Sony could hit some rough times with the PS3

According to this article Sony could take hardware losses in the first year they might not be able to recover. A lo depends on the Xbox 360 I suppose, but still, hard to believe how risky this seems. Also, the guy from Sony is a tool, he compared the PSP to a Gameboy Advance, even if it was simply price, it was a stupid comparison.

Not really sure why it's such a dumb comparison, as they're both excellent handhelds. Most companies take a hit their first year after a console release; it says so right in the article.

The entire article was revolving around the possibility that Sony could take a dramatically larger loss than they can recover, despite companies usually dropping money in the first year.

It's a stupid comparison because the PSP is a, for lack of a better term, next-gen handheld compared to the GBA. It would be like comparing the PS2 to the N64, doesn't quite get your point across considering they are from two different time periods. If he just said the DS, it would have been smarter, Sony still beat DS in sales(as far as I know) and they are more expensive than the DS, which was the point he was trying to convey.

ps2 still seems to do extremly well with two hardwarewise better consoles around...
