It can't say anything about his credibility because he has none whatsoever.
Which is basically what I was implying.
I like what Burke did yesterday. I really feel that Free Agency was Burke's first true mark on this team. Our defense was horrid last season...so he went out and fixed it. I'll be interested in seeing how well our defense shuts down opposing teams next season.
As far as our arch rivals in Montreal go...the issue I can see coming up is the lack of size on the team. There's really not a lot of big bodies on the team from what I can tell. Lot's of skill though...so maybe that will help make up for the lack of size and strength.

Heatley rejects the trade...yet Eklund reports it's official - the trade goes through.
What does that say about Eklund's credibility? >_<

Heatley is supposedly saying that “he’s not comfortable making a decision on the Senators’ timetable.”
Is this guy for real? Holy fuck...

Some tidbits about Komisarek's signing from Maple Leafs Hot Stove:
Know why we got him for 4.5m?Montreal was offering more. So were the New York Islanders.
But he took a discount to join Toronto. A DISCOUNT to join the hated arch-rival of the only NHL team he has ever known.
During the regular season, Komisarek was adamant that he wanted to stay in Montreal, and was trying to negotiate an extension to do so … at an affordable rate, nonethess (thought to be close to the 4.5 he just signed for). Gainey did not grant him the extension, and Komisarek, who is a heart and soul player, took it personally.
Sounds good to me.

Cammy plays the point on the Powerplay. No worries.
Cammy being who?
I'll miss Kubina's booming shot...that was easily his greatest asset. I know Stempniak can play the point on the PP...but he didn't really show his skills much last season. Kaberle is more effective as a set up man in my opinion.
EDIT: Supposedly Komisarek actually turned down more money to come to the Leafs. Wow...if that's true I give him a thumbs up.
Our D is going to chew up players and swallow them when they're done.

I have a hard time believing Kaberle will be moved. He's basically the only defense we have that can provide an offensive touch (outside of White). Our power play will hit the shitter without Kubina AND Kaberle.

For any team seeking a goaltending upgrade, Ed Belfour is tanned, rested and ready.
The future Hall of Famer, who turned 44 last April, is working out near his suburban Dallas home as he seeks a return to the NHL. Agent Ron Salcer confirmed that his long-time client has asked him to contact clubs to determine any interest level.
Let's sign him up Burke!

Kadri was a good pick, I suppose. I was expecting Burke to go with Cowen personally, but hopefully Kadri can develop into a solid top six guy. Probably a second line center, but I could be wrong.
I'm not shitting my pants in anger like a lot of Leafs fans seem to be. We need to brighten our prospect pool...and Kadri seems to have a good enough upside to be worth developing.

Hopefully you can use the money your player earns through their contract to buy gear once it's unlocked for the store.

The Emery thing was news two weeks ago.
Aw shit. That's what happens when I stop following the news closely for three weeks or so. >_<

Flyers have found themselves a goalie for next year...
The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with 6’2’’, 196-pound goaltender Ray Emery, according to club general manager Paul Holmgren. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.“We are extremely excited and happy to have entered into this agreement with Ray,” said Holmgren. “We believe Ray is a good, young goalie that has a unique blend of size, competitiveness and athleticism.”
“I’m excited to be able to get a chance to play with a team that’s a contender and I’m grateful for the opportunity that’s being given,” said Emery. “I think I have the ability to play consistent. I’m athletic, but I try to rely on a system and make things as simple as possible.”
Emery, 26, appeared in 36 regular season games with Atlant Mytischi of the Kontinental Hockey League in 2008-09, where he posted a 22-8-0 record with a 2.12 goals-against average and .926 save percentage. He also registered a 3-3 record with a 1.86 GAA and .941 save percentage in seven postseason appearances
This should be VERY interesting.

Didn't the Molsons own the Habs once before?
-
The Sedins are going to get a hard dose of reality once they hit the FA market. No one in their right mind would pay that much for two players, and at that term; that still have a lot to prove in the post season. Had the Sedins made a bigger splash in the playoffs this year...maybe it would be worth some consideration.
Now watch Brian Burke sign them for that much. Ugh.

BTW Drifter.. any deck ideas you wanna pass along?
Im trying to collect em to try out when I can..
Honestly bud I barely remember what I even used for cards. I liked using Earth, but I know that's not much help LOL.

I played a fair bit of Culdcept on PS2 a year or two back. Enjoyed it a lot until I ended up playing a two hour game in the story and landed on an expensive tile that dropped me from first to fourth in one battle. Even more annoying considering I was two tiles away from landing on the finish and winning the match. Didn't play much after that.
I bought Culdcept Saga but didn't really put any time into it. The whole situation with the original sort of soured me on the series.

About time EA caught up and added some board play. Hopefully they fix the face off system too.
First person fighting doesn't do it for me at all. I'll just turn fighting off again like I did in 09, which is a shame.

I like it a lot more than the UFC game...but that's not really saying a whole lot. The main issue with Fight Night now is the fact that it's kind of run it's course. The total punch control thing was really good for a while...but you can really only do so much with boxing, and I think they've sort of reached that limit.
I can see myself picking it up once it get's a price drop, but I don't feel the desire to pay full price for it.

So with 3D Realms ending last Friday, much of the insider info regarding the project is starting to leak out. From what we hear, publisher Take-2 Interactive offered $30 million to George Broussard in an effort to acquire the IP rights to the Duke Nukem franchise, although it is unclear if this includes the work that was already completed on Duke Nukem Forever.
Our sources tell us that Broussard turned down the offer to sell the franchise, and instead spoke with several other publishers, including id Software, Epic, Electronic Arts and even Microsoft in an effort to secure additional funding to complete the project.
From what we hear, Duke Nukem Forever is not completed, but we also hear Broussard is continuing to shop for money; but this could prove to be problematic, as Take-2 Interactive does still hold the publishing rights to the game.
As we said the other day, the future is unclear for the game. What we do know from our sources is that the last chapter may not have been written in the Duke Nukem Forever saga.
Take that for what it's worth.

So I've got a question for anyone here who bought a DSi....
Does this thing have any way to transfer photos to a PC via USB? Or do I need a SD card slot to do a transfer?
-
Told you.
Anyway, ended up beating Wolverine today and I can safely say that I can't wait to go back through and do it again. Gonna get all the trophies I can on Normal then hopefully beat it on Hard to get my first Platinum.
Don't fucking rub it in Clawson.
How the fuck did your sister's boyfriend actually do this shit? I've tried everything. I've used both my thumbs, my index fingers, put the controller on the floor, put it against the wall, and even tried the pencil trick.
-
EDIT:
FUCK THIS SHIT!
This button mashing sequence is the biggest crock of bullshit I've come across in a long time. I've got my controller against the wall, and am practically HAMMERING it right through the side of my room. You need to be a fucking robot to do this shit. Seriously...FUCK!

Aside from this being Eklund, I'd like to make a comment on how bad this trade looks from where I'm sitting. We're giving up a quality puck moving defenseman, and a prospect for a GOALIE prospect...and something? Maybe a second round pick, maybe a #2 screw driver?
Not really liking the looks of that trade. Goalie prospects (even Schneider - who's good) are like fine china. They can be excellent...or smash into a million pieces. More so than other prospects IMO.
Maybe I'm just looking at this the wrong way though. It's not like the deal is probably even real. Eklund is just throwing more shit against the wall and hoping some of it sticks.
