  1. Yep. Been watching since the first show, it's a shame that Peter lost and got sent home...he was my favorite. Ishe really impressed me in how he wasn't going to mouth Ahmed and then beat his ass come fight time. Maybe I get into the show a little too much. I usually miss the original run on Sunday so I catch the replay on MSNBC on Monday right before Raw. So no spoilers from last night until 9 when it goes off!! :P

Yeah Naji was sad. It's been a while since I read the news and I'm too lazy to read it again, wasn't he the one who shot himself in his car right after his girlfriend got out? Either way it sucks, he was a good fighter and seemed like the nicest overall person on the show.

  2. Final Four:

    Portman, Dushku, Garner, Mendes

    Finals:

    Portman vs. Garner

    Champion:

    Natalie Portman

That was a tough choice between Mandy Moore and Natalie Portman in the Elite Eight. Whoever took that matchup had a pretty easy run afterwards though.

  3. Word of advice; if the flop comes KKQ and you have Q-anything not a K...and the other guy does anything that isn't checking...fold. $50 I'll never seen again. :crying: Damn you trips Kings. Damn you straight to poker hell.

Personnally, if the guy is an experianced player, I'd be more worried if he checked.

  4. Online play is worthless unless your playing with real money and even then it's not much good unless your playing 1/2 tables (which are usually pretty soft) or playing 3/6 if your looking for a better game. My biggest regret is learning online with play money. I'm still having some problems breaking the bad habits that I picked up from playing play.

For a beginner I really recommend getting together a bankroll of about $100 and playing online. Get into a low buyin Multitable Tournament (I'd suggest $5+.50) you can play 18 tournaments with that roll with a little left over. The experience you'll gain from that will be pretty good. Usually players at that price are playing decent poker.

I recommend that you and other poker newbies head over to fullcontactpoker.com, which is the site of poker pro Daniel Negreau he has some helpful articles and the forums are full of people who have good advice. Oh and his Poker Quiz section is good for some entertainment and is usually pretty helpful.

  6. I agree about Braff. The first time I watched Garden State I gave it ****1/2, but everytime I watch it the film gets better. After watching it again last night I'd probably bump it to a full *****. I really don't remember seeing another movie that could compare to it.

On a slightly unrelated note, I didn't see Sideways yet is it really as good as the award hype it's getting? Yes I am too lazy to search through the review thread to see.

  7. I'm in the same boat as Tristy. I'm in redneck country too and around here I literally hear "GIT-R-DONE" at least five times a day. What makes it even worse is there is some guy around here with an old, rusty, spray painted truck with a lift kit that sits about 4 feet off the ground that has GIT-R-Done spray painted all over it. I hate West Virginia. I must move far, far away from here.

Anyway Ron White is decent, easily the funniest of the Blue Collar guys. He really needs to get some new material though. I've seen both of his Blue Collar shows and a couple of his others and it's always the same jokes with a few small changes

  8. Brian called Bakersfield's KRAB radio station and claimed that he has left the band and is starting a solo project.

He has one song out called, 'Cry' which the station played, and he currently has 8 songs done, which will all be on his solo album, released in June.

Brian has supposibly found God. He does not want to be playing dark music anymore, he doesnt want to keep being negative. He has been attending church for the last several weeks.

He was at the Valley Bible Fellowship on Sunday morning at 8:00, 9:45, and 11:45 in the morning to explain his reasons for leaving the band.

There is no anger between band members. The rest of the band understands his departure.

"Korn has parted ways with guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch, who has chosen Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end," a statement from the band reads. "Korn respects Brian's wishes, and hopes he finds the happiness he's searching for."
  9. "For over a decade, Blink-182 has toured, recorded and done non-stop promotion all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends.

To that end, the band has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labors with their loved ones. While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no one knows what tomorrow may bring."

  10. For about a year now I’ve wanted to learn to play bass. I’m finally at a point where I’ve got the extra cash to buy one with and in today’s newspaper there are three for sale. I know very little about guitars so I’m hoping that you can help me decide which one (if any) I should buy. Here are the ads:

Peavey T20, 4-string, hard case, stand, strap and picks $200

Fender Precisionbass w/Peavey amp (20 watt RMS), gig bag and 12’ wire $300

Tobias Bass w/active pickups, Transparent Red, 2 months old $300

That’s really all I know about them, is there anything I should look or listen for when I go to look at them?
