before the Raw main event in which Mick Foley was defending his WWE Title against Kurt Angle. If Angle won then he would win the title and Mick Foley would retire forever but if Foley won then he would book Kurt Angle’s matches for the next month. The back and forth match saw plenty of action but Angle couldn’t finish off the champion despite numerous attempts and just as a slap in the face it was a roll up that eventually finished off the challenger allowing Foley to retain the WWE Heavyweight title. Following the match Foley celebrated on the ramp but Sean O’Haire attacked from behind levelling Foley with the World Title. Angle then made his way up the entrance ramp where he delivered The Angle Slam to Sean O’Haire. Summerslam ended as Kurt Angle held both the WWE and World Titles high in the air.

    Match Recap

    - Randy Orton & Triple H defeated Shane Helms & Shane McMahon - 87.4%

    - Edge defeated Ric Flair - 85.2%

    - Sting defeated Kane - 84.6%

    Smackdown Preview

With the passing of Summerslam, we are heading towards Smackdown's Blaze of Glory pay per view and if rumours are to be beleived then we are also heading towards the first ever Night Of Champions pay per view but here is the current matches for Smackdown this week.

    - Shane Helms vs. Sonny Siaki in a non-title match

    - Big Vito & Nunzio vs. Buff Bagwell & Chris Kanyon for the WWE Tag Team Titles

    - Billy Kidman vs. Kid Romeo

  5. Summerslam comes on the air as music plays and pyro explodes all around the arena, we head towards the announce table where Jim Ross and Michael Cole are seated.

[Jim Ross] - Ladies and Gentlemen, I am Jim Ross alongside Michael Cole and we welcome you to a Raw and Smackdown production Summerslam! Michael, this arena is jam packed as the fans eagerly anticipate the first event since Wrestlemania in which both brands are under the same roof.

[Michael Cole] - This is going to be an incredible event JR, not only do Raw and Smackdown have matches on tonight’s card but we will also see an inter-promotional tag team match between the two.

[Jim Ross] - That of course will be Triple H and Randy Orton against Shane McMahon and Shane Helms but we have 4 matches from Raw and 4 matches from Smackdown with 3 titles on the line, the Intercontinental, World Heavyweight and WWE Heavyweight Titles.

[Michael Cole] - Our first match of the night will be an 8 man tag team match in which The Dark Prodigy and Matt Hardy take on Billy Kidman, the WWE Tag Team Champions Big Vito and Nunzio and The Undertaker!

The titantron comes to life and we find ourselves backstage with Christian who later tonight will challenge Sean O’Haire for the World Heavyweight title. He is preparing for his match when Test barges into the dressing room and confronts him.

[Test] - You know I am sick of waiting to here your decision or were Romeo and I stand, so its decision time.

[Christian] - Hold up Test, I have a very important match tonight and I don’t want to be distracted from it. DDP and Rhyno may have helped me get Paul Heyman and Kronik out of the equation tonight but that doesn’t mean I can afford to have other things on my mind.

[Test] - I get that but tell me why should Romeo and I stick around and wait for your decision?

[Christian] - Nobody said that you have to wait around on me, Team Charisma can still be Kid Romeo and Test, and I don’t have to give you an answer to stop you being a team.

[Test] - Romeo and I are cool, I know that we have had a couple of problems these past few weeks during matches but the way I see it, that’s your fault!

Christian stands up and comes face to face with Test who stands his ground.

[Christian] - Is that so, well I don’t need to give you an answer, if you want, you can simply walk away!

Christian brushes past Test and leaves the dressing room. The camera turns back to Test who has an evil smile on his face.

[Test] - Oh no, that would be far too easy!

Test smiles evilly as the scene fades to black.

‘Big Vito©, Billy Kidman, Nunzio© & The Undertaker vs. Matt Hardy & The Dark Prodigy’

    ‘8 Man Tag Team Match’

The Dark Prodigy’s music hits and out from the back comes Devon Storm and Vampiro to some good heat; they make their way down to the ring where they pose. The lights in the arena go out and there is a burst of flame, the lights come back on and Satan is standing in the ring with his minions, together they are getting great heat. Matt Hardy’s music then hits and Version 1 makes his way down to the ring to some good heat. Matt enters the ring showing no fear of Satan and poses. Music plays and out from the back comes Big Vito and Nunzio, the WWE Tag Team champions to some good mixed reactions. They make their way down to the ring but remain on the outside. Billy Kidman’s music then hits and Kidman sprints down to the ring and under the bottom rope to meet Matt Hardy and the 2 are brawling heavily. Devon Storm and Vampiro have now begun brawling with Nunzio and Big Vito whilst Satan remains focused on the entrance ramp, wondering if The Undertaker will really appear. There is a loud gong as The Undertaker’s music hits and the dead man comes out from the back to some great crowd pops. The Undertaker stares at Satan as he walks to the ring. Satan looks furious as The Undertaker steps into the ring, they 2 have come face to face and ‘Undertaker’ chants echo throughout the arena. The 2 then begin brawling; currently they are the only 2 out of the 8 men that are in the ring. Satan is getting the better of the Undertaker as he batters him up against the ropes but Taker scores with punches of his own as he holds nothing back against his arch enemy. Satan reverses an Irish whip; Undertaker stops himself using the ropes. Satan charges in but receives a boot to the face. The Undertaker clotheslines Satan a he staggers back from that move. [Ring Announcer] - The winners of this match, Big Vito, Billy Kidman, Nunzio & The Undertaker!

We return to the announce table where Jim Ross and Michael Cole are seated.

[Michael Cole] - What a match JR, this means that Billy Kidman has earned a match against Matt Hardy plus The Undertaker now holds a win over Satan, those 2 will be involved in a Hell in a Cell match at Blaze of Glory next month.

[Jim Ross] - That will be a real slobber knocker, The Undertaker may have never had a challenge quite like Satan but if I know The Undertaker, he will not stay down. It is now time for the first Raw match of the night and it will be Edge taking on Ric Flair.

‘Metalingus’ by Alter Bridge hits and a few moments pass before Edge comes out from the back accompanied by Lita to some good heat from the fans. They make their way down to the ring where they pose. Edge then takes a microphone from the ring announcer.

[Edge] - Cut my damn music! Ric Flair for years you have been going on about how you’re the man, how you’re a 16 time World Heavyweight Champion and how you are and always will be the Nature Boy. Well I’ve got news for you Ric, you not half the man I am, if you were then you would have had the balls to step into the ring with me before tonight but no, you chose to sit at home, nursing an injury you claim to have picked up in your hand. Had you said your back or hip had blown out then I might have believed you, it’s not unusual to have those injuries at your age old man! It’s not hard to be a 16 time World Champion when you’re as old as god but by the time I’m your age Ric, I will have hung up by boots because I will have achieved all I need to and even when I’m your age I will still be The R Rated Superstar. I won’t be a jet flying, limousine riding whatever the hell crap you say you are, I will simply be a man that remembered for his glorious victory over Ric Flair at Summerslam 2006! Now get your old ass down to the ring and prepare to Edge-ecated!

Edge throws down the microphone as Ric Flair’s music hits.

We return to the announce table where Jim Ross and Michael Cole are seated.

[Jim Ross] - This is sick, this is absolutely sick, David Flair screwing over his own father and joining forces with Edge and Lita.

[Michael Cole] - Both Edge and David Flair will live to regret that JR, Ric Flair is a legend and if there is one thing I know it’s that he didn’t win 16 world titles by taking his enemies lightly.

[Jim Ross] - Clearly Ric didn’t take his son to the wood shed enough times when he was a child, how do you deal with your own son turning against you?

We return to the announce table where Jim Ross and Michael Cole are seated.

[Michael Cole] - What a match! Johnny the Bull comes out on top but neither he nor Booker T will ever be the same again after that one.

[Jim Ross] - I don’t think I’ve ever seen a match quite like that, it was a true blood feud and I take my hat off to both superstars and I pray that Booker T is alright.

[Michael Cole] - As do we all JR, up next it will be an inter-promotional match in which Shane McMahon teams with Smackdown’s newest superstar Shane Helms to the face the team of Triple H and Randy Orton who recently moved to Raw.

Shane McMahon’s music hits and the owner of the Smackdown brand comes out from the back along with Shane Helms to some good crowd pops, they make their way down to the ring where Shane McMahon takes a microphone from the ring announcer. There seems to be a definite division in the fans as far as Raw and Smackdown are concerned.

[shane McMahon] - This might be a bit late but … Welcome to WWE Summerslam, this is the first time that both Raw and Smackdown have come together for a pay per view since Wrestlemania this year and back then it was Raw that was still high above Smackdown in ratings. Smackdown was still being buried by the once dominant show known as Raw but things have changed. Smackdown is now the top brand in sports entertainment and as far as I can tell, everybody on this shows roster is happy. Randy Orton was an anomaly that despite his great amounts of talent had no desire to use it for anything except handouts, that is why he went to Raw because Smackdown is a show were each superstar must earn their title shots and earn their right to step into the ring with the top superstars like our WWE Tag Team champions Big Vito and Nunzio, like our Red Bull champion Sonny Siaki, like our United States World Heavyweight Champion Sean O’Haire! However the champions on Raw might feel they are better than the champions on Smackdown so how about next month live on pay per view, between the Raw and Smackdown pay per views, we have a Night of Champions! The Raw champions versus the Smackdown champions plus a very special 10 man elimination tag team match where Raw and Smackdown can compete to determine who has the better brand!

There is a lot of cheering; both sets of fans seem to like the idea as Shane McMahon hands over the microphone to Shane Helms.

[shane Helms] - Tonight for the first time in a very long time, I feel like I am stepping into the ring as an equal. Whilst on Raw I was used as nothing more than a punch bag and no matter how many times I complained I was always told that if I don’t like it I could always walk away. Well Stephanie I have walked away but not from the company but to a place that I feel is my real home, Shane Helms is now on Smackdown and tonight I get the opportunity to finally look into the eyes of your husband and know that I can and will be able to put that dog down and that is going to be the stepping stone of my career!

Shane Helms hands the microphone to the ring announcer and the pair prepare for action.

So as I was saying Mick came to me with a very special request and I have granted him his request. Tonight Mick Foley will defend the WWE Title against Kurt Angle and if he wins then he will not only retain the title but he will win the right to book Kurt Angle into any match of his choice for the next month. Without a doubt Sean O’Haire has been the greatest superstar in wrestling this year, he has accomplished so much, winning the World Heavyweight and The United States titles, he main evented Wrestlemania against Batista and won plus he won the first ever 6 man triple cage match to retain his gold. Now he along with Paul Heyman, Brian Adams and Bryan Clark are taking over Smackdown slowly but surely. Christian earned a championship opportunity defeating Batista, Chris Benoit and John Bradshaw Layfield in a fatal 4 way match. Christian has challenged for the gold before but never in a singles match Whilst you might have thought a stable war would come of this feud, it has no as Christian and Test, 2 out of 3 members of Team Charisma have not been seeing eye to eye since and it is not the first time they have had problems. However Test and Kid Romeo are waiting patiently to find out of Christian will remain in Team Charisma. Christian doesn’t want to be distracted from his game and so has put all of that to the back of his mind for now. Christian, DDP and Rhyno have managed to put up a resistance against their Summerslam opponents who call themselves A Lesson in Violence but having been unable to get a fair fight they had to resort to becoming criminals. Christian was partly responsible for the abduction of Paul Heyman in order to force Sean O’Haire into defending the World Heavyweight title against him at Summerslam in what would now be a fair fight. Will Sean be able to defend the title alone? Will Christian’s problems with Team Charisma distract him? Who will walk out as the World Heavyweight Champion?

    Summerslam-Angle-Foley.jpg

Kurt Angle has not had a great winning streak these past few months but despite this he went after Mick Foley feeling that he was a much better wrestler and that his current form was still better than Foley. As you can imagine Mick did not take too well to this and told Kurt that he used to be a top competitor but now he was simply a ‘has been’. Foley said that he had been called a ‘has been’ but he came back and has been reigning as the WWE Champion since. Kurt challenged Foley to a match at Summerslam in which he would have the chance to get some retribution for his attacks and Foley accepted. However Kurt was unhappy to learn about a number 1 contender’s match as he thought that facing Foley at Summerslam would also put the title on the line, but that was not the case. Kurt became involved in the number 1 contender’s match and wiped out both men with a steel chair. The following week Kurt won a triple threat match with the 2 superstars he had knocked out the previous week but he only won because he once again brought a chair into the ring. Now Kurt has a title match against Foley and it will be an unmissable match to be sure.

    Summerslam-Kronik-DDP-Rhyno.jpg

When Bryan Clark returned to the WWE he got involved in the very first 6 man triple cage match and one of the men who came face to face with was DDP, costing him the chance to become World Champion for a 4th time. Clark and Page had since feuded back and fourth but DDP was unsuccessful in gaining any sort of victory as Clark remains undefeated to this day. At The Great American Bash these 2 men went 1 on 1 in what was the match of the night but it was not without the interference of the returning Brian Adams who helped Bryan Clark not only defeat Diamond Dallas Page but take him out for a short period of time. Rhyno had problems with former ECW owner Paul Heyman and was quick to come to Page’s aid at The Great American Bash but found himself overpowered by the massive team known as Kronik. DDP and Rhyno, Adams and Clark have been involved in several matches against each other but each time they have been unable to contain the fight inside of the ring and have brawled backstage where ambushes have taken place on more than 1 occasion. However in order to get a fair fight out of Kronik at Summerslam, DDP and Rhyno were part of the plot to successfully abduct Paul Heyman. Will Kronik remain undefeated? Will DDP and Rhyno finally get a measure of revenge? Will the ring be able to contain this much hatred?

    Summerslam-inter.jpg

When Stephanie McMahon came to her brother Shane on Smackdown to discus the inter-promotional event known as Summerslam, it came to Shane’s attention that a superstar would be jumping ship from Smackdown to Raw at Summerslam. Shane was so angered by this that he guaranteed Stephanie that he would find someone that was willing to come to Smackdown and that at Summerslam we would see an inter-promotional match between both brands. It became clear later on that night who was jumping ship when Randy Orton delivered a vicious RKO to Shane taking him out for several weeks. However a masked superstar appeared on Smackdown weeks later and assaulted Randy Orton on more than 1 occasion, the assailant was thought to be Shane himself but when Stephanie eventually demanded an answer to who was jumping ship she was surprised when her brother came onto the stage area to join the masked superstar who unveiled himself as Shane Helms formally know as The Hurricane. Neither Randy Orton nor Stephanie McMahon took Shane Helms very seriously but accepted the match for Summerslam. Randy Orton would be taking part in his final Smackdown match and his opponent would be Chris Benoit. Whilst Shane Helms had his final match on Raw against Triple H, Edge and The Big Show, it was simply a hammering. Randy Orton did not fair too well against The Crippler either but in a shocking turn of events Triple H came through the crowd and clocked Benoit with the sledgehammer allowing Randy Orton to get the victory. Following the match Stephanie announced that she was making a change to the Summerslam match and it would be Randy Orton and Triple H against Shane Helms and any other Smackdown superstar. Shane O’Mac announced that he wasn’t going to find someone to team with Shane Helms but in fact he would do it himself!

    Summerslam-EDGEFLAIR.jpg

Edge believes that he is the great champion to ever walk on gods green earth and he was quoted as saying ‘Ric Flair’s 16 reigns as World Champion doesn’t even compare to any reign I have had because Flair only won using politics’ this quote did not go down to well with Ric who had been training his son David down on development along with a few other superstars. Flair showed up on Raw the next week and took to the ring where he laid into Edge and insulted his reigns as a champion, quoting that ‘your title reigns are shorter than your d***’ much to the fans amusement. Edge came out and assaulted Flair and left him bloodied and battered before challenging Flair to a match at Summerslam. Flair did not return to Raw the following week but was in fact at the development camp training the future superstars. Edge then showed up there where he assaulted Ric in front of his own son David Flair who could do nothing but watch as the R Rated Superstar sent a message to his Summerslam opponent.

    Summerslam-KANESTING.jpg

Nobody ever thought they would see this match, the Big Red Machine and The Stinger, in the same ring doing battle, its like something from a horror movie but you can guarantee that when this match does take place it will be off the charts. Sting is a legend all over the world and has come to World Wrestling Entertainment under a year’s contract and he showed up on Raw to save Tajiri from a beating at the hands of The Big Red Machine. Sting would watch Kane’s matches from the rafters each week and every time that he stepped out of line, The Stinger would take to the ring and sort him out. This led to Kane challenging Sting to a match at Summerslam, and Sting had no problems accepting the challenge.

    Summerslam-Booker-JTB.jpg

Perhaps one of the most brutal feuds that has ever taken place, this one goes back to the return edition of Smackdown following the Judgement Day pay per view earlier this year when Booker T and Johnny the Bull paired up to face Ron Killings and Sonny Siaki. In this match Booker got the win over Ron Killings after Sonny Siaki turned on his partner but when JTB celebrated the victory, Booker T felt that he was the only winner of the match and began brawling with his now sworn enemy. These men have taken so many shots at each other that it is almost impossible to list them all but here is simply a quick reminder of what you will have seen. At Survival of the Sickest Johnny the Bull got the biggest win of his career when he defeated Booker T, at The Great American Bash Booker T & Sharmell defeated Christy Hemme and Johnny the Bull. This feud has seen uncontrollable fights with Christy Hemme and Sharmell both suffering injuries due to the feud between the 2 but it was announced by Theodore Long that these 2 men will finally put their differences aside at Summerslam when they face each other in a 3 stages of hell match in a number 1 contenders match for the United States title. Each man got to pick a stipulation for this match, Booker T who grew up on the rough streets of Harlem chose a Street Fight where Johnny the Bull who felt he couldn’t keep Booker T in the ring for long enough chose a steel cage match. Finally in order to determine the final stipulation Christy Hemme and Sharmell would battle for the right to choose the last stipulation. In the end Christy Hemme came out on top and chose a Last Man Standing match, though it may not be required. It was also announced that should Booker T or Johnny the Bull become involved in each others match they would be suspended indefinitely.

    Summerslam-8MANTAG.jpg

Partially due to the fact that there are fewer slots on the card for this event for an individual brand match, this one was compiled as a way to keep these feuds burning brightly. Since Back Into Your System earlier this year, The Undertaker was being troubled by several satanic followers Raven, Vampire Warrior, Vampiro and Devon Storm and was captured and imprisoned for a while until his unexplainable escape took place which would see him go on to dispose of both Raven and Vampire Warrior leaving only Storm and Vampiro. This is were things got very interesting as Satan came to the WWE taking charge of his remaining minions and eventually facing The Undertaker at The Great American Bash where he defeated him in a graveyard buried alive match. However Satan was less than happy to find out about his survival and despite the fact that he has been challenged to a Hell in a Cell match at Blaze of Glory, he maintains hope that The Undertaker will not return. Satan’s minions Devon Storm and Vampiro had been reigning as the WWE Tag Team champions after defeating Kidman and Nunzio for the gold as Survival of the Sickest but recently lost the titles to Big Vito and Nunzio who at The Great American Bash defeated Billy Kidman and Matt Hardy in a number 1 contender’s match. On that same night Matt turned on Kidman after suffering the loss and has been denying Kidman a one on one match against him claiming that he is unworthy. Theodore Long, stepped in and announced that at Summerslam these 8 men would compete in a tag team match. Will The Undertaker return? Will Kidman win a match against Matt Hardy? Will The Dark Prodigy use their supposed dark abilities to win this match?

    Summerslam-ictitle.jpg

Shawn Michaels has been the Intercontinental Champion for a number of months now and on more than 1 occasion has had run-ins with General Manager Jonathon Coachman and on more than 1 occasion he has felt the Sweet Chin Music. This infuriated The Coach who did everything to hurt Michaels and take the title away from him but failure after failure took place until eventually Rob Conway got a victory over Michaels in a tag team match following an assault with the Intercontinental title belt. The Coach was so impressed that he ordered a title match the next week but Conway didn’t try to take the victory and the title, all he wanted to do was hurt Michaels and he continued to do so by driving him through the announce table with a superplex off a ladder. The Coach then asked Conway to face Shawn Michaels again at Summerslam but this time don’t just hurt him but take the Intercontinental title from him as well.

As Smackdown came on the air, we are greeted by the playing of a promotional video for the upcoming cross brand pay per view, Summerslam which is just days away. As the video ends, we find ourselves at the announce table where Michael Cole and Tazz run us through this week’s card. The titantron then comes to life and we find ourselves in the parking lot of the arena where a limousine is currently arriving, a few moments pass when The World Heavyweight and United States champion Sean O’Haire emerges and is greeted by Brian Adams and Bryan Clark who query the whereabouts of Paul Heyman. A Lesson in Violence went in hunt for their mouth piece and fail to notice the three some of Rhyno, Diamond Dallas Page and Christian who force Paul Heyman into the trunk of a car before telling the driver to leave. DDP, Rhyno and Christian have just evened the odds for tonight’s highly anticipated main event.

Our opening match of the evening would pit the home town superstar Matt Hardy against the man that could soon be challenging for the United States title, Johnny the Bull. Before the match began Matt Hardy got on the microphone and told Billy Kidman that at Summerslam, he and his team have no chance of beating him and The Dark Prodigy. Firstly because The Undertaker was past it and wouldn’t dare return to face Satan, secondly because Big Vito and Nunzio could only ever beat him when Kidman was his partner and lastly because no matter how hard Kidman tried, he would never, ever be able to get the better of Matt Hardy. Johnny then came to the ring and faced off with Matt. Matt tried to take control of the match with an attack before the bell but Johnny saw it coming and fought it off taking the match to Matt Hardy in the early goings. Matt would eventually manage a come back and on several occasions looked close to the victory. However Johnny delivered his signature leg drop off the top rope but Matt rolled out of the ring. The referee put the count to Johnny when Booker T and Sharmell came down to the ring. Booker T gave instructions to Sharmell who entered the ring from behind and hit a low blow on Johnny the Bull. Matt made it back into the ring as Johnny was recovering, by then Booker T and Sharmell where on the stage. Matt connected with The Twist of Fate for the victory. Booker T and Sharmell smiled as they watched Johnny the Bull laid out on his back.

Backstage Big Vito and Nunzio where seen before their tag team title defence. Big Vito looked concerned but it was not about having to defend the tag titles, it was about having to team with Billy Kidman at Summerslam, with their history not being of a great nature. Nunzio reassured Big Vito that Billy Kidman had already forgotten their past and was more concerned about Matt Hardy, reminding Vito of what took place at The Great American Bash. Nunzio and Vito then went to the ring for their scheduled WWE Tag Team title match against Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio who have held the tag titles together twice previously. Chavo and Rey were the definite favourites to win this match and they showed off their experience as a tag team by isolating Big Vito. However Nunzio eventually made a blind tag and took off on Chavo and Rey coming close to victory several times. However Devon Storm and Vampiro hit the ring and assaulted both teams armed with steel chairs, the former tag team champions were out to let it be known that they where still in the title picture. The match ended with a double disqualification and thus the titles didn’t change hands but Devon Storm and Vampiro made one hell of an impact here tonight.

Billy Kidman was walking through halls of the arena backstage when Stevie Richards approached him. Richards asked Kidman was his plans where for Matt Hardy. Kidman simply told Stevie that sooner or later every dog has his day and that pay back is a bitch. Kidman was on his way to the ring for his scheduled match against Team Charisma member Test. Test came to the ring with Kid Romeo who distracted Kidman throughout the match whilst Test overpowered Kidman with his size and power. Test dominated Kidman through the match but Kidman countered a powerbomb into a ddt to fight back into the match. The referee was knocked down late in the match but was not out cold, he was simply stunned after taking a hard fall as he dived out of the way of a big boot by Test. Test got hung up on the top rope as Kid Romeo entered the ring armed with a steel chair. Romeo swung the chair at Kidman but he ducked and Test got nailed in the back. Billy Kidman then proceeded to dropkick the chair into the face of Kid Romeo before coming off the top with The Shooting Star Press on Test. The referee had recovered and he made the count giving Kidman the victory. Following the match Test was furious at what had just occurred and left the ring in a rage as Kid Romeo pulled himself up on the ring apron.

Backstage Shane McMahon was in his office with Shane Helms, who recently announced that he was coming to Smackdown. They spoke about the inter-promotional match that will take place at Summerslam and then laughed up the thought of the next match, a match that would be Randy Orton’s final as a Smackdown superstar and what better way to go out that to tap your Smackdown career away in The Crippler Crossface. Randy Orton and Chris Benoit both entered the ring; the fans where cheering for Chris Benoit in this back and fourth contest. Randy Orton countered The Crippler Crossface on more than 1 occasion but Chris Benoit found himself a victory of the RKO. Orton couldn’t get the pin on Benoit though and the match continued. As Randy Orton attempted a second RKO, Chris Benoit countered and managed to lock in The Crippler Crossface. It looked like Randy Orton was about to tap when Stephanie McMahon climbed onto the ring apron distracting the referee. Chris Benoit broke the hold and tried to scare Stephanie away when who should come through the crowd by … Triple H! The King of Kings entered the ring from behind armed with his trusty sledgehammer and cracked Benoit from behind. Randy Orton smiled as he covered Chris Benoit for the victory. Stephanie McMahon, Triple H and Randy Orton stood tall in the ring. Stephanie got on the microphone and announced that she was making a change to the Smackdown vs. Raw match at Summerslam, it would now be a tag team match in which Randy Orton and Triple H would face Shane Helms and a Smackdown superstar. Shane McMahon and Shane Helms came out onto the entrance ramp, neither looked impressed but Shane agreed to the change and said that at Summerslam he would not get another superstar to fight his battles but instead would do it himself when he teams with Shane Helms to face Triple H and Randy Orton.

A Lesson in Violence hadn’t found Paul Heyman and went to the ring to try and get some answers. The United States World Heavyweight Champion got on the microphone and demanded that DDP, Rhyno and Christian show themselves because he knew that they had something to do with Paul’s disappearance. All 3 men came out onto the entrance ramp, DDP was on the microphone and he admitted to abducting the ‘fat piece of shit’ and that he would be fine if A Lesson in Violence can play nice tonight and at Summerslam. A Lesson in Violence snapped and met their opponents in the ring entrance isle where all 6 men brawled all over the arena before eventually making it back to the ring where a referee was there to start the match officially. Kronik were the definite muscle in this match as they overpowered and double teamed their opponents many times but eventually the fan favourites overcame this and took the match to a Lesson in Violence. Sean O’Haire was on the receiving end of The Gore, The Unprettier and finally The Diamond Cutter. However Brian Adams and Bryan Clark refused to let things end this way and after a swift brawl and some hard shots they planted Christian with The High Times and put Sean O’Haire on top for the victory. The match was over but the war wasn’t and once again Rhyno and Diamond Dallas Page brawled with Kronik, however this time was a little different as Rhyno and DDP used anything and everything at their disposal. Rhyno Gored Brian Adams through a table whilst DDP wore out Bryan Clark with the kitchen sink, literally. In the ring Christian and Sean O’Haire fought back to their fought, both attempted and connected with a clothesline. Smackdown went off the air leaving us in wonder as to what we will see at Summerslam.

As Velocity opened this week, we joined Josh Matthews and Hugh Morrus who spoke more about what we saw on Smackdown rather than what we would see tonight. Backstage we found ourselves with Theodore Long who began to interview MNM when Shane McMahon appeared. Shane interrupted and asked MNM to leave before asking Theodore Long what he was doing? Theodore Long simply told Shane that he was doing what he used to as there was no need to run Smackdown now that Shane is back. Shane announced that he couldn’t run this show on his own at the moment and needed help before shaking hands with the man he wanted to do the job, Theodore Long

In our opening match of the evening, it was Mark Shade versus Ron Killings, 2 men who are not strangers to each other. It was last week that Mark Shade hit Ron Killings with the Red Bull title belt allowing Matt Hardy to get the pinfall and win the match for his team. Ron Killings would be out for a little beat of pay back tonight and he took the match to Mark Shade from the moment he entered the ring. The Truth was completely focused as he took off on Mark Shade hitting his signature move in minutes but still found himself unable to get the pinfall. Mark Shade battled back into the match with the use of a low blow and a few German suplexes. Mark Shade eventually applied The Camel Clutch but Killings countered into a pinfall but only got 2. Sonny Siaki appeared at ringside and distracted the referee but Ron Killings was the one who capitalised on the distraction as he ducked a shot to the face with a steel chair and dropkicked it back into the face of Mark Shade. Ron Killings made the cover but Sonny Siaki broke up the pin attempt by driving the title into the back of Ron Killings head leading to the disqualification.

Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio prepared for their match backstage when Theodore Long appeared; he thanked Chavo and Rey for facing Randy Orton in the handicap match a few weeks ago. He also said that he was a man of his word and that this coming week on Smackdown it would be Big Vito and Nunzio defending the WWE Tag Team titles against Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. Chavo and Rey went to the ring for their match in high spirits and it certainly showed as they took on Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro. MNM couldn’t get on track against the former 2 time WWE Tag Team champions and in the end Rey Mysterio hit the drop of the dime to Johnny Nitro for the victory. Chavo and Rey enjoyed their victory celebration, knowing that very soon they could be celebrating yet another tag team title win.

Booker T cut a promo and brought up how Christy Hemme cheated on Smackdown, he insulted but her and Johnny the Bull. Booker said that despite the fact that Christy chose a Last Man Standing match as the third stipulation for the 3 stages of hell match, it wouldn’t matter because he would beat Johnny in both the street fight and the cage match, meaning that the match wouldn’t even be required. Booker mentioned the United States title a few times and how he was a former champion and ready to be champion again. Buff Bagwell then made his way to the ring for the match and unlike his previous run in the WWE when he faced Booker T in what was said to be the worst match of career, it was a lot better this time but the ending still at Booker T as the winner. Buff tried for the Blockbuster but Booker T avoided and easily finished Bagwell off with the Scissors Kick. Both Booker T and Johnny the Bull have been on a role in recent weeks and you might have to flip a coin to decide a winner between the 2 at Summerslam.

Sonny Siaki was scheduled to defend his Red Bull championship and against a former champion too. Paul Burchill returned to the ring after being gone several months with an injury. Sonny Siaki had already cut a promo in which he brought of his past with Ron Killings and how even though he had come out on top all the other times they faced; he still wasn’t done punishing his former tag team partner. Sonny Siaki took a beating in his match against Burchill, the former champion dominated the majority of the match and it looked like he might regain the gold on more than one occasion but sadly for him, Sonny Siaki was able to use a roll up and handful of tights to remain the champion. Burchill looked furious as Siaki quickly exited the ring with his title. As Sonny Siaki backed up the ramp, laughing at Paul Burchill he was assaulted from behind by Ron Killings who through the champion clean off the stage as Velocity came to a close.

    Match Results

    - Ron Killings defeated Mark Shade by disqualification - 80%

    - Chavo Guerrero & Rey Mysterio defeated MNM - 78.1%

    - Booker T defeated Buff Bagwell - 75%

    - Sonny Siaki defeated Paul Burchill - 75.3%

Smackdown opened with a hype video for the upcoming pay per view ‘Summerslam’ which is only 10 days away. The announcers Michael Cole and Tazz then talked a little about what happened on Smackdown last week as well as Velocity. They ran us through the card and hyped up the main event which would pitch Bryan Clark and Sean O’Haire against Christian and Diamond Dallas Page. In the opening match of the evening Test went 1 on 1 with Chris Kanyon. Test was accompanied by Kid Romeo who distracted the referee many times in order to allow Test to use illegal tactics. However Test indivertibly knocked Kid Romeo off the ring apron with the big boot as he aimed for Kanyon. Kanyon capitalised and connected with The Flatliner on Test for the victory.

Backstage Johnny the Bull and Christy Hemme arrived at the building. Stevie Richards was their to greet them and he enquired into Christy’s injury that she suffered at The Great American Bash at the hands of Booker T. Christy announced that she was not at her best but tonight she would do Johnny proud and get some sweet revenge on Booker T by defeating Sharmell and choosing the final stipulation for the 3 stages of hell match at Summerslam. Booker T was seen later on in the night and he tried to motivate Sharmell even more than she was, telling her that it is a must win situation. As the match eventually took place between Christy Hemme and Sharmell, their training in the divas project was shown but it still didn’t convince the crowd too much. In the end Christy Hemme was the victor after a roll up on Sharmell. Christy and Johnny celebrated the win and it was announced that the final stipulation, should it be required will be a last man standing match!

In the first tag team match of the evening it was 6 out of the 8 men that will participate in an 8 man tag team match at Summerslam. Billy Kidman teamed with the WWE Tag Team champions Big Vito and Nunzio to face Matt Hardy, Devon Storm and Vampiro. Matt refused to step into the ring with Kidman from the start to almost the finish. As the match broke down it was Satan that appeared in the ring. Satan laid out Billy Kidman with The Gate to Hell undetected by the referee allowing Matt Hardy to get the pinfall. Following the match Satan destroyed Nunzio and Big Vito too just to show his dominance here in the WWE.

Backstage Brian Adams had been walking through the halls of the building on route for his match when Rhyno attacked from behind. Adams and Rhyno brawled through the building and eventually ended up in the ring where a referee was present to officially start the match. Rhyno had control of the match from the opening bell and even hit The Gore but Brian Adams fell from the ring. Rhyno tried to dish out more punishment for 1 of his Summerslam opponents as he once again set Adams for The Gore, this time on the outside but Adams side stepped and sent Rhyno crashing into the ring steps. Brian Adams rolled back into the ring and Rhyno was counted out less than a second later. Brian Adams went to the outside to further punish Rhyno but Diamond Dallas Page came through the crowd and delivered The Diamond Cutter on Brian Adams before helping Rhyno to the back.

Randy Orton was in action for what will be his second last time as a Smackdown superstar before he officially joins the Raw brand. Orton was in action against Johnny the Bull who earlier in the night celebrated Christy’s win over Sharmell but by the end of this match he was celebrating his own win. However it did not come without the aid of the mystery superstar that cost Randy Orton the match against Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio last week. Stephanie McMahon tried to get involved but only distracted the referee and allowed the mystery superstar to hit a Superkick and get Johnny the victory. Randy Orton recovered and Stephanie joined him in the ring, she accused the mystery star of being her brother Shane McMahon but to her surprise Shane came out from the back and asked the mystery superstar to unveil himself. The man that was turning his back on Raw and joining Smackdown was … Shane Helms! Helms told Stephanie that he was only on Raw as something to feed to the preferred superstars and not to mention any names but your husband was the main superstar. Shane told Orton that he was a fool to leave Smackdown and that come Summerslam when he is officially representing Smackdown and Randy Orton is officially representing Raw, he would prove why Smackdown is the top brand in sports entertainment. Neither Stephanie nor Orton showed Shane Helms a lot of respect and simply laughed at his threats. Randy Orton said that he would come up the ramp and bitch slap Shane Helms and he looked like he would until Shane Helms exploded with a fury of punches followed by a superkick which sent Orton running for cover.

Diamond Dallas Page tended to Rhyno backstage following his match against Brian Adams, Rhyno was clearly hurt after Goring the ring steps but said that he would still be able to make it to Summerslam despite injury to his previously broken neck. DDP then left Rhyno to tend to his own match which was up next, however as he left the dressing room, he was assaulted for the 2nd week running by Bryan Clark and Sean O’Haire who left DDP a bloody and battered mess. Christian had no idea as he went to the ring for the main event, it wasn’t until Clark and O’Haire came out that he realised what had went down and that now he would be facing a handicap match. Christian fought his hardest but found himself overcome by his opponents. However help was on its way as amazingly DDP made it to the ring and took off on Bryan Clark, beating him from the ring and yet again brawling out of sight. Christian and Sean O’Haire did battle and despite the beating Christian had already taken he managed to counter The Prophecy into The Unprettier but The United States World Heavyweight Champion showed his resilience by kicking out. Christian continued to work over Sean O’Haire but as he went up top for a superplex, Sean O’Haire countered and sent Christian crashing to the canvas and delivered The Seanton Bomb for the victory. Smackdown went off the air as Sean O’Haire celebrated his victory, holding both titles in the air.

Some may have noticed that there is a new results format on wwe.com, particularly on the Smackdown brand. Instead of the usual walkthrough of the results, a more compact and shorter recap of the results is being done for both Smackdown and Velocity. However you should expect more in detail results for pay per views.

    ‘Night of Champions’

Several rumours have been going around on the internet about a potential pay per view in which Raw and Smackdown will do battle. In the past we have seen inter-promotional matches but from what we here it could become an annual event though there is a possibility of it taking place every 6 months. The event would feature the champions of both Raw and Smackdown doing battle with The World Champion against the WWE Champion, the Intercontinental Champion against the United States Champion, The Tag Team champions from both brands and the Red Bull and European champions doing battle. Though nothing has been confirmed yet, the WWE are considering heavily.

    The Power 10

1 - Sean O’Haire - Defended the United States title against Buff Bagwell to remain at number 1.

2 - Sonny Siaki - His team scored a massive victory on Velocity, however he will need to defend the Red Bull title if he hopes to stay at number 2.

3 - Kronik - They impressively took down Chris Benoit and Christian on Smackdown and continue to look unstoppable.

4 - Booker T - Defeated Billy Kidman and chose a street fight for Summerslam. Booker moves up 1 spot this week.

5 - Nunzio - Won his 2nd tag team title, this time with Big Vito. Nunzio continues to move up the rankings and this week he is up by 4.

6 - The Dark Prodigy - Storm and Vampiro lost the tag titles but Satan destroyed Paul London. They remain at number 6.

7 - Ron Killings - The Truth lost the match for his team, he moves down 4 places this week.

8 - Christian - Was annihilated at the hands of Kronik, he will need to spring back if he hopes to stay in the top 10 and capture the World Title.

9 - Mark Shade - An impressive tag team victory on Velocity brings him back into the power 10.

10 - Johnny the Bull - Johnny chose a cage match for Summerslam and defeated William Regal to manoeuvre his way back into the power 10.

As Velocity opened we joined the announce team Josh Matthews and Hugh Morrus who hyped up Summerslam, talked a little about what took place on Smackdown and ran us through the card for the night. We then went backstage where the newest backstage interviewer Stevie Richards who caught up with Kid Romeo of Team Charisma. Romeo was asked about his thoughts on the happenings within Team Charisma, firstly about Christian’s yet to be made decision on wither or not he will remain in the group and secondly on Test walking out last week. Romeo said that the problems are between Christian and Test and that he would not take sides but allow them to work out the problems and whatever happens is down to them. Romeo then went on to defeat Chuck Palumbo but it was Test who got involved and hit The Big Boot whilst the referee’s back was turned. Following the match Romeo and Test shared a hug and patched up their friendship.

Johnny the Bull who challenged Booker T to a cage match at Summerslam was also in action when he took on William Regal. Regal managed to lock in the Regal Stretch but Johnny escaped and picked up the victory following The Mamaluke DDT.

Satan who was scheduled to face Paul London came out to the ring and spoke about the match that he had been assigned for at Summerslam; he mentioned how The Undertaker was not back, that he will never come back and that at Summerslam he and his minions would destroy their opponents. Before he could finish what he was saying, a voice boomed over the PA system, it was the voice of The Undertaker. The Undertaker has very little to say but what he did mention was that he would be at Summerslam and following his team’s victory he would select a venue for the final showdown between Satan and himself. Satan was furious that he had underestimated The Undertaker and took out his frustrations on Paul London and Lash Leroux, who accompanied London to the ring. Satan annihilated both men and covered both men by standing on their chests for the victory.

The Main event rolled in next with the team of Diamond Dallas Page, Rhyno and Ron Killings against the team of Mark Shade, Matt Hardy and the reigning Red Bull champion Sonny Siaki. DDP, Rhyno and Killings dominated their opponents for the majority of the match, the only thing that kept their opponents going was the amount of saves during pin attempts. The momentum shifted rapidly when Brian Adams and Bryan Clark, Kronik appear on the scene, DDP and Rhyno met them in the ring entrance isle and the 2 teams that will face off at Summerslam brawled out of sight. Ron Killing was left on his own and looked like he would pick up the victory following the Scissors Kick to Sonny Siaki but Matt Hardy distracted the referee allowing Mark Shade to hit Killings with the Red Bull championship. Sonny Siaki made the cover and picked up the victory for his team. The scene shifted backstage where DDP, Rhyno, Brian Adams and Bryan Clark continued brawling into the parking lot. Sean O’Haire appeared armed with a baseball bat and following 2 shots to the kidneys, A Lesson in Violence bloodied up their enemies as Velocity went off the air.

    Match Results

Satan defeated Paul London w/Lash Leroux - 83.9%

***Trying out this recap method, i might do it for both shows and do big results for P.P.V's or just do this method for Velocity. Not sure yet, let me know what you guys think though. ***

    The Smackdown Recap

Another eventful week on Smackdown, however the show was one of the worst received in recent months and so that must be changed with Velocity this week and Smackdown on the next. Smackdown opened with the announcement that The Undertaker was indeed alive and Theodore Long announced that we would see an 8 man tag team match at Summerslam in which The Dark Prodigy and a mystery partner would face Big Vito, Nunzio and The Undertaker as well as a mystery partner. Big Vito and Nunzio then challenged for the WWE Tag Team titles and Nunzio pinned Vampiro for the second week running and we had new WWE Tag Team champions.

Theodore Long returned to the ring and brought along Booker T and Johnny the Bull. Last week it was announced that these 2 would put their problems to rest at Summerslam in a 3 stages of hell match. Booker T and Johnny both spoke before choosing both a Street Fight and a Cage Match. The third fall will be decided next week when Christy Hemme and Sharmell face off with the winning diva choosing the 3rd and final match should we need it. Also noted was that the winner would be named the number 1 contender for the United States title.

On Velocity Theodore Long requested that Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio face Randy Orton on Smackdown in a handicap match. Should Chavo and Rey win, they would receive a tag team title shot. Randy Orton tried his finest during the match but a mystery superstar assaulted Randy Orton and cost him the match. Who is the mystery man though?

Billy Kidman and Booker T did battle in what was a back and forth contest, in the end Booker T picked up the win though. Matt Hardy appeared moments later and added salt to Kidman’s wounds by insulting him. However Kidman responded by knocking Matt from the ring. Matt may find Kidman unworthy of facing him in singles action but sooner or later it will happen. Both men where added to the 8 man tag team match at Summerslam.

A highly anticipated match in which Brian Adams and Bryan Clark faced off against Chris Benoit and the number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Title Christian did not get responded to like we thought. Kronik continued their winning ways by pinning Chris Benoit following The High Times. Kronik did further damage when they did the same to Christian but it only took seconds for Diamond Dallas Page and Rhyno to appear, they returned for the first time since The Great American Bash and fought with their Summerslam opponents eventually disappearing out of sight.

Sean O’Haire defended the United States title in the main event against Buff Bagwell and although it looked like Buff might get the victory on several occasions it was Sean O’Haire that retained the gold after taking Buff down with a neckbreaker, note that Bagwell suffered a broken neck in the past which allowed Sean O’Haire to hit the Seanton Bomb and retain his title. Smackdown ended leaving us in wonder as to if anyone will ever be able to take away the gold from ‘The Maniacal’ Sean O’Haire!

    Velocity Preview

So we move on to Velocity this week where 4 matches have been announced including a huge main event. The former Red Bull champion Kid Romeo will be in action taking on Chuck Palumbo. Romeo may be distracted by the problems in Team Charisma so Palumbo will be looking to capitalise on this.

Johnny The Bull will also be in action taking on William Regal, Booker T is not allowed to get involved as per the rules of the contract that was signed on Smackdown.

Satan will be unleashing his anger too after news that The Undertaker is still alive and it will be poor Paul London that has to deal with the prince of darkness.

And as said previously we have a huge main event, it will be a 6 man tag team match in which Mark Shade, Matt Hardy and the Red Bull champion Sonny Siaki take on Ron Killings, Rhyno and Diamond Dallas Page! You do not want to miss this folks!

The Smackdown theme song is played and Smackdown comes on the air, pyro shoots off from the ring and entrance ramp, the camera pans around the crowd before coming to rest at the announce table where we join Michael Cole and Tazz.

[Michael Cole] - Welcome to Smackdown, I’m Michael Cole alongside my broadcast partner Tazz. We are just 17 days away from Summerslam which is already looking huge.

[Tazz] - Its going to be brilliant Cole but let’s not talk about Summerslam, its talk about the action that we are going to see tonight because it’s going to be great.

[Michael Cole] - That it is partner; we start off hot tonight as Vampiro and Devon Storm defend the WWE Tag Team titles against Big Vito and Nunzio. And we end the night as Sean O’Haire defends the United States title against Buff Bagwell.

[Tazz] - We start and end with title matches but also we will see Randy Orton taking on Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio in a handicap match. Booker T against Billy Kidman and Kronik take on the team of Chris Benoit and Christian.

    ‘Back From The Dead’

The Dark Prodigy’s music hits and out from the back comes the WWE Tag Team champions Devon Storm and Vampiro to some decent heat. They enter the ring and are showing off their tag titles which they will defend right now. However it doesn’t go down that way at the music stops, the lights come back on and in a blaze of fire and smoke Satan appears in the centre of the ring.

Devon Storm and Vampiro look worried, knowing that Satan is not here to support them in a tag team title match. Satan speaks without the aid of a microphone and it booms over the PA system.

[satan] - What do you think you are doing? I told you to vacate those titles! It looks like I am going to be forced to take them from you myself.

Satan is about to assault his minions when Theodore Long’s music hits and the current manager on Smackdown steps out onto the stage with a microphone in his hand.

[Theodore Long] - Hold on just 1 second playa. This is World Wrestling Entertainment, around here your power is nothing, the power of the WWE rests in the hands of Shane and Stephanie McMahon but right now here on Smackdown, the power is in my hands! So if you put your hands on the tag team champions or anyone without my permission, then I will ensure that you never get another chance at taking out The Undertaker!

[satan] - The Undertaker is dead! Gone! I buried him myself and now these 2 will return to hell with me, away from this place.

[Theodore Long] - There is an old saying that says “if you want something done right, then you have to do it yourself” but it doesn’t apply in this case as I have just had word that The Undertaker is not dead! He is still in this world at he has sent a message to me and I am granting him his request. At Summerslam it will be a 8 man tag team match in which the three of you will team with a partner of my choosing to face The Undertaker, Big Vito and Nunzio plus a partner of my choice! Now get the hell out of my ring because this is Smackdown and the WWE Tag Team titles are now going to be on the line!

Satan looks furious and disappears in a cloud of smoke and fire. Devon Storm and Vampiro are left knowing that they must defend these tag titles at all costs.

    ‘Lightning Has Struck Twice’

Nunzio has for the second time within a week picked up a shock victory over Vampiro and this time he has won the WWE Tag Team titles for both himself and Big Vito. Devon Storm and Vampiro are in shock as they watch Nunzio and Vito celebrate on their way up the ramp with the tag team titles.

    ‘At The Announce Table’

We return to the announce table to rejoin Michael Cole and Tazz.

[Michael Cole] - What a victory for Big Vito and Nunzio! They have finally won the tag team titles together.

[Tazz] - Well Nunzio got a shock victory over Vampiro on Velocity and he did the same tonight, it might not be third time lucky though.

[Michael Cole] - Well Devon Storm and Vampiro have no security anymore but with the news that The Undertaker is back, they won’t need any for a while.

[Tazz] - Well they don’t get another title shot but if Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio can win this next match then they will be getting a tag title shot.

    ‘Contract Signing’

Theodore Long’s music plays and for the 2nd time in the night, the current Manager of Smackdown strolls down to the ring with a clipboard in his hand. A table has been set up in the ring with 2 chairs, one at either side. Theodore Long enters the ring and he takes a microphone before setting the clipboard down on the table.

[Theodore Long] - For several months now, 2 individuals on this brand have been having problems which have led to a series of matches between the two. It has even drawn in 2 divas that have ended up being hurt as a result, this is highly unacceptable and so tonight in this ring, both men will meet for a controlled and gentlemen like confrontation in which they shall sign a contract that will pitch one against the other at Summerslam … in a 3 stages of hell match!

The fans cheer although they already know about the match but don’t yet know what the matches involved will be. The cheering stops and turns to booing as Booker T’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring with his wife Sharmell. They get some good heat as they enter the ring. Booker T takes a seat with Sharmell standing next to him. Johnny the Bull’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring getting some good crowd pops. Johnny enters the ring and says something to Theodore Long before taking a seat also. Theodore Long places a 2nd microphone down on the table.

[Theodore Long] - Tonight each of you will be allowed to choose 1 stipulation for the match and the 3rd stipulation will be decided by a match which I will announce in just a moment. But first, let’s start with you Booker.

Booker T picks up the microphone from the table and sits back in his chair.

[booker T] - I am a 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time World Heavyweight champion. I am one of if not the most decorated champions of all time, I have been to the top so many times but it sickens me to think that someone like you Johnny can think your better than me. You have won nothing, achieved nothing and are nothing! I am Booker T, I have held multiple singles and tag team titles, worked for numerous promotions and whooped so many asses that I can’t remember the last time that 1 man gave me so much trouble. So I am going to make things much easier for myself and give me many ways to put you in your place and name my match as a street fight!

A bit of crowd pop as Booker T announces a street fight. Johnny doesn’t seem to phased and takes the microphone which Booker lays down on the table.

[Johnny the Bull] - Ya know something Book, kicking your ass has given me 2 things, firstly it has gotten me some recognition because each time we face each other in the ring, I either beat you or get screwed by you and Sharmell, so that makes me look good. Secondly, it has let people know that you do not mess with Johnny the Bull. Last week I could have simply went to the ring, fought you and walked out as the winner but no, I chose to make you pay for what you did to Christy and when I hit you with the ring bell, it didn’t make me feel any better. I knew that was you off the hook for another week so instead of having to fight to keep you in the ring, keeping Sharmell out and get my time alone with you, I have decided that my match will be … a steel cage match! Oh and you can’t win by escaping!

Another crowd pop for the announcement of a steel cage match. Theodore Long then buts back in as both men sign the contract but that is only 2 matches although we may only need 2 but just in case we need 3, Theodore Long makes an announcement.

[Theodore Long] - So at Summerslam it will be Booker T versus Johnny the Bull in a 3 stages of hell match. Firstly it will be a street fight, followed closely by a steel cage match and because we may need a deciding fall. Next week on Smackdown it will be Sharmell vs. Christy Hemme! The winner will get to decide the third and final fall! In addition to this, the winner of the 3 Stages of Hell match will receive a United States title shot at No Mercy! And finally if either Booker T or Johnny the Bull put their hands on each other before Summerslam, then they will be suspended without pay until Summerslam where their jobs will be on the line!

Major crowd pops. Booker T and Johnny the Bull stare each other down. Booker T and Sharmell leave the ring heading backstage. Johnny shakes Theodore Long’s hand and heads backstage. Long then has the ring cleared out and disappears too.

[Matt Hardy] - You know it has taken till now for me to realise just how pathetic you really are! You couldn’t cut it as a tag team wrestler and you can’t even cut it as a singles wrestler. So what’s left for you Billy? Are you going to retire? Create a faction and hope that they can carry you for the rest of your days? What I did at The Great American Bash was not out of evilness but because you needed a wake up call but still you are struggling to realise that nice guys finish last.

[billy Kidman] - Why don’t you shut you damn mouth before I stick my boot down your throat. What you did at The Bash was uncalled for and unforgivable. When I cost you your match against Buff last week, that was nothing compared to what I am going to do to you in this ring.

[Matt Hardy] - Ha! You can barely stand up straight because Booker T kicked your ass, well I am a bigger and much better superstar than half the roster including Booker T, so what makes you think you stand a chance?

Instead Theodore Long has told me that at Summerslam it will be The Dark Prodigy and Matt Hardy against The Undertaker, Big Vito your best friend Nunzio and you Billy Kidman! 1 week gone since The Great American Bash and already loads of action has taken place and many matches have been booked for Summerslam. On Velocity this week we saw 4 matches. The show opened as we saw Big Vito and Nunzio and they spoke about being a tag team and how they have made amends. Nunzio then went on to face one half of the WWE Tag Team champions Vampiro and he picked up the victory when Vampiro didn’t kick out quickly enough.

Backstage Test tried to convince Kid Romeo that Team Charisma was over and that Christian would not want any part of them now that he has a World Title shot at Summerslam. Christian let it be known that he wasn’t sure what to do but when he knew then they would know. Test stormed out clearly unhappy.

Big Vito went 1 on 1 with Chris Kanyon and a surprisingly good match, several times Vito was close to victory but in the end it was Chris Kanyon that walked out the victor.

Theodore Long announced that he had been put into power by Shane McMahon following the RKO he received earlier that week on Smackdown. He convinced Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio to face Randy Orton in a handicap match on Smackdown; if they won they would earn a WWE Tag Team title shot. Chavo and Rey then took to the ring where they were set to face Kid Romeo and Test. However Test no showed and Kid Romeo was dominated until Randy Orton struck and used a steel chair to wipe out Chavo and Rey.

Randy Orton spoke about his reasons for going to Raw and Stephanie McMahon insulted Smackdown. Ron Killings took to the ring to face his opponent but the distraction by Stephanie McMahon proved fatal for The Truth as Randy Orton took full advantage and hit the RKO for the victory.

So what can we expect to see on Smackdown this week I wonder? Several matches have been made for this weeks show including 2 title matches. Big Vito and Nunzio will finally get their shot at the WWE Tag Team titles when they take on Vampiro and Devon Storm.

Randy Orton will have to take on Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio in a handicap match. Should Chavo and Rey win then they will be the number 1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team titles.

Billy Kidman will be going 1 on 1 with Booker T. Chris Benoit and Christian team up to take on the unstoppable duo of Brian Adams and Bryan Clark. And in our main event it will be Buff Bagwell challenging Sean O’Haire for the United States title. Plus Johnny the Bull and Booker T will have a contract signing for their 3 stages of hell match at Summerslam. What else can we expect to see? Tune in and find out!

    The Power 10

1 - Sean O’Haire - A week without a match but he remains in the top spot for this week, it could be different next week, he will be defending the World Heavyweight title against Christian at Summerslam.

2 - Sonny Siaki - A good win over Funaki keeps him at number 2, it was an impressive match too.

3 - Kronik - Brian Adams and Bryan Clark reunited to destroy Lash Leroux and Paul London but it will be a different story at Summerslam.

4 - Ron Killings - Was impressive in his match against Randy Orton.

5 - Booker T - A victory is a victory, even if it is by disqualification. Booker T moves up 1 spot to number 5.

6 - The Dark Prodigy - A week of inactivity for Satan and Devon Storm. Vampiro lost to Nunzio and the tag titles could be in jeopardy.

7 - Christian - Will finally get a 1 on 1 match for the World Heavyweight title, defeated 3 other men to earn the prize and he lands on number 7.

8 - Batista - The Animal was close on several occasions to victory on Smackdown but Christian pulled out all the stops. Batista slips 3 spots this week.

9 - Nunzio - Nunzio is at number 9, he continues to impress and got a victory over Vampiro on Velocity. Could be 1 more win from becoming tag team champion.

10 - Chris Benoit - The Rabid Wolverine just can’t get a win these days; however Shane could have plans for him from what we hear. He slips 2 spots this week.

Velocity comes on the air and we join our hosts of the Saturday night show, Josh Matthews and Hugh Morrus. The arena isn't packed but there seems to be quite a lot of fans in attendance.

[Josh Matthews] - Welcome to Saturday night Velocity with me Josh Matthews and my co-host Hugh Morrus. It has been 2 weeks since we last saw you.

[Hugh Morrus] - We have loads of action for you tonight to make up for last week’s absence.

[Josh Matthews] - That’s right because in just a few moments time one half of the world tag team champions Vampiro will be in action as he takes on Nunzio. Big Vito will face off with Chris Kanyon later in this broadcast as well.

[Hugh Morrus] - Kid Romeo and Test take on former WWE Tag Team champions Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio that will be a hot match.

[Josh Matthews] - And in this evenings main event it will be “The Legend Killer” Randy Orton taking on Ron “The Truth” Killings. On Smackdown earlier this week it was Randy Orton who assaulted Shane McMahon before making it clear that he was going to Raw. How will that play into the match tonight? We will have to wait and see.

    ‘Problems Sorted’

The titantron comes to life and we find ourselves backstage with Big Vito and Nunzio, they are walking through the halls of the arena as Nunzio will be in action momentarily. Theodore Long then appears and approaches them.

[Theodore Long] - Alright playas, tonight Nunzio you will be facing Vampiro in singles action, at The Great American Bash you two boys won the right to challenge for the WWE Tag Team titles and Vampiro is one half of the champions, but I must question your ability to continue as a team after the rift that the feud with Kidman and Hardy caused?

[Nunzio] - Your right to question our ability to continue as a team but know this, the desire to be tag champions is what caused the rift; it put Billy Kidman and me together as a team. The desire to be tag champions is greater now but we have already earned our shot and that is what matters, that is the glue that is holding us as a team and soon, very, very soon we will be the World Tag Team champions!

[big Vito] - We had problems but now the problems are gone, Kidman and Hardy have their own problems but we don’t care about either of them now, we only care about 1 thing and that is becoming WWE Tag Team champions and we will do that next week on Smackdown because that is when our title shot happens!

Big Vito and Nunzio walk off and the scene fades to black.

We return to the announce table to rejoin Josh Matthews & Hugh Morrus.

[Josh Matthews] - Nunzio with a victory over Vampiro but it was a close run thing. Will it be the same when the tag titles are on the line?

[Hugh Morrus] - Nunzio and Big Vito looked like the team would implode but they put things back together and won a chance at the tag titles. They are so determined to win that I can see it happening soon.

[Test] - Wake up and smell the coffee Romeo. Christian told us to stay away from Batista at The Bash, he then shook his hand after losing to him and then he wins a shot at the World Heavyweight title.

[Kid Romeo] - Ya know Test, Christian wants more than anything to be World Champion and he will do even the craziest things to impress and get himself a shot.

[Test] - If he didn’t want us to help at The Bash, then why would he want our help now?

The dressing room door opens and Christian walks into the dressing room. Test and Romeo just look at Christian. Romeo then looks back at Christian and nods at Test before taking a seat.

[Christian] - Alright Test, what’s on your mind? I can always tell when something is bothering you, you struggle to hide it.

[Test] - Alright you want to know what’s wrong with me. Romeo might not agree but I think your just buying time before you tell us that you don’t need us any more. You won a title shot without us and you didn’t want our help at The Great American Bash. What is that all about? We used to be tight!

[Christian] - Things change Test, maybe I have been thinking about going on a solo journey but I haven’t decided yet. So when I know, you’ll know.

[Kid Romeo] - That’s cool man, Test and me, we will go out there tonight and it will be business as usual, we will kick Smackdown’s biggest jokes Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio’s ass!

Christian nods at Romeo and looks at Test who still doesn’t look too happy. Test then leaves the dressing room looking intense as the scene fades to black.

    ‘Getting Back On Track’

The titantron comes to life and we find ourselves backstage where Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio are walking through the halls of the arena, presumably they are on their way towards the ring for their scheduled match against Kid Romeo and Test. Moments pass when Theodore Long appears just in front of them.

[Theodore Long] - Chavo, Rey, can I have a quick word with you two?

[Chavo Guerrero] - You had better make it very quick then because Rey and I have some ass kicking to do in that ring.

[Theodore Long] - Sorry, this won’t take long. You both saw what happened to Shane McMahon on Smackdown this week; well unfortunately he won’t be back for a few weeks so he has allowed me to step in until his return. I know that you have had a tough time lately, losing to Vampiro and Devon Storm plus several other losses but I know how good you both are, so I am going to give you a chance to get back on track and back in line for a tag team title shot.

[Rey Mysterio] - That’s brilliant, what do you have in mind?

[Theodore Long] - Currently Randy Orton is still under contract to Smackdown, so I can book him into any kind of punishing match that I wish, so on Smackdown I am booking a 2 on 1 handicap match. It will be Randy Orton versus Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. If you are successful in this match, then I will make you the number 1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team titles.

[Chavo Guerrero] - That sounds great but I thought that Vito and Nunzio where the contenders?

[Theodore Long] - Right you are however on Smackdown they will be getting their chance at the titles so wither they win or lose, their contendership will be gone. So what do you think?

[Rey Mysterio] - You can count on us.

Theodore Long nods and allows Chavo and Rey to head off for their match. The scene then fades to black.

    ‘At A Crossroads’

Randy Orton is standing in the ring having just decimated the former tag team champions with use of a steel chair. The official Raw theme tune plays and Stephanie McMahon makes her way down to the ring to join the soon to be Raw superstar Randy Orton. Stephanie takes a microphone from the ring announcer as Randy Orton poses several times.

[stephanie McMahon] - This is what happens when you mess with the wrong people! My brother Shane took over Smackdown, hired people that my father would never have allowed to work for him again and somehow brainwashed all of you into tuning out of Raw and into Smackdown. Shane has dishonoured his entire family and this company. WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment and when I see who is wrestling on Smackdown, I wonder were the entertainment is because this show sucks!

The fans boo heavily and start chanting ‘Smackdown!’ Randy Orton takes the microphone from Stephanie.

[Randy Orton] - Shane McMahon, since you took over this brand, since you got drunk on power, you have done nothing for The Legend Killer. I have seen so many useless, undeserving pieces of s*** on this show reap the rewards that should be mine. I have been treated unfairly and it got to a point where I hit a crossroads. I only had 4 options; I could stay on Smackdown, where I would continue to be forgotten. I could leave the WWE for another promotion, I could leave wrestling entirely or I could do what I should have done from the start and that is to go to Raw! That little parting gift that I gave you on Smackdown, that is nothing compared to what I am going to do to the ratings of this show when The Great Legend Killer, Randy Orton goes to Raw. Fans will tune out of Smackdown and into Raw to see my used the way I should be! I know your not here tonight and that you won’t be here for a week or so but I heard about you asking Theodore Long to step in and act as a manager, booking me against Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio on Smackdown. Your little plan is going to back fire Shane, and then when you find no-one to face me at Summerslam, you are going to look like a fool!

The Great American Bash left us with a lot of memories and on Smackdown this week, we where left with a few more. Also several matches have already been booked for Summerslam, a joint brand pay per view.

As you may have thought, Smackdown was indeed opened by the arrival of Sean O’Haire, Brian Adams, Bryan Clark and Paul Heyman, a group we now know as A Lesson In Violence. Probably named by the former ECW owner in honour of this group’s domination of the Smackdown roster. Sean O’Haire did not speak on his winning of the United States title and retaining of the World Heavyweight title though, instead it was Paul Heyman that did all the speaking until Shane McMahon arrived. Shane was clearly worried about the power that this group now has, especially with an evil dictator like Paul Heyman involved. Shane announced that Kronik would face DDP and Rhyno at Summerslam and that a number 1 contender’s match would take place later tonight with a World Heavyweight title shot on the line.

In the opening bout of the evening, Buff Bagwell defeated Matt Hardy after interference from Billy Kidman. Kidman let it be known that what Matt did at The Great American Bash would not be taken lightly.

Backstage Stephanie McMahon made an appearance to talk about Summerslam as well as the fact that a certain superstar would be jumping ship to Raw at Summerslam. Shane said he would find someone that is willing to come to Smackdown and that we would have an inter-promotional match. However Stephanie laughed in his face.

In a highly entertaining match the Red Bull champion Sonny Siaki narrowly defeated Funaki but he used a handful of tights to get the victory.

Paul London and Lash Leroux took on the newly reformed team of Brian Adams and Bryan Clark, Kronik! The match was nothing more than a squash in which Kronik showed they are the real deal but things could be different when they face DDP and Rhyno at Summerslam.

Booker T spoke about the match at The Great American Bash and made it seem that Johnny the Bull is to blame for Christy’s injury and not Booker T. Booker T went on to face Johnny the Bull, who still furious from The Bash viciously assaulted Booker T and lost by disqualification. Shane McMahon announced that we would see 3 stages of hell match between the 2 at Summerslam with a contract signing next week.

Shane McMahon joined the announce team for the main event which would determine a number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight title. It would be Christian, Chris Benoit, Batista and John Bradshaw Layfield in a fatal 4 way match. Nobody dominated the match but Christian picked up the victory by pinning Batista following the Unprettier. Shane served as the referee for part of the match.

Tazz’s lets talk about The Great American Bash, what a show, what a night.

[Tazz] - Damn right it was Cole. Matt Hardy turning on Billy Kidman, Christian shaking hands with Batista, Satan burying The Undertaker, the coming together of Paul Heyman, Sean O’Haire and Kronik and the main event for the United States and World Heavyweight titles.

[Michael Cole] - It will be a well remembered event to be sure, in just a few moments time we will hear from Paul Heyman’s group but first let’s talk a little about the action we can expect to see tonight.

[Tazz] - Buff Bagwell taking on Matt Hardy, come on Buff, and take down that backstabber. Sonny Siaki in a non-title match against Funaki and Booker T will once again face Johnny the Bull.

    ‘A Lesson In Violence’

And the moment that we have all been waiting for, the titantron comes to life, the music hits and moments later the 4 most powerful men on Smackdown at this time, Brian Adams, Bryan Clark, Paul Heyman and Undisputed United States World Heavyweight Champion Sean O’Haire come out onto the stage to a chorus of boo’s.

The 4 men make their way down to the ring, Sean O’Haire is wearing the World Heavyweight Title and carrying The United States title over his shoulder as he enters the ring and shows off the gold. Paul Heyman takes a microphone as Kronik stand behind him like a pair of bodyguards. ‘You Suck’ chants begin to echo throughout the arena but none of these 4 men seem at all phased.

[Paul Heyman] - To say that we suck is not an insult to us but an insult to yourselves, you paid to see us at The Great American Bash, you paid to see Bryan Clark decimate Diamond Dallas Page and you paid to see Sean O’Haire become the undisputed United States World Heavyweight Champion, then you chant this shit at us, well its obvious to me that you guys are the ones who suck! As of last Sunday night, we are the most powerful men in all of sports entertainment, we have the greatest wrestling promoter ever and we have the 2 biggest and meanest men to ever walk on this earth. Plus to top all that off we have The United States title, the World Heavyweight title and the greatest wrestler in the history of professional wrestling, Sean O’Haire!

The fans continue to boo heavily.

[Paul Heyman] - You can love us, you can hate us but know this, we are unstoppable, god himself couldn’t put an end to the reign of fame that we are walking upon, this is no tight rope, we are not going to tumble off, we are the hand that rocks the cradle, we keep this boat adrift, we are A Lesson In Violence!

The booing gets louder and more intense but the booing quickly turns to cheering as the words “Here Comes The Money” echo throughout the arena, paving the entrance of the owner of the Smackdown brand, Shane McMahon. Shane walks down to the ring and smiles at all 4 men as he takes a microphone from the ring announcer. Paul Heyman looks rather worried.

[shane McMahon] - What’s the matter Paul? Did you eat something that didn’t agree with you? You’re looking very bloated. I’ll tell you something Paul, I am the owner of Smackdown, I own fifty percent of World Wrestling Entertainment and that means that I, Shane McMahon am the most powerful man on this show, on this brand and in this company. Sean O’Haire has the United States title and the World Heavyweight title, so he could claim to be the second greatest man in this company but let’s see how great he is at Summerslam when he finds himself defending both titles in 2 different matches.

The fans cheer loudly, knowing that Sean O’Haire could very well be losing his gold at Summerslam.

[shane McMahon] - Paul, you are a loud moth, you are a boil on the unpleasant rear end of life, and if I say so, you are my bitch!

Another loud crowd pop from the fans as Shane McMahon continues to put Paul Heyman in his place.

[shane McMahon] - Brian Adams, Bryan Clark, there is no doubt that you 2 are big, bad and might I say very, very ugly but your winning streak, is going to come to an end sooner or later and I have just the way to end it. Tonight you 2 will be facing Paul London and Lash Leroux in tag team action.

[Paul Heyman] - Hah, you think that those pathetic weaklings Paul London and Lash Leroux could possibly end the winning streak of Kronik? That is more insane than you inheriting part of a company from your father who is very much alive. How is Vince this days?

[shane McMahon] - Shut your mouth Paul or I will quote one of his favourite lines to you, then lets see what happens to you. Now as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, tonight Kronik will be facing the team of Paul London and Lash Leroux but at Summerslam, it will be Brian Adams and Bryan Clark taking on the team of ….. Rhyno and Diamond Dallas Page!

Major, major, and I mean major crowd pops on that announcement.

[shane McMahon] - Oh and as for you Sean, don’t think I forgot about you, tonight there is going to be a fatal 4 way match between 4 men that I feel are worthy of a championship opportunity, it will be John Bradshaw Layfield versus Christian versus Batista versus …. Chris Benoit!

Another major crowd pop from the fans.

[shane McMahon] - And the winner will be getting a shot at The World Heavyweight title! Now each and everyone of you can get the hell out of my ring because this is Smackdown and this is a wrestling show!

Shane McMahon has put A Lesson In Violence in their place and ushers them from the ring, allowing for the first match of the evening to take place.

Billy Kidman gave Matt Hardy no chance to explain his actions from The Great American Bash but it would be too late for that now.

‘Raw Versus Smackdown, The Family Feud’

Shane McMahon is now in his office looking over some paperwork that needs sorted out when the office door opens and in walks much to his surprise, his sister, the owner of the Raw brand and currently his worst enemy, Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie stands at the opposite end of Shane’s desk, Shane doesn’t even rise to greet his sister.

[stephanie McMahon] - What’s the matter brother? Are you not happy to see me?

[shane McMahon] - As a matter of fact I’m not sure, any time that I see you I am not sure if I want to greet you or throw you out of the arena. What brings you to my side of the street?

[stephanie McMahon] - Well since we have a cross brand pay per view coming up soon in Summerslam, I thought it would be best if you and I met and allocated a few time slots and who was going to have the main event.

[shane McMahon] - We could have done that over the phone, so let’s cut to the chase and tell me why you are really here.

[stephanie McMahon] - Alright then, it has come to my attention that several of your superstars are unhappy with their position here on Smackdown, one of them has actually come to me and requested a move to Monday night Raw.

[shane McMahon] - I see and who might this superstar be then Steph?

[stephanie McMahon] - Oh I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise but as I understand his contract with Smackdown is coming to an end very shortly and he will be coming to Raw. However I thought it only fair that I let you know personally.

[shane McMahon] - Stephanie, if a superstar on this brand has a problem, then they come to me and I will deal with it. However if this was to happen on Raw, I am sure you would probably just have someone beat respect into them and we both know how you would have do that. So I will tell you what I am going to do. You can take whoever this superstar is to Raw but before they go I am booking them into an inter-promotional match at Summerslam. It will be Raw versus Smackdown.

[stephanie McMahon] - You can do that, you find a superstar here on Smackdown to face the superstar that I am taking from Raw.

[shane McMahon] - Oh no Stephanie, I am still counting them as a Smackdown star, I guarantee you that I will find someone on your show that will defect to Smackdown and then, then we start calling whoever you have found a Raw superstar.

[stephanie McMahon] - And what makes you think I have any superstar on Raw that is willing to come to this second rate, hand me down show?

[shane McMahon] - Your forgetting that Smackdown is the big money maker in World Wrestling Entertainment these days, since I took over this brand, it has dominated Raw in the ratings and we will continue to do so successfully.

[stephanie McMahon] - Wait till father hears about this, he will not be happy. Dad will be so mad that he will take Smackdown away from you. Dad wants what is best for this company and the superstars that are best to work for it.

[shane McMahon] - And that is what Smackdown provides, now if you don’t mind Steph, I have more important things to deal with, oh and you can have the main event at Summerslam, you might as well have 5 minutes of fame!

Stephanie McMahon turns her head and walks out of the office; Shane seems to have put her in her place as the scene fades to black.

Personally I thought that The Great American Bash was a bit of a let down, although in comparison to Survival of the Sickest that would be understandable. Still the event will be remembered, especially with the main event and such. 37,000 plus attended the show, nice.

I opened the show with Sean O’Haire and Bryan Clark as tonight was there night, the streak on the line as well as the chance to be the United States and World Heavyweight champion. Paul Heyman confirmed that he was going to meet the special guest, who we all knew was going to be involved in the pay per view in some way or another.

Big Vito and Nunzio got the upset over Billy Kidman and Matt Hardy; you would put your money on Kidman and Hardy. I must admit I had to put a lot of thought into this feud, it got kind of complicated but now that Matt has turned on Kidman it should become a little simpler. Nunzio really got over from this feud and rightfully so.

Bryan Clark versus Diamond Dallas Page, nobody expected it to be a pretty match, it was going to be a flat out brawl between 2 veteran workers but the ratings for that match were off the chart and it was very unexpectedly the match of the night. Brian Adams made his debut; he was the mystery guest but if you didn’t see that coming then there is something wrong with you. Bryan Clark continues his winning streak. Rhyno over by coming to the rescue but put Kronik over by having Kronik eventually come out on top made them look more dangerous.

Batista versus Christian, not a massive amount of build going into this match, Christian screwed Batista out of the chance of becoming World Champion at Survival of the Sickest. The Animal wanted revenge, had to fight for a match, got it and won. Team Charisma might have cost Christian the match though as Christian was distracted in telling them to stay away giving Batista enough time to score with the spinebuster for the win. But in more shocking events Christian shook hands with Batista after the match turning him face. What does this mean for Team Charisma?

The backstage scene between Johnny the Bull and Christy Hemme was to make it seem that Johnny cared about his tag team partner and really didn’t want her to get hurt, making the tag match a little more personal. Booker T and Sharmell got the win after Booker T hit the scissors kick on Christy Hemme but let Sharmell get the pin. The match rating wasn’t fabulous but Christy and Sharmell are still undergoing a lot of training. Johnny then showed his care for Christy by leaving the arena with her. This feud is far from over.

Ron Killings did a little interview talking about Sonny Siaki and Mark Shade. Mark Shade looked like he had the win after applying The Camel Clutch but Sonny Siaki picked up the victory by pinning Mark Shade after The Samoan Pop. A strong match, getting all 3 men a little more over and Sonny Siaki continues to make waves on Smackdown.

Satan versus The Undertaker, Creative Genius or Wrestle Crap? You decide but the match itself drew strong ratings, finally giving the feud some real credibility. Satan, being inhuman picked up the victory despite the will of The Undertaker. The Undertaker sitting up threw the dirt after the match, off camera got strong pops from the fans, the dead man is not dead and neither is this feud.

Devon Storm and Vampiro, a little talk between the two on keeping the tag titles and their spot on earth got some good ratings, they then went on to defeat 2 time tag team champions Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio, another strong match putting Vampiro and Devon Storm a little bit more over and perhaps removing Chavo and Rey from the tag title scene.

Chris Benoit spoke about the main event, how he knew the decks where stacked against him but he wouldn’t go down without a fight. The match itself despite the hype wasn’t the match of the night although it will probably be remembered more than the rest due to the prizes on offer. Chris Benoit looked to have the win but in comes Kronik, Chris Benoit fights them off showing his determination to win but Sean O’Haire recovers from being driven through the table and finishes off Chris Benoit with The Prophecy and then a Seanton Bomb through a table. Sean O’Haire, Paul Heyman and Kronik ended The Great American Bash with a major celebration.

  22. ‘The Decks Are Stacked’

The titantron comes to life and we find ourselves backstage with the United States champion Chris Benoit, he is warming up for the main event match against Sean O’Haire when Theodore Long appears.

[Theodore Long] - Chris Benoit in just a few moments time you will be facing Sean O’Haire in a history making match because not only will your United States title be on the line but so will the World Heavyweight title. How are you feeling about having such an opportunity?

[Chris Benoit] - How am I feeling? How do you think I feel? I have a huge opportunity sitting right in my face, the opportunity to hold the top 2 prizes here on Smackdown and to be the most spectacular champion in wrestling history. A ladder match against Sean O’Haire sounds hard enough; he has proven himself time and time again that he is the real deal. He has defeated men like The Rock, like Batista, like Diamond Dallas Page and still, still he holds on to that title. It might seem like I have a 50-50 chance of winning the match but considering what we have seen tonight, Brian Adams and Bryan Clark coming together to reform a formidable tag team and along with Sean O’Haire and Paul Heyman I’d say that makes a pretty tough force. There are no rules in this match that keeps any of them away, Sean might like the chance to beat me fairly but I doubt it. My chances tonight are a lot less than 50-50, its more like 20-80 but rest assure that Chris Benoit will not back down from this challenge; he will not roll over and let any superstar stop me from achieving what I want tonight and what I want more than anything is to be World Heavyweight Champion!

Chris Benoit has hyped up the main event with a brilliant speech and he walks off for his match as the scene fades to black.

    ‘At The Announce Table’

We return to the announce table to rejoin Michael Cole and Tazz.

[Michael Cole] - Chris Benoit is ready Tazz, Chris Benoit looks focused, he knows his chances are cut because of Brian Adams and Bryan Clark but he will give it his all.

[Tazz] - Of course he will Cole, Chris Benoit might be the underdog but every dog has his day and this could very well be it.

[Michael Cole] - The United States and World Heavyweight titles are both on the line, “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit versus “The Maniacal” Sean O’Haire and that match is next!

    Hype Video

The titantron comes to life and a video begins to play showing highlights of the feud between Sean O’Haire and Chris Benoit.

Sean O’Haire has been a dominant World Heavyweight champion since defeating Batista for the title at Wrestlemania 22 this year. So far he has defended the title against Batista, DDP, Christian, Randy Orton and The Rock. He even won the first ever 6 man triple cage match to retain the title. The Rock’s career was ended; DDP has had problems with Bryan Clark. Batista and Christian have been feuding and Randy Orton has since left the title picture and is currently taking a short vacation from the ring to recover from a few minor injuries. So who else could challenge for the gold? How about the United States champion Chris Benoit. He defeated Al Snow at Survival of the Sickest to win back the gold and called upon an old tradition where the US champion was the number 1 contender for the World Championship. However before the match could be completely signed both men would have to defend their titles at Night of Champions. Chris Benoit retained against Christian by disqualification after Bryan Clark became involved. Plus Sean O’Haire defended against Rhyno and Diamond Dallas Page. The match was signed right after their victories and we now know that one of these men will be leaving The Great American Bash with the top 2 titles on Smackdown and this will give them ultimate power on the brand. This is guaranteed as in a ladder match there are no disqualifications but the question is who has the balls to hold 2 titles and be the target of everyone on the roster?

The video then comes to an end having gotten some good reactions.

[Tazz] - And to make it even better it is going to be a ladder match, I am just hoping that DDP can put Bryan Clark away tonight because if not then the odds are going to be against Chris Benoit in a main event where anything goes.

[Michael Cole] - I agree partner, also tonight will be a match for the WWE Tag Team titles, a triple threat match for the Red Bull championship, Batista takes on Christian, there will be an inter-gender tag team match.

[Tazz] - And the one that I am looking forward to Cole, The Undertaker versus Satan in a graveyard buried alive match, which is going to be something special.

Maybe you’re trying to convince them to take it easy on Benoit and Page tonight, is that right? Well I have news for you Teddy, Bryan Clark and Sean O’Haire are superstars and as superstars they have an obligation to themselves to go lightly on no man, woman or child and tonight in front of the 37,000 fans that are in attendance and the millions watching at home, they are going to revolutionise World Wrestling Entertainment, make history and prove to everyone once and for all that we mean business! Now get the hell out of here before I bitch slap you.

Theodore Long leaves looking rather unhappy. Paul Heyman begins to smile again as he turns to Bryan Clark and Sean O’Haire.

[Paul Heyman] - I have just gotten word that our guest of honour is on his way to the arena as we speak and I have also taken care of our little swerve so you have nothing to fear tonight Sean. This is a huge night for us; we can take over this company in just 1 night and what better way to do it than on pay per view, than here at The Great American Bash. Chris Benoit and Diamond Dallas Page are 2 major players in wrestling without a doubt but they will be yesterday’s news by the end of the night, I have taken care of what needs to be taken care off, all you two have to do is finish the job by winning your matches tonight. Now gentlemen I have to go and meet our special guest as I am expecting him here either minute. I’ll see you in the ring at the end of the night.

In A Ladder Match For Both The United States & World Heavyweight Titles

Sean O’Haire has been a dominant World Heavyweight champion since defeating Batista for the title at Wrestlemania 22 this year. So far he has defended the title against Batista, DDP, Christian, Randy Orton and The Rock. He even won the first ever 6 man triple cage match to retain the title. For The WWE Tag Team Titles

Devon Storm© & Vampiro© vs. Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero

Chavo and Rey have held the WWE Tag Team titles together twice now, losing them to Rhyno and JBL before regaining them. They then lost the titles moments later to Kidman and Nunzio in tag team turmoil who lost them moments later to Storm and Vampiro. However Shane McMahon seeing how well they had done decided to make a match between the 2 teams for the gold here tonight. Chavo and Rey where in the match for the titles at Night of Champions and on that night it was Rey who was pinned by Devon Storm. Devon Storm and Vampiro must defend these titles to avoid being sent to purgatory by Satan, so they will be focused on winning but at 100% who can defeat Chavo and Rey?

For The Red Bull Title In A Triple Threat Match

Sonny Siaki© vs. Mark Shade vs. Ron Killings

Mark Shade lost the Red Bull championship in a 10 man battle royal at Night of Champions, the same match in which Sonny Siaki won the title, these 3 men where in fact the final three in that match. Ron Killings eliminated Mark Shade before Sonny Siaki eliminated Ron Killings. Killings and Siaki had gone through a bitter feud leading up to Survival of the Sickest and at that event it was The Ace in the Hole who came out on top. Mark Shade and Ron Killings in order to get a title shot had to win a tag team match over Kid Romeo and Paul Burchill, 2 former champions and they did so. Mark Shade defeated Ron Killings to earn a shot at the gold but he had help from Sonny Siaki. Shane McMahon stepped in and made Sonny suffer for his interference but making the match a Triple Threat match. Both Sonny Siaki and Mark Shade share a dislike for Ron Killings which would prove disastrous for The Truth. However in a triple threat match anything can happen, who will walk out as the champion?

On one hand Satan continues to call Undertaker his son and The Undertaker has not truly called it false although he is in denial about it. Plus who is the evil one of the two? The Undertaker on the road to Wrestlemania and afterwards was the most evil man on Smackdown as he showed no mercy to anyone including his tag team partner Booker T. However when Satan and The Dark Prodigy came on the scene, people where seeing The Undertaker as the good guy but Satan has not really done anything of true evil, has he? Maybe taking the body of someone and sending Raven and Vampire Warrior to purgatory is not good but let’s face it, if they where evil, doesn’t that make it good? The story of the feud has been very confusing but there is one think that is certain and it’s that when it all boils down to it, these 2 men are going to have one hell of a match. The Undertaker gets buried and passes away then he goes to hell, Satan gets buried and he returns to hell by himself leaving Undertaker alone. Nobody will be allowed to get involved in the match between these 2 and they wouldn’t want to either, let’s just hope that the right one prevails in this feud.

Billy Kidman & Matt Hardy vs. Big Vito & Nunzio

This all started during a qualifying match for Tag Team Turmoil, in that match Billy Kidman pinned Big Vito at the same time that Nunzio pinned Matt Hardy resulting in a win for both sides. Shane McMahon stepped in but instead of allowing both teams to enter the match he paired together the two who actually won the match, Billy Kidman and Nunzio. This sparked fury with Matt Hardy and he had to watch as Billy Kidman and Nunzio won the WWE Tag Team titles during the match, the reign was only 7 minutes long when Matt Hardy got involved and hit The Twist of Fate on Nunzio allowing Vampiro and Devon Storm to get the win. Matt kept on at Kidman about loyalty as his tag team partner and even convinced Big Vito to do something about it. This eventually led to Matt getting a tag team match in which he and Billy Kidman would face Big Vito and Nunzio for a shot at the WWE Tag Team titles. However the problems within both tag teams could spill out onto the match and cause complete chaos.

Bryan Clark vs. Diamond Dallas Page

This goes back to Survival of the Sickest, when Bryan Clark made his debut to get involved in the triple cage match for the World Heavyweight title. Diamond Dallas Page and Christian where at the top of the cage exchanging blows and whoever came out on top between the two would certainly have won the title. However Christian went down and before DDP could unhinge the title Bryan Clark chokeslammed him all the way to hell. Sean O’Haire went on to defend the title causing an alliance between Sean O’Haire, Bryan Clark and Paul Heyman. Bryan Clark and Sean O’Haire defeated DDP and Chris Benoit in tag team action. Bryan Clark went on to also defeat Buff Bagwell, Chris Benoit and Rhyno in singles matches and is at this point undefeated. Diamond Dallas Page was challenged to a match by Bryan Clark and he did not back down. Bryan Clark wanted to get involved in the main event on Smackdown this past week but Diamond Dallas Page attacked from behind and laid out the man nicknamed ‘The Muscle’ by Paul Heyman. This will be a match between 2 veteran athletes and a match not to be missed for sure.

In An Inter-Gender Tag Team Match

Booker T & Sharmell vs. Johnny the Bull & Christy Hemme

Booker T and Johnny the Bull teamed together once and that one time proved to be disastrous, sure they got the victory when Booker T pinned Ron Killings thanks to Sonny Siaki turning on him. Booker T and Johnny the Bull celebrated their win but Booker T wasn’t happy at the thought of Johnny stealing his spotlight and they came to blows with Johnny the Bull laying out Booker T. Johnny the Bull went a step further though when he cost Booker T a match against DDP which would see the winner enter The Triple Cage match. It seemed that Johnny the Bull wanted to face Booker T, maybe to get himself more air time. Booker T’s retaliation was simply just a distraction which cost Johnny a big match against Al Snow, although the United States title was not on the line. The two of them finally went one on one at Velocity. Johnny looked set for victory when he connected with The Mamaluke DDT. Sharmell distracted the referee though and gave Booker T enough time to recover and pick up victory.

Johnny recovered during the celebrations though and in anger he laid out Sharmell with the Mamaluke DDT. Johnny then went on to defeat Booker T at Survival of the Sickest but it didn’t stop there as Johnny eliminated both Booker T and John Bradshaw Layfield from a battle royal and so in attempts to punish him Booker T accompanied JBL to a match against Johnny the Bull and despite best efforts Johnny laid both men out and picked up the victory. After that match it was Sharmell who challenged Johnny to a one on one match but Johnny turned it down and instead accepted an inter-gender tag team match against Booker T and Sharmell with a partner of his choice. Johnny went on to choose Christy Hemme who attacked Sharmell from behind after Johnny attacked Booker T during a match against Kanyon. Let’s hope that when this match takes place its man on man, woman on woman and not some cheap victory attempt of a man over a woman.

    Batista vs. Christian

Christian defeated Batista upon his return to the WWE to earn a spot inside of the triple cage, Batista had to win a battle royal to get in and when he did he was after Christian. Batista and Christian where the final 2 men inside of the bottom cage and Christian made it to the roof first and took the ladder with him trapping The Animal inside of the cage and keeping him out of the match. Christian was then haunted by Batista who drove him through a table and wiped out Kid Romeo and Test with the ring steps. Batista had to win a 3 on 1 handicap match in order to get a match against Christian at The Great American Bash. Christian has since realised that he has beaten Batista before and he can do it again but has Batista ever been as focused as he is now? Well these 2 men will go one on one tonight and the winner will no doubt be 1 step closer to a World Title shot.

  25. - Randy Orton versus Rob Van Dam - When I saw that Orton won I thought it was too soon for him to get over his bad streak but winning because of DDP won me over. It makes it seem that DDP got the victory more than Orton; I can see this eventually leading to the point where it’s Orton against DDP, which is going to be gold.

    - Jamie Noble vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Carlito vs. Shelton Benjemin - I thought it would be a win for either Carlito or Shelton which would have disappointed me, not really a fan of either. Christopher Daniels has amazing talents and I would have settled for him winning but Jamie Noble is awesome, a brilliant talent who never received what he should have. Really happy to have him as the victor of the match.

    - I didn’t see Borders going over The Undertaker; I thought the dead man was a dead cert to win. Borders going over cleanly will definitely help towards his future and Undertaker will easily be able to claw his way back to the top.

    - Richards versus Smith, not familiar with any of Smiths work but the ratings for the match looked good enough. Shane costing Harry Smith the match and denying him 5 minutes in the ring was foreseeable but it’s just a matter of time before Smith gets his hands on Shane.

    - Chris Jericho versus Brock Lesnar - I was never a fan of Lesnar, he has amazing talent but I just didn’t like him at all. Jericho getting the win suits me fine. I struggle to see Lesnar tapping out even to Jericho but you never know.

    - Austin Aries vs. Phil Brooks - Not familiar with either man. I felt the match might have been too long but they where fighting for high stakes, careers and most importantly cash. Then I saw the ratings for the match and it was obviously a brilliant one so 30+ minutes would have been good to watch.

    - Main Event - I like Edge going over The Rock, both men are full of talent but Edge has more of a future in him so it’s nice to see him retain the gold. I thought the ending to the match was gold, a much unexpected spear and a win in seconds, brilliant. I can see that this feud is not yet over though.

    - On a whole I think it was a brilliant pay per view, many great matches and the outcomes of them where top draw, though I feel there should have been a little more break between the matches, like a short backstage segment or something. Most notably between the main event and the 2 out of 3 falls match. So lets say 4.5/5
