Wizard of Oz cartoon

Does anyone remember an old Wizard of Oz cartoon in which the art style was relatively realistic? It was on when I was a kid and I'm trying to find it again. It would have been maybe ten or more years ago. I remember the plot for many episodes (it ran a relatively long time, if I remember correctly) was that the Wizard would send them on impossible journies before he would help them (then revealed that he couldn't help them)? Also, I remember a battle at the end with Dorothy trying to save the Emerald City. And possibly all the companions being torn apart maybe?

I've looked on Wikipedia but none of them seem to be the right show. Little help?

No, that's definately not it.

It's art style was relatively realistic, to start with.
