  1. Starting to really sink my teeth into BOTW past  the starting area and it's starting to get really difficult, as in frustratingly difficult. I haven’t even got to a boss fight yet but already it's starting to sour and I'm getting into situations where I'm ragequitting from random encounters.

Everything else in the game is fantastic, the sense of discovery is great and it's just incredible to explore the whole land, but there's so many frustrating bullshit situations where I'm clearly not good enough to do them.

I get it, I need to 'git good' but already there's a sinking feeling that I'm going to hit a roadblock and suddenly a good portion of the game is totally blocked off to me. Luckily the game is completely open world so if the worst comes to the worst, I'm only really missing the Ganon fight at the end, and can still explore the whole of the game and have fun whacking baddies until the end of time.

But now I'm REALLY glad I didn't get a Switch for this.

  2. Played about 4 hours of this on the Wii U and an hour of it last night on a friends Switch.

The Switch version clearly looks a little better, but not better enough for me to justify getting one right now. I figure I'm going to skip the DLC for this, finish my Wii U backlog and then by that time I'll be ready to start a fresh playthrough on the Switch with the additional season pass of stuff.

I don't think I've had this much fun exploring since Xenoblade X, heck maybe even New Vegas. I could easily see myself pouring hundreds of hours into it.

  3. Probably Goldfrapp's Felt Mountin, Portishead's Dummy and their live album, Charles Mingus' The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, DJ Shadow's Endtroducing, UNKLE's Psyence Fiction. Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come, and most of Cardiacs' discography but most importantly Sing To God

Also seconding Surfer Rosa and The Holy Bible.

    1. Netflix isn't available at launch.
    2. I highly doubt you'll be able to put movies on the SD card, and even if you did, the 3 hour battery life wouldn't be that good for watching much.
    3. The VC is not available on launch.

I was very tempted to cancel my Wii U Zelda pre-order and get a Switch instead, but considering how it feels like a really bare bones console on launch I'm actually pretty worried the hardware may have been rushed too. By Christmas we should know how the console performs, it should have a decent games library and all the features missing on launch SHOULD be out.

  4. Super Metroid for less than £3 is an absolute steal, however I'm a little wary of buying anything from the eShop between now and the NX announcement, especially if there's zero cross compatibility.

In fact it reminds me a bit of the huge knock down sales that Sony and Microsoft did for the 360 and PS3 stores before the new consoles launched.

Granted, my backlog at this moment in time is so big that I could easily wait out the NX for another two years, but it's the whole "Why lock this purchase to a dying console when it's inevitably going to be released AGAIN on the NX"

  5. Personally I think they've blown their chance at Giggs, I feel he'd have been a great replacement for SAF because even though he wouldn't have been a great manager, he'd have been a good motivator to squeeze a decent effort out of the squad they had. He knew the club back to front and knew everyone there so he in theory should have been able to do better than Moyes, maybe even way better than Moyes with a solid scouting network.

By the time Giggs theoretically comes back, the entire United locker room that he shared will have left or retired and he'd basically have to start from scratch, trying to rebuild a mentality that not only isn't there any more and features none of the players who used to share that mentality. So unless he comes back an absolute tactical genius his United legend status will be useless.

Well, this much is up for debate...

But they have, they've effectively done what Liverpool did the other year and pushed so hard in their title chasing season that they were entirely burnt out by the next season.

If they were playing badly to sabotage Mourinho they wouldn't still be dogshit after getting Hiddink.
