NCAA College Football 2005 Season Preview

Recommended Posts

So, with the college football season slowly approaching. New games, preview mags, and bites on SportsCenter are getting me more and more excited about this upcoming season. Im looking for lots of upsets, old rivalries to fire up, and a few players to rise from nowhere to Heisman glory. I shall now post my top 5 predictions for teams to watch, sleeper teams, heisman candidates, rivalry winners and dissapointments. Why don't you all join in and post yours also...

Top 5 Teams To Watch

USC- With the return of Matt Lienart and Reggie Bush, USC is once again the team to beat..

Texas- We saw what Vince Young did in the Rose Bowl last year, even with the loss of Cedric Benson look for Texas to compete..

Iowa- Drew Tate with his amazing comeback performance against LSU speaks for itself.

Oklahoma- It will be interesting to see if Adrian Peterson can carry the offense

Miami- Very concerned about the U's program..Hopefully not in a rebuilding period

Top 5 Sleepers

Syracuse

Boston College

Virginia Tech

North Carolina University

Texas A&M

Heisman Winner And Runner Ups

Matt Lienart

Adrian Peterson

Vince Young

Reggie Ball

Brad Smith

Rivalry Winners

Oklahoma Vs Texas- You got to believe that Texas has a huge chance to finnaly beat OU. With all the loses to OU and the return of Vince Young to Texas it's gonna be a wild one......Oklahoma wins 35-21

Miami Vs Florida State- Both teams losing key players last season. But with Miami and FSU it's always a wild one. You just know its gonna be wide something... Miami wins 21-17

Tennesse Vs Florida- Florida Wins 31-28

Dissapointments This Season..

Oklahoma- I'm sorry to say that with the loss of so many key players on each side of the ball OU will have a problem winning games in the tough Big 12 conference..

Cal- With the loss of Aaron Rogers and J.J. Arrington, i don't think Cal can keep up with the offense of the Pac-10.

Michigan- Even though they found 2 freshman gems last year in Chad Henne and Michael Hart, and even though with the loss of Braylon Edwards they still have a talented receiving core with Steave Breaston and Jason Avant i think Michigan lost enough to be able to win the Big 10

Miami- With the loss of some valuable offense and defensive players, including less that stellar QB Brock Berlin, the Canes looked to be headed into a rebuilding period.

Florida State- While they were once the kings of the ACC conference FSU has slipped off the ACC map. With teams such as Va Tech, and UNC climbing up the ranks FSU must fight there way to succed this season..
