And Im sick of people ragging on Palace security.  I go Pistons games all the time and Ive never any problems with them.  You go through metal detectors to get in.  And, are these people supposed to know that Artest was gonna charge into the crowd.  The guards are usually in the aisle ways and not in the middle of the sections.  Are they supposed to plan every night, "Well.....theres 1% chance a fucking lunatic might charge into the stands, so lets put armed guards in the seats."

He just watched Steven Jackson lay someone out for no reason, here comes Fred Jones, who knows, maybe that guy's family members were over there and he was worried Fred Jones would pull the same shit Jackson did

Except Jones was surrounded by other fans, and hadn't punched anyone. The only time he did anything was when the fan started punching Artest, when he (along with others) tried pulling the guy off of Artest. IIRC, there were fans seperating him from Jones, but he moved ahead of them to get to Jones.

Let me ask you this...if this piece of shit is justified in taking punches at Jones, who HAD HIS BACK TURNED, and had made no agressive gestures what so ever, was it acceptable then for Artest to throw punches at the fan who came up to him on the court?

I love how everyone is acting like it's nothing to get hit in the face with something... granted... it was a mistake to run into the stands swinging... but have you ever been around someone throwing stuff around and got nailed in the face with it and immediately wanted to crush the person who threw it... cus I have... add in the adrenaline rush of just being involved in a big brush up on the court... and having someone previously disrespect you by throwing a sweaty wristband in your face...

Ben Wallace didnt throw a punch at anybody and didnt instigate anything. Wallace shoved Artest for a legit flagrant foul when the game was basically over. They're just suspending Wallace so the Pacers dont seem like they're taking all the blame. Which they should.

That fan who attacked Fred Jones just watched Steven Jackson go into the stands and assault a random person, perhaps he was looking out for the well being of other fans

Here is my recommendations for suspensions:

Ron Artest- season, possible criminal charges (all his crap)

Jermaine O'Neal- 20 games (only attacked someone on the court)

Stephen Jackson- season (went up there unprovoked and hit an innocent bystander)

Ben Wallace- 3 games (standard for throwing punches in a game)

Jamaal Tinsley- 5 games (he hit an official but it was by accident)

Fred Jones- 5 games (see Jamaal Tinsley)

Nobody else should get any suspensions because they didn't do anything but try to keep the peace.  Austin Croshere should get a payraise though.  He was everyone's human shield.

If I was the NBA, but Im biased here, based on his history; Id give Artest atleast 20 games.  You do not attack fans, and that's what he did, attacked fans.  And the wrong one at that.

It was absolutely insane... I've been watching it on Sportscenter and ESPNEWS for hours now... Now they're showing a replay of the game on ESPN 2... It's nuts...

You do understand that 65 million people DID NOT watch the show? 65 million DIFFERENT people did not vote. People can vote for as many times as they want. They could sit there for hours at a time and continue to vote. And that is normally how it is done. Last I checked, they were only getting ratings in the 9's. Which is good for Fox, but 65 million people did not watch the show. So don't expect to see some kind of gigantic rating for the show because of that number.

technically that is not true... Their system is set up do you can only vote once per phone... if you get through the line for a second vote... it gives you an error message... hence the reason why Simon told Jasmine that she better hope every house in Hawaii had at least 5 phones and they all voted for her so she wouldn't get eliminated...

I was a Diana fan... so i was sad to see Macy Gray... I mean Fantasia Marino win... i can't stand her voice...
