What does $126 million equate to in Canadian dollars? I'm still wondering where the Blue Jays keep getting all this money.
-
I start with my index finger on green and then shift down and up one button as needed.
-
We've got 2 for Smolderthorn - Horde. Who else will join us?
-
I don't listen to much of the stuff but Garth Brooks and Allan Jackson seem to be good choices. "Calling on Baton Rouge" by Garth Brooks is solid. I'm a huge Charlie Major fan, but he really only has two good songs - "Nobody gets too much love" and "I do it for the money".
-
I will play anywhere, but I would have to download all the patches again first so I want to know it's already going before I do it

Lets form an EWB guild on Smolderthorn - Horde side or Frostmane - Alliance side.
Get back to me
-
Did we ever get an EWB team together?
I attempted to, but it didn't work out.

The graphics look solid, but that's a cut scene and not real gamplay so who knows. Anyone have a release date?

The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly made a big pitch to lock up centre-fielder Vernon Wells, floating the idea of a whopping US$126-million, seven-year contract extension.
...
The proposed deal would be among the richest in baseball history, slotting Wells in behind Alex Rodriguez ($252 million for 10 years), Derek Jeter ($189 million for 10 years), Manny Ramirez ($160 million for eight years), Todd Helton ($141.5 million for 11 years) and Alfonso Soriano ($136 million, eight years).
Sounds good to me. Gotta keep the team player, and if they're gonna overpay for anybody it might as well be Wells.

I rented the game yesterday. I havn't played much but plan on putting in some quality time tonight. If any one wants to play on Live look me up at Bish158.

How is "Girlfriend" considered a rock song. More importantly, why do I love to play it so much?
-
Well I did it. I broke down and rerolled. I'm a lvl 10 Warlock on Frostmane if anyone wants to add me to your friends list.
This game is too addictive.

I quit the game about 2 months ago when I bought my XBOX 360. I had a 60 Tauren Warrior on Smolderthorn and was raiding with a new, but very good, end game guild. I got sick of raiding and wanted to focus my gaming time on my 360 since I spent so much money on it. Now all I can think about is playing World of Warcraft again. I want to reroll on a new server and play Alliance for the first time. Ahhhh! This is driving me nuts. Screw you Blizzard!

I'll have GH2 in about an hour, awesome.
I suck at most things like this, but meh, practice makes perfect and all that jazz >_>

I went to rent the game tonight but it was still all out. How good is the multiplayer? I ask because my XBOX Live Gold expired and won't be renewed until the weekend. If it's a big part of the game I'm going to hold off until my Live goes back up before I rent the game.

I've loved this show since it's pilot and it's only gotten better as the season progressed. Every character has depth and something that sets themselves apart from everyone else. The scripts are fantastic with well paced plots and well executed dry humor. It's easily one of my top 2 or 3 shows on television right now. Brilliant.

Monkey Wrench is one of my favourite songs in the game! Foo Fighters are my favourite band so I'm a bit bias. Has anyone else found the replay value of this game to be less then GH1? I haven’t touched the game in a bout a week and I just can’t seem to get "the bug" to play it. Disappointing.

Okay, so I five-starred every song on Medium, with the exception of Freebird (four stars), Psychobilly Freakout (four stars), and Carry Me Home (three stars - fuck that song), so I figured I'd try my hand at Hard.
Seriously, how the fuck do you people play this game? I couldn't even get halfway through Wolfmother because it's so insanely fast and that orange fret is a cocksucker. Seriously, how do you do it?

I got my XBOX 360 about a month ago and it has worked fine on my standard tv set. The graphics are still awesome! It depends on the game wether or not you get widescreen cutoffs or other related resolution problems. I've played a dozen games so far and the only game that had the widescreen with really small, hard to read text was Dead Rising. Everything else has played normally for me with no problems.

Having now finished career mode and spending about 5 hours playing 2 player co-op with one of my best friends I think I can form an opinion on the game. That opinion is this...
The game kicks massive amounts of ass.
Guitar Hero II plays well, sounds and looks great and is just a blast to play. From the great 2 player additions to the simplest touches such as the breakdown of sections and their scores for each song it seems a lot of thought went into this years game. I had a lot of fun working my way through career mode but the most rewarding, entertaining and addictive part of this game is its two player co-op. My buddy came over right after school and we jammed all night long. He wanted to just try 2 player and then finish career so he could play "Freebird" but after our very first song (It was "Monkey Wrench" by The Foo Fighters) we couldn't stop. Only when he left for dinner did I get the chance to finish career. Then when he came back we played the entire list for a few more hours. It helps a lot when your 2nd player is at or near your level as me playing on hard and him on easy would have sucked nuts.
The game isn't perfect mind you. I'm not as impressed with this years play list compared with last years. Don’t get me wrong, GHII has a lot of great tunes but it just seems more are less then great. Last year, with GH I, I loved just about every song in the game. I realize it's hard to have 55 songs that are all awesome but I was hoping over half of them would be great. I don't understand why Red Octane would get the right to Aerosmith, Alice in Chains and especially Van Halen only to give us there not so epic tunes. I'd much rather of had any other Aerosmith and Van Halen Song while replacing "Them Bones" with "Man in a Box."
Another annoyance is how it seems Red Octane went out of their way to find songs that would be really hard instead of really fun. Essentially all of tier 7 and 8 are way less fun then songs from tier's 2 and 3. I thought the idea was to save the best songs for last to make the player want to beat the game even more. Aside from "Freedbird" the last two tiers offer no memorable songs. In GH I the last two tiers feature some of the most fun songs in the game such as "Godzilla" and "Texas Flood." I hope for GH III Red Octane shifts the focus from trying to doup the few people who can 5 star "Bark at the Moon" on expert and more on giving the player the most enjoyable, memorable songs they can think of.
Overall I love this game. Aside from the play list being slightly less then ideal the game offers lots of fun songs to play. The 2 player co-op is fantastic and the practise mode can actually be very helpful. All the new venues are really cool to, though I'm not a huge fan of the Stonehenge set. Bottom line is this game is a must buy and was well worth the $89.99.

Question for you all, what song if you’re favourite to play in single player and what is your favourite to play in 2 player co-op?
For me the best song for single player is "Sweet Child O' Mine" while for 2 player co-op it would be "Carry on Wayward Son."

"against the law"? Bullshit. It may be a contract violation, but it's not 'against the law'. They may get a civil lawsuit if they sell the game early, but nobody'll be charged with a crime.
And I'm considering calling in sick tomorrow so I can stay home and play guitar hero 2 all day. Then again, I think I'd be disgusted with myself if I sank to that level of geekery.
-
So apparently a bunch of people were able to pick their copy of the game up today. I went up to my local EB Games this evening and asked for it but they said "we have it in, but it's against the law for me to sell it to you before the street date. Come back tomorrow." I preordered it right then and there to make sure I can get my copy tomorrow. If they don't give it to me tomorrow morning I'm canceling my preorder and buying it from Futureshop!
