  1. Kennan and Kel definately had an episode where Kennan's family moved away. I remember because it was a two parter and the first part ended with Kel showing up with a gift for Kennan, but it was too late and he was gone. Then Kel put down the gift and the camera slowly panned around the empty house to reveal it was a big picture of the two of them :crying:

Then Kel ran off to find them and the house was really shit so they moved back. I'm not sure if that was the end of the series though :/

Genuinely the only time I've ever cried at TV :(

  2. Just a note, it's 13/14 regenerations I believe, as we found out in the old series when The Master lost his. Keys of something or other with Peter Davison and Tegan.

Keys Of Traken, I believe. Peter Davison's first story.

The regeneration limit is first mentioned in the Tom Baker story The Deadly Assassin, where it's explained how the Master had used up all of his. Peter Davison's first story was called Castrovalva, and there's no such story as 'Keys of Traken,' methinks you're getting The Keys of Marinus (William Hartnell) and The Keeper of Traken (Tom Baker) mixed up. Sorry, being a bit of a DW Nazi there.

I find the idea of the Doctor being immortal like Jack quite unappealing. It's alright for comers-and-goers like Jack who can serve as a plot device, but having an immortal lead kinda rapes any story of its dramatic potential. Plus, I for one would love to see, in ten or so years' time, the Thirteenth Doctor facing the inevitability of his final death, and having to explain to his companion that there's no regeneration this time. He would, of course, regenerate in the end, giving us a nice mystery to pursue in the following series.

  3. Where does everybody get their CAWs from? CAWs.ws is the only dedicated website I can find. SvR09 is the first wrestling game I've owned in a good few years but I'm sure there used to be tons back in the PS2 days, and CAWs.ws is rubbish - the links either take you nowhere or to some ads.

Interesting. I'm not going to make any sort of judgment on the guy as I'm sure Moffat knows what he's doing. I hope they do something with his hair as it's a bit similar to Tennant's. But I can certainly see what they mean about him having a Doctorish look.

  5. The new Doctor wouldn't start filming until July and I'm fairly sure the next series of Survivors is shot before then, so he probably could film it if it were him.

I'm 50% sure it's going to be Joseph, 40% sure it's going to be Chiwetel Ejiofor, and 10% on somebody completely unexpected. I'm enjoying speculating though.

  6. Repeated viewings often change my opinion of an episode, but I didn't think that was particularly decent. I was intrigued by the Morrissey character until he got infodumped, solved and ditched midway through to concentrate on the Cyber-plot, which I didn't really get at all and didn't particularly interest me. Lovely to see the old Doctors though.

  7. The BBC Press Office and various media sources (originally broken by MediaGuardian) have announced that Steven Moffat is to succeed Russell T Davies as the chief writer and executive producer of Doctor Who when it returns for its fifth series.

The article states that Moffat will replace Davies in 2009, taking over as "showrunner" for the fifth series in 2010. Moffat has been responsible for several episodes of the revived Doctor Who to date, including the BAFTA Award-winning "Blink" and the fortmcoming two-parter "Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead".

Davies is quoted as saying: "It's been a delight and an honour working with Steven, and I can't wait to see where his extraordinary imagination takes the Doctor. Best of all, I get to be a viewer again, watching on a Saturday night!"

The BBC press release includes a comment from Moffat himself: "My entire career has been a Secret Plan to get this job. I applied before but I got knocked back 'cos the BBC wanted someone else. Also I was seven. Anyway, I'm glad the BBC has finally seen the light, and it's a huge honour to be following Russell into the best - and the toughest - job in television. I say toughest 'cos Russell's at my window right now, pointing and laughing."

Wow. Sad to see RTD go, but what a replacement - I know it's a fanboy's dream, but I never saw it happening, what with Moffat's career going places (the Tintin movie). This is going to be great.

  8. I'm very happy with this so far. Don't seem to have as big a problem with framerate as others do, and it looks gorgeous.

Started a ML with NEC Nijmegen on Pro and am 5th after 12 or so games, with the games being just the right side of challenging - I imagine I'd end up throwing the PS3 out the window on Top Player.

The only gripe I have is how much they took out of the edit mode - if we're to only be able to have scanning and not create our own sponsors and emblems, then surely the PS3 is capable of holding more than 8 kits?

WHO’S the real Doc? Time Lord David Tennant meets ex-Doctor Peter Davison for a Children in Need sketch.

Tenth Doctor David, 36, will team up with Peter’s fifth Doc for the BBC1 charity bonanza on November 19.

Peter, 56, said: “It’s an honour for me to make the connection.”

  10. 1) Deathly Hallows

    2) Goblet of Fire

    3) Half-Blood Prince

    4) Prisoner of Azkaban

    5) Order of the Phoenix

    6) Philosopher's Stone

    7) Chamber of Secrets

PoA is a quality book, only missing out on a higher spot because it lacks the real horror of DH (all the death), GoF (Voldemort's return) and HBP (Dumbledore's death). It's got the tightest plot of the lot - everything that happens in the book happens for a reason, and comes to play in the final act. It's brilliant.

  11. My mate's brother bought Pro Evo 6 a couple of days early and came in as me and my friend were playing 5 like the lesser mortals we were, all cocky. We stuck that on and he played his brother first and proceeded to absolutely slaughter him, 6 or 7-0. He then beat the other brother (my mate) 4-0. He's got a reputation as being the best Pro Evo player in town, and I'd never beaten him before, but I took him on, going with a frighteningly attacking 3-2-5 formation. 2-0 down at half time, I won 7-2. Fucking glorious.

Also, on Football Manager 2007 keeping Sheffield United in the Premiership on the last day of the season, coming from 3-1 down to win 4-3. I was providing commentary (don't we all), and it went "Howard's come out - oh, Horsfield's tackled him - NADE! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

    Yup. Good times.

  12. My Sheffield United team have to be the single most inconsistent team ever. We're currently 6th in the Premiership after a fantastic start, but now we've gotten into some poor form. When we win, we win easily, but when we go 1-0 down, their heads go down - when I lose, I get absolutely hammered. Recent defeats include 8-0 at Arsenal, and 5-0 and 7-1 at HOME to Newcastle and Portsmouth respectively. I've got Pennant coming in on loan from Liverpool, and have experienced talents such as Veron and Zanetti at my disposal but I can't put a decent run together - any tips?

  13. Who makes the frigging fixture lists?

First four games of the season are Tottenham, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool - the four Champions League teams. I could've got a point against Chelsea had Paul Ifill not skied it with an open goal in front of him and Paddy Kenny hadn't decided to run a mile out and get himself tackled by Lampard. :crying: So much for a good start to the season.

  14. YUSS!

Kept Sheffield United up on the last day after coming from 3-1 down to beat Everton 4-3. This was at about 3 this morning and I jumped up and screamed when Geoff Horsfield poked in the winner. Wednesday got promoted from the Championship so I've got a derby to look forward to this season.

I've fucked myself over with transfers - I went a bit crazy with Bosmans, got a couple of decent players I now see that most of them aren't going to work (Russell Latapy :( ) and I'm over the wage budget so I've been unable to sign Kieron Dyer, David Bentley or Fabio Rochemback. GHEY.

I also got a touchline ban so I just had to sit and watch us get battered 4-0 by Wigan. I thought it was cool.
