The Rogers Centre

Well, the renamed the SkyDome to the Rogers Centre... Does anyone else think this name is more suited for a convention centre than a ballpark??? If Rogers wanted to put their name on it, they could have at least left the SkyDome part, or called it Rogers Stadium.

...or Rogers Field for that matter. With that said, I hate the new name. I'm still gonna be calling it the SkyDome.

I hate when stadiums have corporate sponsers as their name. Plus, the Skydome was a wicked name.

It was renamed Rogers Centre for a reason. The intention is for the bowles of the Dome to be turned into a shopping centre. With the combination of an "Entertainment Centre", stores and a hotel it really is a centre and not a ballpark. Rogers doesn't even consider it a ballpark. They feel that many other events can take place there and it isn't just for baseball. WrestleMania, concerts, Argos football, soccor, ect. make it a "centre" and not a "field".

Well, the payroll increase really doesn't matter until next year anyway.. Nothing out there now...

It'll be interesting to see if they actually follow through though..

And if they do, if they can actually GET a free agent to come to Toronto.
