You'd only need to watch the second half of the second movie. The final battle has been completely revamped and changed to make it even more Epic than before, and also a little more epiloguing is done afterwards.

I havn't seen these new episodes yet, but that is a very likely outcome. If anybody's read the original books the series was based off, it's exactly how the first book ends. Everybody's back on Earth, everyone's happy, but it turns out that everyone is living the video game.
