  1. Thanks as always. Has to be some kind of record for how quick a solid database came out after a new game release. Hours. Now, my humble suggestions.

With the new way the game is set up we don't really need "User Characters" anymore unless they're fictional ones. So makes sense for me to untick the "User" box on the real people you have and to just leave "The User" as the only person with "User" ticked. That means people don't have to go through the process of deciding who to erase and who to keep in the game starting process. Fictional Characters = User Characters. If someone wants to play as a real wrestling personality they can with the new option and everyone will be part of the game regardless.

Also it means we can add relationships back for them. Right now all I could only come up with a few but I'm sure there's more important ones I'm missing.

Shane McMahon - Blood relationships with Vince, Steph, and Linda. Loyalty to Triple H.

DDP - Strong Friendships with Kevin Nash, Eric Bischoff, and Scott Hall. Loyalty to Jake Roberts - his trainer and currently DDP is counseling Jake's addictions.

Gerald Brisco - Blood for Wes Brisco and Strong Friendship for Pat Patterson.

Megumi Kudo - Married to Bad Boy Hido and Loyalty to Jaguar Toyota, her trainer.

Tom Billington - Loyalty to the older Harts? Bret, Bruce, Smith, Neidhart. I don't know what the nature of their relationship is these days or if he has a relationship with the younger ones.

Hayabusa - Loyalty to Tarzan Gota, his trainer. Strong Friendship with Jushin Liger.

There's also Freddie Prinze Jr and Jerry Estrada but I couldn't come up with any relationships for them.

I noticed that the TNA Bound For Glory Series title is set to retired. It should be active, no? Also you have James Storm listed as the 2012 winner when Jeff Hardy won.

Also maybe its just me but I'd do away with the "WWE Board of Directors" and put Vince as the owner. I know they're a public company but the McMahons still own controlling interest of the company and that won't change. So keeping the company "in family" and lessening the odds of someone else taking over seems to make sense to me. For my own database I put Vince as the owner and made the "mandatory owners" Vince, Steph, and Triple H. I know that doesn't assure it but seems like it might help the odds.

You have "Memo Rodriguez" in NXT. Guillermo Rodriguez plays Memo Montengro so I think you just inverted the real and NXT names. Also you have him with Blood relationships with Dos Caras and Dos Caras Jr but he's also related to Mil Mascaras, Sicodelico, Sicodelico Jr, and El Hijo del Sicodelico.

It should be "Garett Bischoff" with one r.

  2. You usual reason is that your database is set to a different pic pack. You have to go ino the editor and make sure it's set to the right pack, by default it sets to either the Default pack or one made specifically for that database. If you're using a separate one you should just go and make sure it's set by clicking the database settings in the editor.

  3. Man, once I got the hang of the new sorting system for match booking I realized how awesome it is. So much more fluid and intuitive. And being able to put a pre-booked match right up there? And the Assistant booking? Wow. The process has been sped up so much. I can't imagine how easy it will be to book a ppv where I have 9 matches pre-booked and then just need to keep everyone else busy with matches my assistant can handle. All of a sudden a 2 hour job becomes 15 minutes?

This has to be the user friendliest version since EWR. It's amazing.

  4. Outside of some buggy things and problems with the mod convert I'm loving this so far. The AI is way smarter and more aggressive. Playing as TNA WWE stole Samoa Joe along with grabbing half a dozen other people like Alex Shelley, Davey Richards, Colt Cabana, and Jay Lethal. I never saw WWE be that aggressive in 2010 and it was something i really missed from EWR.

And I love the new bidding war set up. Honestly, the whole negotiation format change is awesome. Being able to see what other companies are bidding so you can counter, getting feedback from the wrestler about what they want without it killing your time to negotiate. It's all really cool.

I haven't managed to talk someone out of retirement yet it maybe I'm doing that wrong.

  5. On January 1st TNA is debuting a new show in England called TNA British Boot Camp. From the sounds of it its a Tough Enough/NXT type of show where 4 young English wrestlers (Hannah & Holly Blossom, Marty Scurl, and Rockstar Spud) train with a bunch of veterans (Hulk Hogan, Marc Rocco, and Doug Williams) with the hopes of getting TNA contracts.

I don't know if you want to do anything with it or just ignore it. I also don't know what your plans are for the TEW2012 debut next week and if you'll be continuing 2010 mods or moving to 2013. But I'm planning my big first 2013 game and was thinking about what to do about this. My idea for my own personal database is to give TNA the Boot Camp show on Challenge as a B show and sign the Blossoms, Scurl, Spud, and Rocco to short term contracts. That way if I want to play TNA I can just run that show seperate as a B-Show and do whatever I want with it and the contracts afterwards.

  6. I think 2 years is fine for TNA to grow into a "credible threat" for WWE, just as long as they weren't genuine equals. Realistically in 2010 TNA has prime-time national television, a touring schedule, 12 PPVs, and international touring. If they get a creative boost that after say 6 months starts to build real momentum then I can see TNA growing at a pretty solid rate. It would be a little easier to sell if WWE struggled or took the same path it did in reality, then you can tell the story of frustrated WWE fans switching over, but it seems like the goal of this is less about TNA rising to the top and more about a new era of wrestler and stars what with the Nexus taking control of WWE. But that's just a guess.

We don't really know what howlingman has planned so I think its unfair to judge it so early, since we all seem to just be taking leaps to try and figure out exactly how it plays out. I do agree that TNA shouldn't be WWE's equal in 2 years, but the writeup sounded more like the scenerio begins with TNA starting to threaten. And honestly, how much difference is there between WCW 1994 and TNA 2010? Surely TNA could make the same leaps forward in 2 years that WCW did leading the nWo/Monday Night Wars?

My greater concern would be that it seems to be a sort of Wrestling Utopia. WWE is doing well, TNA is rising, and NWA Wrestling has risen as #3. Even ROH sounds like its arguably ahead of where it is today in reality and just a booker, tv show, and a few key wrestlers away from joining the Golden Era. There's nothing wrong with a "Golden Era" but ultimately one company's gains coming from another company's losses makes more sense to me than everyone doing well and there just being more wrestling fans or a ton of money being spent.

But its an interesting idea and I'm curious to see what you go with it. I'm not as skeptical as others and think the rough outline makes enough sense. The devil is in the details.

  7. Christian York should be added to TNA or OVW as he won his Gutcheck contract.

Todd Kennely should also be added to TNA as he's been announcing the first hour of Impact for a few weeks.

I've been fishing around with the ladies in the database and noticed a number of women who should have their statuses changed or other things.

Shazza McKenzie is set as a man, she should be a woman.

Daffney appears to be retired. From the sounds of it she's had serious problems from concussions and has hung up the boots. Although she's still working for Shine in a non wrestling capacity. And her physical levels should probably be affected as well.

I also heard an interview from Lacey recently that suggested she had left the business. She was moving to Japan, I think, to live there for a few years and spoke of wrestling as something from her past she doesn't even really follow anymore. She also spoke of her relationship with Austin Aries as a past thing although they sounded on good terms (she was asked about him recently winning the TNA world title and said she heard and had called him to congratulate him, I think). So their relationship should change from dating to split up, friendship, or just deleted all together.

Traci Brooks doesn't seem to wrestle anymore. She wrestled a few times for TNA in 2011 but was mostly anon wrestler. So perhaps semi-active?

Trish Stratus certainly shouldn't be active. Semi perhaps as she's wrestled a match here or there for WWE since her retirement, but I think Retired would be fitting.

Michelle McCool has been retired for about 18 months now and recently started a family with Taker. So retired at least but perhaps Out Of Business? Candice Michelle and Torrie Wilson are two more who seem very distant from the business or at least in ring action.

Ashley Massaro on the other hand appears to have returned to wrestling in a non-wrestling capacity at least.

  8. As always, thank you for your hard work. Some tweaks and suggestions.

Divina Fly, TNA's Rosita, hasn't appeared with them for a long time but fairly recently said she's still with them. So I'd add her back.

Austin Aries should be a heel in TNA, Bully Ray should be a face.

I'd give thought to your Hall of Immortals. Right now you have dozens of wrestlers set to be inducted who don't qualify by the standards. Young world champions like Sheamus, Bobby Roode, and Kaz Okada. I'd change them all from "Future Inductions" to "Not Inducted". They'll keep the points you've given them but need to earn a spot. Meanwhile people who have earned one like Chris Jericho or Kurt Angle will get in anyway by the game's qualifications.

  9. Love your work, love your database. Use it all the time.

I was starting a game with TNA and noticed some stuff.

D'Angelo Dinero should be a face. Cocky Face works.

Magnus should probably be a heel. He doesn't have a very well defined character right now but he's been opportunistic and arrogant throughout the BFG Series.

Speaking of, maybe you could set up a September Tournament Title called "The Bound For Glory Series"? Set Bobby Roode as the 2011 winner.

Jeff Jarrett and Sting should probably be semi-active. Neither wrestles regularly, at least not for TNA. Jarrett works AAA so maybe he's more active there but Sting's once in a blue moon at this stage, basically on the Undertaker/HHH schedule. And Sting is doing his crazy Joker gimmick.

Dakota Darsow and Sabian (under the Rashad Cameron name) have both made an appearance or two after Destination X. It might be worth putting them on Pay-Per-Appearance deals. Especially since you have Sonjay Dutt signed who has made the same number.

Dutt should be a cocky heel.

Wes Brisco showed up on the most recent Impact so maybe add him too. He's rumored to be coming in. This week he was just doing a generic Family Tradition thing asking for a spot. Maybe another Pay-Per? Although there will probably be a clearer idea come September.

Sam Shaw won his Gut Check thing. I don't think he's in the database though as that's another Shaw.

Mark Haskins hasn't been used in forever. You can probably cut him.

Mickie James shouldn't have a Country Singer gimmick. She's just a generic face with a cowgirl/country look/attitude. They haven't mentioned her singing career in years.

Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez are teaming for Hardcore Justice against Kid Kash & Gunner. I don't know if you want to put them together as teams with minimal experience. I'd guess the Chavo/Hernandez one at least will stick around since TNA is low on teams.

  10. TNA Spoilers

    - Add Taeler Hendrix to TNA as an opener, face, equality fighter gimmick.

    - I'd personally add Joey Ryan as a lower midcard heel with an outside threat gimmick. He made an appearance in the crowd tonight and has been doing numerous videos on Youtube about being screwed by the Gut Check judges, sounds like an angle and that he is definitely a part of the roster.

    - And before anyone says it, don't add Sonjay Dutt, Jigsaw as Rubix, Blk Jeez aka Sabian or Scorpio Sky to TNA. Despite Dutt and Jeez winning, it doesn't guarantee they will be around after Destination X just like it was last year.

In regards to Joey Ryan I'm a big fan of his and follow his stuff so i know about his stuff on YouTube, personally it looks like a shoot but it could be an angle, personally till he is in the ring area or is involved in something legitimate with TNA then he wont be added, that kinda stunt has been done before.

Remember this, it was autherised but didnt lead to shit.

I don't know if you watched it or not but on this past week's Impact he was front row with a sign and during Taeler Hendrix's Gut Check evaluation Snow and Taz left the ring and confronted him with the cameras following and the announcers identifying him by name. So it seems pretty clearly an angle at this stage. Its your mod and your call but I wasn't sure if you were aware of it beyond the Youtube stuff. In addition TNA showed one of those Youtube videos on air and the Gutcheck judges have repeatedly talked about Ryan.

Last year a good number of the people brought in for Destination X ended up staying on the roster. Aries, Sorenson, Nese, Kash, Ion, and Haskins. Dutt and Sabian will make at least one more appearance so I don't see the harm in adding them on open contracts. But again, your call. But again, in case you're not aware four wrestlers appeared on Impact this week as part of qualifiers for an X Title Tournament at Destination X.

Sonjay Dutt defeated Rubix (Chikara's Jigsaw)

Rashad Cameron (CZW's Sabian) defeated Mason Andrews (PWG's Scorpio Sky)

  11. I like the relationships. The detail and effort Cpt C puts in is a big part of the reason I play his mod. A lot of other mod makers kind of ignore that it seems and it always kind of annoys me when I'm deep into a game and suddenly discover a couple of people who should be family or friends or loyal aren't.

That designer said that "it wasn't necessary", not that it was wrong. Its a level of detail he doesn't think needs to be done for the game to work properly. But one man's definition of a good game is different than other man's. This has come up in other mods and on other boards when people tried to build huge databases that covered as much of the wrestling world as possible. People would say "that's not how the game was designed, you're adding more than it works best with, the load times are too long." If that's how you feel then I respect that, but personally I don't mind waiting a minute or two for my days to load if it means more detail.

  12. Sorry. I misread that as there being two other ladies named "Melodi" and you wanted the UK one. I'm pretty sure I did a fair bit of searching for a more wrestling picture of her back when I cut that one, but had no luck. If you find something feel free to share and I'll be happy to cut it.

  13. Can I get one of Tyson Kidd's current shaved head, and Winter with the Knockout's title on KyKy?

    tjwilson.jpgkatlanoirtnaknock.jpg

Can I get the following on KyKy:

    Abyss w/ TNA World Title

Samoa Joe w/ TNA Tag Title

Husky Harris w/ TNA Tag Title

I don't love the Joe ones but the best I could manage.

By the way, I thought Joe and Harris were an odd combo when I first read it but looking at the pictures I get it. I like to make tag images that match up and it was easy for them. Nice pairing.

And some more random cuts (most taken from new pictures on the OVW and ROH sites).
