Pro Wrestling Carnivale

It had been a while since anyone had heard from Todd Gordon since he walked out on his head booking role at 3PW. Jasmin St. Clair with her constant bitching, the bounced cheques, hadn’t quite managed to kill his love for this industry, but she had dampened the flame and when she failed to show up leaving Brian Heffron (Blue Meanie/Blue Boy) with no money to pay people for the second show straight, Gordon said ‘Fuck it’ and left. Gordon had decided that he couldn’t work under someone else again in this business, not in a booking role at least, he’d said his goodbyes to the guys in the back that night and told them to stay in touch as he was hoping to put something together.

Like usual, most of the guys shrugged it off, another idea, another failure. Gordon was an ambitious person but no-one thought that he’d actually get a new promotion up and running. Not only was the money a problem, but they’d all seen Gordon over the past year slowly deteriorate as the pressure of being the sole man behind everything creative in 3PW had slowly but surely gotten to him. So, they all shook hands with Gordon and said their goodbyes, not expecting to hear from him again for quite some time.

Jack Victory had also decided that night that enough was enough and having heard what Todd Gordon had to say followed Todd out of the ECW Arena and into the almost pitch black parking lot. Jack knew Todd had something in the works, he’d been a friend of Gordon’s for many years now and he knew how his mind worked, he knew he wouldn’t walk out on a job, no matter how bad it was for him unless he had something up his sleeve, a definitive plan set up to get his teeth stuck into right away.

Jack was right to some extent. Todd did have something set up…

It was now the middle of May, and Gordon had been working hard with his new right hand man Jack Victory (Who would act as head booker) on a project, a project Gordon thought could put him somewhere near the top of the wrestling world again with time and investment. A new tri-state indy promotion was that project. Pro Wrestling Carnivale was that project.

Getting the staff, the wrestlers, and the equipment wasn’t a problem. The only problem for Gordon was money. Despite saving over the years, he’d got no where near enough money to open and successfully run a decent independent from month to month, but thankfully Jack Victory had a connection and that connection was Paul Eversman.

Paul Eversman, a small time broker in the Tri-State area was convinced by Todd Gordon and Jack Victory to put quite a bit of money into PWC to get it up off the ground due to being a life long wrestling fan and now an avid follower of the Tri-State independent scene. Paul at one time was approached by Gabe Sapolsky to finance ROH after the Feinstein incident but decided against it at the time due to not having the available capital to get behind such an expanding product like ROH. But PWC on the other hand was not as big as and probably wouldn’t be as big as ROH for at least 2-3 years down the line and this was the perfect opportunity for himself to be actively involved in a wrestling promotion to some degree.

Todd was now working to a deadline of Friday, June 24th 2005 to have his first show up and running. The reason? Well the reason was because on June 24th the license (The license he held that was to be used for 3PW) that he held for running shows in the ECW Arena ran out on that date and he wanted the debut show of Pro Wrestling Carnivale to be in that very arena, knowing it would be some time before he’d be able to use it again.

Now whilst Todd was aiming high, he didn’t really want to sign the same guys that ROH was using at the time because it was inevitable that they’d be branded an ROH wannabe. So instead Gordon decided to go in pretty much the same direction as 3PW was going, a more risqué product with more brawls, more blood and more violence with good technical and work-rate bouts thrown in for good measure. Gordon decided on not letting anyone know about who was going to be working for PWC until the official card was announced.

Pro Wrestling Carnivale was set to rock the wrestling world, or so Todd Gordon thought. He wanted to make an impact; he wanted to make a statement that Pro Wrestling Carnivale was the next big thing. Although it wouldn’t be along the lines of throwing the NWA World Title down and taking Eastern Championship Wrestling into a new era he hoped he would be able to come up with something that would give PWC the edge in a very competitive and unstable industry. With Jack Victory at his side, Gordon felt very confident that PWC would succeed.

- PWC presents it’s Debut Show this coming Saturday from the ECW Arena in South Philadelphia, PA which will see former 3PW Champion Gary Wolfe take on former JAPW Champion Balls Mahoney. Both men are former ECW Tag Team Champions and it is sure to be a brutal and hardcore matchup.

- Also on the debut show will be a four way between Alex Shelley, Xavier, Mike Kruel and Tom Carter. Alex Shelley called the PWC offices earlier today saying that he needed to win this match to fulfil his destiny of becoming the PWC Champion because God has given him the talent to do so.

- It seems as though Havok and Papadon of The Solution are ready to make an impact in Pro Wrestling Carnivale. Both men have publicly stated that they intend to destroy the team of Roadkill and CJ O’Doyle at the next show.

- Also, in BIG news, confirmed for the following show in what is sure to be a MOTC is Christopher Daniels versus AJ Styles as the current TNA X Division Champion takes on the current NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: THE DEBUT SHOW

Saturday, June 18th 2005

at The ECW Arena, Philadelphia, PA

Attendance: 507

Produced for home release by Modtrom Productions

Announcers: Eric Gargiulo and Gerry Strauss

- The opening match of the night saw DEAN RADFORD pick up the win in a mildly entertaining three way against ROB ECKOS & LUIS ORTIZ that sadly failed to capture the fans interest. It was Ortiz who seemed most likely to win this match after pretty much dominating the other two guys, actually getting some heat from the cold audience at this point, but after laying Rob Eckos out with a stump piledriver Ortiz was hit with a sit-out urange from Radford for the three count.

Match Quality: 63.4%, Crowd Reaction: 6.2%, Overall Rating: 23.7%

- As Radford was making his way back up the aisle after celebrating his victory, the PWC Commissioner JACK VICTORY made his way out from the back. Victory then thanked everyone for coming and ran through the PWC calendar finishing off by announcing that Christopher Daniels would be taking on AJ Styles at the next show in New Jersey, a match that was announced a little while earlier on pwcarnivale.com website.

Overall Rating: 45.8%

- As Victory was about to leave ALEX SHELLEY made his way down the aisle, microphone in hand, having to stop half way due to the chord only reaching that far. Shelley said that since he’s the only one here with ‘Talent on Loan from God’ he should be the first ever PWC Champion. Victory then told Shelley that he’d have to prove himself here just like everyone else if he wanted a place in the PWC Heavyweight Title Tournament that would be happening in a couple of month’s time.

Overall Rating: 51.4%

- After the main non-wrestling portion of the show was over, AZRIEAL did battle with GRIM REEFER. Azrieal was obviously the more popular of the two in the beginning as he played to the crowd, doing a little comedy with Reefer. It was Reefer who got the first near fall, walking the ropes before hitting a flipping senton onto Azrieal. Azrieal recovered quickly and nearly had Reefer beat with an awesome flipping DDT type manoeuvre, which the crowd showed their appreciation for. The fans then turned on Azrieal, after he used a low blow when Reefer was in control. Azrieal then rolled Reefer up using the ropes to get the three count.

Match Quality: 62.0%, Crowd Reaction: 19.1%, Overall Rating: 28.9%

- JAMES KEENAN then defeated DAMIAN ADAMS in a short match that not many outside the Keenan ring rats at ringside cared for. Keenan did his best to involve the crowd but they were having nothing to do with the match. Keenan won with the Razorblade Kiss.

Match Quality: 64.4%, Crowd Reaction: 5.2%, Overall Rating: 25.6%

- The crowd soon picked up for the next match as they went wild for the appearance of ROADKILL as he tagged with CJ O’DOYLE against the team of HAVOK & PAPADON (THE SOLUTION). Pretty much everyone in attendance was going crazy for the stuff Roadkill did as he reeled out all his usual spots, the second turnbuckle elbow, the Barn Burner etc. Roadkill and O’Doyle even tried to bust out a Buggy Bang, but it failed when Havok pushed Doyle off the top rope. It was this that led to the finish as they busted Roadkill open, leaving him for dead on the outside as they set a table up in the middle of the ring. Havok & Papadon then hit a double powerbomb on Doyle through the table for the victory.

Match Quality: 65.0%, Crowd Reaction: 25.5%, Overall Rating: 45.9%

- During the intermission ALEX SHELLEY was seen talking to MIKE KRUEL ahead of the four way that was to happen in a couple of minutes.

- XAVIER came out victorious in the four way pinning TOM CARTER in a match that also included ALEX SHELLEY & MIKE KRUEL in what was hailed as match of the night. The crowd was really into everything all four guys were doing with Shelley, despite having a few people on his back, the most popular. The match started out fast paced with all guys hitting big moves, finishing with Carter hitting a Mark Briscoe like cut-throat suplex for a close fall on Shelley. The match then quickly settled down into almost a tag match as Shelley paired off with Kruel and Xavier paired off with Carter. Shelley and Kruel had Carter in the ring for a long period of the match working him down, until he managed to make a tag to Xavier. Xavier came in strong but was almost beat when Shelley hit him with a ferocious downward spiral, only managing to escape thanks to Carter. The finish came when Carter managed to get the better of Shelley hitting him with a spinning DDT, only for Xavier to turn on him and hit him with a straight jacket powerbomb for the three count. Carter was obviously pissed, sitting with a look of disgust on his face as Xavier made his way up the aisle celebrating.

Match Quality: 74.0%, Crowd Reaction: 37.1%, Overall Rating: 41.4%

- In the main event of the evening BALLS MAHONEY defeated former 3PW Champion GARY WOLFE in a match, which whilst not the best of the night, was the hottest of the night as the crowd ate up everything they did as they brawled wildly through the crowd as the pair used chairs and glasses of beer. Wolfe at one point was handed a baseball bat, which he used to hit Balls across the back. Back in the ring though, the match ended when Balls used his custom made chair to floor Wolfe (taking three shots to do so) with, before covering him for the win.

Match Quality: 61.7%, Crowd Reaction: 52.9%, Overall Rating: 62.9%

- After the match had ended, Balls helped Wolfe back to his feet and the two shook hands. But as the two did so HAVOK & PAPADON hit the ring. Balls & Wolfe did their best but after a tiring match they were no match for The Solution as they used Balls own chair against him to leave the two bloodied and battered in the ring as Havok and Papadon stood over them with their hands raised high in the air as the fans hurled abuse at them.

Overall Rating: 35.9%

- In an interview that was taped for the VHS and DVD release of the show Havok & Papadon declared that they were going to conquer PWC and were going to do so with force.

Overall Rating: 39.2%

- Then in another interview taped for home release ALEX SHELLEY & MIKE KRUEL talked about their match tonight, mainly talking about Xavier and the way he used Tom Carter to win the match. Kruel then asked Shelley to form a tag team with him as he felt the two of them worked well together tonight. Shelley agreed that the two of them should form a team, spouting that together, no-one would be able to hold them down.

Overall Rating: 53.6%

Best Match: Xavier vs. Alex Shelley vs. Mike Kruel vs. Tom Carter

Hottest Match: Balls Mahoney vs. Gary Wolfe

Not too bad of a first show. The one thing I noticed that didn't make sense is that Alex Shelley talks about how he is going to be the singles champion and at the end of the show forms a tag team. It's not horrible but ti seems weird.

There are a few minor spelling mistakes but nothing major. Another small quibble I have is that you use gimmick names for moves but not the ones that the wrestler uses. I noticed that with Shelley when you say he does a downward spiral but he uses it and calls it the shell shock. Those are both fairly minor quibbles though and since I've seen actual announcers do the second one I don't consider it that big of a problem.

Announcers: Eric Gargiulo and Gerry Strauss

- ALEX SHELLEY & MIKE KRUEL opened up the show with a victory over INSANE DRAGON & DIXIE in a fast paced match. The match started off quick with a number of big moves. Shelley hit Dixie with the Shellshock in the opening two minutes but Insane Dragon managed to break the count. Shelley and Kruel controlled the match when it calmed down using their technical prowess to counter the high-flying antics of H Factor. The match ended after Insane Dragon wiped himself out with a corkscrew moonsault to the outside onto Kruel, which left Dixie and Alex Shelley in the ring together. Dixie went for some sort of head scissor move but Shelley managed to counter it into the Border City Stretch forcing Dixie to tap out.

Match Quality: 73.9%, Crowd Reaction: 32.4%, Overall Rating: 54.5%

- Whilst not being the best match of the night (and with the calibre of the other matches it was hard not to be), AZRIEAL and JAMES KEENAN put on a entertaining match that saw Azrieal continue his cheating ways. After missing a springboard somersault stunner, Azrieal resorted to using a low blow to set Stirling James Keenan up for the South Of Heaven Michinoku Driver II for the three count and the win.

Match Quality: 68.1%, Crowd Reaction: 18.1%, Overall Rating: 41.9%

- In the most violent match of the night JC BAILEY defeated NATE WEBB in a fan’s bring the weapons Deathmatch. A whole host of weapons were used including barbed wire baseball bats, barbed wire boards and a couple of thousand thumbtacks. The end of the match came when Webb and Bailey were brawling on the outside, Bailey bested Webb and laid him on a table that had been set up that had a barbed wire board under it that was laced with light tubes. JC Bailey then went to the top rope and came off with the Bardstown Jam. Both men were cut up badly with bits of light tubes sticking out of them, tangled up in the wire. But Bailey managed to somehow role over onto Webb to get the three count.

Match Quality: 58.4%, Crowd Reaction: 15.8%, Overall Rating: 29.0%

- During the intermission, in a segment taped for the home release Gerry Strauss runs into CHRISTOPHER DANIELS backstage. Strauss asks Daniels for his thoughts on tonight’s match. Daniels responds saying that he knows AJ is the NWA Heavyweight Champion, and a win tonight would put him among the contenders for a shot at that title.

Overall Rating: 80.1%

- After winning the four way at The Debut Show XAVIER continued his winning ways by defeating TOM CARTER for the second show in a row. Carter almost had the match won within a minute after a backdrop driver but Xavier managed to get his foot on the rope. Xavier then started to control the match, and came close to victory after a thrust kick and Michinoku Driver II. The crowd were quiet early, but started to pick up as Carter and Xavier worked towards the finish. Carter looked to have Xavier beat after a Hurricane Hurracanrana off the top rope, but instead of covering Carter pulled Xavier to his feet looking for another move to finish Xavier off, but Xavier managed to put Carter’s shoulders to the mat with a small package, grabbing the tights for the three count.

Match Quality: 74.0%, Crowd Reaction: 41.2%, Overall Rating: 60.2%

- After the beatdown they suffered at the end of the Debut Show it was time for BALLS MAHONEY & GARY WOLFE to get some revenge of the team that attacked them, HAVOK & PAPADON. They managed to get somewhat a small measure of revenge, but after a tough intense brawl all around the arena it was The Solution that came out the victors of the match. The finish didn’t go as planned as Papadon had Gary Wolfe laid out on a table, but as Havok went to the top rope the table broke. Havok and Papadon thinking on their feet, instead of using the table hit Wolfe with The Problem Solver (a Doomsday Device with a neckbreaker instead of lariat) to pick up the win.

Match Quality: 63.0%, Crowd Reaction: 31.8%, Overall Rating: 48.3%

- In a certified match of the year candidate AJ STYLES defeated CHRISTOPHER DANIELS in a match that the New Jersey faithful went absolutely wild for as AJ and Daniels pulled out all the stops. The match started off fast paced with Styles and Daniels exchanging moves until Daniels got the better of AJ taking him to the mat and working the leg. Daniels continued to work the leg as he and AJ went through a complex routine of holds and counter holds. The match then spilled to the outside and when Daniels went to whip Style into the rail, AJ jumped over, and superkicked Daniels as he followed in. AJ then hit a vaulted over and off the rail into a sky twister press onto Daniels. AJ then rolled Daniels back into the ring and got a close fall with a leaping roundhouse kick to the back of the head followed by a quebrada into an inverted DDT. Styles then locked Daniels up in an rolling Muta lock, but broke it up after Daniels wouldn’t tap. It was then Daniels who then came close to winning after an STO followed by a double hop moonsault. With AJ groggy, Daniels hoisted AJ up onto his shoulders and hit him with a torture rack DDT for another two count. The finish of the match then came when Daniels had AJ on the top rope. Daniels went for a frankensteiner but AJ flipped Daniels back over right down to the mat. As Daniels rolled onto his back Styles came off the top rope with the Spiral Tap for the three count and the win.

Match Quality: 84.0%, Crowd Reaction: 65.2%, Overall Rating: 87.1%

- In a taped interview ALEX SHELLEY & MIKE KRUEL start talking about their win tonight when INSANE DRAGON, DIXIE & AZRIEAL rush the room holding chairs. The three the proceed to destroy Shelley and Kruel with the chairs leaving them bloodied on the cold hard floor.

Overall Rating: 51.8%

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: SUNDAY, BLOODY SUNDAY

Saturday, July 17th 2005

at The Staircase, Pittston, PA

Attendance: 812

Produced for home release by Modtrom Productions

Announcers: Eric Gargiulo and Gerry Strauss

- In the opening match of the evening DEAN RADFORD picked up his third successive victory in a row by besting GRIM REEFER in a relatively short but entertaining encounter. The fans were quiet for most of the match, obviously saving themselves for the epic AJ Styles versus Christopher Daniels versus Xavier match later on. Dean Radford and Grim Reefer did their best though to get the fans involved in the match, which saw Reefer hit a rope walk flipping senton to Radford on the outside who was laid on the announcer’s table. Despite this though Reefer ended up on the losing end after going for a high risk manoeuvre and missing, Radford then hit Reefer with a sit-out urange for the win.

Match Quality: 54.6%, Crowd Reaction: 18.8%, Overall Rating: 31.0%

- Commissioner JACK VICTORY then came out to a respectful applause from the audience. Victory got on the house mic and announced that at the next show ‘And So A Champion Is Crowned’ we will see a six man tournament consisting of two three way semi finals with the winner of each going on to face off later that night for the PWC Heavyweight Title. Victory then announced the matches as AJ Styles vs. Alex Shelley vs. James Keenan and Christopher Daniels vs. Mike Kruel vs. Xavier.

Overall Rating: 46.6%

HAVOK & PAPADON then came out demanding to know why they were not in the tournament to which Victory replied he didn’t think they had done enough or had a big enough reputation. Havok & Papadon then threatened to attack Jack. Jack dropped his mic, and with his fists taped stood in a fighting position ‘ready to go’ as the fans erupted for Victory. Havok & Papadon thought about it but in the end decided to back down from a fight with the commissioner and instead left the ring.

Overall Rating: 41.4%

- In the second match of the night ALEX SHELLEY, MIKE KRUEL & JAMES KEENAN all of whom are in the PWC Heavyweight Title tournament were defeated by H FACTOR (INSANE DRAGON, DIXIE & AZRIEAL) in a fast and furious six man tag team match. The match consisted mostly of crazy spot after crazy spot including a six man car wreck of a superplex, powerbomb and splash combo. This was accompanied by a multitude of dives to the outside including stereo twisting corkscrews from Insane Dragon and Dixie. Shelley came the closest to winning the match for his team after hitting Insane Dragon with the Shellshock, but it was Azrieal who pinned James Keenan for the second straight show using the tights for the ‘cheap’ victory.

Match Quality: 70.7%, Crowd Reaction: 29.6%, Overall Rating: 46.7%

- After the high flying antics of the previous match things were brought down to earth as TOM CARTER and LUIS ORTIZ faced off in an intense technical affair with both reversing hold after hold that they threw at each other. ‘Latin Fury’ Luis Ortiz came close to winning the match early after an exchange of holds and counter holds ended when he dumped Carter with a DVD for a two count. It was Carter though who came out on top using a Northern Lights Bomb from the middle rope for the win.

Match Quality: 68.8%, Crowd Reaction: 21.6%, Overall Rating: 41.4%

- During the intermission DEAN RADFORD made his second appearance of the night also wanting to vent his frustrations at being excluded from the Heavyweight Title Tournament even though he has a ‘three and zero record’. Radford then ran down a couple of people at the merchandise stand not buying ‘Prepare To Be Radicated’ t-shirts before saying that he could ‘Radicate’ anyone in this business and was laying down an OPEN CHALLENGE for the next show to prove he is the best in this business.

Overall Rating: 35.6%

- After intermission it was time for THE SOLUTION (HAVOK & PAPADON) to take on THE ELM STREET KIDS. The match started out as Havok & Papadon versus AFATO & ENVY but soon broke down as all ten members of the Elm Street including Penny Dreadful got involved fending of the much larger Havok & Papadon. But that didn’t last long as Havok & Papadon used their strength to destroy The Elm Street Kids. After pinning Afato, The Solution continued their destruction after the match hitting at least five members with the Problem Solver. The Solution then set up a table and set it ON FIRE. Papadon then handed Penny Dreadful to Havok on the top rope. JACK VICTORY then made his way out from the back and ‘pleaded’ with The Solution not to take it ‘this far’. But The Solution did take it that far and powerbombed Penny Dreadful through the flaming table.

Match Quality: 58.4%, Crowd Reaction: 11.9%, Overall Rating: 33.9%

Victory then hit the ring and attacked Havok & Papadon getting the better of them, knocking Havok to the outside. But as Victory was unloading on Papadon, Havok re-entered the ring and cracked Victory across the back and then squarely on the head leaving Victory bloodied and bleeding in the middle of the ring.

Overall Rating: 30.9%

- In what was the real main event of the night, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS defeated AJ STYLES and XAVIER in a three way, first fall to a finish match up. All three men gave it their all giving PWC another match of the year candidate to go along with the last show’s AJ vs. Daniels match. The match was slow paced to start out with as the three worked through a feeling out period that almost saw Xavier snatch victory with a roll-up on Styles. Styles and Daniels squared up at one point in the match with Xavier on the outside selling a ‘knee injury’ hinting at something deeper than just a friendly rivalry. Both men started exchanging punches before Xavier got back into the match hitting a Kiss Your X Goodbye for a two count on Daniels. The finish of the match came after Styles hit a Styles Clash on Xavier. Daniels then dumped AJ to the outside and hit Xavier with the Angels Wings for the three count and the win.

Match Quality: 82.3%, Crowd Reaction: 62.3%, Overall Rating: 79.5%

- To finish the show off JC BAILEY defeated NECRO BUTCHER in a barefoot thumbtack and barbed wire boards deathmatch that saw both men bloodied and battered on this Bloody Sunday. Thumbtacks were scattered all other the mat to begin with as JC Bailey and Necro Butcher walked around barefooted ensuring they wouldn’t be on their feet again for a good week or two. Both men ripped their shirts off and took numerous bumps on the tacks. The finish came when JC Bailey hit a sick RatTrap piledriver from the ring apron onto a stack of barbed wire on the outside getting him the pinfall and the win.

Match Quality: 76.2%, Crowd Reaction: 22.6%, Overall Rating: 26.3%

- After the match was over, TOM CARTER came to the ring and proclaimed that Pro Wrestling Carnivale didn’t need this type of crap and proceeded to beat JC Bailey up throwing him around at ringside before tying him up in the Stretch Plum with Carter screaming ‘TAP’. Bailey though refused to tap out making Carter intensify the hold. Bailey eventually ‘passed out from the pain’ before PWC officials could tear Carter off Bailey. Carter once again got on the mic and branded Bailey ‘WORTHLESS!’ to end the show.

Overall Rating: 52.1%

- After what went down at Sunday, Bloody Sunday Jack Victory and PWC owner Todd Gordon have deemed that The Solution are too much of a reliability and have decided to suspend them indefinitely from wrestling on or attending any future Pro Wrestling Carnivale events.

- The next show scheduled for Saturday, August 6th from the Rahway Rec Center in New Jersey entitled ‘AND SO A CHAMPION IS CROWNED’ will see the first ever PWC Heavyweight Champion decided in a six man tournament. The tournament will consist of two three way matches with the winner of each going on to face each other in the final. As well as the title being up for grabs a $25,000 prize will also be awarded to the winner.

- Dean Radford’s open challenge will be answered at And So A Champion Is Crowned. PWC officials have had a number of people wanting to face Dean Radford but no-one has been decided upon. It will be interesting to see who indeed does answer his challenge.

- Nate Webb has opted to have reconstructive surgery done on his knee and will be out for the foreseeable future. He is optimistic of a return sometime around February/March of next year. PWC would like to wish Nate Webb all the best in his recovery and will continue to support him through this time.

- Tom Carter left a message on the PWC answer machine earlier today to let it be known that what he did at Sunday, Bloody Sunday was just the beginning in his crusade to rid PWC of the ‘No talent hacks’ that dominate wrestling today.

I'm really liking this diary. You've got AJ and Daniels in there, who are almost a must for any indy fed to get seen. You've got a good mix of guys, not just top talent, which is definitely respectable, as I've seen most indy diaries usually just go with top talent in their feds. Not sure about the whole Victory thing, he starting to kind of be like a John Danzig type guy.

Either way, keep it up, love the format. Can't wait to see who you put the belt on, but I have a pretty good idea who's going to end up fighting for it.

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: AND SO A CHAMPION IS CROWNED

Saturday, August 6th 2005

at the Rahway Rec Center, Rahway, NJ

Attendance: 817

Produced for home release by Modtrom Productions

Announcers: Eric Gargiulo and Gerry Strauss

- The show opened with JACK VICTORY stood in the ring, with his head bandaged up from the attack by Havok & Papadon at Sunday, Bloody Sunday. Victory announced that following The Solution’s suspension last week that the two will not be welcomed back to the company at any time in the near future and he was pretty certain that neither of them would ever be coming back. Victory then wished everyone in the tournament tonight the best of luck and said he wished he could get his hands on the $25,000 prize.

Overall Rating: 56.5%

- The opening match of the night saw INSANE DRAGON win an ‘insane’ four way mayhem match pinning SUPER HENTAI in a match that also included AFATO of the Elm Street Kids and GRIM REEFER. Insane Dragon was accompanied by fellow Rat Pack members Azrieal & Dixie and they were a great help to Insane Dragon in helping him win the match. Afato was also accompanied by his stable mates, ALL nine of them, with Penny Dreadful wearing bandages and a neck brace selling the powerbomb through a flaming table from The Solution last show. After a bunch of crazy dives to the outside, Hentai was on the top rope looking for the Aces High when Azrieal ran in and stunnered Hentai off the top, allowing Insane Dragon to hit a standing corkscrew splash for the win.

Match Quality: 63.0%, Crowd Reaction: 17.7%, Overall Rating: 24.0%

- CHRISTOPHER DANIELS won the first PWC Heavyweight Championship Tournament semi final defeating both MIKE KRUEL and XAVIER. Kruel and Xavier both had their chances to win the match but both failed to capitalize on their advantages as Christopher Daniels used every trick in the book to come out of this match the winner. Xavier was looking the most likely to win after Daniels had been ‘knocked silly’ by a wicked right lariat from Kruel. Xavier had Kruel pinned with the 450 Degrees of Fear but at the last minute Daniels broke the count and then hit Xavier with the Angel’s Wings for the three count and the win. Daniels after the match made his way to the back holding his neck selling the lariat from Kruel.

Match Quality: 80.8%, Crowd Reaction: 45.7%, Overall Rating: 70.3%

- After the match had ended a dejected and distraught Xavier attacked Mike Kruel and left him bloodied after a viscous beating with a chair.

Overall Rating: 44.4%

- In the second semi final ALEX SHELLEY pulled out the somewhat upset victory defeating AJ STYLES and JAMES KEENAN. Styles was obviously the favorite to win this match and he came very close on at least three separate occasions, at one point AJ had Shelley pinned after the Styles Clash with no sign of Keenan to make the save. Shelley though, managed to kick out just before the three. The end of the match came when AJ had Keenan set for a superplex. AJ was about to deliver it when Shelley came from behind and hit a german suplex with a bridge for the three with Keenan unable to break the count. After the match AJ and Alex Shelley had a brief stare down before finally shaking hands.

Match Quality: 76.4%, Crowd Reaction: 39.6%, Overall Rating: 62.3%

- Towards the end of intermission DEAN RADFORD came out bragging about his ‘undefeated streak’ before ripping on the crowd and those not buying ‘Prepare To Be Radicated’ t-shirts. Radford then asked for his mystery challenger to come out. After around a 30 second wait, LUIS ORTIZ walked out from the back, looking intense and ready for action.

Overall Rating: 22.1%

- DEAN RADFORD picked up the victory against LUIS ORTIZ in a good technical match. Ortiz carried much of the match working through a number of complex routines with Radford and coming close to winning with a brainbuster. Ortiz was working the arm of Dean Radford and whilst applying an armbar allowed Radford to reverse it and hit a Death Valley Driver for the three.

Match Quality: 61.6%, Crowd Reaction: 4.7%, Overall Rating: 33.2%

- Radford then got on the mic again after the match and issued another open challenge for the next show so he could make his record ‘five and zero’ because no-one in this business can beat ‘the radical one, Dean Radford!’

Overall Rating: 36.9%

- In the penultimate match of the evening BALLS MAHONEY & GARY WOLFE battled it out in an intense and bloody brawl with AXL & IAN ROTTEN that went all through the New Jersey crowd with beers, chairs, barbed wire and anything else they could get their hands on being used. Axl was struggling throughout the match after blowing up in an early exchange of punches and was totally out of breath by the fifth minute, luckily this match didn’t go much longer. The New Breed, Axl and Ian were dominating towards the end of the match, looking like they were going to win the match but out of nowhere Balls Mahoney and Gary Wolfe came back. Wolfe even ‘hulked up’ which drew a few jeers from the crowd. Balls then hit Ian with a Nutcracker Suite and Wolfe downed Ian with a belly to belly in a sloppy finish that didn’t come across well. After the match all four guys shook hands.

Match Quality: 62.1%, Crowd Reaction: 45.0%, Overall Rating: 51.6%

- As the four were shaking hands in the ring TOM CARTER came out from the back. Carter berated the four for ruining what was to be a monumental night for PWC and told them they should ‘get their fat asses back to whatever hell hole they came from’. Balls challenged Carter to get in the ring; Carter declined challenging Balls to a match at the next show, to which Balls agreed.

Overall Rating: 59.2%

- In the main event of the evening CHRISTOPHER DANIELS did battle with ALEX SHELLEY to decide the very first ever PWC Heavyweight Champion. The match started off slow with Shelley working the ‘injured’ neck of Daniels with Gargiulo selling the fact Daniels neck was hurting from the match earlier in the night when he received a wicked lariat from Mike Kruel. Shelley continued to work the neck as Daniels looked for a way to escape. Daniels made a quick burst of offence finishing with the Best Moonsault Ever but was unable to cover, selling his neck once again. The match went on with Shelley applying numerous submission holds to the neck, including going for the Border City Stretch but as soon as he went to apply it Daniels would shuffle towards the ropes quickly. Daniels then came close to winning after reversing a whip into the corner and following in with a leg lariat. With Shelley momentarily dazed Daniels hit the Last Rites. Daniels covered but Shelley somehow managed to kick out at two. The problem with the neck was too much for Daniels though and after a sick piledriver Shelley locked Daniels in the Border City Stretch and Daniels had no chance but to tap.

Match Quality: 74.2%, Crowd Reaction: 59.2%, Overall Rating: 74.8%

- After the match Todd Gordon awarded Alex Shelley with the PWC Heavyweight Championship and the $25,000 prize in a brief case. As Shelley was celebrating his victory XAVIER, who had lost earlier in the night to the Fallen Angel and then taken out his angst on Shelley’s tag partner Mike Kruel, attacked him. Xavier finished Shelley off by busting him open with a belt shot to the head. Xavier then laid the PWC Heavyweight Championship across the chest of Shelley before leaving with the suitcase with the $25,000 in it.

- 817 people last Saturday witnessed the crowning of the first PWC Heavyweight Champion, Alex Shelley. Moments after winning the title and the $25,000 prize though Xavier promptly attacked Alex Shelley. It isn’t known whether Xavier will be at the Hungarian American Club in New Jersey for the next show as PWC officials haven’t been able to get in contact with him. What is for certain thought is that Alex Shelley will be in New Jersey and he will certainly have some things to say about Xavier.

- Chris Hero makes his PWC debut at the next show entitled Pandemonium. Hero will be taking on the new PWC Heavyweight Champion Alex Shelley one on one. Chris Hero will be looking to pick up the win to immediately put himself in contention for a shot at the title.

- Also making his debut at Pandemonium is ‘Mr. Wrestling’ Kevin Steen. Steen called the PWC offices saying that he wanted to continue making a name for himself and saw PWC as the ideal place to do that. Steen made his intentions known saying that he would do anything to become PWC Heavyweight Champion.

- Christopher Daniels, after going through hell at And So A Champion Is Crowned, Daniels has stated that he wants to take a brief period of around a month away from wrestling. Daniels is said to be distraught about not winning the PWC title and also suffered a stinger from a piledriver by Shelley. Daniels though did mention that when he is fully rested up he will be back and better than ever and ready to take another shot at the PWC Championship.

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: PANDEMONIUM

Friday, August 19th 2005

at the Hungarian American Club, Woodbridge, NJ

Attendance: 904

Produced for home release by Modtrom Productions

Announcers: Eric Gargiulo and Gerry Strauss

- The opening match of the night saw DIXIE pick up in the win in a crazy four way mayhem match against DIRK CIGLAR, ENVY & SUPER HENTAI. Dixie was the clear favorite from the outset with Azrieal and Insane Dragon being on the outside to help him. Also at ringside were Afato and Yo Kidd of the Elm Street Kids. The finish of the match saw Ciglar come close to winning after a swanton bomb, but before he could capitalize he had been stunnered by Azrieal allowing for Dixie to hit a bridging german suplex for the three.

Match Quality: 62.0%, Crowd Reaction: 18.1%, Overall Rating: 38.2%

- The second match of the night saw the debuting KEVIN STEEN come out victorious as he defeated JAMES KEENAN and PUMA. All three men were on the verge of victory at one point. Keenan had Steen ‘pinned’ after a Razorblade Kiss but Puma was around to break the count. Puma then had Keenan pinned after a 520 springboard DDT, but Steen just managed to break up the pinfall. Then after a series of moves and counter holds that saw Keenan dumped to the outside Steen hit the Package Piledriver on Puma for the win.

Match Quality: 63.4%, Crowd Reaction: 17.5%, Overall Rating: 32.2%

- DEAN RADFORD then came out and did his usual promo running the fans and anyone not buying his t-shirts down. Radford quickly got to the point challenging anyone in the back to come out and accept his challenge. As Radford waited AXL ROTTEN came over the barrier and attacked him from behind.

Overall Rating: 48.0%

- On the back foot from the outset DEAN RADFORD had a real challenge in AXL ROTTEN. But it was a challenge he was able to overcome. The two brawled all around ringside with Radford getting busted open from a chair that was wrapped in barbed wire. Axl was starting to get cocky though, almost toying with him. It cost Axl dear in the end as a DDT out of nowhere onto the barbed wire chair from Radford was enough for Radford to keep his winning streak intact.

Match Quality: 61.0%, Crowd Reaction: 34.8%, Overall Rating: 47.1%

- During the intermission an irate ALEX SHELLEY came out demanding that Xavier show his face and be a real man. Xavier though didn’t show. Instead PWC owner TODD GORDON made a rare appearance to let Shelley know that Xavier hadn’t arrived tonight and he didn’t know if he was coming at all. Shelley demanded that a match be made for the next show between himself and Xavier, Gordon though turned the request down saying he was leaving it in the hands of PWC commissioner Jack Victory.

Overall Rating: 58.0%

- Following intermission AJ STYLES took on INSANE DRAGON in a fast paced match. Insane Dragon was accompanied to the ring by fellow Rat Pack members Azrieal & Dixie. After much interference from the outset JACK VICTORY made an appearance banning Azrieal and Dixie from ringside leaving AJ and Dragon to go at it one on one. Dragon did extremely well on his own managing to get a series of near falls with a flipping back kick and a kawada kick. AJ came close to winning at this stage after snap neckbreaker followed by a quebrada into an inverted DDT. Dragon came even closer to winning after a Sliced Bread #2 but somehow AJ managed to get his foot on the bottom rope. All this was followed up with a sick dive from Dragon to the outside. Back in the ring however Insane Dragon went for a springboard rana but AJ was able to counter it and hit the Styles Clash for the victory.

Match Quality: 77.8%, Crowd Reaction: 48.9%, Overall Rating: 63.4%

- In a battle of pure wrestling versus hardcore TOM CARTER went toe to toe with BALLS MAHONEY. The two went through an impressive routine of holds and counter holds as Balls drew on his days as an amateur but every time it looked like he had a hold Carter used his extensive knowledge of technical wrestling to overcome Balls. Carter at one point had Balls in a Texas Cloverleaf but Balls was able to make the ropes. After another routine that saw Balls hit a Nutcracker Suite, Carter unloaded on Balls hitting a t-bone followed by a frog splash that Balls somehow managed to kick out of. Balls though in the end came out of the match the victor. After hitting his trademark lefts and then a wind up uppercut, Balls grabbed his custom made chair and cracked Carter right over the head with it and then covered him for the three.

Match Quality: 69.1%, Crowd Reaction: 47.2%, Overall Rating: 54.7%

-Then in the main event of the evening PWC Heavyweight Champion ALEX SHELLEY went to a no contest with the debuting CHRIS HERO. The match was turning into a masterpiece of pure wrestling as the two went at it for a good 15 minutes that saw both men come close to submission victories, Shelley with the Border City Stretch and Hero with a cravate. The match though wasn’t to get a clean ending as Xavier ran in from the crowd, holding a brief case and wearing a brand new jacket. Xavier then used the briefcase to level both Shelley and Hero before getting on the mic.

Match Quality: 79.4%, Crowd Reaction: 42.1%, Overall Rating: 58.1%

- XAVIER then cut a promo to end the live show saying that he should be the PWC Heavyweight Champion and that he deserves it more than anyone else. Xavier then explained how he’d used some of Shelley’s money to buy a new jacket and a couple of whores that were waiting back at the hotel for him. Xavier then dropped the mic and started putting the boots to Shelley before MIKE KRUEL, Shelley’s tag partner, came running out from the back. Xavier then high-tailed it before Kruel hit the ring, choosing instead to verbally abuse him from the aisle as Kruel swore revenge whilst helping Shelley to his feet.

Overall Rating: 53.8%

- To end the DVD version of the show TOM CARTER cut a promo saying Balls Mahoney couldn’t beat him in a ‘wrestling match’ and had to resort to using weapons. Carter then challenged Balls Mahoney to a straight up wrestling match at the next show with no weapons allowed.

Overall Rating: 57.4%

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: NEWSREEL

- Pro Wrestling Carnivale will be back in Rahway this coming week at the Rahway Rec Center for our sixth show entitled High Impact. The last show at the Rahway Rec Center saw Alex Shelley crowned PWC Heavyweight Champion and High Impact is scheduled to be a massive show as well with a #1 Contenders match and a tag team match between Xavier and a mystery partner against Alex Shelley and Mike Kruel.

- As mentioned above, due to growing hostilities between Alex Shelley and Xavier a tag match has been signed for High Impact. Whilst Alex Shelley chose Mike Kruel as his partner, when asked Xavier just said he had ‘a surprise in store’ in relation to his tag team partner.

- After being defeated by Balls Mahoney at Pandemonium, Tom Carter called Jack Victory and demanded he make a straight wrestling match between him and Balls. Jack Victory being the fair commissioner he is contacted Balls Mahoney asking if he wanted to participate and not surprisingly Balls jumped at the chance to teach ‘that hardcore hating freak’ a thing or too.

- PWC officials were pleased to hear this week that Christopher Daniels was fit and ready for action once again after missing the last show due to a stinger sustained at the hands of Alex Shelley in the final of the PWC Heavyweight Title Tournament. After hearing the news Christopher Daniels was then immediately put in the #1 Contenders match against AJ Styles and Chris Hero.

- Jack Victory and Todd Gordon have recently been overheard discussing plans to crown the first PWC Tag Team Champions. We’ll keep you updated if we get any more news on the situation.

- If you’re interested in training to be a wrestler and live in the Tri-State area drop us an email at wrestlefactory@pwcarnivale.com or click HERE for more details. The new PWC Wrestle Factory will be headed by Jack Victory and will feature guest trainers such as Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Tom Carter and PWC Heavyweight Champion Alex Shelley.

- Also we can reveal Super Dragon and Low Ki, two people who we were intent on bringing into Pro Wrestling Carnivale have signed for the WWE. Both will be reporting to OVW for the next couple of months.

- The full card for High Impact can be found by clicking HERE.

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: HIGH IMPACT

Friday, September 16th 2005

at the Rahway Rec Center, Rahway, NJ

Attendance: 808

Produced for home release by Modtrom Productions

Announcers: Eric Gargiulo and Gerry Strauss

-----------------------------

*** KEVIN STEEN defeated JAMES KEENAN, AZRIEAL & LUIS ORTIZ in a chaotic four way mayhem match to open the show. Steen was the favourite from the outset hitting a number of high impact moves on the other three participants throughout the match, using a package piledriver on Ortiz to pick up the win. Keenan and Azrieal also had their fair share of chances at winning but someone was always around to break up the pinfall. With this win Steen puts himself in contention for a shot at the PWC Heavyweight Title. (MQ 65.9, CR 34.7, OR 15.4) ***

*** Dean Radford then came out so someone could answer his challenge. But before that could happen he cut a promo as usual claiming nobody could beat him. ‘You freaks should be buying my shirt and not some poorly designed Styles Clash crap…’ he shouted ripping into people buying shirts who weren’t buying his. Radford then dared his challenger to come out and John Walters came walking out to a nice applause as this week’s challenger. (OR 34.3) ***

*** DEAN RADFORD defeated JOHN WALTERS to extend his winning streak. Walters had an impressive debut and will inevitably be invited back, but this just wasn’t his night. At one point Walters managed to hit the Hurricane DDT but didn’t quite hit it right allowing Radford to kick out at the count of two. The finish of the match came when Walters had Radford up on the top rope for a superplex, but Radford managed to block it and scoop Walters up. Radford then hit a DVD from the middle rope for the victory. (MQ 69.2, CR 25.8, OR 42.4) ***

*** ROADKILL defeated GARY WOLFE in what was something of a return match for Roadkill as he hadn’t been seen in PWC for at least two months since the debut show where he and CJ O’Doyle were defeated by The Solution. The match was nothing special, just a typical brawl with a few pre-planned spots. Roadkill won with a superplex onto a piece of guard rail. (MQ 58.2, CR 48.4, OR 56.6) ***

*** THE RAT PACK (INSANE DRAGON & DIXIE) defeated DIRK CIGLAR & SUPER HENTAI and THE ELM STREET KIDS (AFATO & ENVY) in a run of the mill high spot a dozen match. Everyone got a dive in to the outside with Insane Dragon hitting a corkscrew moonsault to finish. It seemed as though Afato had stolen a victory early in the match when he rolled Ciglar up but Ciglar had his foot on the rope. In the end Dragon and Dixie hit stereo moonsaults on Afato and Envy for the win. (MQ 62.8, CR 15.4, OR 36.5) ***

*** During intermission Kevin Steen did a Q&A with the fans, answering questions on his training, why he turned down a WWE trial and various other questions. As he was finishing up the session Azrieal hit him from behind with a chair, spouting that Steen was nothing and that he was the true future of PWC. (OR 23.7) ***

*** AJ STYLES defeated CHRISTOPHER DANIELS and CHRIS HERO to become the number one contender to Alex Shelley’s PWC Heavyweight Title. The match started out slow but finished in a manic fast pace with big move after big move. Hero had seemed destined to win after controlling most of the match from the outset, using various holds and submissions to ground Styles and Daniels and came close to winning after a hangman’s neckbreaker. Daniels himself came close to winning with the best moonsault in the business but in the end whilst Hero had Daniels locked in a submission, Styles came off the top rope with the Spinal Tap. Styles then covered Daniels who came off worst for the three. (MQ 83.4, CR 55.4, OR 78.9) ***

*** TOM CARTER defeated BALLS MAHONEY in a straight wrestling match to go 1-1 with Balls Mahoney after Balls had beaten Carter last month. Balls held his own countering a number of Carters (who had numerous ‘Fuck You’ chants aimed at him throughout the match) holds and applying a multitude of his own to the point Carter became frustrated. After being hit with a Nutcracker Suite and defeat staring him straight in the face Carter resorted to using a low blow whilst the refs back was turned which allowed him to roll Balls up for the cheap victory. (MQ 70.7, CR 45.5, OR 55.4) ***

*** Before the main event started Xavier introduced his tag partner Abyss. Xavier stated that he was using the money he stole from Shelley to pay Abyss to be his hired insurance policy. (OR 56.5) ***

*** XAVIER and ABYSS defeated ALEX SHELLEY © and MIKE KRUEL in the main event. There was obvious animosity between Shelley and Xavier, but Xavier refused to get in the ring instead making Abyss fight much of the bout on his own. Abyss though with all his power was able to handle both Shelley and Kruel. Xavier finally tagged in when Abyss had beaten Shelley down, but Shelley came back, showing that he was playing possum so Xavier would tag in. Shelley then hit the Shellshock on Xavier, but Abyss broke the count. The match then broke down with all four brawling about the ring with match finishing when Abyss hit Shelley with the Blackhole Slam allowing Xavier to hit him with a 450 splash for the win. (MQ 76.9, CR 46.7, OR 62.0) ***

*** In a segment taped backstage for the VHS and DVD release an irate Alex Shelley was demanding Jack Victory make a match for the next show between him and Xavier. Victory then told Shelley the match was going to happen at the next show but the title would have to be on the line as it would be the last opportunity for Shelley to defend before his sixty days of inactivity with the title would be up. (OR 60.9) ***

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: NEWSREEL

- After another successful show PWC will be back in Rahway this coming week for our seventh event entitled Just The Beginning. The main event for the show was made by Jack Victory following High Impact after the match was demanded by Alex Shelley. So this coming Friday it will be Alex Shelley defending his PWC Heavyweight Championship against his most hated rival in PWC, Xavier.

- Abyss, who debuted at High Impact signed for the WWE this past week. Abyss stated that whilst he wanted to work some more dates in Pro Wrestling Carnivale, Vinnie Mac’s money was more enticing than Xavier’s. Xavier has promised that he will have ‘bigger and better’ backup for Just The Beginning.

- Also making the move to the WWE this week is Tom Carter. Carter will be working his final show for PWC this coming Friday in a match against Balls Mahoney to settle their feud once and for all. Carter surprisingly agreed to face Balls Mahoney in an Anything Goes match. It’s going to be an interesting match as Carter will be desperate to go out on top to prove that Pure Wrestling is better than Hardcore.

- To update on Nate Webb’s condition we can reveal that his surgery went according to plan and he expects to be back inside a wrestling ring during December of this year.

- AJ Styles, #1 contender to Alex Shelley’s title was upset that Xavier was given priority over him to a shot at the title. AJ Styles was not too dejected though as he was told by Commissioner Jack Victory that he’d be facing Alex Shelley for the title the following week.

- Following Azrieals attack on Kevin Steen last week Jack Victory has seen fit to book the two in a match at Just The Beginning. Steen will be surely out for revenge and Azrieal wants to prove himself as the true future of PWC.

- Word is that Dean Radfords open challenge will be answered by a former WCW title holder this week. Who that is, we have no idea but we are told he will be no ‘misfit’ here in PWC.

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: JUST THE BEGINNING

Friday, September 30th 2005

at the Rahway Rec Center, Rahway, NJ

Attendance: 918

Produced for home release by Modtrom Productions

Announcers: Eric Gargiulo and Gerry Strauss

-----------------------------

*** PUMA defeated JAMES KEENAN, ENVY & SUPER HENTAI in the opening match of the night. Everyone hit their signature spots during the match and Envy almost picked up a shock victory after hitting Super Hentai with a tilt a whirl into a DDT. James Keenan also came close to winning, being the tallest and most powerful man in the match he was able to overpower the other three hitting Envy with a sick release dragon suplex. Puma though was the one to come out victorious, doing so by hitting Envy with a Tiger Suplex and holding on for the three. (MQ 65.5, CR 17.0, OR 39.0) ***

*** KEVIN STEEN defeated AZRIEAL in a good fast paced match. Azrieal had been bragging previously about how he was the true future of Pro Wrestling Carnivale and not Kevin Steen and Azrieal went all out to prove that as fact getting a number of near falls. But ultimately it was Steen who picked up the victory tonight after hitting Azrieal with the Package Piledriver. After the match Steen offered his hand, but a dejected Azrieal turned it down and walked away. (MQ 62.9, CR 23.1, OR 39.2) ***

*** THE RAT PACK (INSANE DRAGON & DIXIE) defeated DIRK CIGLAR & GRIM REEFER in a short spotty tag match. Ciglar is out to prove himself in PWC but didn’t do so tonight as he was pinned by Dixie after a spinning heel kick version of the Doomsday Device from The Rat Pack members. (MQ 70.8, CR 27.6, OR 55.4) ***

*** DEAN RADFORD then came out for his open challenge but as he was walking down the aisle he was attacked by former WCW Cruiserweight Champion LASH LEROUX. The two fought it out in the aisle for a bit before hitting the ring. (OR 38.9) ***

*** DEAN RADFORD defeated LASH LEROUX in the Dean Radford Open Challenge. The match had started with Lash attacking Dean in the aisle but Radford managed to fight back and get on an even footing. At one point in the match LeRoux hit Radford with the Whiplash but Radford somehow managed to kick out. In the end a chair was brought into play by Lash LeRoux and that would be his downfall as he was spinebustered onto it by Radford for the three. LeRoux received a warm welcome from the Jersey fans and will no doubt be back in PWC in the near future. (MQ 66.6, CR 45.7, OR 58.4) ***

*** During the intermission in footage shot for the home release XAVIER was seen talking to a shady character. Having noticed the camera, Xavier quickly pushed the cameraman away before walking away himself with the man. (OR 54.0) ***

*** AJ STYLES defeated MIKE KRUEL in an outstanding technical showpiece straight after intermission. Kruel gave a good showing going toe to toe with AJ Styles but in the end up he wasn’t quite good enough to go that extra mile to pick up the win. AJ Styles won the match with the Spinal Tap moments after hitting a leaping enziguri to Kruel who was on the top rope at the time. (MQ 81.0, CR 50.6, OR 68.6) ***

*** CHRISTOPHER DANIELS defeated CHRIS HERO in a thirty minute classic which is being called match of the night. Both were just looking to pick up the win to establish themselves in the PWC rankings after they both lost in a three way match to determine the #1 contender to Alex Shelley’s title last show to AJ Styles. Daniels played a great role as a cocky heel often mentioning something about a new era of Pro Wrestling Carnivale whenever he had Hero in a vulnerable position. Hero managed to hit the Heros Welcome early but it wasn’t enough to put Daniels away. In the end after a complex routine of holds and counter holds Daniels ended up countering a move from Hero into the Angels Wings for the victory. (MQ 80.9, CR 57.6, OR 81.6) ***

*** BALLS MAHONEY defeated TOM CARTER in an anything goes match. The match was Carters last in Pro Wrestling Carnivale, with him heading off to the WWE and he was desperate to win this match to win the feud against Balls Mahoney. The match was brutal with both men getting busted open hardway. Carter at one point hit a tornado DDT through a table, but didn’t have enough in him to cover Balls in time. The end of the match then came as Carter grabbed Balls custom chair and swung, missing Balls. Balls then grabbed the chair from Carter and cracked him over the head with it before hitting a chair assisted top rope legdrop for the three count and the victory. (MQ 69.2, CR 48.2, OR 58.0) ***

*** ALEX SHELLEY defeated XAVIER by disqualification in the main event to retain the PWC Heavyweight Title. The match was very intense as Shelley and Xavier went at it with brutal punches, forearms and elbows really getting over the fact that the two hate each others guts. After the early intense brawling the match switched to a technical bout as Shelley and Xavier exchanged holds. Xavier came very close to being crowned champion after hitting the Kiss Your X Goodbye but Shelley was close enough to get his foot on the rope. Xavier became frustrated after this and made a rookie like mistake allowing Shelley to lock him in the Border City Stretch. It looked as though Xavier was going to tap when a man around 6’6 in height, wearing a black mask, hit the ring breaking the hold. As referee Jim Molineaux called for the bell the man proceeded to chokeslam Shelley whilst Xavier shouted abuse at him. (MQ 78.6, CR 46.6, OR 69.5) ***

*** In a backstage segment taped for home release, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS was shown talking on the phone mentioning that all the plans were in place and it was only a matter of time until judgment day was upon us all. (OR 85.0) ***

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: NEWSREEL

- Another successful show at the Rahway Rec Center means that our next show0 entitled Hard Times will also be live from the Rec Center as AJ Styles looks to become PWC Heavyweight Champion when he takes on Alex Shelley. With Xavier scheduled to be in New Jersey will Shelley’s mind be fully on the match?

- Christopher Daniels this past week signed a WWE contract and Hard Times will be his last match in PWC. Daniels will be looking to go out on a high as he faces ‘Mr. Wrestling’ himself Kevin Steen. Steen will be no push over as he looks to protect his undefeated streak and stake a claim for a shot at the PWC Heavyweight Title.

- The man in the mask who attacked Alex Shelley at the last show has been revealed as Brian Lee. It appears Lee is being paid by Xavier to be his new bodyguard after his insurance policy Abyss left for the WWE.

- Over the next couple of weeks PWC will be announcing it’s first ever Contenders Pack which will rank the top five people in contention to the PWC Heavyweight Title.

- Thanks to everyone who applied to train at the PWC Wrestle Factory. Six people have been selected to train with Jack Victory, AJ Styles, Alex Shelley and Chris Hero. We hope to see the first of these filter through onto PWC shows within six months to a year.

PRO WRESTLING CARNIVALE: HARD TIMES

Friday, October 21st 2005

at the Rahway Rec Center, Rahway, NJ

Attendance: 862

Produced for home release by Modtrom Productions

Announcers: Eric Gargiulo and Gerry Strauss

-----------------------------

*** SUPER HENTAI, GRIM REEFER, AERO, LUIS ORTIZ & ROB ECKOS defeated THE ELM STREET KIDS in a ten man tag which was the opening match of the night. No real competitors were announced in this spot fest as regards to The Elm Street Kids as all ten members seemed to have some involvement in the match with all hitting some sort of dive at some point or another. Luis Ortiz though won the match for his team hitting a Death Valley Driver onto Rob Eckos’ knee on Afato for the three count. (MQ 58.9, MR 8.4, OR 32.8) ***

*** DIRK CIGLAR defeated DIXIE w/ INSANE DRAGON in an entertaining match up. Insane Dragon was proving a constant distraction on the outside for Dirk Ciglar, tripping him up, distracting the ref etc. but Ciglar took him out of the equation with a superb moonsault from the top to the outside. Dixie then came close to winning after a tornado DDT, but it was in fact Ciglar who came out on top hitting Dixie with a Swanton Bomb. (MQ 73.5, MR 21.0, OR 43.2) ***

*** CHRIS HERO defeated JAMES KEENAN, LASH LEROUX & JOHN WALTERS in a four way mayhem match. Hero was out to prove himself in PWC after losing his first two matches, as was everyone else. Chris Hero was the firm favorite with the crowd, but this was a hot match overall as the crowd ate up everything they were doing. LeRoux almost had Keenan pinned after the Whiplash, but Walters was around to break the count. The finish of the match saw Walters hit LeRoux with the Hurricane DDT, only for Hero to then roll him up for the three count. (MQ 73.6, MR 45.2, OR 57.7) ***

*** AZRIEAL defeated PUMA in the last match before intermission. Azrieal didn’t look on top of his game after Puma came close to winning a number of times and if it wasn’t for the bottom rope, Azrieal would have most definitely lost this match using it three or four times to break pin-falls. At one point in the match, Azrieal went for a somersault stunner but Puma managed to avoid and hit a stiff kick to the face of Azrieal for a two count. The finish of the match came when Puma went up top. Puma came off the top, but Azrieal dropkicked him in the gut and followed that with a Michinoku Driver for the three and the win. (MQ 61.9, MR 16.8, OR 24.1) ***

*** Towards the end of intermission DEAN RADFORD came out and started to run the New Jersey faithful down, also this time, Radford had some free shirts to give away for those stupid enough to not buy one, he gave one out to a plant in the crowd who threw it back in his face. Radford shrugged it off and continued calling out his challenger, who turned out to be ROADKILL (OR 20.9) ***

*** DEAN RADFORD defeated ROADKILL as Dean Radford extended his unbeaten streak. Roadkill got in all his trademark spots leaving the fans happy despite his loss. The finish of the match saw Roadkill go for a second rope elbow drop, but Radford moved out of the way, the 6’4 Dean Radford then hoisted Roadkill up onto his shoulders and hit him with a Death Valley Driver for the win. (MQ 65.2, MR 28.4, OR 39.3) ***

*** KEVIN STEEN defeated CHRISTOPHER DANIELS in Christopher Daniels last match for PWC before he signs his WWE deal, Everyone in the Rec Center was expecting Daniels to win this match, but in the end, he didn’t as Steen picked up the win. Daniels was out their to have fun and you could tell as the fans let him know they didn’t want him to leave with ‘PLEASE DON’T GO’ chants. The place nearly erupted after Daniels hit the Last Rites, but Steen somehow managed to kick out and then two minutes later, Daniels was on the receiving end of a Package Piledriver, which he wasn’t able to kick out of. (MQ 79.0, MR 47.2, OR 62.4) ***

*** CHRISTOPHER DANIELS then cut a promo thanking everyone in attendance for showing him support over the years that he’s been on the independent circuit. Daniels then took time out to sign some autographs and shake a few hands before leaving. (OR 80.8) ***

*** ALEX SHELLEY © defeated AJ STYLES to retain the PWC Heavyweight Championship in an awesome match that saw AJ Styles go all out to try and win the PWC Championship. Alex Shelley though, playing a defensive game was able to hold of AJ Styles. Styles got a close fall early after a sick springboard sky twister kick right to the temple of Shelley. Shelley was a little dazed after this and Styles came close to winning straight after that with a quebrada into a DDT. Shelley though made his comeback, hitting a tilt a whirl into a backbreaker and then the Shellshock, but AJ managed to kick out at two, as ‘LET’S GO SHELLEY’ and ‘LET’S GO A.J.’ chants started up. The finish of the match then came, when AJ had Shelley set up for the Styles Clash, but somehow, Shelley managed to escape and take AJ down into the Border City Stretch. After a monumental struggle to avoid tapping, Shelley pulled AJ into the center of the ring and applied it again forcing AJ to tap out. (MQ 84.2, MR 54.2, OR 76.7) ***

*** After the match, AJ STYLES & ALEX SHELLEY shake hands, but then are suddenly attacked by XAVIER & BRIAN LEE. Styles and Shelley start to get the upper hand when Lee catches Styles with a chokeslam, followed by a chokeslam to Alex Shelley. Xavier and Brian Lee then stand tall in the ring to end the show (OR 53.6) ***
