  1. Desaparecidos has Conor Oberst in it, it's good, but I'm not really into hardcore music. The Good Life is like a mellowed out Cursive, I actually prefer them to Cursive. Umm...The Postal Service is really good, it's Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie and Jimmy from Dntel (and Jenny Lewis  from Rilo Kiley sings backup sometimes). That's all I can think of so far.

  2. I totally forgot about that.

I didn't think it would have the same impact as Original Pirate Material, but it was even better. For those who haven't heard it, its like a continuous story told through music. Really great stuff.

And, yes, Empty Cans is a fantastic end to the album - clears everything up and makes you want to listen all the way through again.

"Dry Your Eyes" made me cry.

  3. Albums:

Bright Eyes - Fevers and Mirrors

    Damien Rice - O

    Modest Mouse - Good News...

    Radiohead - OK Computer

    Bright Eyes - Lifted...

    Tracks:

Bright Eyes - The Center of the World (Fevers and Mirrors)

    Damien Rice - Volcano (O)

Modest Mouse - Bukowski (Good News...)

Radiohead - Let Down (OK Computer)

Bright Eyes - Nothing Gets Crossed Out (Lifted...)

  4. 1. The Mars Volta - Televators

    2. The Dead Kennedys - Stars and Stripes of Corruption

    3. Velvet Underground - Crimson & Clover

    4. Stretch Arm Strong - Second Chances

    5. Steriogram - White Trash

    6. Maynard James Keenan - Silly Love Songs

    7. Interpol - Obstacle 1

    8. Goldfinger - Disorder

    9. Elliot Smith - Miss Misery

    10. Dirty Americans - Strange Generation

That's a great album, if only for Interpol, Elliott Smith, and Mars Volta.

  5. Yes, we had one of these before. Twas always fun.

Anyway, let me kick things off....!

    CD

1: Neutral Milk Hotel - "Communist Daughter"

2: Sonic Youth- "The Diamond Sea"

    3: Pixies- "Brick is Red"

    4: Modest Mouse- "Summer"

    5: !!!- "Kookaku! Fuk- U!"

6: Belle and Sebastian- "Wrapped up in books"

    7: Bjork- "Army of Me"

    8: Breeders- "Iris"

    9: My Bloody Valentine- "Loomer"

10: Godspeed you! Black Emperor- "Blaise Bailey Finnegan III"

    12: Porcupine Tree- "Titre 7"

    13: Slowdive- "Allison"

14: The Smiths- "How soon is now?"

Jeff Mangum is a genius. Props to you for adding Neutral Milk Hotel to your CD, although "Two-Headed Boy" would've been a better choice in my opinion.

  6. QUOTE

    Damien Rice - Cannonball

Still a little bit of your taste in my mouth

Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt

Still a little hard to say what's going on

Still a little bit of your ghost your witness

Still a little bit of your face I haven't kissed

You step a little closer each day

    That I can't see what's going on

    Stones taught me to fly

    Love taught me to lie

    Life taught me to die

So it's not hard to fall

When you float like a cannonball

Still a little bit of your song in my ear

Still a little bit of your words I long to hear

You step a little closer to me

So close that I can't see what's going on

    Stones taught me to fly

    Love taught me to lie

    Life taught me to die

So it's not hard to fall

When you float like a cannon

    Stones taught me to fly

    Love taught me to cry

    So come on courage

    Teach me to be shy

'Cause it's not hard to fall

And I don't want to scare her

    It's not hard to fall

    And I don't wanna lose

    It's not hard to grow

When you know that you just don't know

Lyrically one my favourite songs and one of a few that can make me cry, particularly going through a break up in the past.

I love Damien Rice. "Lonelily" is a great song, as is "Volcano".

  7. He's not much of a musician, but he's probably one of the greater lyricists out there today... And true, Commander Venus was a great start. Desaparecidos (I hope I spelt it right) is pretty good if you're into that emocore stuff, it's not At The Drive-In, but it's still decent.
