Rate my first banner made

OK, first let me point out that this banner was made in Photofiltre not Photoshop. I made this for my diary I'm ging to start soon. So can you guys please rate this banner. I understand it is pretty plain but just tell me what you think. Thanks.

It's not good, to say the least.

Step one to starting to produce atleast half decent graphics, get Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or something along those lines.

Your ego? Did you look around at all at the other graphics on the forum and notice how much talent is on this board? Honestly, there is no way you thought this graphic was that good, but at least you can learn from it. Photoshop is definately the way to go, at least in my opinion, and then I'd suggest reading through some online tutorials to really get a grasp on it's abilities. Good luck with your learning. (Y)

Of course I didn't think the banner was anywhere near the quality of other members here. I just thought my banner looked 'cool'. I didn't think it was good or anything
