I really want to play this game, but its getting annoying now, could somebody please help me on this

I have downloaded this update, put it onto my game, now my game becomes unresponsive when i try to start a new game, when i do start a new game, all workers/staff contracts start on 0 months and i cant sign any new staff as they wont even negotiate with me, can somebody tell me how to fix this please
