  1. Well holy shit...

A lot of the time I start new gamez but get bored after a few months when it all gets a little samey. So I took a break, and came back a few days ago to fire up yet another attempt with Sunderland. The first few games of the season, my form was up and down like a yo-yo and I was struggling to distance myself from the relegation zone. Thanks to the newest patch I had around £4M to spend, and brought in the odd player or two to try and strengthen the squad. It seemed to work, as from then on I slowly began to rise up the table towards the playoff spots. A twenty four game unbeaten streak saw me hit second, which was great. What wasn't great, was doing pitifully bad in both cup runs and crashing out early. While the money would have been nice, it allowed me to concentrate on the league and eventually hit the top spot...then everything went to shit. I still can't wrap my head round what happened, but I watched as a fifteen point lead evaporated despite doing everything I could to stop it. Thanks to my form tanking, the race for the title between us and West Brom ended up going to the last two games of the season. Luckily I had West Brom in the penultimate game, and beat them 4-1 meaning at least a draw would see me finish first. Going into the Coventry game, I wasn't very confident but a 4-2 win meant that despite the ups and downs I finished on top.

Transfer wise, a lot of my buys were complete busts. Freddy Eastwood especially is proving to be a complete waste of money thanks to his terrible form since I bought him. Alexey Yeremenko and Dong Fangzhuo however, proved to be two worthwhile buys. As far as next season goes, I don't look to be having much to spend but I've already got Armand Traore coming in July for just under £3M.

But that wasn't half as interesting as what was going on around me.

By the end of the Premiership season, the three relegated teams were...Watford, Sheffield United, and coming as a huge surprise to me, Tottenham. Spurs hadn't been doing too badly up until a few games towards the end, but a few months prior had sacked Martin Jol and replaced him with Louis Van Gaal. Chelsea underperformed all season, losing to Man U in the semi finals of the Champions League and ending up 4th in the Premiership. Sam Allardyce was sacked by Bolton, then went to Leeds...who promptly got relegated from the Championship. But it's not all doom and gloom for Leeds, as for months they'd been flirting with a take over, that has finally gone through. They're rumoured to have around £35M to spend, so shouldn't be in League One for more than a season.

  2. Right, what's better - staying in the Championship and building a decent squad, or getting promoted and probably getting raped?

I left Everton to take over at Nottm Forest last season, and after finishing mid-table (I was there from Jan onwards, they were 21st when I joined), we're now second after 13 games. We're starting to put some distance between us and third placed Leicester, but I'm honestly not sure whether to really root for promotion or not. My defence is awful, and we're only so high because our central midfielders/attackers are on fire.

That being said, I'm not sure whether we've got the funds to completely overhaul 7, 8 players. I'd need two wingers, two full backs, two centre backs and (ideally) two keepers as well.

  3. Anyone know why the auto-leveling won't work for me anymore?

I went in and had my party do it for 10 levels or so, and then I went and saved the game and turned it off. I came back, planning to do it with the other three, but I cleared all the monsters in the area....but the creature (can't think of it's name) never appeared.

  4. Damn, I missed out on Thunder? <_<

    What I liked

Finlay beating people half to death...it's what he's good at. Now if only it would translate into some kind push up the card instead of slapping around guys like Chris Adams.

This is probably getting sickeningly repetetive by now...but I love, love, love, love, Jericho with all my heart. It's so good, he's even giving Malenko a personality for christ's sake.

Cage's promo was enjoyable, and it does seem as though you're making him less Jericho Jr and giving him his own distinct personality.

The Outsiders/Rising Sons video...it was short, to the point, and did it's job. I still really hope the Sons go over, even if Hall and Nash are still seen as much bigger stars by comparison.

    What I didn't like

If I'm being honest, the Jericho/Eddie match. Dammit was that thing long for just a 10 minute non title match on the B show. That's not to say there was anything wrong with it writing wise, as it was a damn good match.

Brian Adams' feud against the nWo. Since it started with his ejection from the group, I just can't seem to bring myself to care about him. Maybe it was someone who was less of a background player (I'm assuming that's what he was) then I might be enjoying this more. But with Adams, I just don't get it. If you're actually trying to push him up the card, then I guess I can wait and see where this is going. But if it's just something to keep him and the other lesser nWo guys busy, well I'm sure you could find better things to fill TV time with.

    ...and Nitro...

    What I liked

Along with the whole Hart scenario, this Horsemen/Flair feud is the best thing going in the diary right now. The first three segments of the show proved that. I mean you've got an awesome Flair promo for starters, followed by an equally awesome Douglas promo. Then to top it off, a nice little six man brawl for good measure. I was going to question where Jericho was in all of this, but he's got a title match later so it's understandable that he'd not want to risk injury.

I feel dirty just saying this, but I enjoyed the Goldberg/Kidman match. But I enjoyed the post match stuff even more. The Flock has an interesting little problem going on right now, although I'm not sure just how much longer you can drag it out for...and I still really hope that the end result in all of this isn't just Raven getting squashed by Goldberg. In a perfect world, he'd beat him and shoot up the card.

You seriously need to stop writing Jericho promos, so I can stop saying I love them so much.

Same goes for Hart promos. Short and sweet, hopefulyl we don't have to waiut too much longer to see him cut a promo as WCW champion. *hint hint* :shifty:

    What I didn't like

...the mental image of a Jericho/Okerlund relationship will haunt me forever <_<

Other than that, I can honestly say there wasn't anything I didn't like...unless you count Bagwell still being TV champion as something.

  5. Zalera would be one of your best bets, but you'd have tyo make sure you've got the Barheim Passage key so you can get back into Barheim through the alternate door. Plus, Zalera has some nasty level based attacks so you'd need to be a certain level (43 or 47) to avoid them.

If you're at Sochen, then the next storyline esper (Shemhazai) isn't for some time. So I guess it's a toss up over whether you'd want to go through the annoyances to get the key (if you haven't already) or just carrying on through the game until you get to the Great Crystal.

  6. Just face facts, people like Jack Thompson know nothing about videogames other than a picture that they saw in a magazine, and they draw their own conclusions. I forget who it was, I think maybe Tipper Gore or Lieberman cried out in protest against Duke Nukem 3D saying that you get extra points for killing women. That's when the game designers stepped in and said "Well....there isn't a point system, and second, killing women is advised against in the game because if you do, you have to fight more monsters."
  7. I'm currently on the way to getting them all, just got Ultima and Zodiark left to go.

Of them all, the only one's I'd say were challenging to fight would be Zalera and Cuchulainn. The former wasn't so hard, but mroe annoying due to the time limit. Cuchulainn however was a complete bastard thanks to the hp draining field effect AND the fact that he could cause sap AND his little spawning Foobars.
