  1. London & Kendrick © vs. Morgan & Jindrak for the WWE Tag Titles

-- They'll do it, somehow. I think it's gonna take more than these two guys to end Londrick's nine-month reign.

Chris Benoit © vs. Mr. Kennedy for the United States Title

-- Mr. Kennedy could get more use out of the title than Benoit can, I think.

Shannon Moore © vs. Joey Mercury for the WWE Cruiserweight Title

-- Shannon needs a longer reign than just a few weeks.

    Kane vs. Sylvan

-- As a surprise I guess, you seem to be pushing him so a win here might be on the cards.

CM Punk vs. King Booker in an Extreme Rules match

-- I want King Booker to win, don't see it happening though.

Bobby Lashley © vs. Carlito vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Hardcore Holly for the ECW World Title

-- If you switch the ECW title it's not going to be on the No Way Out undercard.

Gregory Helms vs. Shawn Michaels for the Wrestlemania Main Event spot

-- It would be terrible if you took the title shot away from Helms now.

Batista © vs. Undertaker in Hell in a Cell

-- I think he's going to go into WrestleMania with the championship.

    Bonus Questions

    1. Which match will open the card? London & Kendrick vs. Morgan & Jindrak

    2. Which match will receive the best match rating? Helms vs. Michaels

  2. That was fantastic, well-written, and read like a real show. I especially liked how you included realistic backstage segments such as the Jericho interview and Terri waiting in the parking lot for Triple H.

    - First match was a good read, I do enjoy a good tables match. The jury is still out on Hardcore Holly and Val Venis as a team, to me they are perennial mid-carders but with the right push, they might just win me over. It's interesting how it looks like the Dudleyz will now feud with Holly and Venis, as that leaves few teams for Billy and Chuck to feud with. The APA? Can't think of anyone else right now.

    - Big Show vs. Booker seemed like a filler match, which in reality is what it was. I'm not sure if I like the result as it did make Big Show look strong, but with Angle seemingly out for some time I feel that Booker may have needed the win more here.

    - I enjoyed the Hardy Boyz re-union segment, again it seemed realistic. I'm glad that both brothers seem to be getting a push.

    - Brock Lesnar destroying Matt Hardy was the right decision, in my opinion. Hardy looked strong enough and Lesnar got a big win.

    - Edge and Angle was written well (but only 71% Match Quality? Damn, Angle must have been a wreck). A huge win for Edge who may be getting SmackDown!'s 'Brock Lesnar' push. I certainly wouldn't begrudge him to be in the title picture by the end of the year anyway. Good match, and a good result for the Edgemeister.

    - The six man tag, again, filler. I thought a win for the Canadians here would be better, but if APA are the next title challengers then maybe you had the right idea. Jeff is looking strong, next European champion perhaps?

    - RVD vs. Undertaker, kinda like Lesnar/Hardy in that RVD got to look strong against a bigger guy but still came out with a loss. The Undertaker looks certain to be the next Undisputed title challenger and RVD is still Intercontinental Champion, so no harm done.

    - I enjoyed that Jericho interview.

    - I was so pleased to see you giving nWo the win here, it's just what they needed to make them look strong. What I didn't like is the seeming tease of a Hogan vs. Austin feud. From a realistic standpoint, Austin would have never wanted to work with Hogan at this point in time. Kane really needs something to do, perhaps a heel turn? Apart from that, I liked that the nWo finally got to look strong.

    - Didn't like the Womens title match, purely for the fact that Jacqueline annoys me. I guess this is just a little de-tour in the Jazz/Trish feud which, if I'm honest, is a feud I don't really care about.

    - Main event time, and this felt like a big match, especially with the pre-match angle of 'will Triple H be there or not?'. I feel the way the match was written made both men look as strong as they deserve to be, and Triple H getting the victory was the right decision.

    - As a single show, this was a very strong effort. It was realistic, lengthy, well-written and it had that 'WWE supercard' feel about it. Congratulations to the two of you for writing such an entertaining show.

  3. (#9) WWF Undisputed Championship Match

Chris Jericho versus Triple H ©

    Winner (3 points): Triple H

    Outcome (DQ/pin/submission) (2 points): Pin

Comments: Triple H only just beat Chris Jericho for the championship last month. There's plenty more mileage to come out of the Triple H title run.

(#8) WWF World Women's Championship Match

    Trish Stratus versus Jazz ©

    Winner (3 points): Jazz

    Outcome (DQ/pin/submission) (2 points): Pin

Comments: The heel champion/face challenger dynamic is always better. Jazz is doing fine as champion and there's plenty of time for Trish to chase for the belt, I say it stays on Jazz for now.

(#1) WWF World Tag Team Championship Tables Match

The Dudley Boyz versus Billy & Chuck © w/Rico

Winner (3 points): Billy & Chuck

Who will be the final man to go through a table? (2 points): D-Von Dudley

Comments: Kind of like the womens title match in the regard that there's plenty of time for the Dudleyz to challenge. Plus, these two are the only real strong teams so the longer this feud lasts, the better it is for the tag division.

    (#7) Six Man Tag-Team Match

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Kane and Hulk Hogan versus The New World Order

Winners (3 points): The New World Order

    Outcome (DQ/pin/submission) (2 points): Pin

Who takes the fall/taps/gets DQ's (1 point): Kane

Comments: I don't think the nWo have really looked strong as a super-group so far. A win here could provide the momentum they need.

    (#4) Non Title Grudge Match

The Undertaker versus Rob Van Dam (Intercontinental Champion)

    Winner (3 points): The Undertaker

    Outcome (DQ/pin/submission) (2 points): Pin

Comments: I guess you could give RVD the shock win, but it would look better for both if RVD could show he could handle the match with Taker and take it to him but Taker still comes out with the win. Plus, I think you may be establishing Undertaker as your next title challenge.

(#3) Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman versus Matt Hardy

    Winner (3 points): Brock Lesnar

    Outcome (DQ/pin/submission) (2 points): Pin

Comments: Debuting monster meets jobber to the stars. Duh.

(#2) Six Man Tag Team Match

The APA and Jeff Hardy w/ Lita versus Lance Storm, Christian and Test

Winners (3 points): Lance Storm, Christian and Test

    Outcome (DQ/pin/submission) (2 points): Submission

Who takes the fall/taps/gets DQ's (1 point): Faarooq

Comments: Kind of the same as the nWo match in that it's a fledging stable against a thrown together team, so the stable needs to look stronger.

(#5) The Big Show versus Booker T

Winner (3 points): the Big Show

    Outcome (DQ/pin/submission) (2 points): Pin

Comments: Because...heels are winning in most of the other matches.

    (#6) Edge versus Kurt Angle

    Winner (3 points): Edge

    Outcome (DQ/pin/submission) (2 points): Pin

Comments: It could go either way, I'm going with Edge because a win for him here would show him on equal footing with Kurt, and hold good for the rest of the feud.

    1. Will The Dudley Boyz finally put Rico through a table (Y/N)?: Yes

    2. Who will secure the victory in the Austin/Hogan/Kane vs. NWO match? Kevin Nash

    3. What will be the highest Rated Match (Based on EWR MQ Statistic)?: Edge vs. Kurt Angle

    4. What will be the lowest Rated Match (Based on EWR MQ Statistic)?: Trish vs. Jazz

  4. 1. World Heavyweight Championship:

    Batista © vs Triple H

I don't think he'll lose the title less than a month after he won it.

    Edge vs ‘Hollywood’ Hulk Hogan

I would have said Edge, but I think Hogan will use his creative control to avoid losing.

    Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit

    A win for RAW's newbie.

    John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield vs Kane

Same again, JBL is RAW's new guy so he needs to go over Kane.

    Intercontinental Championship:

Shelton Benjamin © vs Charlie Haas

Haas isn't ready for the belt, but this won't be the end of this feud.

    World Tag Team Championship:

William Regal & Tajiri © vs The Dudley Boyz

Regal and Tajiri were always just a thrown together tag team.

    Intercontinental #1 Contender Match:

Rene Dupree vs The Hurricane vs Christian vs Mystery Opponent

    2. Which match will open the show?

    Benjamin vs. Haas

    3. Which match will receive the highest EWR match quality?

    Benjamin vs. Haas

    4. Which match will receive the highest EWR crowd reaction?

    Batista vs. Triple H

    5. Who will be the "mystery opponent?"

I haven't got a clue, so I'll go with Stevie Richards.

  5. I like this diary; it's realistic, it's easy to read, and it's well written. It also follows up from one of my favourite ever wrestling shows: WrestleMania 21. Here are my thoughts from the two shows:

    RAW

    Good

    - JBL on RAW. By this time he'd outlived his use on SmackDown! and it's good for his character to switch shows. You used two characters really well on this show, and he was one of them.

    - Christian. I'm glad that you're giving double C a push. Giving him a promo made him look big-time and he looked competitive in the main event.

    - Batista and Triple H. I like that you're continuing this feud, as it's bigger than just one match. Also, Batista is the second character you used really well. He looked like a friggin' monster in the main event.

    - Haas vs. Benjamin. This is a feud I've always wanted to see and I'm glad that you're using it. However, I hope Haas explains his actions next week, this feud needs a reason.

    - Edge vs. Hogan. This could be the feud which turns Edge from upper mid-card to main event. As long as he isn't squashed by Hogan, I'm happy.

    Bad

    - Too many squash matches. Kane beats Maven, Regal and Tajiri beat La Resistance, Shelton beats Simon Dean...none of these matches really served a purpose.

    - Match placement. This is just a small one, but I think in real life JBL vs. Michaels is a bigger match than the main event, and to put it on right before it would take away from the main event. I think this should have main evented hour one, and maybe Kane vs. Maven should have been the sleeper match before the finale.

    - Benoit, Randy Orton and Hassan. Why weren't these three on the show? I think you could have left out one of the squash matches to include these three on the show in some capacity.

OVERALL: RAW was a good show to start the diary, and while it seemed a night of faces (apart from JBL beating Michaels), it was a good follow up from WrestleMania.

    SmackDown!

    Good

HBK on SmackDown!. Michaels suits SmackDown! because he's a very wrestling-orientated character. Plus, it's a platform for him to continue his feud with Angle.

A strong cruiserweight division. This is what current day SmackDown! needs. You've got London, Kidman, Chavo, various others. It also was the first match of the show which is good for the cruiserweights, warms the crowd up.

Eddie vs. Rey. I get the feeling you're doing the slow-burn heel turn thing with these two, and I like it. Interested to see where it goes.

Oh Yeeeeeeeeeeeeah. Hardy on SmackDown! is good, he should make a good US title challenger. It's also a good way to avoid having to do a storyline with Edge and Lita too.

    Bad

    - Cena vs. Angle. Yes it is a big match and it would pop a good rating and both men have a lot of momentum from winning at Mania, but Cena beating Angle cleanly just doesn't do it for me. Since JBL is now on RAW, Angle is SmackDown!'s top heel and now Cena has got past him...who's left?

    - Carlito. I believe this was Carlito's first match since returning from injury, so to lose with little fanfare sucks. I was hoping you'd have him beat Booker T and get him back on track, but sadly not. I hope he doesn't become a jobber in this diary.

    Indifferent

    - The note. I'll see where it goes...

    - 2 Cold Scorpio. I'm not sure what you can do with him, but I'll see where that goes too.

OVERALL: Shawn Michaels adds a whole lot to the SmackDown! main event scene as we don't yet know if he's gonna go after Cena or Angle. The note interests me as it's something new for Booker who was very dull at the time. The mid-card scene needs work but with Orlando Jordan, Matt Hardy and Carlito leading the way, it could be decent. I'm also interested to see what you do with the Undertaker. Another good show here.

  6. I love your stuff, so another diary is a-OK with me.

The concept of this one is good, I remember it being done somewhere before with WWE and a guy had to fire Christian after his first show, but I don't think that lasted too long. The way this diary is means that you have to be a versatile booker, long term plans will be pretty hard to do with this thing.

I like how you've started though. Lots of the characters interest me, and the storylines too. I like the concept for the tag team tournament, it's a great way to put over a new team (like Roode and Young). However I hope Roode doesn't go face (as hinted) because I think he'd be totally overshadowed by Young. Or maybe that's a good thing, I don't know.

The NWA title scene intrigues me. You've got Angle who's just lost his shot at the title, Joe who just lost his chance at getting one, and Daniels who has one but doesn't seem to be using it? I hope you don't go down the route of Angle/Joe again, I would love to see how you'd present a Steiner/Angle feud without Steiner being a stooge to Christian. Joe seems most likely to be getting the next shot, or is he going after Tomko? I don't know, I just hope it gets cleared up soon.

I'm liking AJ Styles' new troublemaker character, like we saw with the confrontation with Sting. But what has happened to Abyss? And Rhino?

Interested to see who Shelley can possibly be recruiting for Paparazzi Productions. If it's someone outside TNA, I'm going with Rod Strong, if it's not it could be one of a few guys. The "Mr. Natural" thing sounds like Chase Stevens is going heel to me, maybe it could be him.

Just as it looked like Serotonin were going to be getting a push, Kazarian is fired. That's the nature of the beast, I suppose.

So there's a few loose ends which need tying up, but isn't that the interesting part in a diary? I know I'll be reading to see what happens next. I hope you stick with this, it's looking good.

  7. Number One Contenders Face Off - Rey Mysterio (SD!) vs Triple H w/Mark Henry (RAW) - I think Cena will come out to help Mysterio win this one.

WWE Title Match - John Cena © vs Edge w/Lita - Triple H heel, babyface champion needed.

Intercontinental Title No 1 Cont. - Rob Van Dam vs Shelton Benjamin - Same logic as above, Flair is a face so he needs a heel challenger.

Gregory Helms and Nunzio vs Kid Kash and Funaki - Unlikely partners to co-exist and win the match.

Super Crazy vs Paul London vs Joey Mercury - London and Kendrick vs. Regal and Burchill looks like the best option.

Predictions should be made for All 5 Matches.

    Tiebreaker Questions;

    1) What Stipulation will The Undertaker choose? Buried Alive

    2) Will there be any returns to the WWE, if so who? No

    3) Name at least one person who will appear on the show that isn't mentioned in the preview. William Regal

  8. ECW World Title

"Hardcore" Hulk Hogan © vs. "Presidential Candidate" Muhammad Hassan - Hogan doesn't do jobs.

Kurt Angle vs. Masteroth w/Mordecai - Uh yeah, score one for the new guy. Is this Chris Masters?

    NWA Television Title

CW Anderson © vs. Terry Funk - A longer reign for Anderson I think.

    RAW

5 on 5 Tag Team Match

DX (Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Jimmy Snuka, Umaga, Samoa Joe) vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Squad - The Squad are jobbers.

    WWE Title

Edge © vs. John Cena - By Lita interfering with a sex toy.

    Intercontinental Title Fatal 4-Way

Carlito © vs. "Randy" Randy Orton vs. Charlie Haas vs. CM Punk - Haas to win...and nobody will care.

    Smackdown

    World Heavyweight Title

King Booker © vs. The Paultimate Warrior - he is a king, after all.

Rolling Sea of Fat vs. Pimptista and the Godfather - I can't see the two pimps co-existing.

    WWE United States Title

Lashley © vs. Mark Jindrak vs. GODZILLA! - Sure Lashley is strong, and Jindrak can jump really high, but GODZILLA! is just GODZILLA!

  9. For the guy above, Dean Douglas was Shane Douglas and Avatar was Al Snow.

Good start to this diary, it looks promising. Retro diaries are cool when they're realistic, well-written and well-booked. I think all three of these could be achieved here.

    - Dean Douglas vs. The 1-2-3 Kid

I'll take 1-2-3 Kid with an upset win.

    - Owen Hart vs. Avatar

Owen Hart is main eventing your next pay-per-view and Avatar is a jobber. Not that I'm saying this match shouldn't be here, jobber/squash matches are a neccesity for a diary from this era.

    - Marty Jannetty vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley

Jannetty's return, I think he needs a win. It could set up a nice little feud between these two.

    - Shawn Michaels vs. Sycho Sid

I think the Million Dollar Corporation and Camp Cornette could come together to screw Shawn here.

  10. Just posting to say that I'm still reading this and still enjoying it. WrestleMania is shaping up to be a very good card, with three big time main event matches from SmackDown!

    - Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton was booked well, with Mysterio getting the win but Orton getting his heat back afterwards.

    - I liked the little angle you did with JBL, Orlando and Kurt Angle. It seems like something JBL would do, pretend that he and OJ were having a fight to lure him in and get OJ to cruely attack him. JBL vs. Angle should be a good match at WrestleMania, but I think there's money in a JBL/Orlando feud sometime in the future.

    - I like that you are pushing the cruiserweight and tag divisions, but to me it doesn't seem realistic that they'd get a place on the Saturday Night's Main Event card. Still, I do like that you are pushing both divisions.

    - I'm foreseeing a TLC match at WrestleMania between MNM, London and Kendrick, the Mexicools and Regal and Burchill. Should be great :)

    - The tag match was pretty cool. Is it just me, or are you switching the feuds over so it's Benoit vs. Finlay and Lashley vs. Booker? Or maybe just combining them? Either way, it's fine with me.

    - The segment where Animal was beaten up by Burchill and Regal didn't really make any sense to me. I suppose it's just something to keep the champs occupied until their WrestleMania challengers are announced?

    - The main event was good. I can buy Henry as a world champion, although it does seem like his reign is only there to transition the title onto Rey. Glad that you're reviving the Orton/Undertaker feud aswell. It should be a good WrestleMania re-match, and hopefully Orton will get the win this time.

Oh, yeah, and I also really like your format for the shows. It's easy to read. So keep up the good work. I hope you decide to stick with this.

  11. SJW Heavyweight Title Match

John Walters© Vs. Deranged - I'm thinking a swerve here and you'll switch the title after one month.

"The Chosen One" Joey Sinclair Vs Al A. Kazam - Joey couldn't lose.

Sir Guy, The White Knight Vs Teh Mad Haxx0r - He's a cult favourite, he has to go over.

GVTFO Ranger Vs. Baxter Basics - Basics is a bit of a jobber, methinks.

Cap'n Bloodbeard Vs. Deacon Night - I don't think Night will be in the right mind-set to win this match.

    Special Dark Match

The Ultimate Mark Vs. Super Saiyan J - Because apparently he's the most powerful Super Saiyan in the world.

  12. WWE NO WAY OUT 2006

Winner gets Wrestlemania Title Shot: Kurt Angle vs Randy Orton vs Rey Mysterio - I think Orton will win this match, but like they did IRL you'll find some way to get Angle and Mysterio in to make a fourway. I think.

World Heavyweight Championship - Mark Henry © vs The Undertaker - You HAVE to have Mark Henry in your WrestleMania main event. Plus he only just won the title, it would be stupid to take it off him already.

United States Championship Cage Match - Booker T © vs Chris Benoit - I think you'll leave the blow-off with these two for WrestleMania.

JBL vs Lashley - I'm thinking you'll keep him going with the undefeated gimmick.

WWE Tag Team Championship - MNM © vs Mexicools - I don't see this as a clean victory. MNM will cheat some way so Mexicools can have a WrestleMania re-match.

Finlay vs Matt Hardy - I see you giving the newcomer an important win in this match.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship - Gregory Helms © vs Nunzio vs Funaki vs Kid Kash - Helms only just won the title, it would be nice to see him have a nice, long reign.

Brian Kendrick vs Paul Burchill - By Regal interference

Which, if any, Titles will change hands? None

What will the Wrestlemania 22 Main event be? Mark Henry vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton

Which match will get the highest rating on EWR? Angle/Orton/Mysterio

  13. World Heavyweight Championship

Bobby Lashley vs. King Booker © w/ Sharmell

    Easy victory for Booker.

    Batista vs. Mark Henry

This should set up nicely for a World title challenge at Summerslam.

    Punjabi Prison Match

The Great Khali w/ Daivari vs. The Undertaker

Khali rules in this diary. Have him win this and then give him his own interview segment.

    WWE United States Championship

    Chris Benoit vs. Finlay ©

    Just because.

    Joey Mathews vs. Matt Hardy

    Hardy is teh jobber.

    WWE Tag Team Championship

Petey Williams/Eric Young vs. Paul London/Brian Kendrick ©

    Naturals to attack post-match.

    WWE Cruiserweight Championship

    ????? ????? vs. Gregory Helms ©

Because Helms kicks all kinds of ass.

  14. regia - Yeah, I figured Batista winning would be a bit obvious, but it's all I could do with the angles WWE presented before I started this. I tried to plan the seeds of doubt in people's minds with Kennedy and Booker's attack on Batista earlier on the show, but it was seemingly all in vain. Nevermind, Batista's the number one contender now and that's all I was aiming for. Glad you like Nash and Hall. I don't mind the Miz, I just thought that the reporter might dislike him. You'll see no bias from me, wrestlers I like and dislike will still get the push if the readers enjoy reading about them.

Clint - Sorry to hear you didn't like the format. It's staying the same format this week, but the PPV events will be more like last weeks format, only with longer match descriptions.

Jack - yay, my very first review! Glad to see you liked the format again.

    - Glad you're a fan of my Chavo character, he's somebody who's had so many ups and downs in the WWE, hopefully he'll become a breakout star in this diary.

    - Glad you like Sylvan too, his push will continue.

    - Khali is someone who I'm having trouble with recently because his manager is out. It's gonna be hard to build towards Summerslam with him, but hopefully things will turn out alright when we get there.

    - Mercury and Hardy were too people who were stuck in a rut when I started this, so sticking them together just seemed natural. Whether they stay together or not, we'll have to see...

    - Yeah, the Diva Search is bleh, but I wanted this diary to be realistic so it had to be there. Oh well, only about another two weeks and it'll be over.

    - They were my two intentions for the handicap match, yes.

    - Hall and Nash seem to be disliked by some, liked by others. They won't be the stars of this diary, though, they're just here at the moment to bolster the roster and to work with some of the younger wrestlers. And a big angle will be set up with them pretty soon...it won't be the nWo, though.

    - I'm glad you liked how the main event was done, because that was my exact intentions. When Batista is presented as anything but a monster then he's not really working well, and although Kennedy is a rising star he's not at Batista's level...yet.

  15. Wow, thanks for all the feedback, I wasn't expecting any!

Clint - thanks for your comments on the show. Glad you liked it: unfortunately for you, though, I'm going to keep Lashley. I hope that doesn't stop you from reading.

Jack - thanks for your comments aswell. Unfortunately when I read the part about you liking the format my heart sunk. I actually decided to change the format because I don't think I'm very good with dialogue in promos. Hopefully you'll like the new format, and if you don't, hey, I might even decide to go back to the old one.

1PWCorino - thanks, and I took your advice about the graphics (as you can see in the SmackDown! preview.) Nash and Hall, as I said earlier, are two people who will be involved in a big storyline in the future. But I'm with you, I like pushing the younger guys aswell. You'll probably see that by how I use Nash and Hall in their first appearances (Y)

Rated R Superstar - thanks again, and I'm glad you like the backstory parts, and I think I've enjoyed writing them aswell, so they'll continue as long as I've got stuff to write about.

Thanks to Rated R Superstar and 1PWCorino for linking me in your sigs. And thanks to whoever rated this ****. I hope I can maintain the quality of this diary to keep it at that level. Now, onto the show...

  16. DATE: Monday 31st July, 2006.

LOCATION: Eric Bischoff’s home – Detroit, Michigan

    TIME: 12:51p.m

It had been a very strange day for Eric Bischoff. In the morning he had switched on his computer when the following news headline met his eyes:

SENSATIONAL WWE WALK-OUT: STEVE AUSTIN AND RODDY PIPER LEAVE!

Eric was surprised by the news. After all, Piper had been advertised to appear on SmackDown! just this week. Curious, Eric picked up his cell phone and made a call to Vince McMahon.

“Hey Vince, what happened with Roddy and Steve?”

“Don’t play innocent with me, Bischoff!” Vince shouted, “I think you have a damn good idea why they left.”

Bischoff thought for a moment but he couldn’t come up with anything. “Mr. McMahon, I assure you that I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Kevin Nash? Scott Hall?” Vince said, “As soon as they heard that they were coming back they both came to me and demanded I terminate their contracts.”

“That's ludicrous! There has to be some other reason for this! I mean…Austin’s not even going to be on the same show as Hall and Nash and, Roddy, well, he only works every once in a while.”

“Eric, I don’t care,” Vince said firmly, “that’s the reasons they gave me and that’s the reasons I’m accepting. Now, Eric, give me one good damn reason why I don’t fire your ass?”

“Vince…” Eric said, “you son of a bitch! How dare you pin all the blame on me for this! I may have been the ones who suggested it, but you were the one who hired them. So go ahead, Vince, fire me. They had their reasons for leaving, but I bet Hall and Nash were the smallest reason of all. But sure Vince, you need a scapegoat. Why don’t you fire the one guy who can lead SmackDown! back to the top?”

    The phone line went dead.

“Damn it!” Bischoff screamed. What the hell had he just done? He’d called his boss a son of a bitch and acted like an egotistical idiot. If he wasn’t getting fired before, he sure would be now.

The cell phone began to ring again. It was Vince.

Bischoff picked up the phone. “Hello.”

“How dare you take that tone with me!” Vince roared down the other end. “How dare you insult me! How dare you insult my mother! How dare-”

“Fire me and I’ll sue your ass for unfair dismissal!” Eric said the words so quickly that he didn’t even have time to think about what he was saying before he said it. He was expecting another eruption down the other end of the phone, but instead he got…

    …a laugh?

Vince chuckled. “Eric, I may not like you but DAMN IT, you have balls! I like that. Now listen to me. Remember that I’m your boss and I deserve the ultimate respect. Ever speak down to me again and your ass is going on the unemployment line. But for now, Eric, I’m gonna let you keep your job. You’re right, I need you right now. But let me tell you, you’re on your last chance. If I have any more walk-out’s, any more uproar about Hall and Nash…then you’re out. Got that?”

“Loud and clear.” Bischoff put the phone down and then kicked the wall next to him.

He knew that Nash and Hall were being used as scapegoats by Piper and Austin. Austin quits the promotion every couple of months when he finds something he doesn’t like. He probably didn’t like something to do with his movie so he used Hall being employed as an excuse to leave. Bischoff had never liked Austin, and didn’t really care that he’d gone.

Piper, on the other hand, was a source of worry for Bischoff. He had been scheduled to interview Chavo Guerrero on Piper’s Pit this week, so Bischoff would have some re-booking to do. As for why he left, who knows? He was notorious for his on-off relationship with the company aswell.

His second week as the head booker of SmackDown! had definitely not gotten off to a good start.

At the Great American Bash, Ken Kennedy may have scored the biggest victory of his career thus far when he defeated Batista via disqualification. By virtue of his victory, Kennedy became the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam. Or so he thought. Last week, Theodore Long announced that this week the two would clash again in a number one contenders match. This time, however, there would be no disqualifications. How will Kennedy cope with the new stipulation? Will Batista finally get the victory he has seeked for six long months?

Also on SmackDown!, the legendary Roddy Piper will return to interview Chavo Guerrero on Piper’s Pit. Chavo himself had some shocking words for all last week when he revealed that his motivation for costing Rey Mysterio the World Championship at the Great American Bash was his deceased uncle, Eddie Guerrero. Will the Pit have any more shocking revelations in store?

The recent disagreements between Finlay and William Regal will have to be put aside on Friday night when they team up to face Lashley in a handicap match. Can the young rookie handle the two veterans of the ring? Will Finlay and Regal stay a united front? Also last week, Joey Mercury proposed a tag team with Matt Hardy. Will Hardy accept the proposition? We do know that Hardy will be in singles action on SmackDown! when he faces Psychosis.

The tag team champions will also be in action on Friday night when London & Kendrick face the Gymini in a non-title match. On top of this; will we hear anything from the Undertaker or the Great Khali before their Buried Alive match at Summerslam? The Diva Search will also continue when the diva hopefuls face off in a pie eating contest!

    Tune into SmackDown!

    - The rumours are true; Eric Bischoff has accepted the role as head booker of SmackDown! and will start in the job next week. Apparently the decision was made to give Bischoff this new role because McMahon felt that the WWE would need someone with a vast amount of experience to help SmackDown! recover from the latest slope.

    - The latest wrestler to join the suspended list is Daivari. Details are not available at this time.

    - In good new for SmackDown! however, the Great Khali and Lashley have been cleared to wrestle again. Unfortunately, there is still no update on Super Crazy's test results.

    - The injury angle of Kid Kash on SmackDown! was a work. The Pitbulls are expected to return to television in late August.

    - SmackDown!’s tag division currently looks really bleak. With only one team (not including the Gymini) active on the show, talk is that the belts might be retired.

    - Current talk indicates that Vito’s cross-dressing gimmick will be shelved.

    - Talk is that Eric Bischoff is considering bringing Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior back to the WWE.

The show opens with a video package from Sunday night’s Great American Bash pay-per-view. 19. Cheers for all the feedback guys; mucho appreciated. A few of you said you don't like the idea of brining in Nash and Hall, but that's fine. I was just thinking of who Bischoff would bring in if he did get control of a WWE brand, and those were the first two to spring to mind. And about the whole Nash-TNA thing, I've got it covered, and it'll be explained soon...in a segment near you.
  20. DATE: 24th June, 2006.

LOCATION: Vince McMahon’s office -WWE Headquarters - Stamford, Connecticut.

    TIME: 2:19 p.m.

The next morning, at the WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, Eric Bischoff entered Vince McMahon’s office with a grin that even the Cheshire Cat would have been proud to pull off. Vince rose from his chair and greeted Eric with a very strong handshake, before beckoning him into the chair opposite his desk.

“So, Eric,” Vince started, “have you thought about my preposition?”

“Well, yes Vince, I have given it a little thought…” Eric lied; naturally he had been thinking about becoming the head booker of SmackDown! all night.

    “And…?”

“And I’d like to accept…under my conditions, of course.”

McMahon’s eyes could have rolled into the back of his head. There would never be anything as simple as a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ in the wrestling industry. Nevertheless, Vince decided to play Eric’s game.

“And what would these conditions be? Money?”

“Oh no, nothing about money Vince…I live in a mansion, I’m set for life, why would I care about money?” Eric snorted a little laugh, “My main concerns here are about how much control I’d get while booking SmackDown! No offence Vince, but I really don’t want to have to answer to a bunch of snooty kids who’s greatest accomplishment is being a writer for Spongebob Squarepants.”

“Trust me Eric, when I asked you to become head booker that’s exactly what I wanted you to be; head booker.” Vince smiled. “Of course, you will have to lead a booking team of writers but at the end of the day, whatever you say goes.”

Whatever I say goes? Are you serious?”

“Well, obviously I’d ask that you run the storylines by me before they go to TV but apart from that…yes, whatever you say goes.”

    “Mr. McMahon…”

    “Vince…”

Eric smiled apologetically. “Vince - you have a deal.”

“That’s great to hear. You’ll start at the SmackDown! tapings tomorrow.”

Both men shook hands once more before going their separate ways. Vince went back to his chair and took a moment to think about the power he had left in the hands of the man who once tried to take him out of business. Before Vince could stew over the possible ramifications of what he had just done, he received a phone call. It was Stephanie, updating him on the condition of her sleeping new-born baby girl.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the building, Eric Bischoff burst out of the doors with a grin even wider than it had been before. As the new head booker of SmackDown!, Eric knew that he had some serious re-building to do. How he would do it, even he didn’t know yet. But he did have a small idea. It was a similar idea to one which helped him kick-start WCW on the road to glory exactly ten years ago, and it involved the return to the company of two of the most infamous figures in pro-wrestling history. When he would return home that night, Eric had two calls to make: one to Scott Hall, and one to Kevin Nash.

  21. DATE: 23rd June, 2006.

LOCATION: Vince McMahon’s office -WWE Headquarters - Stamford, Connecticut.

    TIME: 11:51 p.m.

The Great American Bash had not been a satisfactory show for Vince McMahon.

As he sat in his office that evening, Vince decided to take a moment to think about the direction of the company. Sure, RAW was a wildly popular show, but the original ratings spike brought on by the re-incarnation of D-Generation X was starting to ware off, and fans were becoming tired of the act. Even the new WWE champion Edge hadn’t generated much interest in his first weeks of champion, due to the fact that he was in the same old feud with John Cena, only with the roles of champion and challenger reversed. The flagship show it may have been, but it was starting to hit a rough spot.

Vince then thought about the ECW re-birth. Everyone knew that McMahon absolutely hated the first few shows of the new ECW. He made it clear that he wasn’t interested in the shows target audience (the internet fans, they’d always be around) and that he thought the ECW wrestlers were far inferior to his WWE superstars. To try and solve this, he injected ‘hosses’ like Test and Mike Knox onto the programme and gave them hefty pushes, but this didn’t improve the entertainment of the shows. Sure, the last few weeks had been an improvement on the first few, but he still wasn’t sure whether or not he should just can ECW after the twelve-week trial period on Sci-Fi was up.

The final brand SmackDown!, however, was the one Vince was most worried about. At the start of the year, it looked like the show was set for a terrible year when it was suddenly hit with a string of injuries, suspensions and other hindrances:

    • Ken Kennedy, rising superstar, sidelined with a torn lat, on 6th December, 2005.

    • Hardcore Holly, former WWE Intercontinental Champion, sidelined with a staph infection on 9th December 2005.

    • Booker T, WWE United States Champion, sidelined with a strained groin muscle on 26th December 2005.

    • Dave Batista, World Heavyweight Champion, sidelined with a torn triceps muscle on the 10th January, 2006.

    • Kid Kash, WWE Cruiserweight Champion, sidelined with a broken arm, on 12th January, 2006.

    • Gregory Helms, WWE Cruiserweight Champion, sidelined with a broken arm on 10th March, 2006.

    • Randy Orton, former World Heavyweight Champion, suspended after ‘unproffesional conduct’ on 4th April, 2006.

    • The Boogeyman, rising star, sidelined with a torn left bicep on 4th April, 2006.

    • Joey Mercury, one half of the WWE tag team champions, taken off the road to deal with drug issues on 23rd May 2006.

    • Chris Benoit, former World Heavyweight and United States Champion, sidelined with ‘plaguing shoulder injuries’, on 26th May, 2006.

    • John Bradshaw Layfield, former WWE and United States Champion, sidelined with a ‘serious back injury’ on 26th May, 2006.

    • Kurt Angle, former World Heavyweight, WWE, WCW and Intercontinental Champion, drafted to ECW on 29th May, 2006.

    • Johnny Nitro, former half of the WWE tag team championships, drafted to RAW on 29th May, 2006.

    • Paul Burchill, rising star, sidelined with a knee injury on 2nd June 2006.

    • Randy Orton, returned from suspension, drafted to RAW on 8th June, 2006.

  22. Hey, please can someone make me a better version of the banner in my sig?

Size: Your choice, as long as it's within forum rules.

Colours: Again your choice, although I'd prefer blue to fit in with the colours of SmackDown!

Pictures: Just one of Eric Bischoff, the one in my current banner would be perfect (I can upload and send the PSD to whoever needs it.)

    Text: 'Saving SmackDown!'

Thank you to anyone who does this. :)

  23. The Thrillseekers vs. The Shane Twins

Just because I think you're pushing the 'Seekers more than the Shane Twins.

    Beth Phoenix vs. Melina Perez

Looking for Mickie James to interject herself into this match in some way.

Internet Title: 30-Man Battle Royal - Al Snow to win

I just based it on the fact that you've pushed Al Snow over the past few shows.

Four Team Elimination Match: Harry "Bulldog" Smith & Bruce Hart vs. Mikey Batts & Billy Kidman vs. Brian Lawler & Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Deuce Shade & Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka

I really like all the family ties in this match. Can't see Harry and Bruce winning, because Bruce isn't really a wrestler. Don't think Batts and Kidman will win either. That leaves it to either of the father and son combos, and I've gone for the Lawlers because they're the heels and if they win then it can lead to the babyfaces chasing them for the titles for a few weeks.

Heavyweight Title Tournament Final: CM Punk vs. Paul Burchill

I went with Punk because he seems the most marketable as a first champ. However, I don't think you've told us everything we need to know about this match, and I think some kind of swerve will happen here. Maybe it could be the debut of the 'big man' (I'm thinking that will be Khali) or maybe one will turn heel.

Overall, I think the card looks good. You've got some big matches on the card (although the fact that all three of the titles will be decided helps that somewhat) and you've built up some suspence with this whole 'big man' business. Looking forward to it.
