Madden 07 Superstar Mode question

Hi guys, I'm playing through Superstar mode in Madden 07 as a HB. I've won two Superbowls with the Cowboys, been named NFL MVP and Best Offensive Player two years running, but I have a massive problem with stamina. I start every game and usually play the whole game, as well as going to the Performance Institute whenever possible. Anybody know if I need to slow my guy down a bit? Other than that, I'm stumped as to how after two years, my starting stamina has gone from 90 to 45 (I always focus my points on stamina under the "Rookie" role descriptor).
