There's the latest AP Poll. What do you guys think of LSU's two spot drop, from #4 to #6. And the two teams that went up, Miami and FSU, haven't even opened their seasons yet. Personally I think it was a bad move by the sportswriters, sure LSU almost got upset by an unranked school, but they didn't...so why drop them below to teams who haven't even played a game?

To answer your question Hellfire, this weeks game of the week will no doubt be #4 Florida State versus #5 Miami. Tennessee/Florida should be a good game as well. I didn't look through the full schedule but those two seem to be the best high profile matchups you'll find this weekend.

  2. My alltime favorite is Matchbox 20's "3am" but some others are

    Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O'Mine

    Nickelback - Someday

Five for Fighting - 100 Years

Fountains of Wayne - Valley Winter Song

    Silverchair - Anna's Song

Mercy Me - I can only imagine

Bon Jovi - Bed of Roses

Bon Jovi - Livin on a prayer

Bon Jovi - Keep the Faith

Bon Jovi - I'll be there for you

    Blake Shelton - The Baby

The temptations - Ain't too proud to beg

    Nas - One Mic

And virutally anything by Ben Folds.

  3. Anyone catch the WVU game? That was hot 337 yeards for Kay-Jay Harris!! And LSU/OSU was crazy. Did anyone watch LaTech and Nevada yesterday? I didn't get to watch it all but what I saw was good. Ryan Moats is offically awsome too. He almost 300 yards and sat out a good bit out the second half. Rutgers beating Michigan State was a little unexpected (at least by me) and was good as it might be a sign that Rutgers are decent this year and could bring another team into contention in the Big East.

  4. Yeah that really is a good team. I'm frickin amazed that you got Tom Brady in the 10th round!! And that Plexico lasted until the 6th! Got a question for ya though, who are you starting Edgerrin James or Rudi Johnson? Both are good backs who will score you a lot points. My advice is start Johnson as he'll get more carries than anyone playing for a team with Manning's passing ability.

  5. Though you have to look at it as though he'll probably never be mentioned in the same breath as Manning or Farve. Because he's not either one. Mike Vick is a double threat he can pass the ball or given a good pass rush he can take off and beat you with speed. Peyton Manning nor Bret Farve are much better than a lineman given a scrambling situation. Neither one is much of a threat when it comes to the option. Personally I'd much rather give a few incompletions and have a guy who can run a successful option and gain some yardage off a strong blitz.

  6. I've been a huge Vick fan since the first game I saw him play with Virginia Tech (my favorite college team). And so it's obvious that I'm going to say that he is not overrated, but I'm here to offer points as to why. Just like Syco said he's got a bad offensive line, a poor receiving core (with one or two exceptions), a decent backfield, and a defense that leaves a whole lot to be desired. I'll admit that his pass accuracy is open for improvement. But if you just take a look at the stats I think you'll notice that he has made the Atlanta Falcons better. I will also agree that 2002 was his standout season.

In 2002 Michael Vick threw for a 54.9 completion percentage, threw only 8 ints, and finished the season with a QB rating of 81.6. In that same season Rich Gannon, the league leading QB had a completion percentage of 67.6, threw 10 ints, and had a QB rating of 97.3. While there is quite a difference between those stats considering that Gannon had 14 years of pro experience on him, it makes Vick look pretty good. 2002, Drew Bledsoe was second place in the league in the QB position. Bledsoe only had a 61% completion percentage, threw an impressive 15 ints, and had a QB rating of only 86.

Also in 2002 Vick proved that he was a threat on the ground in NFL. He rushed for 777 yards on only 113 attempts. That's a 6.9-yard per carry average. He scored 8 touchdowns on the ground that season and combined with his passing TD's brought him to a total of 24.

I'll move up to 2003 a season in which he went down in the preseason with a broken leg. He came back very late in the season, when his team was already out of the playoff race. He could have sat out the rest of the season and made sure that his leg was fully healed. But he came back to start the last four games of the season. And he didn't play too badly. He still managed to scramble for 255 yards and pass for another 585.

I know that right now your going to take what I've said and post something about the hamstring strain he's suffering from right now. But if you look at Steve McNair, he was very similar to Vick in that he had halfback style speed and mobility. But when he had some pain that wouldn't allow him to move as much, he stepped up in the pocket and became a great pocket passer. Look for the same thing out of Vick for the first couple of weeks into the season. In closing I'll admit that Vick's style of play does lead him towards a career full of injuries, but as long as he remains healthy there are a very small amount of players that any better in the NFL.

  7. So your telling me that the car has a white stipe that magically shows up bright white in the shape of a triangle through the blend job with the red? Your telling me that it's a stripe? You do realize that it's not even in the same perspective as the car, right? I've attached a portion of your graphic with the thing I'm talking about circled.

  8. Who are all of you people?

If I were honest I'd say it left a lot to be desired. The cut is poor as some white edges are still visible, along with some edges looking smudged and even parts of the background being left floating. Rarely does text look good black with a white stroke and it doesn't do itself any favours being stuck right in the corner, at least you didn't have it touching the border though I guess. The background is a little flat looking and I think there's too much contrast. Finally I just don't think the cut matches the background, maybe if you colourised her clothes black or red, or easier; made the background silver to match her, it would've looked better.

Sorry to be so brutal, but if it's honesty you want...

  9. I think there is no real answer....the concept was made up in such a loose way that the writer/directors were able to create two inferior sequels with no real guidelines to keep them in the same realm that the first was in.(And that takes away from the first in many ways)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, The Matrix was a trilogy from the first time it was pitched. The Wachowski's wrote the movie to be a trilogy. If you want proof go watch "The Matrix Revisited" and pay close attention to the part where a guy from Warner Brothers is talking. He says something along the lines of "These two young kids came in and pitched this idea for a trilogy.Yata Yata. I told them let's concentrate on getting one movie together then we'll see about the next two." Thus the ending of The Matrix had to be re-written and a definate end placed.

As for the original question. Storkerino gave the only possible answer. Neo and Trinity had to save their leader. The only way to pull it off was to go straight through the goverment building. The security guards were only doing their job that is true. They had no idea who Trinity and Neo were and what they were doing, but even if they did the system would have taken over and they would have still defended the building.

  10. I took part in my third freeroll on poker room yesterday. I finished 9th out of 1600. I'm more than pleased with that finish. I only won 2 big pots but several smaller ones. I almost went out around 900.

I was dealt pocket Kings. I was one seat to the right of the dealer so I was next to last to act. Third person to bet raises all-in (2,500) and everyone folds and it's my turn to act. I'm sitting comfortable at this point chip wise as I'm looking at around 1400. I sit there and think to myself "Okay pocket Kings. There is only one hand that can beat me pre-flop. What the hell let's move all-in too." So I called his all-in and everyone else folds. So it's a 1-on-1 showdown. Turns out he didn't have a better hand than me. He was holding an A J offsuit. So I'm thinking to myself I'm a decent favorite. Flop comes down 2-8-A. Fuck he's got top pair and I've got two outs. I need a King! Turn card comes down a 4. Leaving me one chance to stay alive. And of course luck stuck and I got my King on the river.

  11. Bad Sequels

Barber Shop 2 - While it wasn't a bad movie it just felt like I was watching Barber Shop again with one small change in the story.

Star Wars - The originals are classics. Phantom Menace was good. Attack of the clones bored me...and I walked out of the theater about an hour into the film and don't remember any of the first hour.

I might edit later with more.

    Good Sequels

Matrix 2 and 3 - I know a lot of you hate them, but I loved them and I feel they were not only as good as the first but combined they were better than the first and pushed the movie to a whole new level of greatness.

Lord of the Rings - Granted they were required to finish the story, but never the less they were amazing.

Austin Powers 2 and 3 - They could continue making A.P. movies for years to come and I'll still hit the theater and buy the DVD's.

2 Fast 2 Furious - Unlike most people I think this was as good as the first.

    Should be made

American version of the prequel to The Ring.

The Fast and The Furious 3 - I think they've got one more sequel in this franchise. Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Ludacris and Tyrese all in the same movie would own.

  12. I play on pokerroom.com. I usually finish in the top 3 in tournaments. Though all the play money tournaments on there are single table (that I've found anyway) I'm looking for a place with play money multitable tournaments. If you know any hook me up with a link.
